We got married at Oak Canyon Ranch on last April. Everything was gorgeous and green. We had the best weather ever on that day. Not too hot and not cold. I always had a dream of having my ceremony under the oak tree, but finding the nice oak tree in LA can be very hectic. I was so lucky that I found Oak Canyon Ranch with those gorgeous Oak trees. Denise the owner of this venue helped me a lot in all aspect of my wedding. I highly recommend this place if you would like to have an outdoor wedding with a reasonable cost. read more

Denise(Caterer/Chef), Wil (Bar/Drinks), and their team are consummate professionals and truly do everything in their power to make sure your event is perfect! In short, Oak Canyon Ranch is a wonderful venue to host your dream event! It was clear that Oak Canyon Ranch was going to be the perfect place for our Indian/American fusion wedding. Once we met Denise and Wil, it truly sealed the deal. We continue to get emails and phone calls about the food and drinks we had at our wedding! We worked closely with both Denise and Wil to come up with a menu that best complimented our event and reflected our style. It's an understatement to say that our guests were happy with everything they tasted and sipped! My husband and I had the great fortune of marrying here 12/12/15! This venue is nothing short of a dream. The century old oak trees, lush vegetation, and whimsical/expansive grounds are just a few features this venue has to offer. Our whole day, including ceremony and reception took place there. We honestly couldn't have been more pleased from the moment we chose it as the home for our day to the days now when we look back on it. The detail we have to absolutely mention is my that husband and I are vegans. We were so worried when many other venues and caters we considered were off put or lacked inspiration. When we told Denise we wanted our entire wedding vegan she didn't hesitate and wowed us at the tasting. The whole staff couldn't have been more accommodating. We felt spoiled that she created a 100% plant based cruelty free menu and that so many guests have remarked on how delicious the food was. Of the 20 or so venues my husband and I visited none compare to Oak Canyon Ranch !! Thank you especially to Denise for all you do! read more

My husband and I got married at Oak Canyon Ranch on September 19th. We had the pleasure of being the inaugural wedding in this beautiful space. The grounds and buildings are incredible on their own, but what truly impressed us on the day of was the great team making everything run smoothly. And deliciously. Our main contact was Denise, who was also our head chef. We met Denise in June when the original venue we had booked was forced to shut down. Needless to say, we were in a tough spot and the team at Oak Canyon Ranch did everything they could to accommodate us and turn a stressful experience into a smooth upgrade. Because seriously, this venue is GORGEOUS. We did the whole day at Oak Canyon Ranch: getting ready, ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing. There is plenty of space so each part of the evening flowed nicely while providing a little change in scenery. It's easy to move around and make everything feel unique. (Quick note for summer couples: it was a very hot day, but our ceremony was at 5pm and everyone was perfectly comfortable all night. The oaks offer a lot of cover and it was much cooler in the shade.) The bridal and groom's suites are stunning. The bridal suite is comprised of three connected rooms with two bathrooms including showers. The groom's suite is a single room (sorry boys) which is attached to the bridal suite. Catering was part of our package. Denise listened to what we wanted and helped us design a menu that both matched our taste and far exceeded our imaginations. We opted for buffet style, but Denise's team served a plated salad as soon as the guests were seated, which I thought was a nice touch. The salad was also delicious. Have I mentioned the food was good? So good. Everything went so smoothly. You wouldn't have guessed it was the first wedding there. Denise's team is a well oiled machine, built to accommodate every detail. We have the best memories of our lives from that night. read more

This is no doubt an stunning venue! My wedding was mid-May 2016, the weather was perfect; the venue had nice shades and breeze, so it wasn't hot at all! Denise is the head Chef - all her food were amazing! We had a sit-down 3 course dinner, all the guests loved them! Will the head bartender was amazing as well - we told him the drinks we wish to be served and he made it happen. Christine the planner/coordinator was patient and tried her best to make all our requests happen. Christine was very creative and could always find a way to solve any problems we had during the planning. The whole team listened to what we wanted and delivered results! The team was very professional and put tremendous efforts to make sure our wedding was perfect! Guests are still raving about how great the wedding turned out :) read more

