We had our wedding here, and it truly was the most beautiful and magical day of our lives! We originally chose Cielo Farms because of the incredible views and the fact that both the ceremony and reception are outdoors. We loved being able to enjoy the sunset over the Malibu hills throughout the entire evening, and it ended up being even more stunning than we imagined. We also ran into an issue with our original wedding date, and Robert and Nicole were very flexible and accommodating throughout the process, which we really appreciated. Every part of our wedding day was absolutely beautiful, and we couldn't recommend Cielo Farms more to anyone considering it for their wedding. It's such a special place, and we already can't wait to come back and celebrate our anniversary here! read more

Do NOT go here. They are scammers and overcharge while admitting it to you and will NOT refund you for their mistakes!!! The owner and management are SO UNPROFESSIONAL!!!!!!!! Read the comments he writes on reviews. It's disgusting. I cannot believe they speak to paying customers this way! We went for my friend's birthday and we each paid $50-100 to get in. That money does not include anything it's just to get in...then we had to pay $20 each for parking...once we got in the wine was $35 a glass. There was a big group of us so we decided to get a table at the end we split the payment and my card was overcharged. I have an email from the general manager that they overcharged us, but he will not refund me. My credit card is saying they will not refund me either because they're receiving documentation from them saying that this is a correct charge which it is not. The only way the manager will refund me is if me and two of my friends who do not live close by go in. I'm not driving an hour away and paying $20 for parking to get refunded for their mistake. This place is a total scam!!! I recommend you go somewhere else like Malibu wines or any other winery but this one. They take advantage of anybody they can. Edit to reply to owner- I never asked for credit card info. I asked to be refunded the amount you admitted to overcharging without me traveling to fix your mistake which you will not do. Your reply shows that you are a scam and whoever shows the truth about your place of business or gives their opinion gets "banned". Don't worry we will not be coming back so we can get scammed by you again. I will be reporting this to the Better Business Bureau and every media outlet as well. read more

I really wanted to love this place because it's so close to home, and I was excited to have a new winery to visit instead of always driving to Temecula. Unfortunately, the customer service completely overshadowed what should have been a fun birthday celebration. I made a reservation for 8 people, which later increased to 10. When we arrived, the hostess was incredibly kind and seated us in the couch area, letting us know we had a 2-hour limit, which we were completely happy to respect. By the time everything settled, four people had canceled, so there were only six of us. The hostess and valet were wonderful, but unfortunately that was where the positive experience ended. About an hour into our reservation (with over an hour still remaining), a staff member approached us and accused us of lying about the size of our party because they needed the couch area for a larger group. If they had simply come over and politely asked if we'd be willing to move to one of the many open smaller tables, we would have gladly done so. We were there to celebrate, not make anyone's job harder. Instead, multiple staff members approached us within minutes of each other, each becoming more abrupt than the last. We had already told the first employee that we were wrapping things up, and literally just a few minutes later another employee came over with even more attitude insisting they needed the space. At that point, I simply said we'd leave. His response was, "Thank you," in a tone that made us feel completely unwelcome. To make matters worse, a wine flight was accidentally delivered to our table that none of us ordered. We politely let the staff know because we didn't want to be charged for something that wasn't ours, and instead of an apology or even checking what happened, we were met with skepticism, as though we were trying to get away with something. We never touched the flight--we simply wanted to make sure the mistake was corrected. What disappointed me most wasn't that they needed the table back. I completely understand restaurants and wineries have to accommodate guests and maximize seating. It was the way we were spoken to throughout the experience. Hospitality goes a long way, and a simple, respectful conversation would have changed everything. We weren't loud, disrespectful, or causing any issues. We still tipped our server because we believe in taking care of service staff, but the overall experience left us feeling uncomfortable and honestly put a damper on my birthday. The scenery is beautiful, and the location has so much potential. Unfortunately, the customer service made the experience feel anything but welcoming. I rarely leave negative reviews, but I hope this feedback encourages management to focus on how guests are treated. A little kindness and professionalism would have made all the difference. Sadly, I don't see myself returning. We did however leave and ended up going to paradise cove right on the beach and the staff was AMAZING so I'm glad it happened but I hope this never happens to someone else Also very over priced for basic items/food. The staff also just didn't seem like they knew what we were doing and we had to flag them down because service was so slow (mind you there was so many of them just kind of huddled not being attentive) and like they didn't even want to be there I'd like to add because I don't know how to reply to your comment as a manager We never ordered that extra flight and let them know immediately and also they never asked us to relocate as I stated we would've been happy to had them asked us nicely as stated above we enjoying our time until the staff spoke so rudely to us. Clearly this was not well documented because we only ordered 2 total flights and being spoken to like that is unacceptable. It's very disappointing to continue to be treated poorly there was multiple people there who can attest to what I'm saying. I guess you just ban people without getting all the facts and have never experienced this ever. I understand guests number changes AGAIN we would've been happy to move if asked nicely nobody offered or asked us to relocate . Also we forsure never ordered an extra flight so again another staff member lying when it's totally fine if it was mistakenly brought to our table. Best of wishes to your business. Sad sharing my experience got me banned it is what it is I just hope no one ever feels uncomfortable for a place with potential read more

