Love the lemongrass chicken banh mi (sandwich)! Great chopped fresh vegetables and cilantro with fresh bread. The place isn't fancy but it's clean and convenient (free parking in the strip-mall or a short walk from IU campus). The owner does a really great job with the place. One of our favorite lunch spots. read more

I love this place! The pho never gets me disappointed! The pho soup is so good that I finish it all the times.

New favorite Asian place in town! Extra stars go to serving yummy Thai iced tea and Vietnamese iced coffee. I'm not a big fan of sandwiches but the rice entrees are absolutely delicious. The Asian BBQ pork actually tastes like Mexican carnitas! Since I found this place, my hubby has stopped having the tacos cravings we used to travel to Indy for. read more

Great tasting vegetarian/vegan bahn-mi and they have reasonably priced daily specials (paying with cash, $7.50 for a sandwich, fries, and can of pop on Wednesdays). Also very friendly staff. read more

I was really hesitant about Rush Hour at first, the outside of the restaurant looks more like a store than an eatery but much to my surprise they actually have amazing food. Getting one of the sandwiches is a MUST they have like ten different sauces to choose from so that is a really cool aspect not to mention the lemongrass sauce and the Asian bbq sauce are delicious. I tried the Beef bbq sandwich which came on a delicious Italian style roll and was layered with cucumber, carrots, jalapenos and fresh cilantro, it was one of the best sandwiches Ive ever had in btown! The staff were very friendly and very prompt! The best part was the price! This place is SO CHEAP! I will definitely keep this place in my rotation! read more

This is a great place to go to grab a quick lunch or dinner. Their Bahn-mi sandwiches are delicious and extremely fresh. But, the spicy anger management soup is my favorite. It's my go-to meal when I'm sick - I'm convinced it cures everything. This place now accepts credit cards, but you get a discount for paying with cash. read more

Love the food! Everything we have ordered is always hot and fresh- the pho is excellent!

I adore this place. I come here a lot, so much so that the previous owner used to roast me for my predictable order. I've branched out since then and have tried every vegan-friendly option on the menu - I'm not a fan of their miso ramen, but everything else is great. My veggie and omni friends have nothing but good things to say about Rush Hour, so eat here with confidence! Just make sure to check their Facebook page before you head over as their hours seem to be in flux. read more

Excellent sandwiches with meat and sauce choices ! Both korean and wendale sauces nice n spicy .. pretty good options for lunch and dinner .. Innovative soups and salad options too.. Great place worth a try.. read more

I'm in Bloomington for work and I stumbled on rush hour station because Bombay cafe was closed. Im so happy I did!! The Gyoza was out of this world! By far the best I've ever had. I just got take out but the lady I talked to was very helpful and nice. Highly highly recommend read more

great food, great prices. The burgers in particular are delicious, and the toppings are imaginative and tasty. And the people! Some of the nicest people I've ever met. read more

Try the anger management. This place is affordable and has great food. Friendly staff, quick service and good everyday kind of food.

The best hole in the wall find of my 5 years in Btown. I literally thought the place was a convenient store until I decided one day to check it out. Don't let the exterior fool you.. everything on the menu is amazing! read more

So rude. How are you in business still? Went in there 30 minutes to close to get a sandwich to go. Employee dude asked me to move out of his way twice so he could gut the place of every chair & sweep around me. Been going to school here for 4 years now, final semester senior. I have only heard terrible things about this place but figured i'd try it out. After last night, I know why many people over look this eye sore. Food wasn't terrible but i'll never go back just because the service was so severely lame. Get to work when I leave, & get over your damn selves while i'm in your store. Except don't actually, cause i'll never be back :) read more

Not bad for Bloomington but a few concerns. Some of the employees aren't exactly "clean-cut", and the tables are consistently dirty and need wiping down of the items (salt and pepper shaker, napkin holder, etc). I'm also surprised at how long it takes for your food even though it's never been busy when I've visited. Don't get me wrong, it's not filthy, it's just that the food is pretty good for Midwestern Vietnamese but a few changes would make it great including the ones I mentioned before. Also, Pho soup should come with basil, jalapeno, lime, sprouts, etc. If I could give it a 3.5 star rating I would because obviously we've gone several times but I doubt we'll keep going if it stays the same. read more

This place is wonderful! For $5, I got a big sandwich full of fresh veggies (cucumbers, carrots, onions, and jalapenos), pulled beef, and delicious "Asian BBQ" sauce. Everything on their menu looks so good, I want to try everything! Definitely going back soon. read more

Love the veggie Bahn Mi! The staff is super cool too. Don't be deterred by the strip mall location. It's awesome!

