We purchased a tritoon the week before 4th of July week at the Dagsboro location. The entire process was easy and efficient! Tom, Mike, Thomas and Megan were very attentive and helpful. Tom pressed his team to get my boat delivered before June 29th since I had family coming in for the July 4th week and was able to deliver on June 28th which made us very happy! Just picked up our Brand new Blackfin 212CC purchased September 2019, 3 months to add additional Multi function display, radar and auto pilot, sea trial middle of February due to back order, yep middle of winter rush no boating season and back ordered??? Delivery, called in advance told one week, well one week later and no weatherization, no shrink wrap, no spring maintenance, both batteries dead, no wax, no existing blemishes addressed, wrong anchor, helm seat issue not addressed. Guess the beginning of Spring non boat season rush? Did get one excuse after another, did get no communication for six weeks until threatened to take legal action, did get more excuses, did get their offer bring boat back later to get things addressed, did get bring boat back to get shrink wrapped, did get a new awareness about trying to buy from a local person, did get to see extremely poor customer service, did get educated on, never dealing with Rudy Marine aka Tom Rudy again, ever. I would not recommend dealing with this fraud. His so called signature service is complete bullshit. What a rip off. Last year they put my boat in and didn't tie it up properly and for two day it slammed against the finger pier causing major fiberglass damage. Yes he did admit the wrong doing and fixed it he and used off brand material that had pitted and rusted over the last year and had it fixed at my own expense. Tom Rudy is rude, arrogant and misleading, not to mention a liar and major manipulator. Steer clear. I could go on and on about how awful he is. Sold the boat with the wrong prop, just awful. I've never liked this place dating back to their original place on Maryland Ave. Fast forward to 2019 and their place I passed in lower Delaware right on the highway. I needed lower unit lube and it was on my way home from work so I stopped in since they are a Yamaha dealer. I told them the model of my motor and bought 2 bottles of Yamaha gear oil for it. As I'm changing my lube I notice the oil I'm pulling out is a different color then what I was sold. I turn the bottle around and read the label and it literally says it for all models of Yamaha outboards but mine. Basically it for everything but the bigger offshore motors. What it the point of going to a Yamaha dealer and telling them your motor model only to be sold the wrong stuff anyway. Rudy's once again living up to my previous experiences. read more

I have really been beyond being patient. We went to buy a boat end of June, had trouble with the deal. Was told that boat had issues and Tom couldn't sell it. Feeling confident he was looking out for us, we decided on another boat twice the price. I was promised he knew this boat, it had no issues, he had been servicing it from when it was new. We have had nothing but issues, it has been back in the shop three times, on the way currently for the forth. This last time he promised it was fine, they figured the issue out. He told me he was fixing it at no charge in good faith! Good faith is selling a boat that I died were hidden by their person taking us out for testing, and talked me out of getting an private inspection because he knew this boat so well (yes, I am at fault here, and have more than learned my lesson), I have to much faith in people to do the right thing. Mind you we have had it out on the water a total of 6 times, 4 of which is was not working properly or would not even start. Other than this particular page, the ratings for this dealer are awful and I should have listened. Rudy Marine does boats very well they all know the product and are able to get you answers to questions very quickly. I have my second new boat with Rudy. It is a 24' NauticStar with an Outboard 200 Yamaha. The whole package is very nice and it was delivered with everything needed to Cruise, Fish, Sit and Relax and just have fun. I took delivery with no hitch on the first of June. I want to especially thank tome Rudy for all his help when I need service he knows it and let's me know, sure it cost but doesn't everything. Yes, this is very long, but hopefully will make you aware of Rudy Marina. We became interested in a pontoon at the Baltimore Boat Show in January of 2017. This was a used pontoon and we were only able to view a picture. At that time, we met the owner Tom Rudy. He was very abrupt and not welcoming, so we left his area. Before leaving we stopped back to look at the picture again, and this time we were able to speak to another salesman named Joe. He was very