Few lanes and way way way over priced. I went on Monday and bowled 3 games myself. 12 dollars plus shoes. Fair enough. I then went this morning when they opened at 11 am. I wanted again to bowl a couple of games myself. Nobody there bowling. I was told they only would allow bowling by time with a minimum of half an hour. $24.00 for a half hour! Updated review they have added the escape rooms here. These ones are reasonably priced and had good themes. Overall the facility looks a bit run down, upon entry it's tough to overlook all the trash and cigarette butts strewn through the landscaping. It was a Saturday evening and this place was packed, without reservation, there was a 2 hour wait to get a bowling lane. We had a drink at the bar then proceeded to the escape rooms. These appeared to be ran by young adults, somewhat poor directions. Upon entering the room, it was clearly well used, some sprucing up could go a long way. Would give it 0 stars if I could. I had never been to Rule 3 until tonight. The food was disgusting. Greasy chicken "tenders" Actually floating in grease on the tray. $13 for 5 chicken tenders with a small cap full of ranch. The loaded nacho had a drizzle of cheese and diced tomato. I even paid for chicken on it making it $16 and there was none. The loaded frie was the only suitable offering. Even then it had too much salt. The only way I would go back would be to take my own food. Not going to happen. This isn't even mentioning the lack of service at our table. Rude manager. Staff couldn't care less. Waited at the bar for more than 10 min before we got anything. We always had to flag them down. Friends and I were at the volleyball courts and my friends and I watched the manager just come and lock us out. We love Rule 3 and are regulars. The food is consistently good with excellent service. My son's favorite is the kid's cheese pizza. My daughter likes the quesadilla (and they customize it for her as she's not a fan of anything spicey). I highly recommend the Loaded Waffle Fries, the Chipotle Chicken Quesadilla, the Chicken Tenders, the Sunrise Burger, and the Supreme Pizza. Literally thee worst experience ever today. I had my husbands birthday party there and it was nothing but confusion from beginning to end dispute me calling multiple times over the past 2 weeks to make sure that we would be accommodated. I have even called a few hours before we got there to make sure everything was cool and i was told that because of the number of people we would be put in the VIP room. Upon arrival I was told the VIP room already had people in it but we could all still be sat together. I brought in a cake for my husbands birthday and was told by the manager that i couldn't bring in outside food. (I was never told this information in my various phone calls to ask questions.) I asked if there was a cake that I could purchase and I was told no. I don't really understand what the issue with a cake is especially when there isn't something there that can be purchased. I wanted to pay per person per game which would be $5 each plus shoes. The manager tried to tell me that I couldn't despite it being on the website and on a sign in the entry way. I pay for myself and my family (3 of us total) and go to our area. A friend attempts to pay right after us and get added to the same lane and is told they only have to pay for shoes- which was incorrect information. Another friend attempts to purchase a lane and was also told completely different information. I finally ask for the manager to get everything sorted out. The first friend actually should have been told to pay for the game and the shoes but again they paid for what they were told by Rule 3 staff. There was probably about 27 of us total and we are all ordering food, bowling, etc. Our hour of bowling had just ended and we are told by staff that we have to move from the area despite food still being delivered and is still eating. We were never asked if we were going to purchase more bowling time and at that point even if we're had planned on it the lanes had already been sold to someone else. At this point I was overly frustrated with my total experience here as this place was recommended by me and things had been going wrong from beginning to end. I asked the server who asked us to move for the GM's name and number and she told me she could get the shift manger and he could provide that information. The shift manager returns and I explain my many frustrations and he is looking at me like a deer caught in head lights. He didn't care that we were being asked to move despite not being done eating and i even explained to him that had we been told that we would immediately have to move we could have had the food brought out to a different location so that's our meals didn't have to interrupted. I asked for the GM's name and number and in return was asked for my name and number so I could be sent something for free. (Which I highly doubt will happen.) At that point I felt like no own cared how were were treated because we had already spent hundreds of dollars there between bowling, food and drinks. The manager was super unaccommodating and just kept saying oh well (you can't have cake because we want people to buy birthday packages) and when you called someone should have given you to the sales department (which didn't happen.) I even pointed out to him that he witnessed first hand the disorganization and lack of communication between staff when we were purchasing the bowling lanes and he had nothing to say- just blank stared me in the face. I wouldn't recommend this place for anything except the food. The food was great! read more

