I absolutely love Crossfit Danville! I joined in August of last year to get in shape for my wedding in April 2018. I loss 20lbs while being at Crossfit Danville and I feel great! All the coaches are amazing and helpful while being funny at the same time ;). The main owner/coach (Dusty) is the BEST! He allowed me to have my bachelor party at the gym and inspired my groomsmen to join a Crossfit gym in their home town. I would highly recommend Crossfit Danville if you are serious about joining a gym and having a great Crossfit family.

RUMBLE review I…read moreAFTER ALL THE GYM RELATIONSHIPS IVE BEEN THROUGH IVE FINALLY FOUND THE LOVE OF MY LIFE. RUMBLE IN SAN RAMON. Upon Entrance of the Rumble studio in San Ramon, im immediately greeted name when entering and exiting studio. Its always clean and organized. Inside the fitness studio, benches and floor are always so clean. All the front staff, Kim, Jada, the manager and Owners who would like to remain anonymous, ensure all members are accommodated as best as can be. The Staff and Instructors are always so welcoming to the Rumble members with the most energetic, motivating and positive vibes. The Rumble San Ramon staff and instructors are always so encouraging to the members and are sincere by addressing us with our name. The instructors remind us to stay motivated and acknowledges members efforts on the punching water bag, on the floor at their benches, and celebrating achievements on members "Milestones" and birthdays. Something that i dont get out of my past gym memberships that Rumble provides is that safety is priority, such as using proper form, proper weights, during exercises. The instructors are all so observant ensuring we are executing everything properly. All the instructors put so much effort into coaching the members that they are sweating hard in coaching everyone. (Billy probably sweats the most) EVERYONE HAS their favorites but I cant be tied down to one. I love the variety of what all the instructors bring differently to fitness studio Abhi is so energetic, Zen, and has such a welcoming vibe and still pumps everyone up and motivates us. Billy, the founding trainer, gives everyone amazing boxing style training which makes me feel like a real boxing fighter. The best part is that Billy brings the most comical vibes of entertainment while we are being pushed to our limits and fighting through the exercises for more reps and making fitness more enjoyable with laughs. Jaime, the head trainer, always keeps you on your toes and keeps you in check when you wanna be lazy (i.e. me using 5 pound dumbbells on my lazy day when I always use the 45 pound dumbells). She is always so encouraging to everyone. When you feel like giving up, she will make you feel like you're not alone in the exercises so you feel like you can push yourself even more. Olivia, with professional fighting experience, brings precise fighting techniques with proper form and execution of martial arts and boxing. It feels good to be trained by a pro fighter. Scott puts 1000% in instructing his classes and into all the members to never stop improving themselves with maximizing the time we are training with him. He is that powerful voice you hear during your exercises that give you strength to keep going when you feel like giving up. All the Rumble classes are so upbeat with positive vibes and non-stop safe fitness to energetic music to pump everyone up. It's amazing! After every single Rumble class I leave the studio with all the worries, stress, anxiety and weakness back in the Rumble studio and exit the building with confidence and strength to take on the world and life with courage and my head up. THANKS RUMBLE SAN RAMON. (P.S.-- WIL TOU MARRY ME?)

I also didn't feel like there were enough class times offered which I needed. The classes were fun and high energy. Mostly cardio classes or a booty bootcamp. The classes were usually all full so the room was packed. It was pretty hot in the room and humid. It felt like a sauna and you can basically feel other peoples sweat on you. Since the class was so big, the instructor isn't really able to go around to help anyone. They basically stay up at the stage or go up to the first few people in the front. The studio is very small overall. Lot space is small. The room is cramped. You kinda feel like you might hit your neighbor if on the bags or on the bench side. Locker room area is tiny also. Basically you have to duck and go on top of each other to get to your locker. Bathroom didn't have showers. It was closed for a while due to construction or leaking not sure what happened. Didn't have any issues cancelling but I physically went up to the reception to cancel after my class and I watched them cancel me on the spot.

