Original Runza Sandwich
Bryan V.

The last time I was in Nebraska I had Runza to go and we ate back ate our hotel and it was just ok. I gotta say eating a fresh one makes a big difference and the ranch sauce was surprisingly good. My girlfriend is fom Nebraska and said we need to eat it fresh to appreciate it and I would say this is true. The last time I had a cheese one, but this time I went OG. The place was super clean and welcoming. The SOBE pomegranate drink that had at the fountain machine was pretty darn good that I had to get multiple refills.

When you come to Nebraska, Runza is a staple that you must get. We stopped in for lunch. I got the spicy jack and fringes. So tasty and everything was fresh. Never disappointed.

Not my favorite Runza. The chili was way too spicy, and the employees were efficient, but not particularly friendly. I appreciate efficiency, but a robot could do as well. Kind of a shame; I like the Runza locations that have employees who care. And I need food that's not so spicy. This was inedible.

Runza, Culver's, and Cracker Barrel are possibly the only chains that I love in the Midwest. I think of Runza as the White Castle of Nebraska. The sandwiches, a type of pastry filled with onions, cabbage, and ground beef....it's like a homemade Hot Pocket!! Runza has pulled up, big time, since me first falling in love with these tasty sandwiches in 2008. Nothing was better than getting a runza and a side of french onion dip with crinkled fries. But, when I went this summer the menu had changed. They now had a Asian style runza with sriracha, crispy noodles, and a ginger sauce. They had 4-6 different new runzas and if none of those appealed to you, you could build your own. I got so excited that I ordered 4 of their new ones and concocted one of my own. I took them across the street to, Bottomless Glass, share with folks listening to the band, R-Style. The runzas just made the night even better! If ever you are in NE go to Runza!

Excellent food. Extremely clean kitchen. Never a bad sandwich or fries. Onion rings are to die for.

Not the absolute best runza I've had but pretty close! This place is convenient and easy so that's what really counts!

Sorry I think Runza is over-rated. I've tried the meat pasty and the meat & cheese. (Fart noise) No thank you.

Great fast service. Accommodated a very large order for a soccer team and had it ready on time.

If you are visiting from out of town, it's a must stop for a great midwestern steak dinner - go with the Whiskey filet. Any choice of meat you choose will be great and they are cooked to perfection of your ask. We also had an order of crab legs that were great portion sized. This is one of our favorite places to go!

Decided to return to The Drover for supper before a show, but The Drover drove me away…read more We arrived when they opened at 5. We both ordered the Whiskey Top Sirloin with the Whiskey Marinade with baked potato and salad bar. Includes Bread. The Bread came first and was warm. The bread is really good. The salad bar is decent. Ice berg and greens. I skipped the ice berg and went with the greens. Lots of basic toppings, but everything was fresh. The steak arrived. We both ordered medium to medium well with a light pink center. Mine came out less than rare and was raw in the center. My wife's was half correct and half rare. She kept it and ate the good part. I sent it back. Before sending it back it was very hard to cut the steak. When it came back it was charred and now it was like chewing shoe leather. The worse steak I have gotten at a restaurant. The first 3 tables had steaks sent back that we saw and another two tables sent steaks back. This is a problem with the cook. This is a steakhouse and having a cook who doesn't know how to prepare a steak is a serious problem. The waitress never came back and the service was terrible. Just opened up for the evening and not warm and friendly. I had a show to go to and was not sending it back again and based on the experience so far I wouldn't want to send it back. I won't return due to the service. The wait staff saw and knew how many steaks were being returned. That would be a huge red flag to involve management. They didn't do anything to make it right and we had a show to catch. The return to The Drover was a huge disappointment and need a different staff and master cooking steaks as a steak house.

I noticed a lot of newer eateries and businesses in Aksarben since the last time I was there, so hopefully some of them stick around a while. Anyhoo, on to Crispy Burger! First off, the interior is bright and colorful, with a lot of orange, red, and then an accent wall of black and white geometric shapes. It's a super welcoming vibe! One thing that's kind of weird is that the building (and Yelp and Google) says Crispy Chicken, but all the wrappers and signs say "Crispy Burger" which was confusing. The smells inside when you walk in make your mouth water, so get ready to over order if it's your first time here (we definitely did!) They have a LOT of fried things, like fried chicken, mozzarella sticks, popcorn chicken, etc. So this definitely is not an every day place if you are looking for health food. We ordered the cheese sticks to start and they were enormous. Definitely shareable between a few people, as each cheese stick is like an appetizer in itself! I ordered the nuggets and fries, and they were really well breaded and pretty large. You can choose from about 1500 sauces for dipping (ok, maybe more like ten, but that's still a lot!) The fries were great too, that come as a side in your box. My husband had the bone in chicken wings combo, and he was very pleased with his choice. Gigantic wings, with fries, a biscuit, and mashed potatoes and gravy on the side. Now is Crispy Burger fine dining or somewhere you'd go on a date night? Definitely not. But it's nice, tasty food, for a pretty inexpensive price. So I would definitely recommend trying it out next time you're in the Aksarben area!

We ordered a chicken nugget meal with teriyaki skewers and a biscuit with a side of fries. This meal had a ton of food and left us feeling as full as a tick. I'd have to say the fan favorite of the night was the skewers. The flavor was so tasty and light. I believe it was chicken thighs, there were some fatty pieces but I honestly didn't mind. The nuggets reminded me of a similar fast food location with the Golden Arches logo. I honestly didn't mind because these had more flavor and seasonings within; same consistency of chicken within though. I can see myself coming back here to try some of their boba and rolled ice cream!
