    Bees, bees, bees.

Los Robles Greens "The Gardens" Venue: Beautiful Venue, But Beware of the Wasps We recently held our high school reunion at this venue, and there were definitely some wonderful things about it. The setting is lovely, the staff was generally very nice, and the food itself was good. We truly appreciated the ambiance and the effort put into the service. However, we had a major and unexpected issue with wasps. Unfortunately, no one warned us that bees might be a problem. During the appetizer hour, wasps were swarming around the charcuterie board and other appetizers, which made it pretty much impossible for our guests to enjoy them. Later on, between 7 and 8 p.m. when we were having dinner, the wasps were still a nuisance, landing on dinner plates and making everyone uncomfortable. While we understand that this is an outdoor venue and some interaction with nature is to be expected, we felt it was something the venue should have informed us about in advance. They did not have any visible measures in place--like fans or netting--to help mitigate the issue, and when we spoke to the staff, they simply told us that it was out of their control. In short, while the venue has a lot of positives, we would caution anyone planning an event here, especially a wedding or a large gathering, to be aware of the potential for wasps. Such a shame that we wasted so much money on the appetizers/charcuterie in general.

I had the most beautiful wedding at Los Robles Greens. They were so communicative, the service was fantastic, and the venue clean and beautiful. Thank you to McKenna and Melanie who helped organize the day.

This place was nice! The garden itself was very scenic and magical and looked amazing for a wedding venue! The only issue with the venue I had was that there was a tree right in the middle of where the seats would go so it was hard to see from the back rows. The food was tasty, I was able to try 3 different appetizers that were floating around during the cocktail hour. My favorite was the mini taco bowl, it was like a little Tostitos Scoop chip with beef, cheese and guacamole. Then I had a super fresh tomato, basil and mozzarella skewer and finally we had a warm artichoke dip that was just okay. Entree-wise, the Asian salad with apple and champagne vinaigrette was tasty! Very light. We were served chicken and steak with asparagus and roasted carrots. The chicken was flavorful and tender, I had to switch my steak with someone because the one I got was waaaay too red for my liking. But the seasoning was on point. The veggies were undercooked and a bit hard to chew. There was also an eggplant Parmesan option for vegetarians and I heard raving reviews about it. Not sure if the cake came from the venue, but it was good! The reception area was nice, they had heater lamps which was clutch because it definitely got chilly! The dance floor was a good size. They have a noise ordinance so things couldn't get too loud. It was very spacious, enough room for a bar, photobooth and plenty of room to breathe. The bathrooms were also very clean here too and connect right to the bridal suite which could be good and bad. All in all, lovely place to get married!

This review is for the wedding venue only. It's been a couple decades since I played golf at Los Robles Greens, however we attended a wedding there last month. The outdoor courtyard was beautiful and the way the ceremony was set up it was like a amphitheater. The reception was held in another part of the property and was very spacious. We were served a filet mignon and salmon that was excellent. So good that I had to ask the grooms family if the food was catered from a outside restaurant. All the food, appetizers to the dessert was provided by Los Robles Greens. Without knowing the cost, it's a good place hold a wedding.

Our organization held an awards event for 80 people--including local dignitaries--in the Sunset Ballroom at Los Robles Greens October 23rd. Everything went extremely well. The room setup was exactly as we had planned, and the buffet options were all delicious. The team on-site for the event was very attentive and responded immediately as needed. I particularly want to thank Alex, Devyn, McKenna, and Levi for making our event a tremendous success. I highly recommend Los Robles Greens for such events, and our organization will definitely want to hold more celebrations at the facility. Thank you!

