Punching bags

I had such a good time at Rumble! The class is 1/2 weights and 1/2 time spent on the bag. The coach stands on the podium and will guide you through your workout. They also show the workout on the wall if you need a reminder of which combo/exercise you're supposed to be doing. I was definitely sore afterwards! The ambiance was pretty chill, the decor in this place was cool! I love the lights, it almost makes you feel like you're in a club. The staff was extremely helpful and super nice! I'll be back soon to kick some butt!

Crossfit Danville is awesome! I started Crossfit on a recommendation from my orthopedic surgeon…read moreafter ACL surgery to aid in my knee rehab. At first this sounded bizarre - I thought "Won't I get hurt doing Crossfit?" or "I've never done back squats or those other crazy Crossfit handstand pushups and other things before...this will be intimidating". I can say 100% for certain: It's not crazy nor is it intimidating. Dusty, the owner and main coach, is VERY helpful in working with you and within your abilities. For example, my wife started coming to Crossfit classes with me (did Barre and other aerobic type classes) but was hesitant because she has always had shoulder pain/issues. Dusty helped her to modify exercises and/or chose an appropriate weight so that she could still get a great workout in, get a good sweat on and have a good time. More importantly, her shoulder wasn't in pain the rest of the day. I thoroughly enjoy the wide variety of classes offered from the conventional Crossfit classes at 5:30am to get a good workout in before kids, work, crazy life starts & the variety of endurance (cardio emphasis rowing/running/biking/etc) and other lighter weight classes at 8:30am which I enjoy doing with my wife a couple days a week. You can find something you like here and you will find the others working out with you are all supportive and there to have a good time and get a good workout in. One thing I hear from friends interested in Crossfit but hesitant to start is the fear of not being able to do all the exercises that 'everyone else is doing'. We all started from not being able to do all those things! For the first year or so, I couldn't do a normal pull-up but my friends in class could do 10 in a row. This gave me something to shoot for; to be able to do a pull-up like my fellow Crossfiters and with time I got there. Dusty is a big help in working with you on what your goals are and to meet these goals. For some, always modifying and just getting a good workout in is common and not looked down upon by anyone at Crossfit Danville. I would give Crossfit Danville a try if you are interested in Crossfit! But do tell Dusty that I referred you (if you read this) since I might possibly get a cool prize and maybe a little referral perk :-)

Not sure why this business is rated so highly. The customer service is very poor and…read moreunprofessional , which speaks highly to the owners' business model and treatment of potential clients. I contacted them a year ago when they had a CrossFit gymnastics course happening and they were quite professional and referred me to their coach./instructor. We reached out again this year specifically to the coach and instructor and received abrupt emails from Tiffany (co-owner) not addressing that there was no longer this course and abruptly recommended classes without explanation as to what they were. I asked for a call and never received one, but sent a follow-up thinking that my 14 year old could try out the teens class. She emailed to deter us and said that it was too advanced and that she needed to go to the pre-teen class (without meeting us or explanation - as far as I'm concerned an almost 15 year old athlete is a teen, not a middle school tween). Her husband Dusty then chimed in and basically said that was incorrect, explained what happened to the gymnastics class, and that our could join the teen class, he tried to get it straightened out (why a co-owner would not know this or know how to respond is beyond me). however when I provided feedback to him about the rude email responses and lack of even receiving a courtesy call upon request, he stopped responding as well. Poor business and communication skills all around, would NOT recommend entertaining this business if that's how they view potential clients - apparently they don't care nor need the business.