Primarily, this is most about food. I did not bowl, play games, or volleyball. My previous review is missing, but I can still remember my dining. We have been here to eat in the dining room half a dozen times. Everything tasted average, not standout. I've sent overcooked burgers back. I've complimented perfectly cooked items. I remember sides served less than warm. I remember staff being scarce and unskilled. Oh, now I recall why we returned. They were in the Entertainment Book as a BOGO entree. Since no longer getting book, explains why it's been a while. We were here recently for a party in the VIP Party room. Behind the velvet curtain. 4 bowling lanes with digital scoring. 2 flat screens and a big screen tv. 6 hightop tables. 2 low 4 tops and a long ledge to sit out a food spread. The staff in here was highly attentive and prompt with drink refills and bar orders. Nobody chastised the patrons with food and beverages past the barrier line in the bowling area. Our party had pizzas. I was not a fan. Bad crust. Sweet sauce. Frozen toppings. Fake cheese. They were running a domestic draft special during the NFL games on screen. These screens are everywhere, except the bathrooms. The bathrooms could have used some attention. I recall that from other visits. Nobody wants to clean a bathroom. If you're not extremely hungry, and just lookin to pass some time in the restaurant area it's a good idea but we waited half an hour for a server to even greet us and we were the only table in there lol the service was great once we got it, but it just took a little longer than expected!! Time to update, considering I've done two birthdays and have been back a number of other times though have not always remembered to check in. This place is awesome, pretty much the least adult unfriendly place to have a kid birthday party anywhere East of Columbus. Unlike Magic Mountain type places, no need for Lysol head to toe treatment afterwards, the place is kept clean, arcade games all usually work, and though kids visit it is not quite the same congregation of germs you would see elsewhere. The menu is not the typical pizza and hot dogs only either, nor is it fine dining, more of your bar type menu but does include salads, grilled items so it is not necessary to stick to greasy foods. There is of course a full bar. As far as kid birthdays go, highly recommend, these folks do a great job, kids love it and adults have fun too. Besides birthdays, generally a great place for families to play, and quite reasonably priced for the entertainment they provide. Have not had a bad drink, meal or service yet, not something I would say about a lot of places. This place is jammed pack with fun activities. They have bounce houses and an arcade for kids, volleyball, bocce, alcoholic drinks for adults, and to top it off bowling and mini bowling for the family. There is a lot going on in the space provided but still has plenty of room to move and play. I only got to try the drinks at the bar this time but I will definitely be back to try some of the other activities. The food looked great, especially the nachos. I haven't gone bowling in years, so I was pleasantly surprised to see how trendy and updated Rule 3 is. It reminds me of the bowling alleys in Las Vegas. There are plenty of lanes and the prices are fair. The full sized bar has great beer and liquor options. Food is pretty good. It's your typical bar food. There are plenty of TV's surrounding the alley with all the major sport games. Rule 3 also has a VIP room with four private lanes. The restrooms are clean and folks that come here tend to just be here for a good time - no fights from what I've seen. The back room has several arcade games. They are on the pricey side, but continually work well with a great variety. Rule 3 is the perfect place for a date, birthday party, company party, or any other fun activity. read more

No one, not even his mom, seemed to know why they held it here, far away from anyone's house. It was crowded, and loud, and pretty chaotic. The kids, ours and all the others, seemed to be having a great time. The adults in our party were unanimous in our desire to flee. There is a bar and a good beer selection, so it actually might not be bad if your kid is in sight and reasonably well-behaved. But the music, the noise from the lanes, and the loud and rambunctious kids meant we stayed about 15 minutes. Pity Sweetie's mom and sister, who stayed the whole time. There are bowling lanes, some with gutter guards so the kids have a chance. There appeared to be video games and other attractions in side rooms. I didn't explore much. I saw crappy looking pizza, surely overpriced, and I heard the drinks were expensive. I didn't partake of either; we got dinner elsewhere, and if we drink it will be somewhere else too. If you have a party here for your kid, don't invite me, or don't expect more than a brief appearance to say hi before retreating from this madhouse. read more

Had a great time bowling and playing games with my boyfriend and his family. We called ahead to reserve lanes but still had to wait another 30 minutes when we got there because it was a busy Saturday night. The nice thing is there's tons of games(skee-ball, basketball shooting, life size candy crush etc) to district you while you wait. My boyfriend's family was a little frustrated that you pay by the hour and it cuts you off right on time so we were in the middle of a game and had to stop. Not a deal breaker but slightly annoying. I went here for the first time yesterday with my cousin's family (3 young boys). The dining space was completely empty which was nice for us but I assume COVID has really affected business. Absolutely horrendous for actual bowlers. Lanes are usually dry as a bone and the person in charge would rather hang out with employees. I've been coming to Rule 3 for the last 6 years because my boys love bowling and 9/10 times its a horrible experience. The staff is extremely unhelpful and usually screaming at each other. Management seems to not care at all due to letting the employees smoke on the patio so its unusable to customers. Arcade employees barely seem to know what they're doing, many have an attitude and don't explain the money to points exchange. I've been going for 6 years and still couldn't explain it to you how it works. The only saving point is the bar and maybe its because they give me enough liquid courage to ignore the issues I have with the establishment. Food is