This review is for the wedding venue. I'm a DJ and don't typically give venues bad reviews. This is mostly because of the sound limitations they have. All DJs are required to use the house system to perform, which at first thought makes it very convenient since I didn't have to carry a large of large speakers. It was fine for cocktail hour and when guests arrived to the reception, but once I turned up the music for dancing, i realized how the music was digitally restricted l. If you just want chill music, it's fine, but I found it too low and had at least 6 or 7 guests asked me to put the volume up while dancing. Besides that, the views are great of the golf course. They had fake grass so that looked green and beautiful. The food was not bad. Parking was easy. Service seemed ok to me. The sound limitation was what earned the low rating. The venue should be honest about the how strict they are. I think they wanted the music to be just background lounge music.

It has been pouring rain here for two weeks. We tried to play here a couple of weeks ago but we backed out due to the weather. When we did finally play, we really had an excellent time. My only complaint is the location of the driving range. You need to walk or drive well past the middle of the first fairway so you could hit balls back towards the clubhouse. There is a range closer to the clubhouse that is private where you hit balls the opposite direction toward the other range. Other than that quirky complaint, everything else was wonderful about our experience. The rates are quite competitive. I paid $58 on a Saturday morning for a non-resident. Since the course was so water logged from the rains it was cartpath only, so we decided to walk. I'm in pretty good shape and found the course quite walkable but, yes, I was a bit sore last night. It still beat walking back and forth to the cart path after every shot. The guys we were paired with had a cart and we kept up with them quite easily. It was still a 5-hour round. We barely waited for the group in front of us and did not feel rushed by the group behind us. For a soaked course, it was in amazing condition. The greens were excellent, fast, true and well maintained. The fairways were not very tight and errant shots were easy to find. Lots of oak trees made for some challenging shots. The layout was hilly with some gorgeous sand traps. Some are quite deep and some were quite large with different native plants. Quite picturesque for a public course. I would not hesitate to play here again.

Food came out pretty slow but there's plenty of garlic rolls to supplement the wait. It seems that the wait for food is always the same regardless of capacity so don't come if you're starving. Got brisket sliders which were pretty good, our 2 classic burgers were both medium rare, despite one being ordered medium well. Like a large pink center, but it's fine. The bbq salad is so good though, the perfect mix of bbq meat and fresh lettuce that complements perfectly. The sliders are good but a bit boring, they have a lunch special where it's 2 sliders and a side/soup but I feel they wouldn't be as fulfilling as the other items on the menu for a similar price. Garlic rolls are so soft and buttery. I think our server's name was Jaqueline? So sorry if I'm getting this wrong, but she was managing at least 5 tables from my POV, but she checked on us regularly! Our waters were never empty and everything was great!

The atmosphere strikes that perfect balance between relaxed and elevated--comfortable enough to unwind, but still polished enough to feel like you're treating yourself. Now let's talk about the food... because this is where things really stood out. We ordered the Inside Out Quesadilla, Chicken Lettuce Wraps, and the Honey Feta Dip--and every single dish delivered. The Inside Out Quesadilla was next level. Crispy, loaded, and packed with flavor in every bite. It's not your typical quesadilla--it's elevated comfort food done right, with the perfect texture and just the right amount of richness. The Chicken Lettuce Wraps were fresh, clean, and incredibly well-balanced. Great crunch, flavorful chicken, and that satisfying mix of savory and slightly sweet that keeps you going back for another wrap. And the Honey Feta Dip... easily a standout. That sweet-and-salty combo was addictive. Creamy, rich, and perfectly paired with what they serve alongside it--honestly one of those dishes you end up talking about after you leave. But what really took this visit over the top was the service. Our server, Chris, was outstanding--attentive without hovering, genuinely friendly, and clearly knew the menu inside and out. You can tell when someone actually cares about your experience, and Chris absolutely did. On top of that, the manager David came by and made a point to check-in since he heard it was our first time, which says a lot about how the place is run. He was professional, personable, and clearly takes pride in making sure guests have a great time. That kind of leadership shows throughout the whole operation. Overall, this wasn't just a good meal--it was a full experience. Great food, great people, and a place that clearly knows how to do things right. We'll 100% be back--and next time, we're bringing people with us.