I have cravings for their banh mi every now and then! Love the lemongrass sauce and the "Asian" flavored meats. Pho was not bad either. Only downside is that their items aren't the most filling? read more

The food is always good here. Fair prices, nice staff. My only issue is the inconsistent size of the portions when you dine in vs. carry out. The portions are always bigger when dining in vs. carrying out. Have ordered their Masaman Curry numerous times but on recent visits the "to go" plastic bowl was only half full. I typically take that much home with me if I dine in. Just doesn't make sense. If they charged less for carry out it might make sense. I've also ordered the "Peace, Love, and Coconut" dish, which is incredible. If I dine in, the portion size is great and I always take some home. If it get it to go, the same small plastic container partially full. They just need some quantity controls or guidelines in place read more

PRICEY. Food is tasty, consistent. Casual place, no frills.

Great place for lunch. Eclectic menu with healthy Vietnamese sandwiches and burgers.

Delicious food - vast variety of options A little pricy waitstaff kind Manager a little rude read more

Sad, I wanted a proper/authentic bowl of pho... skimpy servings, not real pho broth, definition of gentrified pho. You guys are neither Vietnamese nor western. You try to take a traditional cuisine and put your own modern and hip twist on it, in doing so you've lost all true authenticity, despite all of this, I do appreciate the effort and highly value the fact that you're spreading Vietnamese cuisine to a broader audience, good luck, I wish the owner well. ~ K.J.L. read more

It's in a pretty easy to miss place on the corner of 3rd and Dunn, but it's a great place for quality fast sandwiches for an awesome price. The owner of Basil Leaf runs this place, so the sandwiches are inspired by Vietnamese banh mi. I had the lemongrass beef sandwich #7. It was quite good and the portion was pretty big for a $3.50 price. The only draw backs were that all of the veggies are grilled. I prefer fresh pickled carrots, cucumber, and jalapeno and no grilled onion, but I'm not complaining about the flavors. There is a $5 min if you pay with a card, but otherwise, this place is great. Oh, and the baguettes the sandwiches come on are very very good. read more

This is the first place I've taken the time to review, and this because I want it to stick around. The sandwiches are tasty, the people are nice and the prices are good. Yes, the decor could be better, but I'm not complaining. read more

I have never been disappointed eating here. It may not be truly authentic but it is delicious and fresh. I just ate the pork lemongrass bbq bahn mi, Amazing! And those fries are spot on! Love the food, love this place. read more

This place is no joke. Sure, it looks like a doctor's office. Yeah, it smells weird. Yes, you can also buy motor oil and lip balm here...but the sandwiches are dank. read more

Ok so yes this place is in an awkward strip mall, and yes its kind of jank inside, but honestly, you're not going to get a better sandwich in Bloomington. Good amount of options so that if you go quite often you're never bored. And SERIOUSLY tasty. As a senior foodie who grew up on the east coast, I think Rush Hour Station could compete with some of the better sandwiches I've had! TRY IT! read more

Was really excited about trying a Vietnamese joint in town. Then I tried the pho and was thoroughly disappointed. The pho was not authentic Vietnamese pho. The banh mi fell short of expectations as well; the pork was drenched in soy sauce. I will not recommend. read more

I came from California and expected this to be a quick and easy tasteful place, yet I experienced none of that. Those who know "pho" would not consider this pho. There were italian or spaghetti meat balls in the noodles. Not authentic at all. I guess when its a college town, anything works. Not for your travelers though. Better service too. Walked in and the ladies were rude and rushy. Dirty ice bucket and cups. Bean sprouts snd basils were not fresh. Maybe reused. Hoping for a real Vietnamese Restaurant. read more

