I did a deep dive on this place as all I could find on the internet were many mixed reviews. I am a hardcore planner and this trip forced and allowed me to chill out about that as I had to detach from that mindset and literally surrender to the flow. With little to find online about what the actual inside of the campground looks like and some negative reviews I was skeptical but reassured by some of the good ones and after talking to a friend that has been before. I booked online and communication was efficient and I was able to pay on the portal ahead of time and provide my vehicle information to make check-in smoother. I have absolutely nothing but good things to say about Lee's after spending my weekend there, the park staff was so awesome, the vibes were great, there was parking along the dirt pathed roads that ran through the park, and a band called The Reality Check Experiment even played pre and post-show sets on the park's stage and even a little shakedown too. My only two qualms were purely trivial as the phone service specifically at night was difficult (but if you're with your people you really don't need your phone at all) and the first shuttle left at 5PM each night, so if you're looking to hit the lot and have some time to take it slow there or get in to the venue real early, I'd recommend carpooling with a group or taking an Uber and taking the shuttle back. Shoutout Mandy btw! This place rocks so hard, it was a total extension of the shows and I wouldn't have had it any other way. I hope you ignore all the poor, outdated reviews from people that don't know how to camp and whose problems with the park were just user error and freaking send it like I did too.

Kayak and canoe rental but go early--rental is for all day & two person kayaks are gone quickly. Now for the bad. We stayed Fourth of July weekend so expected noise. But...fireworks went until 1 am. The following day someone was playing karaoke until midnight. No policing the grounds to enforce quiet hours and the campground is smack dab in the middle of houses. Sleep is next to impossible. The day we left some idiot drove through at 5 am with windows open & music blasting.

They do not go by the rules at all. We went one weekend and it was the worst time I ever had. Loud and up all night and they did not care about others and the people running it wanted to kick us out and not the loud people . We had to wind through other RVs and vehicles to get to our assigned spot. The large trees where so close to the site it was impossible to get in with our 40 foot motorhome and had two large wooden platforms with broken boards covering an open hole and a facet leaking watermarking a muddy mess.They moved us to a back in site that was so narrow our slide was inches from the neighboring RV's awning. This park is not Star-Link friendly.

The cookware and utensils were cheap and/or really beat.

Our group stopped into Saratoga National Historic Park on a Tuesday morning. Many of the parks have…read morelimited hours/opening days due to President Trump's cuts so we were happy to found a park open on a Tuesday. We spent our time at the Visitor Center as we couldn't commit to the road around the park due to other obligations. As we arrived we were invited to a Ranger Talk ne Game Show starting in a few minutes. We joined about 15 other folks outside for the talk/game show. It was awesome. The park's historian presented all of the parties that were blamed for the British army's loss and we chose the quotes from the General's book best attributed to each group. It was lots of fun and I definitely learned a lot in a short 30-40 minutes. When then watched the video inside about the battle's history and explored the visitor center. I'm sure the exhibits and stops around the drive are fantastic. We took a lot away from just our experience with the ranger and the visitor center. I highly recommend this stop to others. It's the first time the British army surrendered in their HISTORY! That's major. Have a great visit!

