A quick visit to Saratoga for a concert was made so much more enjoyable because of our stay at the Union Gables Inn. Just 3 blocks from the race course and walkable stroll to the downtown, this is perfectly located. It's a grand, yet comfortable inn, with warm cookies to greet us. Our room was the Bill room with a fireplace and a balcony. The fireplace was lovely, but the balcony was just amazing- enjoyed morning coffee out there and watched Saratoga awaken. The king sized bed was so comfy and welcoming after a 2.5 hour concert in Albany. Breakfast options include delicious waffles, omelettes and perfectly cooked bacon and ham. The coffee was fresh and just enough to get our day going. Chef was so welcoming and hospitable. We were here in the quiet season, so it was relaxing and restful. The owners also have a spa in town- I didn't partake, but I'm sure the quality of the services is top notch. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area!

This is gonna be a long review have a lot to say! Let me start with saying I was in the hotel business (traveled internationally) for many years. I am extremely picky and criticize everything that is within the control of the staff/owners. So that being said..... First off : Location is KEY in this town...you can walk to the main drag (Broadway) easily from the Inn. Congress Park...shopping...eating...all easy walking. Park the vehicle and forget it if you want to stay "local". Second: The Inn is GORGOUS if you like "period" architecture and woodwork etc. SO GORGOUS and KEPT up A+++ The grand porch with amble seating and gorgeous flowers/plants was a super nice bonus. Lots of parking off street...pool super nice on a hot day. Towels provided. We used the indoor pool table at night with no problems (only suggestion is better lighting for night time in the Pool Room) The gardens A++++ Third: The room (Kate) we stayed in was perfect. Air condition (we like it cold) worked perfect. Bathroom had everything you needed (including two plush robes) Beds were comfortable and a lot of room for our things. Refrig. was great. TV and all the cable channels was nice at night.. Very very clean room and general spaces. Fourth: The hot breakfast, complementary tea and coffee was excellent. There were also menus at the check in area that you would look thru for outside food. Also lemonade, ice tea and cookies every afternoon. Last but not least...(all the above could be great but if the staff was not up to par then your trip would be crappy either way) THE STAFF: Holy cow....From Naomi who greeted us (with lemonade, ice tea and cookies). To Sara and Chad who seem to run the kitchen and generally manage the day to day - WOWWWW. If I had a business I would poach them all in the heartbeat. I cant even say enough as to how kind, attentive, knowledgeable they all were. Cared about their jobs as if they were owners and I have to say, this day and age, that is rare! NOTE to the owners of the Inn _ All your staff we encountered are KEEPERS! Can't wait to come back and feel like family again!

I love the charm at this lovely Victorian mansion B&B. The owner Todd is very nice and accommodating. We spent 4 days 3 nights here when we visited Saratoga Springs in early May. It's really convenient, and walking distance to town and Congress Park. You can enjoy some quiet down time at the mansion which also have a pool (seasonal) and gardens. At the same time the town is so close by if you want some actions. We will definitely stay here again next time when we visit Saratoga Springs.

All the perks of a cute B&B with the benefits of a hotel (aka modern conveniences and private bath). We stayed in Annie one night and then Linda two nights. Both nice rooms with comfy king beds and had fireplaces. Annie had a slightly larger bathroom. Breakfast was good and cooked to order in the morning, omelets, pancakes etc, all delicious. Jane, the inn keeper, was great. Complimentary wine from 5-7, where guests gathered by the fire and we got to chat with some new people. Walk to great restaurants and bars in town. Great stay overall, would definitely return.

What a B&B!!! Had such a good time with family in an atmosphere of peace n love. Jane the caretaker was helpful to local flavor/ favorites. She was there to serve our breakfast, show us our rooms. We inquired about a future stay and she showed us all the rooms; each with fireplace and bathroom. Our room was clean and in keeping with the classic colonial style of the era. We definitely will be returning.

Great park right down the street from Union Gables.