They take the time to learn everyone's goals and abilities, and they always know how to push you just the right amount. The workouts are challenging but fun, and the energy in every class is incredibly motivating. The coaches create an encouraging environment where you feel supported, no matter your fitness level. They're great at modifying workouts or offering effective alternative moves, which really helps me train safely with my previous injuries. It's clear they truly love what they do and want every member to succeed. The gym itself is well maintained, clean, spacious, and plenty of parking. Towels and showers are available. I also appreciate how mindful the coaches are about wiping down equipment--especially when another member forgets to clean up their (sometimes copious!) sweat. I've worked out at various gyms over the past couple of decades, and this is by far my favorite--even compared to other F45 locations! The positive energy shared among the members, combined with the outstanding coaching team (shout-out to Marlene, Jenn, Vickie, Mei-Mei, Ericka, Michelle, Priscilla, and Raquel!), makes me genuinely look forward to every workout. If you're looking for a place with top-notch coaching, a welcoming atmosphere, and real results, this bootcamp gym is the place to be. Highly recommend!

Since moving near San Ramon, I've been attending this location regularly, and unfortunately my experience has been disappointing. The biggest issue is the front desk staff. Most days I walk in without so much as a greeting or acknowledgment. A simple "hello" or welcoming smile goes a long way, but that's consistently been missing here. The atmosphere feels cold and uninviting compared to every other OrangeTheory studio I've visited. I love the OrangeTheory workouts, but the customer service at this studio has made me not enjoy coming anymore. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and works on creating a more welcoming experience for members because it's trash here

Ok buckle in and get comfy because this is gonna be a long review. I have always been a notoriously…read morelazy person that will not move unless I absolutely have to. But every few years, I'll start feeling bad about myself, sign up for a gym, and pay for it every month and go once or twice a year. So when my friend asked me if I wanted to do a trial class at OrangeTheory and I loved it and signed up, my husband was very skeptical. That was over two years ago. I'm still consistently going, minus one month where I had some health issues. Let me spill all the deets. There are three plans you can sign up for - 4 classes a month, 8 classes a month or unlimited. Let's get the cons out of the way first. If you sign up for a class and don't cancel more than 8 hours in advance, you either lose the class (if you have the 4/8 class plan) or you have to pay $14 (I think) for the unlimited plan. Honestly, this works in my favor because it's very motivating to go. They also have their own heart rate monitor that connects with their system - you can't use your own monitor. Their monitor is over $100. You don't HAVE to have it, but for me personally, this monitor gamifies the whole workout so I feel like it's a necessity. Now for the actual structure of the workout. You have different zones depending on your heart rate. The zones go from blue to green to orange to red as your heart rate increases. The orange zone is where ORANGETheory gets their name. You can ask them more about the science, I don't want to fake news you. There is a coach and then there's you and other people like you that are not the coach. There are treads, rowers, and the floor. The floor is strength - weights, resistance bands, other things. Usually, you start either on the tread or the floor and then alternate to the other halfway through the class. When you start on the floor, you warm up on the rower. On the tread, there are three categories of you - you are a power walker, jogger or runner. Then there are different levels - base pace, push and all out. Depending on this 3x3 matrix, there are windows of your pace + incline. For example, a power walker's base pace is 3.5 - 4.5 speed and 1-3% incline and their all out is the same pace with a 10% incline. A jogger's base pace would be 4.5 - 5.5 with no incline (don't quote me on these ranges). A push basically pushes you (there are ranges) and all-outs are supposed to kill you. The coach will tell you how long you need to stay in each - for example: 1 minute base, 2 minutes of push and 30 seconds of all out. And will tell you when to switch between each. These ranges are suggestions, the coaches will never call you out if you decide to take it easy some days and go lower than the range. On the floor, you choose the weights or resistance, and there is a screen showing you what workout to do and the range of reps you need to do. The coach will demonstrate the forms and walk around and fix your form if necessary. Sometimes you will go on the rower in between floor exercises. Then there are events and challenges that gamify the whole workout. There is an event called Hell Week for example around Halloween. They are more intense workouts and if you get 4 workouts in an 8 day period, you will get a shirt. These are usually $15 extra, but I always like to sign up for these. There's a workout called Capture the Flag where you and a partner are on the rower and trying to reach certain goals to capture different flags and this one always makes me feel like I"m going to die, but in a good way. There are many many others, and for the single day events, you usually get a metric so you can compare this metric to the next time the same event rolls around to see how much you've improved (or not, which is cool too) I realize it's not for everyone, but for me personally, I (and everyone else who's known me for a long time) can't believe how consistently I work out now. My husband was astounded, and to this day, my friend who dragged me to the trial class is incredibly proud of herself (which she absolutely should be). I at least recommend a trial class (hit me up so I can take you and refer you!). Even if you don't like it, it'll be such a great workout. Also, it's easy to burn 500+ calories in an hour.