The decorum is lacking. It's serve yourself condiments and drinks. The condiments (ketchup, sriracha, mayo, hoisin, fish sauce) may or may not be sticky depending on your luck. And honestly, I can't attest to anything other than the banh mi and the french fries. Yes, I order french fries at a Vietnamese restaurant. Sorry, I'm American. Every time I go, I get a banh mi and a medium fry (which comes piping hot and seasoned with pepper) to share with the table, which we dip in ketchup mixed with sriracha. The sandwiches are phenomenal. I don't know if they're authentic, as some have questioned on this site, but they seem to be after a quick googling. What I can tell you is: you've never had anything like it (unless you've had banh mi before, I assume), and it's really, really freaking good. French baguette stuffed with your choice of protein/topping (I prefer the golden mushroom), shredded carrot, cucumber slices, jalapenos (optional), cilantro, mayo, sauteed onion, pate (optional, and only default on meat sandwiches), and your choice of sauce. Sauce options are: lemongrass, teriyaki, sriracha, sweet soy, bbq, korean, curry, asian bbq, "fire engine tim" or "wendale". The lovely cashier/owner will explain the non-intuitive sauces to you if you ask. Every time I propose this as a lunch option at work, my coworkers jump at the idea. Also - it's cheap! For less than the price of a subway sandwich, you get something so much more. I'm giving 4 stars because of the awesome sandwiches. I have often seen other patrons with dishes that look tantalizing, but I can't break away from ordering the banh mi. Areas they could improve on: clean the condiment bottles every night, and provide extra napkins or a location where patrons can grab extras. These sandwiches can get a little messy when you get to the end. One napkin ain't gonna cut it. Also, they recently removed the trash can/tray stand by the door. This makes it very confusing as to what you're supposed to do when you're done. Do you leave your remnants on the table? Do you bus it yourself to a bucket at the back of the store? There were a few buckets with no signage that I dumped all of my garbage into before I left today. I felt bad, but I didn't know what was appropriate. Go there. Get a banh mi. Enjoy. read more

Best Bahn Mi place in Btown. The rice bowl deluxe is also worth a mention. Thank you Robin for bring such wonderful food to Bloomington.

Don't judge a book by its cover. Once you get pst the strip mall entrance, everyone here was really friendly and the food was great. I didn't think there was a decent place to get Pho in Bloomington, but this is it. Not fact at all, a real "no-frillls" kind of place but the food is good and authentic. Also the bubble tea was tasty! We'll be back! read more

If there is a better place that serves excellent Asian food at the same or cheaper price in town, I'm not aware of it. And I've lived here for 30 years. Don't expect to get wowed by the ambiance, but do expect to be impressed by the value and quality. The sandwiches are great, with plenty of sauces from which to choose. My dentist's office is in the same strip and after a visit, I reward myself with a visit to RHS. Try it. read more

The food here is fresh and really tasty. I don't eat meat and there are lots of veg. options. We have kids and they're always satisfied with the food and it's casual enough that we don't worry about bringing them. The owner is really nice to the kids too, which only makes the experience better. Also they have free parking, ever more appealing with the parking meters all over town... read more

This is one of my favorite places to eat in Bloomington. And considering how much good food there is in this town, I'd say that's a pretty glowing recommendation! They have the best sandwiches in town (banh mi), and the Vermicelli salad (with the egg rolls) is also excellent. The owner, Robin, is also very friendly and kind--she always works to make sure that your food is just how you wanted it. Even better is the fact that the food is very affordable for a quick lunch. I definitely recommend it. read more

Such a huge fan! I got the Asian pork sandwich w/ lemongrass, jalapenos, and all the normal fixings (which includes pate) and I've been blown away both times. Thai iced tea is as good as Siam House and My Thai, and costs less. Pineapple curry today was perfection, too. read more

Worst asian restaurant in town. I ordered their drunken noodle. It was purely salty. If you think a traditional Asian dish cooked by Mexican "chief" in 5 min could taste good, try it! read more

Love the food and the people there, if I lived closer to downtown I would eat it every day.

Awesome pho awesome sandwiches. Rice dishes and vermicelli dishes are ok. Love this place!!
