If that doesn't speak to how much we love it here, I'm not sure what will. This is truly a hidden gem. Not only does it boast some of the most fantastic views, the accomodations are great, the amenities are awesome, and most importantly the hospitality is phenomenal. There are kayaks, row boats and paddle boards free to use. They have an in house marina where they rent out boats and jet skis at a cost. The beach area is BEAUTIFUL with a small sandy area for the kids. They have a gorgeous salt water pool at the top of the property. They have a small cafe off the office that makes THE best smoothies and coffee. Theres a cute little playground for kiddos. The property is always so clean and well kept. You honestly don't even need to leave the property to have fun. It's an all in one fun zone. There are some dated aspects you can see around the place, but what's fantastic is that every year we come back and new improvements and upgrades have been made. I love that this place is eternally in a state of growth and improvement, and you can really tell this is a labor of love for the Chiroboga family. You would be hard pressed to find a group of people more dedicated to the happiness of their clientele, more hospitable, more kind, more hardworking, sweeter and more passionate than the owners. My favorite perk is you CAN NOT beat the overwhelming sense of peace that shrouds this place. We have been making memories at the Villas for 4 years and we intend to continue doing so for years to come. We LOVE the Villas, it means so much to our little family.

Room service is upon request (which is the norm these days anywhere you go). There are kayaks for guests to use at the lake for free. We booked a private 1-hour boat tour ride on one of the boats docked at the resort. AMAZING!!!!

They do offer motel style rooms but also two bedroom or three bedroom houses. We reserved a two bedroom house and it was perfect for us. This place felt brand new and it was very clean plus the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. This place was completely booked the whole time we were there. On our last day we asked if we can have a late checkout but we were told that we couldn't. There was another family waiting for our room but we were invited to stay on the property for the day if we wanted. The property itself is on a steep hill. Getting up and down from your room to the lake is very steep and great workout and the views of the lake were amazing. This is perfect a place for a family vacation. There were families here with small children and Tea Island does offer free activities. They have a shuffle board, free kayaking, canoeing, paddle boards, plus more. Everything that they offered was really in great shape or new. It was so laid back and actually relaxing to be here. They also have a swimming pool because it was across the street we actually didn't see the pool. We were out doing other activities during the day so by the time we got back we just hung around the lake. They also provide bbq grills that are available for you to use and they were being used every night by families staying on the property. Its much easier than going out to eat every night. Would I come and stay here again? Absolutely

The lake area is in a shallow cove and my kids were literally able to run out for a few minutes and still be up to their knees. There are plenty of kayaks and paddle boats to take out, and a small sandy beach area for the kids to play. There's also a pool on the property, but the lake area was great so we never even went. Rooms are a little older, but they are clean and spacious. The property is pretty small, so everything is an easy walk. There's also plenty of parking onsite. The location is also prime in Bolton and it's just a two minute drive up to all the shops and restaurants. The owners were super sweet and friendly and helped us out a few times when we were locked out of our room. Overall, this is a really nice family run hotel in Bolton and the location on the lake can't be beat. There are definitely cosmetic upgrades that could be made, but like many other hotels in the area it's a little old school. Looking forward to coming back - we had a great time here.

(Apologies for any misspelled/incorrect names.)…read more We stayed at the Union Gables Inn on June 23, 2026. We stayed in the Linda Room, which was located on the third floor of the Inn. The room was spotless, beautiful, and clean. It had all antique furniture, which was all functional and worked without any signs of decay. The bed was wonderfully made, and nothing was out of place during our stay. The television and air-conditioning worked as intended. I attempted to take a shower mid-Tuesday afternoon. After turning on the hot water, I waited a good few minutes for the hot water to actually heat up. Not really anyone's fault; it just took a while. We were on the third floor of an older building - this was fine. The next morning, when I attempted to shower again, the hot water arrived quicker, but when trying to turn the heat down, it took a while. So, the heat in the shower is slow to respond. The staff were amazing. Justin, who resides on the grounds of the inn, was an awesome person who had answers and kindness to every situation that arose. My wife recently became disabled (getting her to the third floor was a bit of work); Justin asked if we wanted breakfast to be brought to her, instead of her coming down. We declined that, she would want to dine in the main dining hall. He was great with suggestions, super courteous, and overall awesome. When we had breakfast the morning of the 24th, Chad was the gentleman taking our order. He was a great person who regaled us with stories, gave us a good laugh, and made sure our orders were correct (wife is also allergic to dairy). He absolutely made the experience better, even if we were at the very tail end of our stay there. The breakfast was excellent; we both ended up eating a sausage breakfast bowl with salsa, bacon, and eggs (I had cheese on mine). Delicious. This is a clean, professional bed and breakfast that is worth returning to.

