Diane and I stopped here for lunch on our return from Chicago. The interior was plain, but piped in Blues and 50's Rock 'n' Roll music provided a nice audible backdrop. Excellent hot Chili with small beans was served. A Chicken Club Sandwich on a plain bun was okay. And so was an unusual Cheese Frenchee, a variation of a Grilled Cheese Sandwich. Normally, the food is pretty good here. However, today I ordered a fish sandwich and it was terrible. Overcooked, hard to eat. When I took the top of the bun off to put tartar sauce on the fish did not look right. You can't tell me the cook didn't know that the fish was overcooked. Should've made a new one. No excuse for serving a fish sandwich like this one. I guess I need to stick with burgers. Our family of 10 tried to dine here this evening as our daughter chose it for her birthday and they had booths that sat 2-4 people and a round table that sat 6. We were told we were not allowed to move 3 tables together to seat our family together because according to the manager it's the GM's policy. I said "Just to confirm, you won't allow our family to eat together if we have to move your tables?" She replied with "We have the large tables for that and I said "they only seat 6, we tried that first!" I said "we are leaving if we can't dine together!" She didn't care that they lost the business. My husband and I stopped for dinner at Don and Millie's on 56th Street in Lincoln. The food, as always, was outstanding (they by far make the best cheeseburger in Lincoln...hand-formed beef patties with just the right amount of juiciness)....when we left, FOUR different employees acknowledged us. The worker sweeping the floor told us to have a great evening, and he thanked us for coming, the person working in the kitchen thanked us and told us to have a nice evening, the guy wiping tables thanked us and told us to come back, and the person at the order counter said goodbye and thanked us for coming. WOW! Good food and great service! You just don't find that kind of employee kindness and attention anymore, so Don and Millies now has a permanent customer with us! read more

A 50's vintage retro diner, complete with Formica and stainless steel. Think of it as a 50's drive thru. Burgers, fries, hotdogs shakes and a salad or two thrown in. I opted for the chili dog and rings and it did not displease. Hand breaded rings. The footlong was actually grilled on a flattop (Unlike others that microwave or keep them in a vat of warm water. I opted for the $.99 margarita. Well shall we say it was a $.99 margarita. And a coke or shake would have been a much better choice There are several locations in Omaha and Lincoln NE. My GF and I had a craving for some D&M's a couple weeks ago so went on an adventure to fulfill our cravings. I ordered the double don with fries. It was really tasty! They charge extra for everything without telling you. I asked for pickles and lettuce and got charged for both!

The cheeseburger deluxe and grilled chicken club sandwich from Don & Millie's are 5 star fast food in my opinion. Beef is ground fresh daily and served at prices that are comparable to other fast food options in the area. Best burger available from a drive thru in Lincoln. Best fast food grilled chicken sandwich in Lincoln, better than Chick-fil-a's in my opinion. Soups 4 stars Fries and Taco Salads 3 stars I'm not a fan of their onion rings or cheese frenchees, some people love them, just not for me. read more

To me, a disappointment! I got a milk shake, took a bite of a "cheese frenchee," & tasted ONE french frie. I tasted the deep fryer grease laden oil in the frenchee & frie! The shake did nothing for me. But it's not my style of food anymore. If you have embraced a healthy lifestyle, this ain't the place! Sadly, there's a huge demographic that will flock here. They have a old school greasy spoon dinner appeal, but a larger and cleaner atmosphere. My daughter wanted a hotdog and that sounded good to me. She went with the kids dog and I the footlong chili cheese dog. They have all the traditional burgers, fries, hotdogs, and shakes you could imagine at a fast food restaurant in a more or less fast casual setting. There is plenty of seating and there happened to be several large groups meeting for lunch. Overall a decent meal at a good price. read more

so this is way less then a one star we ordered a cheeseburger no onion ( due to allergy) so I took it back and asked for them to fix it yet again explained no onion (due to pretty much life threatening allergy. the cook was angry to fix it and was very loud about it so they bring it back to us and what he did was scrap them off it and give it back. so they added more ketchup and mustard to hide the taste. as we are getting ready to leave he noticed his face was itching and swelling so we immediately have to head to the hospital. I called them and all the manager said was I'm sorry he will get a write up. I said I'm glad a write up is worth a life. I Have never left here feeling less than satisfactory with my meal choice; whether it's the Double Don, tuna frenchee, anything at all really. Definitely not what I expected. 1st time dining, I ordered the chicken taco salad, NO onions & side of onion rings to-go. Got my order pretty quick, which was nice but the food was terrible. Lots of diced onions in my salad, lettuce was very soggy and unappetizing, but their ranch dressing was pretty tasty. ( Ill give that to them,) Onion rings were cold and greasy, and the bag was soaked in grease. Waste of $10, wont be going back. read more

This is my favorite Don and Millie's. Always good food and great customer service, very accommodating in every way they can to make a person enjoy their visit. The restaurant is clean and bathroom's are very accessible with plenty of stalls. We love the 50's, 60's music and of course the .99 cent Margarita's. I highly recommend this restaurant not only for reasonable prices but lots of fun!! read more
