We took my nieces and nephew here on a Thursday night for dinner and some fun. The place was a ghost town! We pretty much had our run of the restaurant and the arcade area. Luckily, I found some coupons on my Canal Winchester calendar right before we left for the place, so we saved about $10 too! Overall, I can say this is a huge draw for kids or bowlers. The nice thing about this bowling alley is that it is well maintained, it doesn't smell, and it is nice. I was super excited to go to Rule 3. I'd read a review in one of the alternative papers about the different fries of the world and took my son to enjoy the food/play good time. What a mistake! We should have left when NO ONE seemed interested to answer our questions about the arcade or bowling. We chalked it up as a loss and decided to try the fries. On an empty Saturday afternoon, it took about 10 MINUTES for someone to acknowledge that we were waiting to be seated. Been to this location a few times with the sister and nieces for some bowling fun. We technically live closer to other bowling lanes but chose to come to Rule 3 because it is relatively new, clean and family friendly. There is definitely something to keep kids entertained for hours between the bowling, arcade and in the summer months, outdoor activities. For the adults, they have a good bar and restaurant area filled with all the best foods (nachos, pizza, etc). If your a parent and need to get the kids out of the house for a few hours, head to Rule 3. You shouldn't be disappointed. read more

Great place to take kids because of the games and stuff. Nice big place but be prepared it is loud inside. Which you'd kind of expect... it is also a bowling alley. Service at the bar can be slow at times. The wait service is hit or miss as well. We used to go to RULE 3 every Friday night when they had karaoke. Still hit it now & then. Food is pretty good... the waffle fries are great. A lot of people go there to watch boxing and MMA fights. My daughter and a couple of friends went last evening to glow bowl. The staff was rude. Did not seem like they wanted to be there. They ordered food and drinks from the bar. Food was delivered. No drinks. Never got them. Went to the bar to ask for them. You would of thought the bartender (a female) was being put out for failing to do her job. Really rude. They had other bowlers ask them if they were done with their lane because they were told no available lanes. When the lane next to my daughter had been empty. What I love about this place is the atmosphere. There's an arcade, bowling, bar, etc. It's a great family place to hang out. The black and blue burger is so delicious! What I HATE about this place is the service. Eating at the restaurant is bad. Don't do it! I've been there for a few birthdays including nights out to eat there and the service is always EXTREMELY slow where you'll spend 2-3 hours just sitting there and be done. Also, it sucks that they don't take reservations. Most times when you go for bowling you end up being on a waiting list...a lot of the times its a 30 minute wait. Wow I was kind of blown away by this place and I had no idea it was even out there! Great fun for anyone of any age, bowling, arcade games, bounce houses for the kid in all of us, a nice bar set up for the adults. Sand volleyball is awesome with nice courts and sand that is easy on the feet (some places seem to use the most course sand they can find). Oh and quite surprisingly I would rate the pizza there as some of the bestthe city has to offer! Sooo expensive, insane. Expensive drinks, food and bowling was 44.00 an hour. Asked for a military discount since my son is active duty and he gets his shoes for free. Not great. Nothing compared to military discounts at other places in the area. Bartender tonight has birthday sash on and completely ignored me when I sat at the bar and wouldn't take my order. Obviously she thinks men tip her more. Jokes on her. I tip great for good service. I finally went and sat in booth and the waiter got my drinks. He was great. I specifically asked him if I tipped on the card would she get any of it? If so I would get him cash. Later my daughter and husband went to the bar. My husband ordered and she never once looked at my daughter. After he ordered princess took his card. My daughter and he had to say umm she wants something too. This place is a super-cool bowling alley and game room. You can also rent out private game rooms that have Wii and xbox systems. There is a large bar with 12 HDTVs and a restaurant. The food has been excellent every time I've been here. The bowling and game room staff have been fantastic but the bar staff is slow and seemed bothered that they had to wait on me. Overall a good place for adults and kids, just wish all employees would act like they want to be there. read more

The place is beautiful and their is plenty to do but it just isn't worth the time or trouble. The food is pretty bland to put it frankly I've been a couple of times trying different things trying to find something I like but it all just tastes so ordinary and plain including their "award winning pizza". The service almost always leaves much to be desired whether at a table, the bar, or on a lane, I would never describe the service as good. The bowling is outrageously expensive. I was really excited when Pickerington finally got a bowling alley. I'm glad we have Rule 3. Very glad. However, there are some things that aren't so happy about it. It's a relatively small bowling alley for the community it serves- and so it is usually pretty crowded. The last time I was here I came to play arcade games with my mom. It is worth noting that they use a card system coin system. This might be confusing your first time here. The arcade space has a decent selection of games (better than the bowling palace at any rate) but it seems like whenever I visit at least one of the games isn't functioning properly and is not marked to that end. This can be frustrating. There is an awesome giant ball claw machine that is loads of fun. There is a nice dining/bar area in front of the lanes with tvs. It's really only worth it to bowl if you are with a group, cost wise. They also have a room for "mini bowling" which is something I still want to try. The bathrooms are usually pretty decent, and the have hand sanitizer available which is a nice touch. read more