Ok buckle in and get comfy because this is gonna be a long review. I have always been a notoriously…read morelazy person that will not move unless I absolutely have to. But every few years, I'll start feeling bad about myself, sign up for a gym, and pay for it every month and go once or twice a year. So when my friend asked me if I wanted to do a trial class at OrangeTheory and I loved it and signed up, my husband was very skeptical. That was over two years ago. I'm still consistently going, minus one month where I had some health issues. Let me spill all the deets. There are three plans you can sign up for - 4 classes a month, 8 classes a month or unlimited. Let's get the cons out of the way first. If you sign up for a class and don't cancel more than 8 hours in advance, you either lose the class (if you have the 4/8 class plan) or you have to pay $14 (I think) for the unlimited plan. Honestly, this works in my favor because it's very motivating to go. They also have their own heart rate monitor that connects with their system - you can't use your own monitor. Their monitor is over $100. You don't HAVE to have it, but for me personally, this monitor gamifies the whole workout so I feel like it's a necessity. Now for the actual structure of the workout. You have different zones depending on your heart rate. The zones go from blue to green to orange to red as your heart rate increases. The orange zone is where ORANGETheory gets their name. You can ask them more about the science, I don't want to fake news you. There is a coach and then there's you and other people like you that are not the coach. There are treads, rowers, and the floor. The floor is strength - weights, resistance bands, other things. Usually, you start either on the tread or the floor and then alternate to the other halfway through the class. When you start on the floor, you warm up on the rower. On the tread, there are three categories of you - you are a power walker, jogger or runner. Then there are different levels - base pace, push and all out. Depending on this 3x3 matrix, there are windows of your pace + incline. For example, a power walker's base pace is 3.5 - 4.5 speed and 1-3% incline and their all out is the same pace with a 10% incline. A jogger's base pace would be 4.5 - 5.5 with no incline (don't quote me on these ranges). A push basically pushes you (there are ranges) and all-outs are supposed to kill you. The coach will tell you how long you need to stay in each - for example: 1 minute base, 2 minutes of push and 30 seconds of all out. And will tell you when to switch between each. These ranges are suggestions, the coaches will never call you out if you decide to take it easy some days and go lower than the range. On the floor, you choose the weights or resistance, and there is a screen showing you what workout to do and the range of reps you need to do. The coach will demonstrate the forms and walk around and fix your form if necessary. Sometimes you will go on the rower in between floor exercises. Then there are events and challenges that gamify the whole workout. There is an event called Hell Week for example around Halloween. They are more intense workouts and if you get 4 workouts in an 8 day period, you will get a shirt. These are usually $15 extra, but I always like to sign up for these. There's a workout called Capture the Flag where you and a partner are on the rower and trying to reach certain goals to capture different flags and this one always makes me feel like I"m going to die, but in a good way. There are many many others, and for the single day events, you usually get a metric so you can compare this metric to the next time the same event rolls around to see how much you've improved (or not, which is cool too) I realize it's not for everyone, but for me personally, I (and everyone else who's known me for a long time) can't believe how consistently I work out now. My husband was astounded, and to this day, my friend who dragged me to the trial class is incredibly proud of herself (which she absolutely should be). I at least recommend a trial class (hit me up so I can take you and refer you!). Even if you don't like it, it'll be such a great workout. Also, it's easy to burn 500+ calories in an hour.

