The cabin had everything we need, and the views of the lake are gorgeous! The beach is clean, and the people are friendly. The bar is also so laid back, with an updated rustic feel. They often have live music, and again the people are friendly and are there to just have a good time. Relaxed and fun vibes all around. Highly recommend!

I can always find a silver lining, but I am hard-pressed for this place. Also, I felt that I wished I had known...so this is for you: Don't go: Why? The owner is unhelpful, unfriendly...obviously more concerned about the cash in her long, greedy fingernails than the comfort of her guests. The cabins are dirty. Sticky floors that make the bottoms of your feet turn black. The "view" is not of the lake, but a crowded assortment of trailer R/Vs. (Nice people waved at us on the way in, though.) There is not one bar of soap or amenity to speak of. The beds bite. I am dumbfounded (how could someplace so ugly be in someplace so beautiful?) and so glad I checked out early. My friends and I decided to go to The Lodge on Harrisburg Lake for our annual cottage trip. This…read morelocation was chosen purely because it was halfway between both groups of people coming (in between Montreal and New York). If you are arriving there after work try to get there before it gets dark because finding the location in the mountains was quite tricky at night. THE CHALET: The Lodge has a few chalets and a main lodge with rooms. We rented out Chalet Wolf which sleeps 12 guests for 3 nights. It was only $200 per night and we had 10 people. The chalet itself was a lot bigger and nicer than we expected, the photos on their website does not do it justice. It has 3 stories, large parking space (can fit 3 cars). The kitchen was huge with all the equipment you will need, also had a BBQ on the patio. There 2 baths + 1 washroom, and many rooms with beds, it comfortably slept the 10 of us. AMENITIES: The lodge itself has a restaurant/bar where you will often find the owner, and his friendly Dalmation. There is a pool (not heated), pool and ping pong tables at the bar, a basketball and a tennis court. There is a small lake in walking distance, where you can ask the owner for his canoes, kayak and pedal boat (all free of charge). The lodge is surrounded by lots of space, we think it used to be a ranch of some sort, where we tossed around a frisbee. SERVICE: The owner is Polish and we believe he manages the business with his family. He is extremely friendly and helpful. We asked him for things like a large pot (to cook curry) and he got it for us right away. LOCATION: The location is right at the Adirondack mountains. We did not go exploring but it is a very quiet and spacious cottage country. There are also hiking trails but you need to drive there (~5km away). There is also a town not very far away where you can buy groceries but everything closes very early. The only complaint would be the amount of mosquitos/flies. It can be very overwhelming. We continuously drenched ourselves in mosquito repellant and wore clothing to cover but even then the deer flies (or whatever they are) had a good feast with us. The bites can get very irritating. All in all we had a lot of fun at this trip and best of all it was very affordable for the quality of the stay. I would definitely recommend for a large group of friends or families to stay at Chalet Wolf. They also have smaller and bigger chalets.

Great WiFi inside. Small tv/dvd player. Spacious, decorated simple and warm. The bedroom windows had little or no covering which made sleeping difficult. My kids were up at first light. Next time we stay we will be bringing sleep masks. Water pressure was great! Super hot water too. The staff are all extremely friendly and warm. They even had our chalet ready for us 4 hours early. We had dinner at the lodge one night. It was amazing! The Italian wedding soup...I had 3 bowls. My husband loved the cutlets and the chunky mashed potatoes were so delicious. And it was enough to feed an army. Everything is home made and extremely fresh. Comfort food. We also had breakfast the day we left. The pancakes were sensational. Bacon, eggs...absolutely delicious. There are a lot of bugs. A lot. Bring bug spray. The lake is absolutely beautiful and clean. Be prepared it is a steep short walk down a hill. My mother got winded on the way back up (she is a smoker). We ended up driving a little further down the road to a spot where we could drive up to so she wouldn't be left out. We will definitely be back. We really liked not being in Lake George which is a tourist trap. It was quiet and we had beautiful weather so we were able to be outside a lot. We loved the charm of the place as well as the staff. We loved having our own private house and the price is unbeatable. We packed (almost) everything we needed so we wouldn't have to do the long drive to town. Of course I forgot batteries and we had to do it. After we checked out we ended up heading to lake George to waste time and avoid traffic. It was so overwhelming and overstimulating after being in such a serene place at the lodge that we couldn't wait to leave. Thank you for such a great relaxing stay. We can't wait to be back!

The roads are narrow with large boulders on the sides and a narrow bridge to the other side of the campground. Lots of low hanging branches to catch up the coach. We had to wind through other RVs and vehicles to get to our assigned spot. The large trees where so close to the site it was impossible to get in with our 40 foot motorhome and had two large wooden platforms with broken boards covering an open hole and a facet leaking watermarking a muddy mess.They moved us to a back in site that was so narrow our slide was inches from the neighboring RV's awning. This park is not Star-Link friendly.

Also a large spider in the bathtub. Mattresses were the worse I have ever tried to sleep on. There were no box springs, just sheets of plywood. The mattresses were like mostly deflated air mattresses. Stove was leveled and was a safety concern when cooking bacon as the grease would overflow the back of the my griddle. The cookware and utensils were cheap and/or really beat.

We stayed here two nights at the beginning of August (2019) and couldn't have had a better experience. The new owners took over just two months prior, so they are busy doing upgrades to the camp office and store and around the campground. The upgrades being made did not impact the quality of camp sites or other facilities. Additionally, the personal attention provided by Will and his father made us feel like regulars. Will's father greeted me by name every time he saw me and would stop what he was doing to chat. We stayed at one of the full hookup sites during this visit. There are less than 50 total sites in the campground and only a hand-full had full hookups. Most did have water and electric. The sites are VERY Level, good sized, close, but spacious enough to have an enjoyable stay without being on top of each other. The cottages and motel looked nice from the outside. There is a nice sized and landscaped swimming pool, game room, and large community fire pit to enjoy. The location of the campground is ideal. Only two miles south of Lake George and a few miles north of the Outlet Mall. Another amenity is the paved bike path that goes along the back of the campground and runs between Lake George and Glen Falls. This was a great amenity and can help avoid all the traffic at Lake George by riding bikes into town. Overall this was a great place to stay to explore the area. Being smaller in size meant less traffic and noise, but didn't mean less enjoyment. The campground and buildings were well maintained and conveyed a welcoming atmosphere. The one area where Whippoorwill is lacking is the camp store/office, but this is the area they are currently updating so I expect great things in the future. We look forward to returning in the future.