One of the worse places to go in Ohio. The employees are all rude and act like they don't want to be there, and make you feel like you are bothering them if you ask them something, this goes for all employees including management. The video games are all a complete ripoff and short you hundreds or thousands of tickets, for example the game says you win 1000 tickets, it only gives you 100, and it's not just one game it's all of them, they short you, you win 100 it gives you 25. The employees call you liar when you bring it up to them, even when you take a picture to prove it. Do not waste your money there, go someplace else. read more

This is the way the owner of Rule 3 handles their customers. I only became loud when the manager said she was going to refund us, or replace the food, and said she was going to call us back. When she called back, the owner Bob told her to tell us he couldn't refund us, couldn't replace it, and wouldn't give us any credit for next time. We spend 40$. Since you didn't have the brass as a owner to explain why, you left it to you're poor manager. You also didn't have the brains as an owner to come up with a solution to make you're customer happy. I am as good of a customer as the customer service that was given to me. I was not given a paycheck for this experience. Owners like you are the reason why businesses close. By the way, it took us an hour and a half to get a refund from Uber, they don't just hand out refunds. As you can tell from the tone of his comment, he is unattached with the reality of business. He is the only owner of a business that i have ordered from uber that hasn't taken responsibility for their mistakes, the only one that brushed us off and told us to call Uber. The Uber customer service manager said it's the responsibility of the business to get full refunds, because every customer with a complaint wants a refund. The owner once again didn't want to take responsibility of his actions. Who has pride in what they do, and leaves a public comment like this? Here is the response from the OWNER. You did call and speak to Alex, who informed you that unfortunately with Uber Eats, we are unable to refund your order as that all is processed through Uber Eats, and not through Rule (3). When you purchase your Uber Eats, you pay Uber, who then pays us, minus their fee, at the end of the month. When we attempted to explain this to you so you could receive your refund, from Uber, you proceeded to call Alex, our manager on duty a B***h, and became very loud and unruly. While we pride ourselves in our customer service, and would love to get any issue corrected that we have caused, we also will not tolerate disrespect and belligerence towards any of our staff members. We provide a safe and happy environment for residents of the community to hang out together and have a good time, and we like our employees to feel the same way when they are at work. We would still be happy to help you get this issue corrected, as we do not want to leave a poor taste in anybody's mouth about what we do here at Rule (3), but it does need to be done through the Uber Eats program and not through Rule (3). I am basing this review on the restaurant portion of the evening. Even though we had a reservation for the dining area, we were seated at the bar. The dining room was empty and overall the place was not that busy at all. We all were under the impression that the hostess did not want to seat anyone in the dining area. We sat at the high top and it seemed like it took a while to get service. The server was friendly and our order was accurate. However, we did waited longer than usual to receive our meals and refills were even longer. The taste of the food is about average - nothing special. This place is awful. Cops out front dealing with thugs when we got there. 9 lanes not being bowled on and told after waiting in line for 15 minutes that there's a wait until midnight. Oh, and by the way..if the 2 guys at the registers weren't playing grab ass with each other the whole time, they might have been able to move their line along. Where to start... unless you pay $250+ for a private room, the bowling alley has maybe a dozen lanes. It was overran with underage kids drinking and taking beer and food into the bowling area. Lanes have a 6 person limit but the teens adjacent to our lane numbered well over 10 and took over our lane space. We ordered beers and food... some of the beer came out flat and had to be switched out. The salads were sour and rancid, fries were cold, and burgers just didn't taste right. So... not a great place for bowling, food, or beer... the only thing we didn't try was the arcade. On the plus side, the waitress was SUPER nice and great and the loaded fries were actually exceptional... but as a whole experience would not recommend and wont be back. read more

Came from Hebron to play games only and 7 were out of order, women's restrooms had a terrible smell, and toilets seemed to not be flushing correctly. Only fixed the smell with spray, maybe they should mop and clean the toilets. We were told the games are serviced by an out sourced company and was offered a card to come back and no refund. Sad to say but we will go back to Dave & Busters before coming here again, first impressions mean everything y'all! read more

