Our rugs just got back from being cleaned and repaired and they are GORGEOUS! We have 3 large rugs and 3 small rugs that had been cleaned by an in home carpet cleaning service for years, but the job that Rug Masters did doesn't even compare. They look absolutely brand new. I had forgotten how vivid the colors were! The dog chewed a corner of a wonderful Tibetan rug which really broke my heart. Now one would never know there had been damage. Another old Tibetan rug I picked up second hand. After it came back from cleaning the dull yellow became a bright deep yellow. It doesn't even look like the same rug! On the bigger rugs there were areas where the binding had fallen apart. Now they're as good as new. I can't say enough about this company and what an outstanding job Jay and Shahriar did. On top of all that they kept in good communication, were a pleasure to do business with and were very kind and respectful. read more

We love this place. It's the real deal in terms of Persian carpet repair and cleaning. We have used them for large and small jobs and they always do a great job at a reasonable price. read more

Rugmasters does exceptionally good work and their sevice made it so easy for me. Jay picked up my smaller Kilim and a larger handmade rug, both of which had lots of stains. He returned them a few weeks later good as new. I couldn't be happier with my decision and can highly recommend them! . read more

Have had 7 rugs cleaned and 1 repaired. Excellent service!!! This is my go to place for care for my precious Kurdish kilim rugs.

I loved my Indian 9 x 12 wool flat weave living room rug but after 25 years of wear and deep staining , I began looking for a replacement rug. When I found absolutely nothing that came close to the vibrant colors of my rug , I called Rug Masters in the hopes that they could at get at least some of the stains out . When the rug was returned, the stains were all gone and it looked like a brand new rug ! The bonus, because the rug is reversible, is that they had cleaned both sides... all for a very fair price . Very convenient pick-up and return as well. read more

Rug Masters has been our go to place for rug repairs, cleaning, and purchasing of Afghan and Persian rugs. Their selection is large and thoughtfully curated, with fair pricing and complete transparency throughout the process. Iraj and Zaheer are incredibly friendly, thoughtful, honest, and highly knowledgeable, and they take the time to explain the history, quality, and care of each piece. It is always a pleasure doing business with them, and I recommend them without hesitation. read more

Great service very kind and reasonable price went out of way for service. Will return!

I have a large Oriental rug that has a cream-colored background, which shows every smudge and spot. A rug cleaner I had previously used turned the fringe brown! Rug Masters got it looking new again. read more

My rugs look and feel so good! I keep admiring them! Pickup and delivery was an added bonus. My rugs had been damaged by years of neglect, food, some oil stains and insect damage. He returned them looking so much better than I expected. I could not find a stain on the rugs when he returned them. We talked about him repairing some insect damage to the rugs but he suggested that they looked good enough that it probably wasn't worth doing. I think he is right - they look and feel great. Iraj and his crew picked up my large rugs from my old home in Los Gatos. He cleaned them and delivered them to my new home in Berkeley. For both delivery and pickup he really worked to find a time that worked for both of us. When he delivered them to my place they moved large furniture to remove the rugs and to put them back in place. A great service at a fair price! read more

I couldn't believe how easy Jay made the process, and now our rug looks like new. Gone are all the stains. He picked up the rug, cleaned it, and brought it back, all for a very reasonable price. read more

Best rug cleaning service! We bought a new living room rug three years ago, and within a year it had lost its special silvery color and looked more brown and dingy. I took it to another rug cleaning company and the results were marginal at best. Every day I look at the rug and think that maybe I just need to throw it out and start over. Thankfully I did not go that route. Instead I read reviews and found Rug Masters. They took our rug two weeks ago, worked their magic, today we rolled out the newly cleaned rug - wow! The results far exceeded my expectations! The rug looks brand new again! I will not go anywhere else! read more

The rug looks great, especially given the condition it was in, having been very well-loved by our dog. Excellent communication, punctuality, and convenience of having the rug picked up and dropped off. I would definitely use Rug Masters again! read more

Excellent work. We were very happy with the result and rug was returned on time. Very professionally done. Friendly pick up and delivery.

