Nicole (the event coordinator I believe) was super sweet in our email. Very patient and thorough with the process. But upon arrival to the actual winery, it was so chaotic. There was no table reserved like they told us there would be. They walked us over to another group of Asians and said they thought we were there with them. So we ended up making our own table. The food was expensive af and we had to wave down people multiple times to give us menus and take our orders. Just getting settled took like 45 minutes bc no one was really paying attention to us. For wine, you have to go up to order it yourself. But the food was good, just super small portioned and expensive for what it is. Although the view was nice, it was too windy or cold to do anything. First off the views are spectacular. There is a breath of fresh air when being this high up in Malibu. Parking is valet, $20. I don't think you can self park but we didn't really ask. Wine was decent but a bit on the pricier side. I think you are also paying for the pictures/views. The flight pictured cost $55 and I got a glass of the white sangria for $30. In total for a flight and a glass of sangria it was around $93. So be prepared to drop some $ when coming here unless wine isn't your vibe. Service was okay. I will add I am biased as I live in Sonoma County and I think our local wineries have excellent service. When you make a reservation in Sonoma County there is a server assigned to you and they constantly pour your wine and give you water. The service here was different. I will say it was packed and I personally don't know if it was just an off day. But we had a reservation and we never were checked on. We had to ask a worker and go inside the building to ask how service here works. Which was a different experience to say the least. We only got water when we asked for it after getting our wine, and I did notice others immediately got water the moment they sat. And no the others were not wine members. Which I thought was interesting but like I said maybe they had a busy day. Overall, the views were great. The burger was delicious. The wine was pretty good but pricey. Cielo Farms has beautiful scenery! We had a picnic and wine tasting on the terrace, where we spent 3 hours eating food and tasting five types of wine at a gorgeous winery in Malibu! There was live music, and you sat outside under canopies, so you didn't have to worry about the sun shining straight down on you. Besides the $99/per person tickets for this event, you can also buy a picnic basket with cheese, sandwiches, etc., for $99. However, if you decide not to purchase the basket beforehand, you can bring any food you want and non-alcoholic drinks. The organizers also provided bottles of water. Also, your ticket includes parking for free. Gorgeous is the perfect word to describe the scenery. The wine was fantastic! The music was beautifully played. The sandwiches I brought were tasty. This place seems more enjoyable if you're a member, which I guess makes sense. But if you're not a member, it could be worth a one-time visit because of the views. All of the good seats overlooking the hills are always reserved by members, even if they are not there yet. It seems they have a system allowing members to reserve tables whenever however long they want without even showing up, so that was a little disappointing as it's not a cheap place of course. The wine selection was fine, though not many options for a winery. They had two food truck-type options for food. Wagyu burgers and pizza, so not your typical options for a winery. The team is not responsive when u ask questions but quick to take ur deposit . They lack transparency and professionalism. There are far more better wineries to visit . The response from management particularly Matthew Cohen was surprisingly dismissive in tone and not reflective of the level of professionalism you would expect from a venue of this caliber. Feedback and concerns should be important . Very ill behavior from management. Unfortunately, the staff experience significantly detracted from what could have been a beautiful visit. We arrived on a day of heavy rain without a prior reservation and were told we could not enter without one. We immediately made a reservation and were allowed in, as we were the only guests there, however, the interaction felt unfriendly from the very beginning. After making the reservation, we attempted to access the gate but no one answered the phone. Eventually, an employee came from behind and entered the gate code for us. When we parked and walked toward the entrance in the pouring rain, staff were leaving in a golf cart and did not pause or make space for guests trying to get inside out of the rain, which felt discourteous. Once we reached the entrance, there was no greeting, no welcome, and no assistance. We even struggled to identify the proper entrance, and still no one offered help. The bar staff were kind and helpful, but overall the operation felt disorganized and lacking hospitality. In today's hospitality landscape, the experience matters from start to finish. As a business owner in Los Angeles myself, I genuinely hope management takes the time to read and reflect on recurring feedback. This is an incredible, beautiful property with so much potential but luxury is defined by service, attentiveness, and how guests are treated from the moment they arrive. Questions were met with sarcasm, basic courtesy was absent, and there was a clear tone of disrespect that made us feel unwelcome and embarrassed. Nothing about the interaction suggested professionalism, hospitality, or even basic decency. A winery should be about relaxation, enjoyment, and hospitality. Instead, this felt like being policed by someone on a power trip who had no business dealing with the public. No amount of scenery or wine can compensate for being treated with contempt. So I'm a wine chick all day and I try wineries all the time....BUT this was my worse wine experience so far. The place very pretty on the outside but not ALL that. I was not impressed at all nor those who were in my party. I did not like that the couches and linen were filthy! Felt it was not clean and should have been dusted before opening. Also, I dislike how they never answer their phone , but right after someone sends a text. I think that is very weird and unprofessional. Another con I do not like here is that the prices are quite expensive. $60 for flight of wine can go far elsewhere I'm sure. They need to be more do diverse and play other types of music to accommodate all guests. They have a cute area to take pics, so that what's made it cute . Honestly, this place has gone downhill a lot since the last time I visited exactly one year ago. It now feels like a money grab. All the good tables with the view are reserved for "members only." If you ask, you might get a reserved table, which we did, but it wasn't even a view table. Last year, you could sit anywhere and walk around freely, the atmosphere felt much more welcoming. The food was also disappointing. The pizza wasn't fully cooked, which is unacceptable for a restaurant at this price point. The bathrooms are another issue. They're basically construction-style bathrooms, and they've been like that since my last visit. For a place charging these prices, that's not okay. As we tried to check in for our table, the hostess had no record of our reservation. Franciele was our main point of contact, but she was not helpful or transparent about what our total cost would be. Our total bill at the end of the night was $1,000 more than what she quoted us. Thankfully I had email receipts showing our table minimum of $2K, but somehow our waitress had an envelope showing $2,500 as our minimum. Had to speak to a manager to correct the situation. After booking, I received no further communication specifically, nothing indicating that the venue would be closed for a wedding on that day. Upon arrival, the experience was deeply disappointing. The tasting consisted of several employees gathered around a table chatting with each other, and guests seated at tables with three wine glasses each; don't expect a single cracker here. The so-called "guided experience" amounted to the same person who poured us a glass of champagne on the walkway briefly identifying each wine in about five seconds, with no meaningful explanation or engagement. The pours were light to average at best and on their terms they returned to fill our glasses that had been empty for some time. This was intended as a birthday celebration, yet it ended up being the worst and most expensive wine tasting I have ever experienced. I left feeling completely underwhelmed and misled. The setting itself only added to the dissatisfaction: fake grass, a makeshift tent, and a dirt parking lot where "valet" simply parked cars a few feet from where guests entered. It was clear that the best vantage points were off-limits due to the private wedding taking place at the main venue on the top of the hill. Bottom line: Views were nice, wine was underwhelming, the staff lacked training, the website needs improvement, and charging full price for a downgraded experience in a tent is unacceptable. Driving over an hour to experience the "Spirit Airlines" of wine tastings was certainly a choice and will never be back. read more

