Runza is a favorite. When we come to Nebraska we have to have one during our visit. We ordered a cheese Runza and a burger. Both with fries. The service was slow. The cheese Runza was pretty good, but not as good as I remembered. The fries weren't hot and tasted like maybe the oil was not fresh. The burger was a disappointment. Dry, bun wasn't as good. It didn't taste fresh. This location needs some TLC! We went to another location at 56th and Holdredge and it was delicious. I recommend that location. read more

First time hearing about this fast food chain and gave it a try. We just had the rueben and were super full. The cashier was friendly and suggested to try the kid's meal. Had the mushrooms and cheese sandwich with frings. Those frings were hot and sandwich was soft and yummy. Will definitely try again if we see this restaurant again in the future! read more

Well, I'm from a different part of the USA, but I loved this. I'll probably get some hate for saying this, but for "foreigners" I'd say the Runza is the mixedgrass prairie version of WI/MI/Mn Cornish pasties, Midwest's bierocks, or even empanadas. Basically it is a scrumptious, hand held meat pie. Runzas are rectangular, unlike the meat pies found in some other places. Typically the crust is filled with ground meat (several kinds available), and almost all edition include cabbage as well, which sets it apart from some things like many versions of pasties (at least the ones that I've had). Some come with cheese, some with mushrooms, and they even offer a Southwest version that includes fried taco strips. Personally I liked the original best, but on my second trip I got the Spicy Jack Runza. I won't say it was a disappointment because it tasted good, but it's not really spicy! However, I suspect that is because the cheese soothes any heat. And mine had plenty of cheese. Yes it was delicious, but I'd prefer it either be spicier or that they omit the cheese. I don't actually know if they will do either, but try it if you live near one (and like spicy foods); if I ever return to Nebraska, I'm going to try. There were several of us on these visits, and we ordered both fries and onion rings to share, along with the French onion dip. Both were fine, actually quite good in some ways, but by no means the star of the show. Neither were "exceptional" and didn't outshine the Runza. The French onion dip really helped the onion rings, but not the fries. The fries were not as crisp as we generally like, but they were fine, fully cooked, and soft on the inside. By no means the best we've had, but we certainly ate them all. The onion rings were quite good. To be honest, I can only recall three or four places that I felt had better onion rings. Crispy outside and soft onion inside. But the batter has little flavor on its own, so I recommend the French onion dip. Definitely returning. Even hoping they open a franchise near me. read more

I came to runza for the first time since I moved to Lincoln a few months ago. Their Swiss Mushroom Burger was delicious I also liked the fries. I had a twisted ice cream cone it was also tasty. I will have to try one of the Runza's next time. I haven't had these kinds of fries in a while they were also delicious. I'll be sure to come back in the future and try everything else on the menu. read more

Wow. The guy running the drive through was possibly the rudest person I've experienced in quite some time. I clearly stated my order and was given a total that didn't match what we had ordered. So when we pulled up to the actual window, we confirmed what the order should have been, and the order was taken incorrectly. We quickly corrected the order and the gentleman was very short and rude when updating the price. When he gave us the food, he practically shoved the bags into the car and then quickly shut the window in our face. When we got home and opened our order, we discovered what can only be described as the saddest looking cinnamon roll to ever grave this planet. Have always enjoyed the local Runza restaurants, but have noticed in last few months the quality is really going down hill. The burgers use to be just like homemade, hanging off the bun. Now any time at any location, they are tiny and over cooked. More like the size of a jr. burger. They've also changed the bun, its now larger and harder and more yellow, it changes the over all taste of the burger. Makes us not want to return. Prices gone up and size and quality of burger gone way down. Plus had no ketchup at the pump, we had to hunt and ask around for packets at least. read more

So after over 10 years without a Runza and Onion Rings I was desperately craving Runza. And when that moment finally arrived to enjoy a Runza I savored every single morsel. Runza's are soft and warm and creamy and just plain delicious. My favorite is the Swiss and Mushroom Runza. All I must say is if you live near a Runza, YOU GOTTA CHERISH IT! I'm only giving this one star because I have to.. This filthy animals give shame to the runza franchise. To start with I ordered 3 bottles of water and she only gave me two, even after repeating my order! I also orders 3 chicken breasts on my salad and I know damn well what a chicken breast looks like and this was ALMOST one full (small) chicken breast and it was BUNRT AND DRY. My son ordered a runza meal. His runza was flat sawgy and burnt and tastes like a wet paper towel. His fries were also burnt. DO NOT GO TO THIS RUNZA.