Whether you're brand new to fitness, a parent juggling life, pregnant or postpartum, or a competitive athlete chasing podiums, this gym truly meets you where you are and helps you rise. In 2025, I hit a PR in a women's single HYROX and was on a women's elite Hyrox relay team, and I can confidently say HAWC played a huge role in that success. This gym trains HYROX first-timers alongside professional elite HYROX competitors, and somehow everyone feels supported, challenged, and motivated. There are multiple podium HYROX athletes, DEKA competitors (and podium world champion athletes), Spartan racers, and elite professional members training here, and the culture is never intimidating, it's only inspiring. HAWC is veteran-owned by Dan he shows up everyday and pours his heart and soul into his gym. HAWC gym has amazing trainers as well coach Lindsay, Dan and Doug are hands down some of the best coaches I've ever worked with. They genuinely care about your progress, your health, and your long-term success. They know how to push you safely, intelligently, and confidently. The vibe is unmatched. Pregnant mamas are coached with care and respect, athletes of all ages are empowered, and newcomers are welcomed with open arms. Every day I walk in, I'm pushed to be better physically, emotionally and mentally. I'm so grateful to have found HAWC Gym in San Ramon. If you're looking for a change in 2026, this is it. Show up. The classes feel like studio classes (like barre or spin, etc.) that you'd be paying almost $200/month for without any amenities or regular gym equipment. I've been to other gyms in the past that had a lot of hm, lets just call it people watching and social hour. Folks here are definitely here to workout, do their own thing and friendly. Definitely a no judgement zone. I also had some hesitations based on other reviews about not being able to freeze or cancel membership within the first year especially if you have an injury and what not but decided to go for it anyway despite that, more on that later. Some other other gyms didn't seem to be any better based on those reviews so it probably would've been similar issues elsewhere anyway. When you initial sign up, they give you some comp sessions with a trainer (to obviously sell you personal training) but it's something I wanted to try anyway. I thought, why not, let's give it a go for a few months since I thought it would be good to get an extra boost and back into a routine. Well, a few months had passed and then I had some travel plans so I was away from the gym but then came back from my travels with a severe knee injury where I could barely walk. It sucked but I showed up anyway. Not because I couldn't cancel my membership due to the contract terms but because I needed movement for rehab. I was initially hesitant about returning to training because I felt like I wouldn't be training at 100%. And let's be real, the training sessions aren't cheap. After some discussion with physical therapist for a rehab plan, I decided to return to training with Summer and it was honestly one of the best decisions I've made. Summer programed exercises for me to supplement my PT. She has been really awesome to work with, because my program needed a lot of re-working along the way to adapt to my rehab progress. She's also open to feedback and really great with listening to my input on things that I want to work on. While I am still ways away from being 100% recovered from my knee injury, I already feel like it's night and day compared to just a few months ago. So why only 4 stars? Well, only taking one off is quite generous despite some issues with their app, specifically for training and the so-so amenities in the locker room. The app isn't the best and there were some miscommunications with it that led to a lot of frustration but the training manager Matt was really nice and made it right. The other reason for taking off the star was the amenities which they finally changed to something that smells way better. The previous products didn't smell good and it seemed like the shampoo, body wash, and face cleanser seemed like it was all the same soap in the shower. Didn't feel like there is anything different between the stuff in the bottles. It wouldn't even upset me that there was just one multipurpose wash but the same soap in the different bottles is just confusing for me. Like what's the point? Anyway, good riddance with the old stuff. I haven't tried the new stuff yet aside from the lotion that smells heavenly. I haven't been to the other locations to compare but this one is sufficient for my needs.

Was in the area and decided to tour the location. Was shown around by Desiree. She was pleasant but…read moreseemed new. The location is interesting inside of this big mall like area. Parking can be annoying as there's many competing business around. The weight area is small and seems cramped for prime time. There was some small group training going on and navigating through them while being shown around was awkward, I could only imagine this place when it's after work. I was shown around the place at 2-3PM on a weekday. Aside from the small 7ish group training whatever it was going on there was no other active classes going on. Other reviews express concerns with classes being cancelled or the lack of them existing yet the site promotes their app with "lots of classes." So that would be concerning if you're a class attendee. I'm personally more into weight training and their equipment is outdated and the space is again.. very cramped. The saunas are nice, cool to have a heated rooftop pool but others have expressed issues with its heating. Locker rooms are nice. The main drawback is their membership. Desiree touted at them being the best location but the membership requirements of committing to a year are laughable. If you're the best, what would stop you from allowing members a month to month to make sure you're delivering on the promises and experience? This membership practice seems snaky to me. Get someone to sign up, they are forced into 3k~/year for an experience that doesn't justify its price tag. I emailed her back letting her know and that I'd be happy to try them out on a month to month in case I just can't work though some of my concerns and it got forwarded to management and then crickets. Similar concerns here with membership, management and classes exist on this page. Sign up at your own risk - but I'd recommend steering clear of this one. Seems like more of a vanity membership than anything else.
