Wow! This place was so peaceful I enjoyed the birds chirping and the very few ppl there were so far you couldn't hear anything but the birds. The tall trees and water was beautiful. There was a man in a canoe fishing, and an older lady fishing from a bench Along side the lake. It was a great sight. I can imagine all the fun in summer time with the canoes, and games bring played. There was a playground and you can see signs for life guard. There's camping areas, with barbq located atop lake and you can see the lake from on top. Its side beautiful, it started drizzling but I enjoyed the water and it didn't hurt hahaha. read more

We use to make Moreau a must go camping spot but for what ever reason the manager has decided to restrict the number of pets to two. Come on Kevin (the manger) you can Allow my fur babies. I've been to Moreau Lake State Park many times and love this little gem. They have a lot to offer...a great campground with spacious wooded sites, clean bathrooms, a nice lake to swim or fish in, tons of hiking trails of all terrain so there is something for all ability levels to enjoy. Several quality Geocaches hidden around the park too! Great views from the top of the mountain overlooking the lake on one side and the Hudson River on the other. Nice views of historic Spier Falls Dam down on the river too. They also have a pavilion where shows and activities are put on as well. Close enough to the excitement of Saratoga or Lake George without the noise or crowds while in the campground. read more

Really nice campground with lots of hiking/running trails nearby and lots of space on the lake. We had two campsites which were vastly different in size, so check the pictures if you can to see what yours looks like. Good space between each site. read more

Had a great time walking around the lake yesterday. What seemed like the first warm day of the spring 2018 season, it was nice to get out and feel the heat and sun. All of the trails are very well maintained and provide hours of hiking and enjoying nature. read more

I stopped at this campground just for the night while traveling through the area. I spent the day in Saratoga Springs and was pleasantly surprised by how secluded this campground feels considering it is so close. I was one of a few campers and felt like I had the place to myself- I'm sure it's the season, though. I can imagine it gets pretty full in the summer. I had site 53. It's on a bluff with a small view of the lake between the trees. The area is heavily wooded and gorgeous now with the fall colors. I enjoyed my morning walk down to the lake. Also, the bathrooms are clean and the showers are large. Oh, last thing. At night, it's pitch black. All I could hear were the enjoyable calls of birds. read more

Facilities were clean and spacious. Staff was very friendly. Took a walk around the lake and was a little disappointed at the signs regarding swimmer's itch. It was described as an allergic reaction to a parasite. . There are cabins available that look pretty nice. Campsites are clean and pretty average for state campgrounds. read more

My husband and I take our blue healer on the trails and then she takes a dip in the lake in the area where dogs can swim. We will be regulars there, it's beautiful, clean and can't wait to go camping and enjoy a week of great trails to hike!!!! Beautiful and well-maintained park. Very clean and modern restrooms. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Most sites are spacious.

My girlfriend and I took a blind dog for a walk at Moreau today. There are some beautiful trails in this park and we had a lovely day to explore one. Spier Falls road brings you up and over the mountain overlooking the Northern Hudson river. Parking in one of many sanctioned parking lots brings you to a trial map and and lots of opportunities for different hikes. With a blind dog we could not go far but once on top of the ridge (we took the Western Ridge) offers great views and some mildly challenging hiking. Rosa is a shelter dog that we were surrogate parents for the weekend. She is 5 and would make a great family pet. She's smart and very affectionate, and her blindness could be fixed with a simple surgery. She perfectly happy bumping into things. read more

Great place to swim and play in the Saratoga Springs area that is an alternative to Peerless or Victoria pools, or the long trek to Lake George. $8 per car admission. I went on the Saturday of July 4th weekend and the park reached capacity at around 1pm. We got to the park at 10am, and the beach was completely empty; we parked in the front row and walked only 100 feet to the beach. We were only one of maybe twenty families on the beach and got our pick of spots. Beach offers clean sand that is combed daily, a small waterfront with roped off swimming and three lifeguard stands, kayak & paddleboat rentals, umbrella rentals, a small shop, and a small snack bar. Bathrooms were very clean until around 11, when sand gets tracked in and they just get mucky. Lake water is clean, clear, and a good temperature. We had a great day here and would go back soon. read more

The park is a beautiful and well maintained. The sites are large and generously spaced. Bathrooms are cleaned daily and showers are hot. Since there are no motorized boats on the lake, kayaking is relaxing. Hiking trails are well marked.At the camp office you can get ice. I wouldn't recommend the wood,it was wet. The beach and day picnic area is set apart from the camping section. This area gets very crowded on the weekend and during the week hosts multiple day camps. A short ride into Saratoga for a day at the races. A great place for a camping trip! read more

This place is a great find if you are into getting away from it all and hiking. I don't mean the usual park (beach, lake, campgrounds, etc.) The state owns more land up into the mountains which is actually part of a bird sanctuary. There are beautiful views from way above the Hudson River. Usually quiet and peaceful - take a picnic lunch and a camera. read more
