The only regret you'll have is not starting sooner and starting your combat journey anywhere but CSA. Don't take it from me, take it from the almost triple digit number of belts lining the walls, the hundreds of hands raised with Coach Kirian Fitzgibbons, and the almost two decade long gym history that CSA has. This is not just about high level training, it's about community, discipline, having fun while getting in shape, being able to defend yourself -- there is no one who cannot be in this room with some of the greatest legends. I've trained at many gyms, and I've never been met with such a high level compounded with technique, no ego, and overall the most incredible training partners. It starts from the top down, the North Star being Coach K. He has created an environment where all are welcome -- from throwing your first punch to guiding people to the UFC, PFL, LFA, WBC Championships -- and way too many more to name. Beyond Coach K, you get the highest level of coaches -- for example, ex UFC, previously ranked 7 in the world(!!!!!), WCK World Champion, absolute legend, Jessica-Rose Clark. I've been training 1-1 with her since April and I consider it the best day of my week. I look forward to being with her every single week to not only help improve my game, but my mental game, my outlook on my week, it has significantly helped my mentality -- beyond just physical fitness. On the physical fitness side, I had years of training behind me and I wish I had started at CSA -- so do what I wish I had done, start here, start now. From BJJ Fanatics, "Fitzgibbons is one of the top tier striking coaches in North America, his take no prisoners attitude towards teaching is highly regarded by his students and his peers" If you're still reading, it's time to walk into the gym and change your life for the better.

Brand new Gym where Crunch Fitness used to be. Spacious, clean and well stocked with all the equipment you need and not at all crowded. Highly recommend for anyone looking for an open GYM where you don't have to wait too long for the machine or your choice. There are SO many different rooms with multiple choices of equipment. There's steam and dry sauna, towel service and showers as well. No classes with GYM subscription but they have a deal with Zoya for Yoga & Spin classes that you add on for extra $, as well as extra add on for MMA classes for both kids and adults. The kids MMA class would be held right within the central part of the Gym so a parent would easily work out while waiting. For a free one-day trial you just drop in and check with front desk. They also have a $50/day for non members - great for guests at your house.

One of the best local gyms in the bay. There are mma classes for kids and adults plus a regular fitness equipment too. It's nice to be able to drop kids off at their BJJ or Muay Thai classes and get a full workout in.

Facilities look amazing! My kids are loving the jujitsu classes and it makes it easy for me to work out while they are occupied. Staff is awesome and super helpful. I can't say enough good things about this place.

What an amazing gym and atmosphere. Great equipment, clean all the way around, and really nice staff. Towel service, lockers, and lots more coming from what I hear. Enrolled my kids in the MMA self defense program and they love it. Cant wait for the adult MMA and BJJ to start. The owners are so nice and they are all about community and almost everyone there I have met so far loves local. I signed up with their special and locked in for a year!

Amazing gym - clean facilities and friendly staff! Enrolled my son in jiu jitsu class and will be enrolling my daughter in their self defense class! Their MMA setup is complete with the rink and cage. The owners are local and they're community oriented. It's a great gym for the entire family as the parents can work out while their kids are in class - definite win win!

Absolutely awesome. I've trained here for a couple years now, as well as my teen daughters. Before…read moremoving out to Danville I trained for several years with a world champion under a famous BJJ association, as well as visiting several schools, and I can confidently say this is by far the best experience I've had. It's not enough to have champion black belt instructors. It's the personality and desire to effectively and safely teach both out of shape middle aged newbies and the hardcores, that is hard to find. That's one of the things about DJJ that has consistently impressed me. Want to do something that builds both body and mind, that's actually fun? You can't beat kickboxing, and anybody can do it, regardless of ability or even old injuries. The instructors will build you up. The kids classes are fun and challenging in all the right ways. I honestly think it's imperative to put kids in martial arts. Even if they are already specialized in another sport, the benefits of cross training in kickboxing and/or jiujitsu are invaluable. I'm pretty sure a lot of my kids success in sports can be attributed to the hand- eye and footwork of kickboxing, along with getting comfortable with the physical contact. If you are jiujitsu curious, jump in, it's never too late. You cannot find a better place to do it. But my advice is to commit to no less than a year, because at first it will seem like you are lost in all the positions and techniques, but if you just accept the process and go in with a humble mind and have fun, pretty soon you will be hooked. The first time you tap someone out, and I hope it's me, you'll know. I can assure you this school sees it's students as extended family and the care shows in everything they do. That's an intangible that truly sets DJJ apart. As far as cost, I haven't checked around lately, but when I was shopping for a new school, DJJ prices were in line with everybody else. Frankly, I wouldn't leave here even if it was significantly more, the people alone make it worth it (and I'm no captain of industry!) In case all the cheerleading wasn't enough, there's also good parking, easy freeway access, and excellent beer and food yards away. Hope to see you on the mats!

