I worked with Nick to have luxury vinyl plank flooring installed in my condo in Chicago in June…read more2025. Everything went alright, he was somewhat responsive, and the installation team did a decent job. The floor isn't completely level, and it's very noticeable in some areas. I also asked about baseboard options but never got a response. The baseboard they installed looks nice, but I found it odd that I wasn't allowed to be involved in choosing it, considering it's my home and my money. About four months later, I noticed that one of the planks had broken because the floor beneath it is uneven. It's right by the entryway, so it's very noticeable and would be an issue if I were to sell the condo. I wasn't angry because I understand that mistakes happen in construction, but I messaged Nick multiple times and never got a response. The messages were delivered, and that's how we primarily communicated. I also called the store three different times over four days and was basically told to contact Nick because they hadn't seen him. I told one employee that Nick wasn't responding and asked what I should do, to which he said, "I don't know what you should do." I don't think it was too much to ask to have my floor repaired after only four months, but I was treated like I was being needy and annoying. I suspect they'll respond with a story about how Nick never received my messages, which is obviously untrue. Even if that were the case, the store should have followed up with him and made sure he responded. Bad customer service, I regret using them. Once you've paid, you'll be ignored.

We original purchased carpeting for our entire house since it hadn't been replaced for 30 years. They were efficient and helpful with ordering samples that I could look at in the lighting of my home and were very patient since many times I could not make up my mind as we talked about different shades and padding. We were so pleased with the carpeting, that we ordered a new vinyl kitchen floor that was impeccably installed. Mario and Joan are sincerely kind people and we had a lot of fun working with them! Look no further. This is the place To go to for all your flooring needs! Thank u

Folks in the showroom were super…read morefriendly and helpful, gave us all the samples we wanted, and measuring and eventually placing an order was great. They were also super flexible -- we had ordered carpet right before the pandemic hit, and they were very understanding about holding onto it for us until we were comfortable enough to install. Can't stress enough how good pre-installation was. It sorta fell apart once it came installation time though. First sign of trouble was that there was some kind of miscommunication on timing -- we were told a day to install, *possibly* two. When the installer called, he said it would be two for sure, maybe three. (It ended up being about 1.5 days). To ensure air flow (since we're in a pandemic), we left all the windows open with fans everywhere. Within minutes of arriving, the installer complained about the heat and his allergies. I apologized but said we needed to stay safe, and thought that was the end of it. However, throughout the next couple of days, there were constantly snarky remarks about how hot it was, etc. He wasn't wrong -- it was definitely hot in the height of summer -- but as a customer during a raging airborne viral pandemic, I didn't want to hear it 25 times. It was unprofessional at best. I was told they would wear masks throughout the entire installation but not gloves (since they need to handle various tools). They didn't. They were maskless at least 50% of the time. I went through and identified squeaks in the floor to try to address, and each one was met with grumbling. There is a visible seam that runs through our master bedroom. They said it would eventually settle, but it hasn't months later. And then the last straw -- when they were done installing, the left in a huff and proclaimed they were done. When I went upstairs to check it out, they had left big rolls of leftover carpet just laying on top of our stuff in the bathroom. They didn't ask us if they should move it or put it elsewhere -- they just left it on top of our things. I had to lug the rolls down to our basement myself. On top of that, they didn't vacuum/clean up any of the debris. Just left it on the new carpet. I talked to someone at Scharm about all this when they called for final payment, and let them know all of this. They were understanding and sorry, and said they would talk to the installers. But beyond that, nothing. No discount for the trouble. No follow up call or email. Just radio silence. All said it was a bummer, because I think the folks at Scharm are nice folks and I'm happy to give them business. But the installation was subpar and I can't see myself using them again because of that.

I had the absolute pleasure of visiting Exposition Flooring Design Center for the first time, and I couldn't have asked for a better experience! This was my first time buying rugs for my first apartment, and I was pleasantly overwhelmed by their selection. From the moment I walked in, Liz and Dena's hospitality made me feel so welcomed--they truly care about making the process fun, easy, and stress-free. Liz gave me a tour of their showroom, showcasing their vast selection of rugs, carpets, and flooring options. I was never alone in the process--Liz helped me every step of the way and customized my three rugs to perfectly fit my space. I am beyond grateful to Liz, Dena, and the entire team at Exposition Flooring for making this such a seamless and enjoyable experience. The experience selecting the carpet was transparent and straightforward. Liz was patient and very informative. The installation was also excellent. I was shocked at how effective the carpet stretch was. And our bedroom looks fantastic. Their showroom is definitely inconveniently located, but I'd use them again in a heartbeat.