Jay and his team are miracle workers! My grandmothers rug was damaged by a rodent in storage and they were able to reweave where you could not even tell where the damage had been done. Fast forward 2 months later our dog chewed about 12 inches down the side. I texted it to Jay immediately and instead of texting back, he called right away to discuss. I just got the rug back and it looks absolutely perfect! I'm extremely happy. His pricong is VERY fair and he is VERY responsive as well. I called around and spoke to a few other places before finding Jay and none of them made me feel comfortable handing over our heirloom. You won't go wrong with Jay!! Hopefully I won't need him again for the same rug. read more

For many years I have trusted Rug Masters and Jay with all of our vintage Tibetan and Nepalese rugs (one quite rare) for both repairs & cleaning and the results have always exceeded expectations - especially this time when we required more repairs to one rug. Importantly, we take comfort in knowing that their cleaning methods do not involve the use of any toxic chemicals!!! I might add that my wife is also a seasoned rug weaver who is a member of a national guild & knows her rugs. Beings my wife was scheduled for knee surgery - 17 of our rugs had to be removed for her recovery and as promised our rugs were picked up and delivered right on schedule; completely restored while preserving the richness of their colors and repairs are exceptionally done. Rugs are pieces of art and obviously need to be handled & treated with respect & great care - we absolutely trust & recommend Rug Masters for preserving & caring for our vintage rugs! Thank you Rug Masters!!! read more

I have been going to Rug Masters for many years. In addition to having them clean and repair my personal rugs, I am also a small business owner, and all of my clients have been happy with the work they have done. Cleaning, including pet stains, as well as complex repairs of family heirlooms. And everything in between. Support small business in Berkeley and San Francisco. Rug Masters is the best! read more

They are world class at repairs, have extensive knowledge around the rugs, how they are made, and the proper way to care for them. I have brought 2 very expensive rugs in to get cleaned with small repairs and both rugs looked above and beyond stellar including redoing the edging at the ends and down the length of the rugs, and even redoing parts of certain thread colors that had a complicated edge pattern so you never knew it was fixed. the team is lovely, trustworthy, and expert! read more

The repair on my antique Persian rug was amazing. I can barely tell where the repair was made, clearly the work of a master artist. Worth every penny and I am so happy to have it repaired. Thank you!!!! read more

Extra effort to get rid of pet stains. It was badly soiled, but they wanted to keep the rug an extra two weeks to keep trying. It looks great! read more

Rug Masters did a fantastic job for us with two different large white area rugs. They even shaved down the scratched up fibers on one of them. It was like getting two new rugs back. Would definitely recommend and use them again. read more

I thought I had for sure ruined my very expensive silk and wool rug trying to clean a pee stain my dog had made and that I didn't see until it had dried (IYKYK). Enter Rug Masters. I looked for rug cleaners with the most and highest rated reviews on Yelp and found them. I texted them, they responded almost immediately. I sent them pics and they told me they were pretty sure they cld get rid of most of the damage I had done. They were also very competitively priced (I got 2 other quotes). The rug was picked up that weekend, and 3 weeks later they texted me to schedule the return. The pictures show the absolute miracle they worked. You can see in the "after" photo only a very faint spot and honestly, in person with the naked eye, I can't see it at all. When I say I was sure I had ruined my rug, I mean it. Rug Masters is a miracle worker. They are super nice and very responsive. 15/10 - highly recommend!!!! read more

Recently had three rugs cleaned and am amazed at how nice they feel, soft...didnt expect. Look so nice and clean and they are very knowlegeable about oriental carpets in general. Reliable and on time and careful with furniture and which way carpets face in a room to get the most even wear. Highly recommend. Ive used other cleaners that chewed up the edges, so find someone to trust. These are your guys!!!! read more