The environment is strongly, toxic, and not tolerant of neurodivergent, children and adolescence…read more The manager, Josh, who has been there managing the dojo for a few years, has made it obvious that he does not reward children on the autism spectrum who try just as hard as Neurotypical kids. my son adores most of the coaches there - they are good people and great coaches, however, due to the blatant discrimination, I've felt I had to pull my son from their facility and I'm currently looking into other jujutsu dojo's in the Danville area. There are a few kids that go there whose parents are also members that seem to get extreme favoritism - unfortunately I gave this dojo a fair shot and almost canceled it three times-- however, my son really loved a couple of the coaches so I kept hoping the culture would get better -- unfortunately, it did not. Most recently I asked if my son could attend the teen and adult kickboxing classes. He told me that it was only for teens and adults, after my son went a couple times. My son is 11 years old and he was enjoying the kickboxing classes a lot. after a few months I called Josh again and asked him if he could rejoin and Josh said he can rejoin if he doesn't 'have any more tantrums or is disruptive in the class'. However, I was there each time he was in the class as well as my friend Lisa and we never saw any tantrums or disruptions -- what we did see was a lot of questions because they were new to kickboxing, Enzo went there with one of his friends to learn about kickboxing and to participate, and they really loved it. After they were kicked out of the class, I didn't want to make a big deal about it, however I asked again if he could rejoin it, and he said he was too disruptive and throwing tantrums, which was a blatant lie. That was the final straw for me. All my communication has come From Josh , no one else. I also found out that stripes, which are progress awards, are only given to the k kids who attend on 'Gi' days, after attending that dojo for 3 years no one took the opportunity to convey that information to me after i inquired how stripes were given out. Again, all this was with my 1-1 communication with the manager - Josh. Apparently the owners are not involved at all and live in Idaho??? So trying to reach out to other management has been impossible. I'd appreciate any recommendations for a local Brazilian Juijitsu dojo - thx

But Coach Alex is simply fantastic with kids and instructing them in the most positive way. I was a little concerned about the potential injuries and chokeholds in BJj, but the coaches are so good at watching the kids closely and making sure kids stay safe. There are several assistant coaches that vary depending on be day, and all are excellent and promote learning, safety and positivity. The dojo is spacious and clean. I honestly can't say enough good things. There are classes for the whole age range of kids and adults. I never thought my girls would do BJJ and I have to say, it's been a great experience--my kids used to get nervous going, bc again, physically grappling with another kid was an alien concept to them, but now they are pretty comfortable and I can see how empowered they feel after each class. Their stamina and physical fitness are much improved--they used to complain about PE in school but now, they have no problems running the laps, doing pushups, etc. If you are a parent looking for a new activity for your kid that will help with not only their physical wellness but also really promote feeling confident and empowered, Warriors BJJ under Coach Alex is a fantastic option, great for both girls as well as boys!

The classes feel like studio classes (like barre or spin, etc.) that you'd be paying almost $200/month for without any amenities or regular gym equipment. I've been to other gyms in the past that had a lot of hm, lets just call it people watching and social hour. Folks here are definitely here to workout, do their own thing and friendly. Definitely a no judgement zone. I also had some hesitations based on other reviews about not being able to freeze or cancel membership within the first year especially if you have an injury and what not but decided to go for it anyway despite that, more on that later. Some other other gyms didn't seem to be any better based on those reviews so it probably would've been similar issues elsewhere anyway. When you initial sign up, they give you some comp sessions with a trainer (to obviously sell you personal training) but it's something I wanted to try anyway. I thought, why not, let's give it a go for a few months since I thought it would be good to get an extra boost and back into a routine. Well, a few months had passed and then I had some travel plans so I was away from the gym but then came back from my travels with a severe knee injury where I could barely walk. It sucked but I showed up anyway. Not because I couldn't cancel my membership due to the contract terms but because I needed movement for rehab. I was initially hesitant about returning to training because I felt like I wouldn't be training at 100%. And let's be real, the training sessions aren't cheap. After some discussion with physical therapist for a rehab plan, I decided to return to training with Summer and it was honestly one of the best decisions I've made. Summer programed exercises for me to supplement my PT. She has been really awesome to work with, because my program needed a lot of re-working along the way to adapt to my rehab progress. She's also open to feedback and really great with listening to my input on things that I want to work on. While I am still ways away from being 100% recovered from my knee injury, I already feel like it's night and day compared to just a few months ago. So why only 4 stars? Well, only taking one off is quite generous despite some issues with their app, specifically for training and the so-so amenities in the locker room. The app isn't the best and there were some miscommunications with it that led to a lot of frustration but the training manager Matt was really nice and made it right. The other reason for taking off the star was the amenities which they finally changed to something that smells way better. The previous products didn't smell good and it seemed like the shampoo, body wash, and face cleanser seemed like it was all the same soap in the shower. Didn't feel like there is anything different between the stuff in the bottles. It wouldn't even upset me that there was just one multipurpose wash but the same soap in the different bottles is just confusing for me. Like what's the point? Anyway, good riddance with the old stuff. I haven't tried the new stuff yet aside from the lotion that smells heavenly. I haven't been to the other locations to compare but this one is sufficient for my needs.

Parking can be annoying as there's many competing business around. The weight area is small and seems cramped for prime time. There was some small group training going on and navigating through them while being shown around was awkward, I could only imagine this place when it's after work. I was shown around the place at 2-3PM on a weekday. Aside from the small 7ish group training whatever it was going on there was no other active classes going on. Other reviews express concerns with classes being cancelled or the lack of them existing yet the site promotes their app with "lots of classes." So that would be concerning if you're a class attendee. I'm personally more into weight training and their equipment is outdated and the space is again.. very cramped. The saunas are nice, cool to have a heated rooftop pool but others have expressed issues with its heating. Locker rooms are nice. The main drawback is their membership. Desiree touted at them being the best location but the membership requirements of committing to a year are laughable. If you're the best, what would stop you from allowing members a month to month to make sure you're delivering on the promises and experience? This membership practice seems snaky to me. Get someone to sign up, they are forced into 3k~/year for an experience that doesn't justify its price tag. I emailed her back letting her know and that I'd be happy to try them out on a month to month in case I just can't work though some of my concerns and it got forwarded to management and then crickets. Similar concerns here with membership, management and classes exist on this page. Sign up at your own risk - but I'd recommend steering clear of this one. Seems like more of a vanity membership than anything else.
