When I first walked in I realized I was wearing a patriotic t-shirt I had bought at a Walmart in Arizona so naturally I wouldn't have the receipt with me. I stopped the first young man with a Walmart shirt on that I encountered and asked him if he would vouch for me that I walked in wearing it and didn't put it on on the store and try to walk out with it. He said, "I don't really care one way or the other." Then he told me they were plenty of cameras so I figured I'd have a record of the fact that I walked in wearing it and stopped worrying but it wasn't a very polite answer. The girl at the cash register just kept staring at me while I was paying. She did say thank you when I was done but was almost glaring at me. You think after they read all the reviews about unpleasant encounters with employees they would try to do a better job of training them to be cheerful. Who wants to go back to the store or you aren't treated like a valued customer? I think this is billed as a super Walmart but I've been in many super Walmarts and I wouldn't think this qualified, too small, not enough variety of merchandise to qualify as a super Walmart.

It is impossible to keep up with items as they are scanned, because customer is too busy unloading the cart. I returned to my car and realized i had been overcharged for at least two items. When i came back in, the (manager?) named Rachel, sighed in an exasperated way, and literally starged her sentence with, "Like i explained to the man in front of you..." Well, i tend not to eavesdrop on conversations of other shoppers. So. Rachel explained, "We have a new system we haven't figured out yet," saying the difference coukd not be refunded. I offered to go to my car, to return the item. She saud that was not possible either. She never once said she was sorry. I will never go to either Dollar General Store in Altus again. What I take from this is, if the price on the dhelf is lower than that in the system, well, that is just too bad. You have topay any way and don't have the option for a refund. Thankfully, my purchase was not a costly item. I feel bad for people who have more limited incomes. If I could, i would give this store zero stars or an F. Employees were very helpful and friendly. The dressing room attendent was professional & courteous (normally most dressing rooms are staffed with either a half-conscious zombie or a Nazi). Excellent shopping experience. If you are passing through Wichita Falls, it is only a few miles off the highway and a great way to take a break.

The self checkout is great though, because there is enough space and systems to get people completed quickly. It's pretty hit or miss how the staff will be. They treat you like a criminal at the door leaving: they check your receipt. Depending on how you look, they go above and beyond and will even go through your bags versus just checking the large items. If you can't use self checkout, make sure you don't take the checker's word on your amount of bags. Twice now, I was told I didn't have another bag and found several items were left at the store (and calling doesn't do any good to recover the paid-for items). They seem to always be stocking. Even before the COVID crap. Sometimes it is quite a pain to get down the aisles. Generally though, the stockers are super friendly and will help you navigate around them. This location is what it is. I don't expect much from Walmart anyway, but this location has the bar set even lower.