I recently acquired this huge, beautiful rug but it needed some repair and cleaning. So glad I came here because these gentlemen were knowledgeable and kind. They not only repaired my 100+ years old rug beautifully so it would last at least another hundred year, Iraj and Sean were so patient when I asked them questions about its history, answered my questions of how to spot a good rug, and even wrote me an appraisal. In addition, they showed me how to make my existing too small rug pad work by just buying some additional pads to supplement rather than buying a whole new rug, pad, saving me some money. Although cleaning and repair is not cheap, I think their price is reasonable for the quality craftsmanship and artistry in properly cleaning and repair of Persian rugs or any rug for that matter. Would gladly send my rugs here for cleaning and upkeep in the future. And also will be visiting soon to buy some rugs from them. They have a large selection of beautiful vintage rugs too! read more

We have had Jai of Rugmasters clean and /or repair our Persian rugs for a dozen years. I reached out to Rug masters to hand wash my Tunisia rug, after reaching out to a couple of other carpet cleaners I felt I needed someone that was a specialist in hand woven and naturally dyed fibers. I am so happy I ended up choosing them after spilling some especially dark green tea. I got back a completely new carpet, super clean and back to its old glory. I will definitely go back for any carpet needs. read more

I brought in two rugs that were at least 50 years old from my family cabin. They hadn't been cleaned in at least the last 30 years and one had recently been peed on by a bear. Rug Masters didn't even blink - they quoted me a very reasonable rate for both cleaning and repair (50 years of wear will leave anything worse off) and completed the work on schedule. I don't remember the last time these rugs were in this good shape (or this clean). Very satisfied. read more

Great work and very knowledgable about our old Persian rug. The pick up and drop off were all smooth. Highly recommend!

The owner was up front with me from the very beginning and told me what he could do and couldn't do. There were a few small old stains on a beautiful little rug that grandma brought back from an overseas trip 35 years ago. He was straightforward and said he can definitely lighten the stains but those particular stains would never totally come out. Thank you for being honest and not giving me false hope! He cared about customer satisfaction and told me about the coupon specials on his website and applied them to my order so I could get the very best price. The price was very reasonable for the 3 rugs that were cleaned! Two of the three rugs he cleaned came back more beautiful than ever! The colors were much brighter and deeper and the rugs looked new again. I'm a little disappointed with the third rug, with one edge of the rug (the side that had the most foot traffic) not as sparkly clean as the rest of the rug, but passable. I'll give them some slack because it is a white rug which is so hard to keep clean. They still deserve 5 stars because they were very professional, easy to work with, do excellent work and were truthful. Everything was done within the timeframe they said and I like the fact that they were straightforward, honest, and seemed to really care about their customers being satisfied with the results. They returned calls promptly and texted me when the rugs were ready. And two of my rugs came back more beautiful and vibrant than ever! read more

A few months ago I ran into a situation where I needed a damaged rug repaired quickly. I called Rug Masters in the morning and spoke to a very nice gentleman who had me text him a picture of the damage. After viewing the picture he called me right back and assured me he could repair it in 30 minutes for a reasonable price. I brought the rug in and he did exactly what he promised - repaired it and it looked like new. You couldn't even tell it had been damaged! I was very impressed! And they completed the job in about 30 minutes and for exactly the price I was quoted. The guys at the shop were so kind and friendly, I could tell they are genuine craftsmen who respect the art and believe in doing a job well, no matter how small! I was very satisfied with how the repair turned out and extremely grateful to them for being able to do it the same day. It is very rare to find a business like this that can provide extremely high-quality, same-day service with a friendly smile. I will not hesitate to visit this location again. I HIGHLY recommend them! read more

Highly recommend. Cleaned multiple of my rugs and did a wonderful job. No more stains. Picks up rugs and delivers them back home. One rug shrank slightly, but I expected that due to the natural fibers. I've had them come back 3 more times. read more

I have two 10x13 large silk rugs in my family room and dining room. I didn't realize that my dog had stomach issues and went into the two rooms to relieve herself. Since we never go to those rooms, we didn't know about it for several days. Trust me when I tell you that it was a very ugly scene. These two very light silk rugs were pricey and I thought my dog had permanently ruined them. Luckily I found Rug Masters on Yelp and sent them the photos. They gave me a quote and offered me a small fee for pick up and drop off. Long story short, they were able to make my two rugs new again. I highly recommend this business if you have nice rugs and want experts to clean them. Great customer service too! read more