I got married here in July and I have mixed feelings about the whole thing. On the positive side, our wedding was absolutely BEAUTIFUL. The grounds are truly stunning and the food was very good. On the other hand, working with Denise was kind of a trainwreck. When I first met her, she was very nice and super responsive. I partially picked the venue because of her responsiveness. However, by the time our wedding was coming up, she was extremely unresponsive. Apparently, I was not a priority anymore and it was very difficult for me to coordinate with my vendors because of her failure to respond. One week before my wedding, I scheduled my final walk through with her over email. I booked my coordinator to come along, left work early and drove one hour to Agoura Hills. She didn't show up! Her assistant HAPPENED to be there because she had just finished a tour and texted Denise who responded, "I don't have anything in my calendar and I can't make it because traffic is bad." She later emailed with a highly inadequate apology of "sorry about that" with no explanation. Such a waste of time and money and no time to reschedule because the wedding was a week away. Thankfully her assistant was able to help with a few of our questions. I was extremely angry but I still had to work with her on my actual wedding day so I just let it go. She also gave a lot of conflicting/ incorrect information. When touring the venue we noticed there is no cell service in the area but she assured me they would have wifi by the time my wedding came around so guests could post to social media. Well, come July, she told me they had wifi but it was for the staff to communicate and my guests could not have the password. At the tour she told me my guests could have champagne upon arrival. Later she said that would cost extra. Also, our venue contract was allllll wrong. We had to mark it up significantly so make sure you read the contract closely. There were plenty of other things but it's not worth detailing every misstep. By the end, she had a bit of an attitude and working with her was quite frustrating for both me and my husband. The day ended up going very well but mostly thanks to my amazing coordinator from Your Day by J and K. Wil from the beverage staff was great and, like I said, the venue is beautiful and the food was good. The venue is a lot cheaper than Saddlerock, for example, so it has its up sides but wedding planning is stressful and our experience at Oak Canyon definitely added to that stress. read more

My fiance and I went to look here for our wedding. In a few years this might be a great venue, but they're not there yet. The space is truly wonderful, so it makes me sad to say that we had to completely cross them off our list because NOTHING was included. If you are ok dealing with extra vendors then check this place out, but when ALL of the other places we have looked at included almost everything we didn't really want to deal with ordering tables, chairs, glasses, linens, etc. AND lighting. That's what got me the most - how can you be an outdoor space and have NO lighting?! That being said, if you are the creative type and looking for a pretty venue that is more of a blank slate, this is the place for you! You get the whole property to yourself and can use it in anyway you envision! For us, we were fine with venues that said "this is where you do ____" if that meant it came with everything. I'm all for adding extra, personal touches, but it felt like we were starting with nothing here and would have to add a lot of money and time. We did the math and these costs really added up, causing us to remove it from our list. Also, we felt Denise was rude and too sales focused. We JUST started look at venues (literally the day before) for our wedding that is 16 1/2 months away and as soon as we said we were still looking around she shutdown and told us multiple times that it wouldn't be available if we waited. The whole experience made us feel like we were being nickled and dimed and that's not what we want when planning our big day. read more

