Obviously nothing that they can control, but when having to take your dog out at night, and all of the junk covered in tarps all around.. you tend to forget what is junk and what are large shadowy things in the night. Won't be back. They don't care if you come either. So don't bother. Much better places to stay in the area. I also feel their website is misleading. Leading with a huge picture of Lake George. Apparently, they have multiple campgrounds with the same and/or very similar names. Best to use Wells address or find the Alpine Inn which is a few miles down the road. Otherwise, a very nice and clean campground. Staff has always been kind with giving directions and helping out. Kids and dogs have fun in the river! A bit far for me to travel from Westchester, but worth it when other campgrounds are booked.

Called to see if I could change my reservation since I cannot drive due to Dr.'s orders but no dice. Could care less and told me too late due to policy. Offered to provide doctors documentation but didn't matter. I did not ask for refund just to change the date. Rude, dismissive and unwilling to work with me. Sad that a family-oriented place is run this way. End result I am out over $600 and they are smiling. As a business owner myself I would be out of business if I treated my customers this way.

We stayed here two nights at the beginning of August (2019) and couldn't have had a better experience. The new owners took over just two months prior, so they are busy doing upgrades to the camp office and store and around the campground. The upgrades being made did not impact the quality of camp sites or other facilities. Additionally, the personal attention provided by Will and his father made us feel like regulars. Will's father greeted me by name every time he saw me and would stop what he was doing to chat. We stayed at one of the full hookup sites during this visit. There are less than 50 total sites in the campground and only a hand-full had full hookups. Most did have water and electric. The sites are VERY Level, good sized, close, but spacious enough to have an enjoyable stay without being on top of each other. The cottages and motel looked nice from the outside. There is a nice sized and landscaped swimming pool, game room, and large community fire pit to enjoy. The location of the campground is ideal. Only two miles south of Lake George and a few miles north of the Outlet Mall. Another amenity is the paved bike path that goes along the back of the campground and runs between Lake George and Glen Falls. This was a great amenity and can help avoid all the traffic at Lake George by riding bikes into town. Overall this was a great place to stay to explore the area. Being smaller in size meant less traffic and noise, but didn't mean less enjoyment. The campground and buildings were well maintained and conveyed a welcoming atmosphere. The one area where Whippoorwill is lacking is the camp store/office, but this is the area they are currently updating so I expect great things in the future. We look forward to returning in the future.

The roads are narrow with large boulders on the sides and a narrow bridge to the other side of the campground. Lots of low hanging branches to catch up the coach. We had to wind through other RVs and vehicles to get to our assigned spot. The large trees where so close to the site it was impossible to get in with our 40 foot motorhome and had two large wooden platforms with broken boards covering an open hole and a facet leaking watermarking a muddy mess.They moved us to a back in site that was so narrow our slide was inches from the neighboring RV's awning. This park is not Star-Link friendly.

Also a large spider in the bathtub. Mattresses were the worse I have ever tried to sleep on. There were no box springs, just sheets of plywood. The mattresses were like mostly deflated air mattresses. Stove was leveled and was a safety concern when cooking bacon as the grease would overflow the back of the my griddle. The cookware and utensils were cheap and/or really beat.

The cabin had everything we need, and the views of the lake are gorgeous! The beach is clean, and the people are friendly. The bar is also so laid back, with an updated rustic feel. They often have live music, and again the people are friendly and are there to just have a good time. Relaxed and fun vibes all around. Highly recommend!

I can always find a silver lining, but I am hard-pressed for this place. Also, I felt that I wished I had known...so this is for you: Don't go: Why? The owner is unhelpful, unfriendly...obviously more concerned about the cash in her long, greedy fingernails than the comfort of her guests. The cabins are dirty. Sticky floors that make the bottoms of your feet turn black. The "view" is not of the lake, but a crowded assortment of trailer R/Vs. (Nice people waved at us on the way in, though.) There is not one bar of soap or amenity to speak of. The beds bite. I am dumbfounded (how could someplace so ugly be in someplace so beautiful?) and so glad I checked out early. Keep driving, friends, keep driving....