Its one of the most beautiful and romantic wineries in Los Angeles, gorgeous view and a very cute barn. The charcuterie board is made well, and the food is also good, their pizzas are usually on point. The only reason I'm giving them 4 stars, is their high cost for very low quality wines, and the way they serve the wine. read more

Came here for a wedding, and honestly, wow. It was a bit of a drive for us to get out to Malibu, but the second you step onto the property, you feel like you've been transported to a completely different world. The landscaping, the lush plants, and the rolling vineyard scenery are just stunning. The layout for the wedding ceremony was perfect as everything was set up overlooking the Malibu canyon and the grapevines. We caught the sunset during the reception, and it was pure magic. Service was outstanding from start to finish. Valet parking was smooth and efficient, and the bar was fully stocked with bartenders who actually kept the line moving fast. The sound system was great too (no awkward mic feedback or muffled music), and once the sun went down and the temperature dropped, they had fire pits going to keep everyone warm and cozy. Such a beautiful, well-run hidden place. If you get invited to an event here, absolutely go! read more

What a wonderful experience, everything was just perfect, weather was perfect, service was top notch, not that crowded on a Saturday. Wines were excellent and the food tasted amazing with the perfect view! Valet available so parking is not to worry about. Prices were definitely reasonable. Definitely a place to spend your day at and day drink with some delicious food. Highly recommended!! read more

Attended a bachelorette party here and had such a nice time. It's a beautiful place with gorgeous views of the Malibu hills and other vineyards. Our group tried a lot of wines, but my favorite was the rosé. So refreshing. The sangria was also a hit. We ordered a couple charcuterie boards and pizzas, too. The former was really good and had a nice selection of finger foods. The pizza I would give maybe 3.5 stars out of 5. Flavor was pretty good but it was doughy and a bit flimsy. We had the Margherita and one with pepperoni and jalapeños. Loved the live music and the fact they had waiters and a little bar just for ordering wine. I will say the service was a bit sporadic but it was packed when we got there and we had a big group. The main reasons I took off a star though was because parking was annoying af and cost $25. There was also only one bathroom and it was in one of those trailer type ones you see at events and movie sets. There was always a long line whenever you had to go. I'd still go back for a special occasion, but it's definitely an expensive experience. read more

First off the views are spectacular. There is a breath of fresh air when being this high up in Malibu. Parking is valet, $20. I don't think you can self park but we didn't really ask. Wine was decent but a bit on the pricier side. I think you are also paying for the pictures/views. The flight pictured cost $55 and I got a glass of the white sangria for $30. In total for a flight and a glass of sangria it was around $93. So be prepared to drop some $ when coming here unless wine isn't your vibe. Service was okay. I will add I am biased as I live in Sonoma County and I think our local wineries have excellent service. When you make a reservation in Sonoma County there is a server assigned to you and they constantly pour your wine and give you water. The service here was different. I will say it was packed and I personally don't know if it was just an off day. But we had a reservation and we never were checked on. We had to ask a worker and go inside the building to ask how service here works. Which was a different experience to say the least. We only got water when we asked for it after getting our wine, and I did notice others immediately got water the moment they sat. And no the others were not wine members. Which I thought was interesting but like I said maybe they had a busy day. Overall, the views were great. The burger was delicious. The wine was pretty good but pricey. But service could definitely be better. Maybe a QR code might help the confusion regarding how the service works here. Overall cool spot to try. read more

This place seems more enjoyable if you're a member, which I guess makes sense. But if you're not a member, it could be worth a one-time visit because of the views. All of the good seats overlooking the hills are always reserved by members, even if they are not there yet. It seems they have a system allowing members to reserve tables whenever however long they want without even showing up, so that was a little disappointing as it's not a cheap place of course. The wine selection was fine, though not many options for a winery. They had two food truck-type options for food. Wagyu burgers and pizza, so not your typical options for a winery. Overall we probably won't go back but if you want to go for the Instagram pic, I get it! read more