The outside grounds and swimming pool area are welcoming and cozy. The sprawling sunporch out front was a relaxing place to unwind with a beverage! Actually on a score of 1 to 10 I'd rate Union Gables a 15! Every detail inside the Inn looked like it was furnished with tender loving care. The room we stayed in was called Edward, it was spacious and beautifully appointed with lovely period furniture, linens and vintage art work! The fireplace although it was too warm during our stay to enjoy it, was a really nice touch! We made time to enjoy the Inn's complementary breakfast every morning, it was delicious and made to order. In my opinion it was a delightful way to start our day! It was hard not to enjoy breakfast surrounded by antique furnishings, beautiful window treatments, lovely art work, lace tablecloths, floral arrangements... even the flatware was beautiful! IF you love all things vintage and classy, you've got to check this place out! We arrived late afternoon and were greeted by Justin, who could not have been more helpful or kind assisting us throughout our stay. Our breakfast was made by Chad most mornings and was a delicious way to start our day! He happily shared his knowledge of the area which was helpful! Last but not least Sarah from housekeeping was pleasant, attentive and helpful. She kept our room immaculate the entire week we were there. Truthfully, it was a fabulous visit and vacation. The location of Union Gables Inn is walking distance to the Saratoga Racetrack which was great fun, blocks from museums and minutes by car to shopping and lots of various pubs & restaurants. The restaurant next door is marvelous too. I booked a room on the second floor with a balcony and had been looking forward to enjoying a summer evening, and sitting outside in my private little spot with a cool drink. There was a small hiccup with the plan. The building was just recently painted and the door was stuck from the outside. This was a significant disappointment especially after spending time choosing the perfect room for my needs. To be fair, the owner contacted me after my stay and graciously offered to refund a portion of my stay. I appreciated the acknowledgement. But here's the thing you should know about the BB&B. With the exception of breakfast, it's a "contactless" experience. Now while I'm sure that was a marvelous advantage in the COVID years, and for some less social or introverted folks, it felt a little cold and odd for me. This is the reason for the missing star. You get a text for the front door code once your room is ready. Your old-school keys are awaiting you on top of the dresser. If there are any issues, there is a phone number to call. In my case, I called the number, but there wasn't anything the person I reached on the phone could do, especially since they were off site. Breakfast was a bright spot. That is where I met Sarah who took great care of me, live and in person. As opposed to so many hotels that offer a complimentary breakfast, this one was delicious and very civilized. There were menus. There was fresh ripe fruit sliced up and served in a bowl. And I can't tell you how much I appreciated some actual human contact at the B&B. If I wanted to pick some more nits, the room wasn't the cleanest. Maybe it had something to do with dust getting in from the painting project. Bedbugs can happen anywhere, even at the fanciest hotels in the world, so I'm always fastidious about checking beds with a fine tooth comb wherever I stay. Beyond some grime on a pillowcase there was some dried blood on the mattress liner. I'm not super squeamish, and I didn't bring up the issue to management in the moment, since I was focused on the sealed balcony door. That said, I would still absolutely consider returning. I kinda hate most hotels and despite a few unexpected quirks and hiccups, BB&B was a comfortable, convenient, and (mostly) charming place to stay in Saratoga Springs.