Having lived in a Boston suburb back in the 80's where the height of the American Revolutionary War…read moretook place all around that area (obviously many years before I was there, lol), I was surprised to learn upon a very recent visit to Saratoga Springs, NY that there is a park that preserves the site of the Battles of Saratoga, the first significant American military defeat of the British army in this period of history. Because we were in town on the opening weekend of the summer horse racing, and because this park is a few miles removed from the center of town, it was virtually empty the day we appeared at the park. Further, the park tour is all done by car, about 10 miles of a paved one-way only road with (10) marked stops. There is also a visitor center at the beginning. To fully engage with the driving tour, one must access their audio narration, which can be easily found and set up. The audio tour discusses each of the 10 marked stops and offers an indepth description of what we were looking at. One could easily get out of the car and walk around or just stay in the car listening to the narration. It is very well set up and so easy to follow along, both in terms of the car route and narration. Also, if one is ambitious enough, one could even bicycle their way through the park's 9 or 10 miles of road. For me, it would've been too hilly, but we saw a number of bikers along the path. Kudos to them for sure ! As with ALL battle sites, when one views the land in times of freedom, and it is quiet, pristine and beautiful (typically), it is (at least for me) difficult to envision that many people lost their lives on the very grounds we would walk (or drive) in order to pave the way for freedom and democracy. If you only knew how much I am having to force myself to remain quiet about THAT in the year 2025 with what is going on in this world and more specifically, this nation of ours, but I will just refrain from going THERE. What I will say is this... especially if you are a history buff... or if you just like viewing beautiful terrain, this park will NOT disappoint. A very nice little detour from the horse racing and whatever else you might be doing in Saratoga Springs !!

Booked a last minute camping trip for Labor Day after our original plans fell through…read more We loved everything about this place. Lots of activities for kids, both scheduled and unscheduled. Safe. Clean bathrooms. Nearby to a grocery store. Everything you could want in a campground. Our only issue was, as tent campers, we specifically picked a site when we booked. When we showed up, we were told that we hadn't paid an extra charge to hold that space, so we were assigned a spot in the field. It was fine, other than being incredibly hot during the day, but the situation started us with a bad taste in our mouth. Will still look to come back in the future.

With unknown future we were wondering if the RV life would be for us…read more So a staycations is the thing these days. We also needed a dog friendly environment. Only problem we were concerned about was the foul weather predicted. After a few days in an RV, I'm thinking it can work in a pinch. Maybe not a purchase, but a rental will do. RV's are nice in that you have everything you need right there. It's a small version of "home." Mini kitchen, bath, beds. Meals might be difficult for me since I have soooo many spices and conveniences to use at home and none in the RV. It is a more civilized way to camp. No rocks to sleep on, much drier in bad weather. The camp ground was a very nice place. I've camped before in a tent and used facilities that the park offered. We walked about with the dog, talked to people here and there. Only complaint I have is minor - gate card key was finally fixed to work properly on last day of stay. There's a general store for those items you may have forgotten. But I found eating out wasn't a bad option. Two towns nearby had ample choices. Might consider another park by Adventure Bound since they have multiple campgrounds in multiple states.

A small lake, no large motorized boats are allowed, so it is quiet and peaceful. In fact, the greatest disturbances tend to be other campers who insist on playing their music loudly. Thankfully, there is usually a good amount of space between sites, and most people respect the quiet hours. While this campground is a long way away from where I live, it is definitely worth the drive. If you are interested in fall camping, I can't even being to describe how beautiful it is to wake up in the morning to see the lake surrounded by a riot of colors.

Located close to Indian Lake, the Lewey Lake Campground has multiple entrances off of Route 30N with the main campground the furthest south and what I have labeled on the Yelp map. Keep in mind that the address does not come up properly on Google Maps or Bing maps so look at the Yelp placement for more accuracy. We were at the furthest north campsites which are pretty isolated from everyone else. The sites our group stayed at were situated right next to a stream which was great for sleeping. You couldn't hear anyone around you and even with the goings on at our lower campsite we couldn't hear them at all. There only outhouses at this location of the campground but it is a short drive to the main sites that have real bathrooms and showers along with a nice, simple beach. Despite how close it is to Route 30N, I definitely felt isolated in a good way and would highly recommend staying there for people looking for some interesting camping with reasonably convenient location.

Fantastic Camp for Girls…read more I went to Camp Cedarbrook as a child and I loved it there. It was my safe place. All the staff were genuine and kind. I went through their staff training and joined the staff in the 90's. Now, as an adult with daughters of my own, I send them to Camp Cedarbrook. My oldest enjoyed her time there so much last year that she begged to go for two weeks this summer.