Cielo Farms has beautiful scenery! We had a picnic and wine tasting on the terrace, where we spent 3 hours eating food and tasting five types of wine at a gorgeous winery in Malibu! There was live music, and you sat outside under canopies, so you didn't have to worry about the sun shining straight down on you. Besides the $99/per person tickets for this event, you can also buy a picnic basket with cheese, sandwiches, etc., for $99. However, if you decide not to purchase the basket beforehand, you can bring any food you want and non-alcoholic drinks. The organizers also provided bottles of water. Also, your ticket includes parking for free. Gorgeous is the perfect word to describe the scenery. The wine was fantastic! The music was beautifully played. The sandwiches I brought were tasty. And the company (winks into the mirror) was breathtaking! This is a must-do experience! This is also perfect for small groups or for a romantic date-day experience! read more

Fantastic! The Food and drinks and service are excellent. Their Honey Pie wine is lovely. Good band playing the day we were there. Fun! Be aware: The parking is a tad expensive but it's Malibu. Just be very careful if you are a woman and you like to wear heels. The walk from parking and just the grounds themselves can be rough and dangerous on those on heels. read more

While the views are stunning, every other element is lack luster. First off, they charge you a $35 dollar fee for admission. What a joke! Just to be clear, there is NOT a tasting room. So $35 just to be there. LOL. You can order a $50 dollar tasting "flight" or a bottle of wine between $88-$104 dollars. Yep, for a no name wine brand you never heard of. Hungry? You can order a $60 charcuterie board. LOL. Do yourself a favor, skip this place. TOTAL RIP OFF. Visit a real winery with real tasting room. read more

Unfortunately, the staff experience significantly detracted from what could have been a beautiful visit. We arrived on a day of heavy rain without a prior reservation and were told we could not enter without one. We immediately made a reservation and were allowed in, as we were the only guests there, however, the interaction felt unfriendly from the very beginning. After making the reservation, we attempted to access the gate but no one answered the phone. Eventually, an employee came from behind and entered the gate code for us. When we parked and walked toward the entrance in the pouring rain, staff were leaving in a golf cart and did not pause or make space for guests trying to get inside out of the rain, which felt discourteous. Once we reached the entrance, there was no greeting, no welcome, and no assistance. We even struggled to identify the proper entrance, and still no one offered help. The bar staff were kind and helpful, but overall the operation felt disorganized and lacking hospitality. In today's hospitality landscape, the experience matters from start to finish. As a business owner in Los Angeles myself, I genuinely hope management takes the time to read and reflect on recurring feedback. This is an incredible, beautiful property with so much potential but luxury is defined by service, attentiveness, and how guests are treated from the moment they arrive. This could be an amazing place, but based on this experience, it is not one I would return to. Wine was okay. Views amazing but anywhere in Malibu is beautiful in my opinion.. read more

Avoid coming to this place at all costs! Horrible service, rude staff who don't even know what they're supposed to be doing. The amount of social media posters who rudely stand next to your table to get the perfect selfie. The lack of staff on a busy day who could address the above. In addition, who could explain what your wine tastings are. The porta potty buildings. The fake worn out turf. The prices. It's cheaper in Napa and Paso Robles and Cambria and Rome for tasters and bottles of wine. Paying $35 to get a reservation which does not give you any credit. You will still be paying $35 to park. This is a beautiful property (besides the turf) and brings in a good profit so these should be easy fixes. I will not return and I am a local. read more

So I'm a wine chick all day and I try wineries all the time....BUT this was my worse wine experience so far. The place very pretty on the outside but not ALL that. I was not impressed at all nor those who were in my party. I did not like that the couches and linen were filthy! Felt it was not clean and should have been dusted before opening. Also, I dislike how they never answer their phone , but right after someone sends a text. I think that is very weird and unprofessional. Another con I do not like here is that the prices are quite expensive. $60 for flight of wine can go far elsewhere I'm sure. They need to be more do diverse and play other types of music to accommodate all guests. They have a cute area to take pics, so that what's made it cute . It was my birthday celebration and we left because it was not a good experience. Overall, I will not come back but I'm happy I tried it out! There is only valet parking too! -Marshay D. read more

Nicole (the event coordinator I believe) was super sweet in our email. Very patient and thorough with the process. But upon arrival to the actual winery, it was so chaotic. There was no table reserved like they told us there would be. They walked us over to another group of Asians and said they thought we were there with them. So we ended up making our own table. The food was expensive af and we had to wave down people multiple times to give us menus and take our orders. Just getting settled took like 45 minutes bc no one was really paying attention to us. For wine, you have to go up to order it yourself. But the food was good, just super small portioned and expensive for what it is. Although the view was nice, it was too windy or cold to do anything. Overall, I think there are better wineries out there. read more