We also had fish and chips, Korean bbq steak bowl, Tex mex chicken bowl, pot roast, ahi tuna bowl and Chicken Pot Pie. We were celebrating two birthdays and our sweet waitress brought us 2 ice cream Sundaes and extra spoons. She helped us with the new way to pay since we had cash and card and the learning curve is steep for me. All of us had a great time here and all of the food was done very well. Granted most locations follow the same set-up / interior lighting, this particular location has a rather nice front entrance & a very appealing/spacious outdoor dining area. For my next visit, I'll likely reserve a table outside to casually "people watch" as I dine. COCKTAIL: Georgia Peach = 9.0 / 10 You can't go wrong with this guy. I get it all the time. It's pretty much a boozy slushy. Not too heavy on the alcohol, which is fine, but I already know that I'm coming here with an appetite. The peach flavor is pronounced, but not too aggressive. The raspberry drizzle adds a nice, barely noticeable contrast. Plus the drink is just a beauty to look at with the orange + fuchsia lines. APPETIZERS: Chicken & Biscuits - Current / "New" version = 8.2 / 10 (Original recipe version / No longer offered was a 9.5 / 10) A "new addition" to the menu, I had to try this as this was actually an entrée many, many, moons ago. In fact, every time I tried to try anything else, I always found myself falling back to order this. That said, the recipe had changed (not for the better) & it was never the same again. That said, this rendition has some of the "DNA" of my all-time original favorite dish (mainly through the gravy), but it's still not exactly the superstar that I so desperately wish it once was. 2 pieces of their standard chicken tenders sandwiched between 2 fluffy, homemade biscuits. What really made the OG version a knockout was the combination of their addictive biscuits saturated in their thick, rich, creamy gravy. Here, one side of each biscuit is left untouched by the gravy. If I get this dish again, I would order an additional side of that gravy to saturate the heck out of this entire dish. Egg Roll Sampler A great choice when you have "choice paralysis" like me -- Avocado Egg Rolls = 8.7 / 10 I know friends who would come just for the avocado egg rolls. The creamy avocado contrast nicely with the crisp wrapper. Tex Mex Egg Rolls = 8.0 / 10 Nothing too standout. Chicken, beans, corn, peppers, onions, cheese are always a classic combination. It all does kind of "get lost in the proverbial sauce". Cheeseburger Egg Rolls = 8.9 / 10 My personal favorite but especially because of the accompanying "burger sauce". The meat in the egg rolls alone have a noticeable oniony flavor which I very much appreciate. I might have to order these by themselves next time I come. Chicken Taquitos = 7.5 / 10 Nothing too extraordinary here. Again, chicken that gets lost into whichever sauce that you choose to dip it in. As safe as a choice can be. ENTRÉE Louisiana Chicken Pasta = 9.0 / 10 Made some modifications - 1) Change the default accompanying pasta from bowtie. Personally, I think the fettuccini is the best vehicle for capturing that luxurious spicy, cream sauce. 2) Ask for an extra side of the sauce (served in a gravy boat). 3) My server suggested a side of the Buffalo Sauce. Best. Move. Ever. The "Louisiana" cream sauce is what makes this dish. It's spicy, but not too spicy. It has a nice background heat. Chicken was fried to a perfect crisp & not dry at all. I would happily get this dish again, but just make sure to make any necessary adjustments to tailor it to your liking. The boost of heat from the buffalo sauce is the kick that I didn't know that I needed & a welcome pro tip from my server. DESSERTS Key Lime Cheesecake - 9.2 / 10 A personal favorite of my friend's. I've never had any kind of key lime dessert before. I get it. I actually very much like the tartness of lime. But I've been told that key limes are different from regular limes in that they are not as tart. I like it. It's different & unique. Light, bright, citrusy that cuts through the all too familiar "heaviness" of a cheesecake. The whipped cream florets are also always a nice light contrast to rich, decadent cheesecake. Mango Key Lime Cheesecake - 9.3 / 10 Similar to the aforementioned Key Lime, but the layer of mango mousse provides a nice tangy contrast that balances the slight tartness of the lime. An unexpectedly welcome combination. Who would had ever thought that Mango + Key Limes are a killer combination. Apparently this is a thing & I'm just out of the "flavor loop". Regardless, I will happily keep this in my order rotation of cheesecakes. Especially if I'm not in the mood for something chocolate-related. HUGE shoutout to Robert T. for being my all-time favorite server at CF. Literally the most professional server who's on-top of everything. He's the kind of guy that you'd meet at an event & strike up a good conversation. The team is lucky to have him & if management is reading this, he really is a standout who deserves a raise. Having never met him before, I will most definitely request him (& recommend him to all of my friends) for all of my future visits to this location. A+