extremely overpriced. (example. cheese curd appetizer is more than the subs...) Not to mention if you get a seat too close to the restaurant you'll hear rap music blasting from the kitchen and the employees yelling at each other by the soda machine. The owner doesn't seem to be running the business. The employees are. The entire facility is usually dirty and escape rooms are usually unfunctional, not to mention the employees rushing you through the rooms. Extremely disappointed in the Rule 3 I now know, as this place was a frequent visit with the kids. Went to a birthday party at Rule 3. It was held in the VIP Room which rents by the hour for around $180 on weekdays and around $250 on weekends. It includes 4 private bowling lanes and shoes for all bowlers & you can bowl as many games as you want within your allotted time. We had several different kinds of pizza available, cheese, pepperoni and sausage, although there are other choices available. I have to be honest. I really wasn't expecting much from a bowling alley/Game Center pizza. I must admit, I was wrong. Totally wrong. The sauce was plentiful and not too sweet like a lot of places who serve lots of kids. There could have been a bit more meat toppings but there was plenty of cheese and I like a lotta cheese on my pizza! The crust could've been a bit crispier but still it was pretty good. Yes I was shocked, by the taste, the quality and the price and shocked in a good way. We also ordered a chef salad and split it. It was really good too. There was plenty of meat, cheese & other salad fixings. It was really good too! Right before we were ready to leave, I stopped in the Ladies room. Uh-oh. I was so ready to give them a 5 star rating. I walked in and it smelled bad! I mean really really bad! Now I know sometimes things happen in a bathroom that make it smell bad but this was a different kind of nasty. And it was a terrible mess, with the 1st soap dispenser I tried to use, empty, paper towels all over the floor from the overflowing trash cans and just a total mess. And 2 employees came in while I was in there and didn't make a move to pick up anything. Yeah, I was really prepared to give them a 5 star but it kinda went down the drain with the bathroom experience, but I will still give them a 4 star because overall, I was surprisingly pleased about the whole place. One of the nicest bowling alleys in Columbus and they have a great food menu and an arcade so we were looking forward to an evening of fun. The lanes were deserted, no lights on, noone working or bowling, so we decided to also not take part in the "fun" The arcade has the same games as any other arcade and since the prize is never worth as much as you spend we also decided to skip that and just have dinner. They have happy hour from 4-7 pm and on mondays kids eat free so that made it off to a descent start for us, Turns out you have to order an entree for the free kids meal and also for the half off apps, so I got a crispy chicken salad which I thought overpriced at $12, the maple balsamic was horrible as was the italian, but the chicken was fine. My sons burger and fries was a tiny slider, same as the one that comes with the sliders as an app which we also got. We had the reuben egg rolls which were filled with corned beef hash and not so great, sliders ok, actually fresh ground and hand formed, black and tan onion rings, strong beer taste and with that a little funky, cheese sticks, also nothing special, mac n cheese wedges, fine but not special, fajita flatbread, probably the best of the bunch. In all we felt pretty sick after this fried overload of carbs and $35 is still steep considering we payed half price, the portions were tiny, about 4 of each item, no need to go back, but if your there bowling its certainly better than your usual bowling alley food. read more

Every time we try to give the eat & play experience of Rule 3 another chance, we are disappointed. Lack of service, over priced, average food, disgusting bathrooms. The most recent trip we came to eat and then play some games. We were sat and didn't see anyone for 10+ minutes. After that, we couldn't even figure out who our server was supposed to be. One server took our order, 3 people brought stuff out at different times and 1 person refilled our waters once. We were a table of 2 families and my family got our app and food and no one ever came back with the other family's food. One of us got up and tracked down a manager who found that their food was never even ordered by the first server. Once we all got our food, no one even checked on us for anything until finally someone else came to ask who had what for the bills. It still took 20 minutes after that for us to get a check to pay. They fixed it, but it took some time and my kids were in the red at that point. Too much waiting around + no score (the screens filched too) + no real game = impending meltdown. Not wanting the few other patrons to have to listen to it, I told the Rule 3 employee we were just going to leave, and asked for a partial refund for the 30 minutes we didn't use. I came here for a work outing and thought it was a pretty great spot for a large group. We had a buffet of veggie trays, fried (but tasty) appetizers, salad, grilled chicken breast, pizzas and a chocolate fountain with fruit for dessert. I was actually pretty impressed with their food -- it was definitely better than other "bowling" food I've had elsewhere. The space itself is open and laid out well with about 20 or so lanes against the back wall and a large bar separating the dining and bowling areas. I also noticed a pretty decent looking game room that looked appropriate for both adults and kids. The lounging area around the lanes was nice, there were comfy couches near the lane and then some high-top tables and more couches for hanging out behind them. It isn't as snazzy as Star Lanes by Polaris, but that's okay. It felt a bit more family friendly here. It's located off of a busy stop and go street, but once you're away from that, parking is a breeze in their private lot.
