BUYER BEWARE -- Sun Devil Trailers still owes me $6,500…read more More than a year ago, I paid Chris $6,500 to build a trailer that he promised to complete. To this day, I have received no trailer, no refund, no VIN, no photographs, and no evidence that construction ever began. Chris claimed he could provide a VIN, but I have never seen it. He later told me the trailer was trapped at a powder-coating shop because the shop's owner had allegedly failed to pay rent and the property was being foreclosed upon. When I confronted him and asked for evidence, he still could not provide a VIN, photograph, receipt, progress update, or anything demonstrating that my trailer actually existed. This is not simply a project running behind schedule. After more than a year, Sun Devil Trailers has my $6,500, while I have received absolutely nothing in return and no proof that my money was ever used to build the trailer I ordered. My experience is also not the only serious complaint involving this company. Arizona's Family's "On Your Side" reported that another customer waited 17 months for a mobile golf-simulator trailer and alleged approximately $50,000 in missing parts and materials. The report also stated that court records showed two judgments against Sun Devil Trailer Manufacturing for failing to pay employees. The BBB currently gives the company an F rating for failing to respond to complaints. Based on my firsthand experience, I believe I was repeatedly misled, and I strongly recommend that prospective customers do not give this company any money without independently verifying the trailer, VIN, materials, build progress, and ownership--and protecting every payment through a written contract and a recoverable payment method. Chris: return my $6,500.

Avoid Sun Devil Trailers (SDT)…read more In September 2025, I brought my single‑axle bass boat trailer to SDT to add a second axle. A one‑week job turned into nearly a month, with every delay blamed on "painting issues." I never received proactive updates--only excuses when I called. When I picked it up, the fender was still missing its matching trim color, which they said would arrive in two weeks. It still hasn't as of this review. Over the next few months, I dealt with two blown hubs on the same wheel, rubber stepping pads falling off because super glue was used as adhesive, and repeated trips back for repairs that didn't last. See photo of the first wheel‑bearing blowout. The owner answered his phone but never called with updates, even after missed deadlines. The breaking point was driving home with only three wheels for the second time--something that should never happen once. SDT claimed the axle and hubs were replaced, yet the wheels still looked misaligned. A different trailer repair shop inspected it and found incomplete welds, axles that didn't fit the trailer, uneven tire spacing, and axles that appeared old rather than new. See pictures of the welds. They also found a blown wheel bearing on the other axle, brakes installed on the front axle instead of the rear, and the fiberglass fender's paint cracking because the weight was resting on a single bar instead of being supported evenly. After dealing with all of this, I later spoke with other people and businesses who said they had also heard negative comments about SDT, which only confirmed the pattern. According to the repair shop, I was lucky I hadn't already been in an accident. July 2026, I am now starting over with a different shop.

I had a very disappointing and unsafe experience at Deer Valley Trailers. I brought my trailer in…read moreto have the jack repaired. The team had me remove my off-road vehicle from the trailer, they took the trailer into the shop, and then later placed the trailer back onto my vehicle -- but did not latch or secure it. This was never communicated to me, and it is not stated anywhere in their paperwork. Several employees stood outside and watched while I began loading my off-road vehicle back onto the trailer, and no one warned me that the trailer had not been secured. As soon as weight went onto the trailer, it shifted forward and hit my SUV, causing damage to the rear of the vehicle. When I brought this to their attention, the business took no responsibility and said it was "their policy" not to latch trailers, even though they still placed it on my vehicle. The owner, Mike Pauly, also showed no interest in helping resolve the situation. While I acknowledge that I should have double-checked the latch myself, I reasonably expected a professional trailer shop to communicate safety risks and not return a trailer to a customer in an unsecured condition. The lack of communication and accountability was extremely disappointing, and I would caution others to be very careful when doing business here.

I took in both complete spring packs off my 3/4 ton pickup truck to be re-arched or replaced. They…read moresaid they were too worn to be re-arched and should instead be replaced. I agreed and also asked them to go ahead and just replace everything, shackles, bolts, u-bolts and overloads. Paid upfront with my credit card and a week later, my parts were ready for pickup. Picked them up and went to install them. That's when i noticed an issue. There was a set of spring alignment pins for a Freightliner but there were no overload springs. It's easy enough to return the pins but without those overload springs, it is not possible to tighten the u-bolts as i am unable to use the existing top plate or cast iron spacer because of the overload spring alignment nubs that are cast into the part. So, at that point the installation could go no further. I called Spectrac to try to figure out what happened and what needed to happen next. This is where things get weird. I "assumed" that the semi truck pins were supposed to be the overload springs and someone had an oops moment. It happens to us all from time to time so no big deal. Then i'm told that the only mistake was giving me the pins and if i wanted the overload springs i had paid for already, i would be blessed with the opportunity to pay for them again. After having already spent $900 on rear leaf springs, overloads, shackles, bolts, and u-bolts, i was repeatedly, but politely, told that these are not "usually" included with rear springs and that if i wanted to finish this installation, buying new overload springs from them was my only option. That is not an option. So, here i sit with an undrivable truck, a $900 hole in my wallet, and a company that could care less. All because of two overload springs i already bought and have not received.

After spending 2 hours doing the exact same checks that I had already done, and obviously finding zero solutions since there was nothing new being done they charged my card $830, 300 more than the quoted price, and told me I need to tow it in to their shop because he can't find the problem. He also told me he was repairing wires underneath the motorhome, but I crawled under after he left and there were zero repairs that weren't done by myself before he got there. All he did was remove plastic conduit. I immediately called and was told they could refund the extra charged amount because it was intentionally not disclosed to me ahead of time, but since then in the last 3 weeks they have NOT done so and I've called multiple times a week about it. Each time I get told "I will work on that and call you back". I have not once received a call back. I could've burned the money and been in the same spot. Stay away from this company.
