It is a beautiful design and quality and really brings the room together. We reached back out for Access Rug's cleaning services after we purchased a vintage Heriz rug from Facebook Marketplace and realized it smelled like wet dog after getting it home. They explained the whole rug cleaning process to us and how he would ensure the 40 year old rug was preserved through the process. He came and picked it up and was very communicative throughout the process. The rug took a few extra days to dry than expected, and Ata was so apologetic and even offered to bring us a loaner rug because we had family coming into town!! Totally above and beyond! I am so appreciative that Access Rugs came to my house to pick up my rugs and then return them when they were clean. In the past, I had to drop off my rugs. They also helped to move furniture for pick up and return. The rugs were well cleaned, and the fringe on some of the rugs was not damaged. I can't same the same for a past company that cleaned my rugs and the fringe came back looking damaged. I felt like a valued customer, and I hope I will always feel that way. Access Rugs on Solano Avenue in Berkeley is a medium size rug store selling beautiful, well-priced Persian rugs and is owned and operated by the very friendly and helpful owner, Ataullah Khoja. "Attau" for short helped me and my wife recently: he allowed for us to take home two rugs to try out before making a purchase decision. This made all the difference. Rugs are really art for the floor and you need to see the rugs in their future environment before making the right decision. Pictures of rugs do not help very much and for some reason do not translate into a good depiction of their true beauty. With Attau's help we made our purchase: he also gave us a good discount from the listed price, and so he is willing to negotiate with his customers to make a good and fair deal. An approachable store with a beautiful collection of mostly new, hand knotted, clean rugs in the traditional methods and in all sizes, colors and price ranges. A great find! read more

Ata and "family" at Access Rugs on Solano is a true find. I parked across the street to take the first of three lamps and shades to Sue Johnson and wandered into Access. What serendipity! After looking at numerous oriental rugs, most dating back to the period between 1870 and 1895, I selected two from Iran. Ata, born in Afghanistan, moved to Pakistan then Germany and Canada before settling permanently in the Bay Area. Lucky us. His selection is phenomenal and his business insists on 5-star service. He delivered several rugs to my home on two occasions and allowed me to keep 2-3 at a time for many days, such a nice guy. After moving lots of furniture around twice, I couldn't be happier with my two antique rugs and 4 custom cut pads. He also sent a smaller one to Turkey for repair and we expect it back in 6-7 months. If you are looking for high-quality antique oriental rugs at a fair price and a no-pressure "take your time" process, you can't do better than Ata and Access. Superb! read more