My wife and I were married at Oak Canyon Ranch on November 7th. We first saw the space on whim while both of our mothers were in town just 2 months prior. We were originally planning for a February wedding, but after chatting with Denise we realized we had everything we needed to get it done in November. Denise makes putting on a wedding feel so much easier than it should. We had just over 100 guests, but you could definitely have a bigger (or smaller) wedding here without a hassle. By including so much in the package, and having great relationships with vendors and planners, we were able to put on the wedding we wanted despite a much shorter timeline and we never felt like we sacrificed quality for convenience. Part of that is due to the natural beauty and versatility of the space. Hidden off in Triunfo Canyon Rd, the space is quiet, private, and gorgeous. We worked with one of Denise's recommended day of coordinators, Christine Lalonde (Memoire Events). The two of them and their terrific teams know how to tastefully light and serve the space well. We were able to stage our entire day at the ranch from the bridal party getting ready, to ceremony, and dancing. We were able to shoot photos up the mountain with some beautiful magic hour vistas. We got to have a wonderful tasting at Denise's other property the Lobo Castle before hand, and she was great at listening to our ideas and turning them into amazing menu items we could actually eat and our guests loved it. Since the wedding, all our guests have been raving about how beautiful the wedding and location was, how great the food was, and how much fun they had. No matter what, planning a wedding is stressful. Working with everyone at Oak Canyon gave us peace knowing everything was taken care of, and more importantly, that we were taken care of. Even if we spent the extra months until February planning and finding another location, it could not have been as perfect as things were here at Oak Canyon Ranch. We recently attended a wedding here and it was THE most beautiful setting ever! From the beautiful trees, the spotless grounds.....the neat and clean public areas......the OAK TREES! Just a stunning location and event. Most of the time when you attend a wedding, the food is lackluster at best...but not here! Everything from the cheese displays, the passed appetizers to the full barbeque themed buffet was truly delicious! And the staff could not be nicer or more helpful. If you are planning an outdoor wedding or event.....please check this site out as it is truly special....as our the people that work there. I am even thinking of planning a family reunion there one day soon......and would recommend it heartily! read more

My fiancé and I went to look here for our wedding venue, but we were really disappointed at the "caterers" flippant and condescending attitude. You see I had no idea this woman was the same person who owned Lobo Castle, and I had read some negative things about her service and I was apprehensive about viewing the place. However, my fiancé reassured me and we had called ahead to book an appointment anyway. We let them know our potential wedding dates and they scheduled us for a viewing. We showed up on time with no issue finding the place and spoke to the girl at what I assume was their office. They didn't offer us any water or pamphlets to look at, so we meandered around the site and waited about 20 min before the caterer/coordinator came to greet us. We asked the standard questions we asked all other venues, but each answer felt like a deflection and a brush off. For example, we asked about catering, who provides it and could we bring in our own? She scoffed and gave us the "NO! I'm the caterer!" and so we asked about menu "oh, I make anything". I asked for an example. She just repeated "I make anything." No examples, no insight, nothing. She asked us for the wedding date again and it was like the record skipped. We reminded her it was two years out (which by the way is totally normal and places are already booking for it). She immediately asked us why? Not the normal curious why, it was a belittling "Why?!" I was put off by her tone so I just told her money and asked for site information. We were also slated to view Lobo Castle for another potential option, but she gave us an "I don't think so..." we asked why? She said, "well... your date isn't even until 2018 (eye roll) and I won't even be doing events there by then anyway." Word of advice if you have a client tell you the date in advance and book a viewing for it, don't offer if it's not in line with your venue plans. It makes you look uncoordinated and unprofessional. We could have booked another appointment with the time we wasted. I would really press anyone looking to book this venue to reconsider. After all if this is how she was during the initial visit I can only imagine how big of a bullet we dodged in not having to work with her the day of. This place might be better if they hire some site coordinators and get some lighting. Keep in mind NOTHING is provided the site fee is $8,000 and NOTHING but the location is included. It is a lot of space, but I have gone to several other venues and so much more is included: valet, lighting, linens, chairs, etc. I will say at least she was kind enough to offer up other suggestions. Maybe that was because she got the feeling we were annoyed with our visit, or she just didn't want our business. . All in all we crossed Oak Ranch of the list and will not recommend the site to anyone. I know people have off days, but when it comes down to a rather big decision like where to have your wedding, the first impression of a place shouldn't be pulling teeth with the caterer. read more

We just celebrated our daughter's wedding at Oak Canyon Ranch. It was a success in every way. The food was the best we've EVER had at a wedding. Salad was served and the rest was a buffet. The servers were friendly and attentive, as was the entire staff, including the clean-up crew. The setting was -- to quote our guests -- "magical." I just had my wedding on 5.28.2016 here and it couldn't have been more spectacular! My guests raved about how cool the vibe is at this venue. Everyone had a blast dancing and drinking underneath the bistro lighting that swung from tree to tree. Definitely worth a visit - the pictures do not do this place justice! read more