We are moving 900 miles away and decided to have our daughters and their friends have a fun evening together, and we decided to treat everyone to Rule(3). I went into the game area and bought all 9 girls game cards and we moseyed over to the dining area. Two of their friends had now arrived. I let the guy know we needed a table for 12. He then asked me if we were here for a birthday party... we were not; had no cake, etc... He then informed me that no presents or cake from outside were allowed unless we had booked a birthday party through them. I stood there speechless for a moment and then repeated that we needed a table for 12. We sat down and everyone else soon arrived. Between dinner, bowling and games, we spent over $300 last night. Had we not been coordinating so many people, I would have walked out before being seated and would have gone somewhere else. To be treated so rudely, and made to feel so unwelcome with a party of 12 that most other restaurants would have drooled over was simply ridiculous. And all because my daughters' friends brought some gifts with them since we're moving. My wife communicated with a manager who was wholly unapologetic about their policy. SMH. They simply don't care how they made us feel so unwelcome. We will be back in Ohio several times a year and will go out with friends and family, but we will not go back to Rule (3) where we were so unwelcome. We'll probably head over to Gahanna Lanes instead. So sad, especially since the food at Rule (3) is finally decent, and the server was really really good, and the girls really did have a good time there. read more

I went here for a work outing and was sort of surprised at what I found. It seemed a little too "off the beaten path" but was pretty nice inside. There weren't a ton of lanes (we took up all of them) which can either be good or bad. If it was closer I'd go here--as it is, it's a little too far and the road it's on seems to be pretty busy most of the time. read more

We have never had a complaint about the entertainment part of the establishment and would rate it 4 stars. Go for the entertainment, but skip the food! Our children asked us to eat there and we reluctantly agreed after our last disappointment with the food. We should have turned tail and run when, at around 6pm on a weekday night, we were the only ones in the restaurant. It took about 10 minutes for our server to get to our table because the host told us she was outside. I understand with them being so busy (sarc). The food this time was mediocre at best but the service was not good. I believe in tipping based on the quality of service, so I tipped $5, which was probably a little too generous. Today, when I checked my bank account, I discovered the amount charged to my account was $3 more than what was on my receipt! Was this a typo when they entered the check amount? Possibly, or was it a pissed off waitress changing the amount of the tip? Either way we will NEVER patronize this place again! It's not the amount of $$, it's the principle of doing good business. 3 stars only because of the service. This was our 5th time here and again the service was slow and the staff operates like never had any training. (cups and plates left in a stack for us to pass out, food is served before plates and silverware are out,etc. I worked in the restaurant industry for 10 years and I'm very sympathetic to waitstaff but they could use some training) We ordered 4 different pizzas and they were all great! We had our monthly sales meeting here this month, and all had a great time! It was my first time, and I was pleasantly surprised. I especially enjoyed the steak salad I ordered for lunch. We used to enjoy Rule 3 very much, but since the new owners have taken over it's gone waaaay down hill. They removed all the good items from the menu, (buffalo chicken nachos, meatball sliders, strawberry pecan salad, Pittsburgh salad, topped fries, kids spaghetti), their food is all pre-packaged/frozen, and their prices are outrageous. Here is a brief run down of our last 3 visits 1) Ordered pizza. It was a soggy, flimsy ball of grease with raw dough in the middle and very little toppings. I'm not sure how it's possible for the dough in the middle to be raw when it's so thin, but it was. 2) Ordered BBQ burger. When the burger arrived it was 2 slider patties on my bun. This obviously means that they use pre-made burgers, and they were out of "normal" sized ones so they just substituted slider patties. (I do have pictures of this to prove that I'm not making it up.) Our server, who is THE WORST, didn't bother to come say anything. I guess they were just going to wait ti see if I complained, and I didn't. We has already waited 40 minutes for a burger and another 10 for a side of mayo, and my kid was hungry so I wasn't going to bother with it. 3) Ordered the linguini w/meatballs. For $12 this was the smallest portion on pasta I've ever seen. (My 4-year old daughter ate all but 2 bites of it just to put it in perspective.) It was 2 frozen meatballs with pizza sauce over frozen/microwaved pasta with like a hot dog bun cut in half for garlic bread and took almost 30 minutes for the order. Saw our server once for the order and once for the bill. (It just so happened to be the same server from visit 2, still THE WORST.) I'm done giving them my money to them unless they seriously fix some things. You need a visit from Gordon Ramsey or Robert Irvine to save this place! read more

Our server yesterday was clueless, and had to go to the bar three times to ask 1) what was on tap, 2) what brewery the pumpkin ale was from (rivertown) and 3) if they had something that was on their beer menu (they did not). A group of about 13 of us ate there last night since one of our friends was in town. Service was pretty horrid, we had to keep asking about our orders as they took a very long time to come out, some of it was sent back since it was cold. Drink orders were taking a entirely too long to come out. A few had to be asked for repeatedly. The guiness was off and undrinkable, they may have been using a CO2 tap as opposed to a nitrogen tap. The automatic 18% gratuity tacked on for a large group was not worth it for the extremely poor service. read more