I am honestly baffled by the low rating for Antigua Resort until I actually read the reviews. Then…read moreI became baffled in an entirely different way. Two of the seven reviews are one star complaints from guests who cancelled at the last minute and were unhappy that the resort retained their non refundable deposit. The paperwork very clearly explains the cancellation policy, including exactly how much of the deposit is refundable depending on when you cancel. Complaining that a business followed a policy you signed acknowledging is a rather impressive form of hypocrisy. Fortunately, the resort itself is considerably easier to understand. We have been visiting Lake George for approximately twenty years, and my wife and her family have been coming since the 1980s. Somehow, despite all those decades of experience, this was our first stay on the eastern side of the lake. That turned out to be a very happy accident. The east side is quieter, less developed, and dramatically less commercial than the village side. It feels peaceful in a way that the busier parts of Lake George simply cannot. Antigua Resort sits on Plum Point, and the setting is absolutely beautiful. We spent a week in Suite #5 and loved it. The resort is not luxurious, and anyone arriving expecting a five star hotel is going to be disappointed. That is like complaining that a canoe does not have a swimming pool. Antigua is a clean, comfortable, well maintained lakeside resort whose greatest amenity is the lake itself. Suite #5 has a wonderful picture window overlooking Lake George, which was the primary reason we selected it. Once we arrived, however, we discovered that virtually every accommodation on the property enjoys a lake view, either through a window or from a private porch. The Lakeside Suite, Suite #5, and the Boathouse have the closest and most dramatic vantage points, but you are going to see Lake George from pretty much everywhere. Our suite had a main bedroom where our boys slept, with one double bed and one twin, plus a smaller secondary bedroom with a queen. There was a small but clean bathroom and a kitchen stocked with everything we needed for the week. There are also both gas and charcoal grills available for guests, which made preparing an occasional meal wonderfully easy. But nobody comes to Antigua for the kitchen. You come for the water. There is a small, well maintained beach with a designated swimming area and floating platform. Guests can also use kayaks, canoes, and rowboats at no additional charge. It is the sort of place where children can disappear onto the water for a while and parents can actually relax because everyone is having a good time. Then there is the observation deck on top of the boathouse. My oldest son decided this was his personal headquarters for the week and spent literal hours up there. From that vantage point, on a clear day, you can see all the way from Dome Island down toward Lake George Village. Steamboats regularly pass by, along with an endless parade of private boats. It is an extraordinary place to simply sit and watch the lake. It also turned out to be one of the best places to watch the weekly fireworks from the Village. Every Thursday evening during the summer, Lake George Village puts on a fireworks show, and the view from the boathouse observation deck was fantastic. There is also live music on the beach with a campfire every Monday and Thursday. Add the sound of the lake, the mountains, a fire on the beach, and a guitar playing somewhere nearby, and you have arrived at a very different definition of entertainment than you get at a resort surrounded by commercial attractions. Anne, the owner, was another highlight. She was regularly out and about on the property, often accompanied by her two exceptionally friendly dogs, Ranger and Lucy. She clearly takes an interest in the guests and the property, checking in to make sure things are running properly without hovering over everyone. That is really what Antigua gets right. It feels personal. There is no giant lobby, no endless hallway, no anonymous hotel operation. You know where you are. You know who is taking care of the place. You can walk down to the beach, grab a kayak, sit around a campfire, watch the boats, or spend an hour doing absolutely nothing. And doing absolutely nothing on Lake George is vastly underrated. After twenty years of visiting this lake, we discovered that we had been missing an entirely different side of it. The east side's peace and quiet turned out to be exactly what our family needed. We all loved the slower pace and lack of commercial bustle. Antigua is not fancy. It does not pretend to be fancy. What it offers instead is clean and comfortable accommodation, friendly ownership, free boats and kayaks, a beautiful beach, spectacular lake views, family friendly activities, and one of the most peaceful settings we have experienced anywhere on Lake George. We will return.