I was in need of a gym and having a pool was one of the requirements so that limited the options in…read morethe area for me that wasn't a 20 minute+ drive way so I decided to check out Equinox first and ended up really liking the vibe. The classes feel like studio classes (like barre or spin, etc.) that you'd be paying almost $200/month for without any amenities or regular gym equipment. I've been to other gyms in the past that had a lot of hm, lets just call it people watching and social hour. Folks here are definitely here to workout, do their own thing and friendly. Definitely a no judgement zone. I also had some hesitations based on other reviews about not being able to freeze or cancel membership within the first year especially if you have an injury and what not but decided to go for it anyway despite that, more on that later. Some other other gyms didn't seem to be any better based on those reviews so it probably would've been similar issues elsewhere anyway. When you initial sign up, they give you some comp sessions with a trainer (to obviously sell you personal training) but it's something I wanted to try anyway. I thought, why not, let's give it a go for a few months since I thought it would be good to get an extra boost and back into a routine. Well, a few months had passed and then I had some travel plans so I was away from the gym but then came back from my travels with a severe knee injury where I could barely walk. It sucked but I showed up anyway. Not because I couldn't cancel my membership due to the contract terms but because I needed movement for rehab. I was initially hesitant about returning to training because I felt like I wouldn't be training at 100%. And let's be real, the training sessions aren't cheap. After some discussion with physical therapist for a rehab plan, I decided to return to training with Summer and it was honestly one of the best decisions I've made. Summer programed exercises for me to supplement my PT. She has been really awesome to work with, because my program needed a lot of re-working along the way to adapt to my rehab progress. She's also open to feedback and really great with listening to my input on things that I want to work on. While I am still ways away from being 100% recovered from my knee injury, I already feel like it's night and day compared to just a few months ago. So why only 4 stars? Well, only taking one off is quite generous despite some issues with their app, specifically for training and the so-so amenities in the locker room. The app isn't the best and there were some miscommunications with it that led to a lot of frustration but the training manager Matt was really nice and made it right. The other reason for taking off the star was the amenities which they finally changed to something that smells way better. The previous products didn't smell good and it seemed like the shampoo, body wash, and face cleanser seemed like it was all the same soap in the shower. Didn't feel like there is anything different between the stuff in the bottles. It wouldn't even upset me that there was just one multipurpose wash but the same soap in the different bottles is just confusing for me. Like what's the point? Anyway, good riddance with the old stuff. I haven't tried the new stuff yet aside from the lotion that smells heavenly. I haven't been to the other locations to compare but this one is sufficient for my needs.

With Equinox you truly get what you pay for - cleanliness, supportive and attentive staff, great atmosphere, quality equipment and machines, and incredible amenities. As someone who had a membership at both Planet Fitness and 24 Hour Fitness, there is nothing like Equinox. Regardless of the time of day, or day of the week - their version of "busy" or "peak times" is nothing in comparison to other gyms. I've always been able to find a spot to workout (squat rack, free weights, etc) and have hardly ever had to wait for a machine. In the few times I have had to wait, it was super short or Ive been able to work into a set with another person. It's also incredibly clean with wonderful amenities. My ideal Saturday consists of getting to Equinox - completing a workout, steam room session (15-20 mins), shower and massage. Also, I definitely want to shoutout the trainer I worked with, Jordan! I saw results in 3 months of working with him than I have in over a year of training with someone else. There is also a full spa!! Shoutout to Hailey and Amelia!! I've had them both as massage therapists - and they were both AMAZING!!! Overall, is it pricey? Yes, but all of the benefits are more than worth it!!! So happy to have found this incredible gym!!!!