First of all, it's silly that the official address on Broadway is not the actual entrance you can drive to, and you can't even pull over there. They charge $12 per night for parking in a long, skinny, uncovered lot (the only spot we could find was at the very far end). The lobby has ancient carpet, so worn out there are big rips in it, and there's a flight of stairs to get up to the front desk. There is apparently a ramp somewhere but it's not easily visible. Coffee by the front desk has a sign saying it costs $3. The room wasn't any better --it was also dingy, with tired looking furniture and a surprisingly low-resolution TV. The two (saggy, not very comfortable) beds are doubles rather than queens because it looks like that's all that would fit. It was by far the least clean hotel room I've seen in the past decade+. Clumps of hair in the bathroom, bathroom counter not wiped down, tub with stains, drain in sink and tub not working correctly, etc. etc. etc. I asked for a different room, and the second one had a very visible fingernail clipping right on the black bathroom countertop, but at least the tub was draining a bit better. Breakfast is only available in the understaffed sit-down restaurant. There is no buffet/ grab and go or anything, so you'd need to build in a ton of extra time to actually eat breakfast here. I paid for breakfast in my room rate but couldn't actually use it because it would have taken way too long. The location of this hotel is great and the front desk staff was reasonably helpful. On the other hand, housekeeping clearly isn't up to standard.

We really appreciated the size of the room and the real glass cups and glasses. My absolute favorite part was next to the ice machine they have a filtered water dispenser and provide a carafe (with note about the filtered water) which you can easily fill. We did not swim, but the pool and hot tub indoor area looked wonderful. There was a small gym near the pool as well. There are only two food options Morton's Steakhouse (pricey) or Lucky's Cafe which is a walk-up and order place with tons of seating looking out at the racetrack. The pizza was excellent and my partner really enjoyed the fish sandwich! We had a lot of fun gambling on the casino floor and I was able to get the bonus on almost every slot I played. Was able to play a good amount of time too. Did not see any table games, but there were a lot of slots with some of the newest popular games but missing a lot of my favorite new games I wish I could have played. We always like helping ourselves to soda and coffee, which was very good. The casino floor does not open until 9 am so had to wait to get the coffee which seemed like a long wait haha. Cute, clean, and quirky, it's minimal on the trappings, but still manages to be warm and welcoming in all the ways that generally matter to how a place feels. I loved the center covered courtyard in this converted "roadside motor hotel," which felt like a communal living room, and also a perfect place to pull out the laptop and get some work done or just hang out and read, including some of the interesting art books made available in the space. That space is a bonus if it rains... you can hear the rain falling on the interior courtyard! Only thing we didn't do that we should have was to grab a bottle a wine from the very nearby wine store, bring it back to the "living room," and enjoy that rain a little more! Past the free coffees and tea, the place is spartan, but by design, in a very clean, crisp, and intentional way. It still fully pulls off "cozy" in all the ways. It definitely feels "design-y,' but without ANY pretention. Coming and going, were always greeted by every staff member with smiles, genuinely making us feel welcome every time we walked through the door. Free parking might be just an off-season perk, but a great one, and we never had an issue even when our late-ish arrival on a Saturday night meant we had to use the (also free!) parking garage adjacent to the hotel. If it's just one or two of you, don't be put off by the Micro Queen! It still gets the job done, as it's still incredible cozy. The biggest benefit is location, location, location! STEPS away from restaurants, shops, and bars, all right on the "main drag." And even given its location, street-facing rooms are very quiet. Could use some more clothes/towel hooks and a place to put a second suitcase, a slightly warmer LED in the bathroom, and even just a recirculating fan in their as well wouldn't be unwelcome. We would have loved to have access to streaming TV. But these are all minor dings on what was a lovely stay, at this unique property that I'd love to see flourish. It was a great home base, and I didn't want to leave. We'll also now be on the lookout for more properties in the Lark portfolio... when we're not back at the Bluebird!

The water and coffee stations are a nice touch and much appreciated. One downside: they now charge $16 for parking, which feels a bit nickel-and-dime -- it would be better if it was just included in the room rate.
