The team at Rusiniak's went out of there way to get us back on the road! Here's the story. Our Sprinter van broke down late at night in the middle of nowhere along Intestate 86 in Western New York. We are from Oregon and had no idea about the area, but did know that we needed to find a Sprinter-capable mechanic in case the issue required major work. We were towed to a shop in Buffalo that I believed would be able to service the van and slept in the van that night. The next morning we found out that they couldn't service us, and referred us to another shop. That shop couldn't fit us in and referred us to Rusiniak's. Bernie, the owner, answered the phone and was very accommodating. He informed us that they could get us in, and it would likely take 3-4 hours before they could get the work done, assuming it was limited to what we thought the problem was. We had the van towed to them and dropped the keys off, then hung out in their waiting area for a while. Nothing fancy, pretty standard waiting area for a small auto shop, but they keep it tidy and offer a table to work from and free wifi. There is also a super old-school pay phone on the wall (50's style with the rotary dialer) and a killer tropical fish tank with amazing coral plants in it. The repairs needed turned out to be slightly more complicated then initially thought, and required some ingenuity on their part to get everything put back together. We even took a nap in the van while they worked on it (it was parked outside and not in the shop and on a lift). In the end it still only took only about 4 hours start to finish and although he explained that the cost would be a bit higher due to the extra labor and parts, I felt that the total cost was very reasonable and well worth the level of service provided. We couldn't have been happier with the results, and would take our van there for regular servicing if we lived in the area. As an added bonus, we had a great lunch at the Polish Village, two doors down from the shop. Excellent authentic Polish food frequented by the regulars in the Polish community. The whole experience couldn't have been better, excepting of course the whole break down of the van in the first place. read more

Went to ask if they would replace my rear tail light bulb. I have a 2018 Rav 4. Clearly thought I was a stupid female and wanted to charge me $150. Told them they are crooks and trying to take advantage of me. Went and got the bulb. Cost $2.52 and took me 5 mins to put in myself. DO NOT SUPPORT THIS BUSINESSES. LOT OF ELDERLY IN NEARBY COMPLEX and I am sure they are ripping off every one that goes there. They need to learn a hard lesson read more

Great local gas station with a small service shop, and a large tow fleet. Gas is usually the cheapest or the same price as other stations within a few miles. Gas pumps are closed while they're closed at night, truck wash requires code and can only be used during business hours. Regular car wash is open 24/7. read more

I'm not from Buffalo but was in town for an appointment when my van overheated. Rusiniak's towed my van in a very timely manner and they were able to squeeze me in even though they seemed very busy. When the mechanic was done looking at it, he came and got me, took me to my van, and showed me what was wrong. He was able to fix it the same day and for a reasonable price. Being from a small town, I'm used to knowing my mechanic and trusting them to be honest, so I was worried going to an unknown place. These guys were nothing but professional, honest, kind, and helpful. I felt like it was my uncle or dad helping me. If I lived closer, I would surely give them my business again. read more

On 3/2/2019 - I took my vehicle to Rusniaks for a simple Diagnosis as the ONLY issue I was having was with my power steering. I already knew that the rack and pinion would possibly require replacement - what I did not know was whether or not the existing Rack was serviceable - allowing me to simply replace the seals and save a little money. At some point over the weekend the car was "diagnosed" and I suddenly had the following issues: Rack and Pinion - required replacement "Possible" replacement of the Power steering lines (however 2 days prior when I looked at those lines - they did not need to be replaced). "Possible" replacement of both lower ball joints (again, no symptoms of this issue prior to diving onto their parking lot). "Possible issue with both Tie rod ends. And last by not least a "major oil leak" - At best I need to fill refill my oil about t ¼ quart every 3 -4 weeks as there is a very MINOR oil leak which requires a seal replacement in the Pan - probably less than a $20.00 job. We were told that to complete the entire above list of problems the total would be $1872.00 - needless to say we declined and opted to pick the car up. The earliest that I was able to get there was yesterday - this means from 3/2/19-3/5/19 the car (in theory) should have simply sat in their parking lot - never to be touched again. However upon getting in the car to bring it home - I now suddenly have the following issues: Someone decided to leave my radio ON - causing my battery to be completely dead (My radio is hard wired so that the ignition is not required to be on and the Key is not required to be in the accessory position) - this means my radio draws a CONSTANT positive even when the car is not running - this of course drained my battery. Because it had snowed out over the course of the 2 days it remained "untouched" I went to clear the snow from my windshield and low and behold my windshield wipers no longer work (at all - Again - not a single issue with them prior to bringing the car to Rusniaks). And last but not least - low and behold I now have a horrible noise coming from my the front end of my car - (I'm guessing the ball joints that they so desperately wanted to replace - that yet again had no symptoms prior to being in their shop). I think it is despicable that this kind of thing goes on and is tolerated. Had they given me a fair and honest estimate for the only issue at hand - I would have gladly given them my business. But to try and tell the consumer that suddenly their car (and we all know our cars) requires this and that and this and that to equal almost $2.000.00 simply to line their pockets is unacceptable. As a result of this experience I will be contacting the BBB as well as filing a formal complain with the attorney General's office. And at the very least, I hope that this raises awareness and huge red flags to anyone reading this review to stop - Turn around and take your car SOMEWHERE - ANYWHERE else!!! read more