Cielo Farms Winery was one of the most disappointing winery experiences I've ever had, and the blame rests squarely on management. From the moment we arrived, the manager's attitude was hostile, dismissive, and needlessly confrontational. My wife and I were spoken to like unruly teenagers rather than paying adult guests. Questions were met with sarcasm, basic courtesy was absent, and there was a clear tone of disrespect that made us feel unwelcome and embarrassed. Nothing about the interaction suggested professionalism, hospitality, or even basic decency. A winery should be about relaxation, enjoyment, and hospitality. Instead, this felt like being policed by someone on a power trip who had no business dealing with the public. No amount of scenery or wine can compensate for being treated with contempt. We left frustrated, insulted, and absolutely certain we will never return. There are far too many wineries that know how to treat guests with respect to waste time or money here. Do not recommend. Edit: Hey manager! You're rep at the facility was a rude prick that treated us like we were children. We have better sense than to disrespect anyone or any business without merit. Put your staff in their place before someone with a shorter temper throws them down the hill. We were there for half an hour and your guy came and TOLD us we can't order anything else. You should pay for our bill Mr. Racial Profiler. You need to send your staff to etiquette classes on how to react with your guests. Your fabricated response to justify your staffs behavior is petty and unprofessional. My group should've received an apology rather than you weaseling yourself to respond with an unmerited justification on your staffs behavior. read more

Overall, the experience felt a bit underwhelming compared to previous visits. It used to feel livelier and more fun. On the plus side, I appreciate that Novikov is now part of the experience, and the food consistently hits the mark. The canyon-side tables reserved for members-only feel exclusive but also a bit limiting, which can be frustrating if you're just visiting. $400, for two people to sit at picnic style table setting with no view, was not anything to come back to. read more

The views are amazing, the venue beautiful. No complaints there... We chose it as our wedding venue and can't regret it, except that we did have a few management issues. From the outset, we had technical issues with the signing of the contract. It took several weeks to complete. Jamie was nice enough to allow us a free tasting on the weekend, but when we got there, there was no reservation for us. The staff was kind and allowed us the free tasting once we showed them the email coordinating it all. There were a few times when costs were asked of us, but were not in the contract. We respectfully showed management the contract, and they took responsibility. Catering charged us extra meals for staff during the event, which was not disclosed to us by Cielo, but Cielo ended up covering it. Cielo also introduced a permanent pergola a couple months before the wedding, which was not disclosed to me, and offset my plans for dinner tables right where they placed it. I had to completely change my layout and notify all my vendors of this change. It was an unfortunate headache that could have been prevented with more notice. All the wine was delicious, so there was no problem with taste. But as we had signed the contract believing the cost of wine would not change, it did change, and we were put in a position to buy the wine at the lower price before we had even tasted it, or wait and go with the higher price. Ultimately, after some pushback, Cielo allowed us to have our tasting and keep the lower cost. Generally, things in the contract were not double-checked or thoroughly written out, and we were expected to take on any costs as a result. With some pushback, we side-lined those costs. Again, this venue is absolutely beautiful. Even the staff during the wedding was outstanding, including security (which kept away unwanted guests) and the restroom attendant (who was very kind when I needed privacy to use the restroom because of my big dress). We just had many issues with management that required extra effort on our part. read more

Honestly, this place has gone downhill a lot since the last time I visited exactly one year ago. It now feels like a money grab. All the good tables with the view are reserved for "members only." If you ask, you might get a reserved table, which we did, but it wasn't even a view table. Last year, you could sit anywhere and walk around freely, the atmosphere felt much more welcoming. The food was also disappointing. The pizza wasn't fully cooked, which is unacceptable for a restaurant at this price point. The bathrooms are another issue. They're basically construction-style bathrooms, and they've been like that since my last visit. For a place charging these prices, that's not okay. Overall, the experience was a huge letdown compared to before. I wouldn't come back and definitely wouldn't recommend it. read more

Beautiful setting but everything is extremely overpriced. Worst of all is the $25 mandatory valet parking to which they add a credit card fee and expect a tip. Terrible experience and not worth the price. Came to celebrate a birthday with bottle service. Right from the beginning it started off unorganized. As we tried to check in for our table, the hostess had no record of our reservation. Franciele was our main point of contact, but she was not helpful or transparent about what our total cost would be. Our total bill at the end of the night was $1,000 more than what she quoted us. Thankfully I had email receipts showing our table minimum of $2K, but somehow our waitress had an envelope showing $2,500 as our minimum. Had to speak to a manager to correct the situation. I'd recommend saving your money and finding a different venue. Franciele and the rest of her team are just there to get you drunk so you don't pay attention to your bill.