Immediately we noticed that the…read moreinside of the restaurant was nicely decorated and well lit, an appropriate space for a lovely dinner, or so we thought. At the time the dining room was sparsely populated, only a few other tables were seated. We were seated quickly by the hostess and ordered within a few minutes of sitting down; my wife ordered the seafood pasta I ordered the butternut squash ravioli and the tomato burrata salad as an appetizer. After about 20 minutes the waitress returned to let us know that they were out of the pasta, so my wife asked for the risotto instead. The salad arrived quickly, however my wife noted that it was missing grilled peaches that were listed in the menu description, a disappointment. The salad itself was balsamic dressed cherry tomatoes with a single piece of burrata on top. Another 40 minutes later our entrees finally arrived. Much to my dismay my dish lacked any appreciable character; it was as if they had cooked six month old frozen pasta and thrown up a brown sauce with fried sage on top. My wife's risotto was mostly cheese but was also similarly devoid of other flavors. Now to be fair to the folks here, I did mention to the waitstaff that the flavors in the food were off and they did reduce the bill. They were also apologetic about the wait we faced. Nevertheless, restaurants have three things they need to do well in order to be successful: food, service and ambience. Perhaps if they improved the quality of the food and the time to service more people would come. Needless to say, but I won't be returning.

I'd been wanting to go back and take Dear Hubby to enjoy this very special re-imagining of the previous space, which had been an Irish pub incarnation. When our sister-in-law and two nieces were in town, the five of us were able to spend a quick evening together at Selvin's. We had been working on a project at our house, and by the time we got finished and ready to go out there wasn't a lot of time left as we went on a weeknight and they close at 9:00. I'm surprised that having a full bar, and being attached to a hotel property, that they would hang it up so early - even 9:30 or 10:00 would make more sense. It's such a charming place; seems a shame to have to call it a night so early. The ambiance is absolutely divine, especially out here in suburbia. It's very innovative in its layout. The lighting was carefully planned and is very effective in creating a special mood. And, what can be said about the wall of roses? It's tailor-made for snapping fun photos, that's for sure. The chef is sending out creative and Dee-Licious dishes from the kitchen. Yes, I know how to spell delicious, but it is worth adding the accented flair to stating the fact that this is a cut above many other dining establishments in the Conejo Valley. Dear Hubby and I shared Pappardelle Pasta and a Tuna Tartare appetizer. Both were excellent. One of our nieces ordered the taco platter. Wait till you see the photo. The only thing that was disappointing, menu-wise, was that bread wasn't included, so we ordered some as a side. Two little slices. I've forgotten the price, but I recall that it turned into sticker shock when we saw what was served. I'm tickled that they offer a nice array of zero proof cocktail options. They aren't inexpensive - apparently spirits without alcohol aren't any less (or maybe only slightly less?) than the full-spirited options. Still, it's nice to have the option. Our out of town family members LOVED Selvin's; it was a big hit with all of us. As an added bonus, there was a guitarist playing beautiful acoustic music when we arrived and were seated in the lounge area. Major extra credit!