nice and we felt much more comfortable with him than the owner Tom Rudy. We did make an offer and placed a deposit on the boat. During this time, we also met with the Captain of the business named Mike. He was absolutely fantastic and a true gentlemen. We were now feeling much more comfortable buying the boat despite the rudeness of Tom Rudy. Fast forward to our sea trial on April 13, 2017. We were contacted by the owner Tom Rudy at 8:30 in the morning when we were scheduled for the sea trial at 9:00. He said we could not go on the sea trial, because there was a problem with the throttle cable. Keep in mind we have traveled from Baltimore for this sea trial and was only able to be there 2 days. He did not seem the least bit bothered of the inconvenience and shared we would not be able to take the sea trial while we would be in town. He continued be stating that he did not have to fix it, but felt it should be fixed. The truth is it had to be fixed because the boat would not exit the slip when it was attempted before we arrived. So this was lie number four from Tom Rudy. He kept saying he was not making any money on the sale of this boat. In addition, said we were the people who "worked him over" for the price at the boat show. To me, this is not the way any customer should be treated especially a customer who traveled to see the boat, and has placed a deposit on it in January. He was supposed to contact us later in the day for a possible sea trial and of course he did not. We followed up and were able to finally get out and went on the sea trial with Capt. Mike. A super man and the only reason we were actually going to follow through with the purchase of the boat. It was a great ride and we planned to settle on the boat the next day after looking at the pontoons out of the water, and a few things that were going to be repaired for our appt the following day. We were shocked on the following day that non of the repairs promised were completed. Tom was his arrogant self that day, and said nothing would be repaired until we paid for the boat, which was not what was stated the previous day by him, and heard by other employees. He refused to work with us that morning and would not speak to one of the buyers about the prep or lack there of on the pontoons. I have never met any owner of a business like Tom Rudy. I am shocked he is able to stay in business with his attitude, disrespect, dishonesty, and arrogance. He should change the name his marina to Rude Marina, because this better explains his demeanor. We were warned by several other marinas and boating individuals about his personality, but really wanted to buy this boat. After refusing to deal with us this day, as well as refusing to complete the work promised, our money was returned and we are happy we did not give him our money. I will give kudos in addition to Joe, Capt. Mike, but also Vonda. She was very helpful and very sweet to deal with throughout our dealings with the owner. I bought a Misty Harbor pontoon boat from Rudy Marine and I love the boat.

The owner Tom is the absolute worst person to deal with. He tried to sell me a fuel tank in addition to the Yamaha engine I bought, which come included from Yamaha in the same crate with the engine. When I asked him about this he refused to speak with me again. So I called Yamaha and they 100% confirmed that a gas tank and fuel line came standard with the engine and that he absolutely should not be charging for it. So Needless to say I did not purchase my engine at Rudy Marine and I suggest that no one else does either. I was warned by several local boaters not to deal with him. I should have listened. On May 11, I called Rudy Marine and talked to Joe, a salesman. We agreed on a price of $5655 for a new 40 hp Yamaha outboard. The price included a trade-in value of $500 for the original outboard on the boat. That value was offered by the saleman as part of the agreement and did not include any contingency such as condition, etc. I was assured that was the total price. I approved the purchase agreement and also approved a $600 downpayment by credit card. I was told to drop off the boat on Thu May 17. When I arrived, the service manager told me that the "rigger" would look over the boat. The "rigger" was Tom Rudy, the owner, who stood by the boat shaking his head side to side. I asked what the problem was. He stated that he could not give me $500 trade-in for the engine because it had a number of issues. When I stated that the trade-in value was offered by the salesman as part of the agreement, he said no, he would not honor it. He then said "talk to me" meaning negotiate a new price. I said no, that I wanted my deposit back and would not deal with him. I received the deposit and went to another dealer. Rudy Marine does not honor their agreements. Buyer beware!! read more