Comedy night at Ceilo Farms Winery was ridiculous--and not in a good way. First, parking is valet only at $22, with no alternative. Once inside, the seating situation was rough. Although advertised as covered, heaters were extremely sparse. The only area that seemed properly heated was the $300 couch seating, while general admission guests sat freezing in a wind tunnel coming up through the canyon. It was cold, uncomfortable, and impossible to relax. As for the comedy--honestly, the biggest joke was expecting people to pay for this event at all. The food and drink pricing was shocking for what you get. A $37 margarita pizza arrived at about 7 inches in diameter, and a $45 pepperoni pizza was the same size with only four pieces of pepperoni. Wine wasn't any better: a $55 tasting flight with very small pours, and $35 per glass for a small pour of mediocre wine. Between the uncomfortable conditions, inflated prices, and lackluster experience, this night felt more like a cash grab than an enjoyable event. Definitely not worth the cost. read more

Posting this review to warn those interested about why it's not 5 stars: They require you to use Premiere Party Rents for rentals. Had a horrible experience with them where they added thousands of dollars in extra fees they couldn't justify. They were very expensive, rude, far (in Torrance), and also lied/played games about acceptable payment methods. The wedding planning experience can be rough and you deal with all types of people. We just visited for my son's birthday. The host was very confused. The waiters were very slow and they rarely came to our table to take orders. We asked for ice four times only after four times someone showed up with the ice. The food served was below average quality we took pizza and pasta. Even simple pepperoni pizza quality was poor quality. Our bill was $1100 and for that price we only got mediocre food and very average wine. The place has OK vibe but definitely not what it is advertised for. The waiter brought water without any glasses we had to wait another 10 minutes for glasses to arrive. I wonder what the expectation was to just drink from the bottle? This is a place where you can probably go and just walk to the wine bar and just take a glass and start walking in the area and that would be it. You see a waiter and you ask for a food they respond that they are servers for a drink only and they can't take any orders for food. You have to search for waiters and hoping they will bring timely. Second time here and absolutely love this spot. This spot is tucked away alongside Mulholland Highway transporting you to a scenic winery at the top of the hill. In comparison to wineries in Napa, the prices here are fairly reasonable, offering much more of a variety in charcuterie options. Highly recommend for groups of friends or a romantic date night! Our experience at this winery was very disappointing due to the manager's behavior. We stepped outside the restaurant to smoke, not realizing it was a non-smoking property. The manager followed us outside and informed us of the policy. We immediately said we didn't know and were already walking back inside with him, fully complying. As we were walking in, the manager aggressively said, "If this happens one more time, I will kick you out." My friend simply responded, "Oh no," without any rude language or attitude. At that point, the manager escalated the situation and said he was kicking us out for "speaking." He then accused her of rolling her eyes -- which is impossible, since he was walking in front of her and she was wearing sunglasses. We sat back down at our table, and the manager returned and told us we could stay to finish our food but that he would no longer serve us alcohol -- even though we had already ordered and paid for wine. The wine was left untouched on the table. Given how we were treated -- like children instead of paying customers -- we chose to leave and not eat the food either. We are all successful professionals and we have never felt so disrespected and treated like children. This entire situation could have been handled calmly and professionally. Instead, it turned into an unnecessary power trip that ruined our visit. We will not be returning and would not recommend this winery based on the manager's conduct. It is impossible to ignore that this situation felt racially motivated. We were treated with immediate hostility and suspicion despite being respectful, compliant, and calm. The way the manager escalated the situation so quickly, made false accusations, and punished us without cause felt like racial profiling rather than a response to our behavior. read more

My daughter ordered a bottle of wine, not the best quality: $140. So be prepared to spend some money for the views.
