Celebrity yelper Jeffrey R enjoying the Fattoush, Hummus, & Gyro Meat
Dale L.

So glad we came back after the awful experience last time. The Fattoush l, hummus, and gyro meat platter is amazing. More than enough for two people. Large portions, freshly made and just a little over $20. Well worth it. The service was great today and the interior... well is an interior.

Dustin H.

Rumors is a fascinating restaurant. It's in one of the busiest parts of town, and while often packed, it's completely missable driving by. We've been many times in the past, and like many of the other reviews point out, it was the terrible service that kept us from returning. We popped in today, after taking a decade-long break, and were pleasantly surprised by the food. It was delicious, and my zatar bread, served with sour cream and a couple of scrambled eggs, provided me with one of the most interesting breakfasts I've had in recent memory. But yeah... while today was great, historically the service is not good, and more than enough reason not to come back.

Service continues to slip. Waited over 45 minutes for one plate to share. Everyone around us was served and still no food or apology. So sad that one of my favorite places is no longer.

The menu has a lot of variety. It's a relaxing place to eat. I've been here a few times this year and I am always blown away with the huge portions! Enough for a few meals :) Great that omelets are available at lunch too, which was easy for my friend with food restrictions.

I had amazing food and amazing service! I am vegan and they have such a great variety of Mediterranean food. my husband and I enjoyed a plate of the best falafel in town. it was perfectly seasoned and not greasy. we also had greek salad and hummus that was not too garlicky. service was fast and friendly. when we are not vegan, we eat their gyros and those are the yummiest!

Looking all over for a nice place for breakfast and a good morning cocktail, it took us an hour, but we found this place at the corner here with rumors. The crew is awesome I do recommend it. Thank you Amber and staff

Good food. Would've given it 5 stars but the wait staff could be better. Always short staffed. Carry out is always good.

The hummus is interesting, substantial with an almost pesto-like quality. Delicious. The spinach pie is flaky and savory. The fatoosh has tasty pita croutons in it. Speaking of pita, Mano's pita is fluffy and served in triangles. There are a lot of excellent Mediterranean places in Toledo, but Mano's definitely earns its place in the pantheon. Bonus: they are connected to one of the best bars in Toledo, The Attic.

The baked feta... a 1/3 brick of feta broiled with red pepper flakes and olive oil is hands down my favorite way to eat this flavorful cheese. The fact that they use GOOD feta goes a long way to making this a delicious way to start a meal. Spread on bread or pita, it's divine. For me, the go-to entree is the patio platter. I get mine without rice, which means the plate is piled high with green beans, fresh tomatoes, green peppers and Manos' consistently absurdly strong white onions. The sliced sausage is strongly flavored and goes great with the veggies. I've had it more times than practically any other food item in the city of Toledo. All of Manos' vegetarian dishes are sure to please. I love his Spanakopita. Mushier than you may find elsewhere, but it's still delicious. To that point, most dishes feel homemade. Presentation changes based on the day of the week, as does preparation. Same as you'd find at home. The service is always friendly, and if you're lucky enough to get one of the old school waitresses, you're in for some stories if you engage them right. Super friendly even on busy nights, they aim to please. I've been eating at Manos for basically my entire food conscious life and while yes, I've had better greek food elsewhere, there are certain items on Mano's menu that I think are perfect. Combine them with a classic atmosphere, and a lovely patio in the summertime and you have one of my favorite, constant "go to" restaurants in the city of toledo. Not looking for a sit-down meal, and thirsty for some drinks? Head upstairs to the "Attic" bar. They offer the full Manos menu, plus a full bar and friendly service.

Have you ever been to a restaurant and your experience is so great, and the food is immaculate, and you KNOW that in your heart, that it doesn't matter what you order from the menu, you're GOING to leave satisfied? Well Souk is that type of restaurant. Definitely make a reservation. I did not, but I lucked up with a table in the bar area. Here's what I ordered: Calamari- One of my favorites out of the hundreds I've had. I typically don't care for the thicker semi-crispy calamari as much, but theirs was so fresh, I'm convinced if that type of calamari doesn't taste good somewhere else, it's probably due to the quality or method of cooking. Grape leaves- Enjoyed those and well-packed Braised Short Rib- Amazing. 10/10. Tender and flavorful. I loved the brussel sprouts. The celery root puree on the plate complimented it so well I thought it was mashed potatoes puree, lol. Like that's genius. Sumac Seared Ahi Tuna- I did not personally order this. I want to try other items, but I can't shake that craving ha ha! Souk is definitely a lovely place to dress up for date night and the prices are very reasonable so that is always a plus! It does tend to be a bit chilly inside, so I suggest bringing a sweater but I'd 100xs rather bring a sweater than be sweaty. Also, I'd suggest making a reservation as this is a popular spot downtown. 10/10 would recommend!

While I did not experience the ambiance at Grape Leaf Diner today, I can say from a past visit that the atmosphere is clean, bright with lots of windows, and with comfortable chairs and booths. The restaurant is located near or within a small strip mall at the Holland, OH location. (The Grape Leaf Express location in Toledo, OH located on Monroe St near Franklin Park Mall is also in a strip mall.) The food ordered today included chicken shawarma, yellow rice with vegetables (green beans, corn and peas), hummus, pita bread, and a Greek salad. There was also a dish of grilled vegetables that included squash and zucchini. While I didn't want to be rude and photograph food in the middle of the party, I took some screenshots posted by the restaurant to give you an idea of the food presentation. The salad ingredients were very fresh and delicious. Hummus was perfectly flavored. I always wish that Mediterranean rice had more vegetables, though it was delicious. I found the chicken shawarma a bit salty, but I'm salt-sensitive, so most people probably would love it; the meat was lean. As for the zucchini and squash vegetables, they looked delicious but we didn't have plastic knives, and I couldn't manage to cut them or eat them with the plastic forks. It was a beautiful presentation and I recommend that you give this restaurant a try! A tip for summer weather: the A/C was cranked up high when I was last there... maybe bring a jacket or sweater if you tend to run cold.

I order the Medieterranean Junk Salad with a side of rice and a chocolate chip cookie. The salad . . . so many vegetables! Two kinds of meat! Crispy pita chips! Big enough to fill me up and often leave a bit leftover. The cookies. Some of the best chocolate chip cookies I've had anywhere. They are super thin and an amazing crispy/chewy texture. They told me once that the special ingredient that makes them that way is marshmallow. If you're ordering carry-out, you might want to order on the phone rather than the website. They prioritize phone orders, or at least they did last time I asked. Online orders take longer to fill. And you get a discount for your birthday if you sign up for their texts. The few times I've eaten in, I've liked it too. Very nice ambiance. I hope they eventually will extend their hours back to the pre-pandemic hours and be open for dinner more days of the week. But if the current hours are what works for their business model, then I'm just happy to have them around. Their location in Perrysburg is also very good. I've only eaten there a few times, but I'm pretty sure it's all the same quality of food.

Didn't think to time it until I'd been seated for a bit, but I'm guessing I waited a bit over 15 minutes. Not terrible, though a little more than expected, considering the place was only half full. Fortunately, once my meal came I enjoyed it. The falafel was broken up and spread across the top so it mixed nicely with the tahini dressing. Lettuce and other veggies were crisp. I'd certainly order another, though I might wait until the warmer months. And I might order ahead too, as the sign over the counter advises that you may.
