Safety and compassion were completely absent. Do not risk your well being or your money with this business. Their reputation looks good on sunny days, but when conditions turned dangerous, they abandoned responsibility. Never again.

We decided to take a boat…read moreout to explore OC for the first time on Saturday and we're so glad we went with Bayside Boat Rentals! Check in was super easy and they gave our driver a 10 minute tutorial on how to operate the boat. Even though our driver has a boating license, they will issue you a temporary license and give you all you need to know to be safe out on the water! I was especially impressed because due to an incident with another group, we started our rental 15 minutes late, and they let us keep the boat for 15 min past our reservation to make up for time lost! For a 6 hour rental (1:30-7:30 PM), the cost was about $507. So split between 7 people, it only cost about $72. So worth it for 6 hours of free exploration time! They told us about a popular sand bar on the map that we checked out first and it was boat city! So many people out enjoying the redneck yacht club--so fun! After, we docked at Fish Tales for lunch. Then we had about 2 hours left, so we went swimming bayside (before getting stung by jellyfish...) and then rounded out the day docking at Seacrets. The pontoons comfortably fit 7 people, and would easily fit 1-3 more! We also had a giant Yeti cooler that fit with plenty of room to spare on the floor. They also come with pretty loud built-in speakers that connect to the radio and Bluetooth so you can DJ from a phone! You can also drop the back ladder for easy access if you decide to go swimming. The tour guide was no where to be found and when he finally came to help us after 10 minutes of the accident he was on the phone the entire time I needed help. When we got back to the doc the owner of the company came up to me and the group i was in screaming at us that it was our fault didn't ask if i was ok or if i was in any critical condition. I was crying and he was still screaming in our face saying we need to pay 10,000 dollars for his jet ski.

My wife and young daughter went on the banana boat experience since my daughter isn't old enough for jet skiing. They had a blast getting a ton of ocean spray in their face while being towed behind a motor boat (make sure to wear goggles). My son and I shared a jet ski and I was really impressed. They are certainly powerful (we got up to 60 km/hour), but have some impressive built-in safety features. There is an auto-break that applies whenever you approach the jet skiing boundaries or get too close to another jet ski or other boat. As a novice, I really appreciated that feature. The staff was uniformly friendly. The location is nice, located next to a public beach that we relaxed in afterwards, as well as a couple of bars (note you can't drink before jet skiing). There isn't a ton of parking, so factor that in as needed.

Not once did him or his staff make us feel pressured or pushed into anything we didn't want. When I felt it was time, January 8th 2020 they made the process streamlined and easy. I'm bad with names but the woman at the front desk was exceptional with us, Andrew who prepped the boat and walked us through thoroughly on every detail from maintenance to everyday use. They made sure we had everything to drop the boat in that day and it was tempting with the weather almost being 70* in January. I would 100% recommend anyone to them for business, I intend to use them for all my jet boating needs and any future purchases. This delay meant we were still out on the water around 8pm and asked to return early since boats aren't allowed out after dark. The staff was friendly and did their best to make it right, but overall, the experience felt disorganized--they didn't seem to know how long we had rented the boat for. I appreciated that they tried to compensate, but better communication and organization would have helped. This may have been due to the holiday, but it's something to keep in mind.

Tobias, in particular, treated our family with blatant discrimination and disrespect. What's worse -- Tobias came up to me without permission, put his hands on me, and snatched the key from my chest. Completely unprofessional, invasive, and unacceptable behavior. No one has the right to put their hands on a customer without consent. When we brought this serious issue to the manager, Derek, he refused to listen. He didn't ask for details, didn't show any concern -- instead, he dismissed us immediately and made it clear he wasn't interested in holding anyone accountable. Meanwhile, other families were treated with full leniency and respect -- we were the only ones singled out and harassed. Sarah, Derek, Tobias, and Alec showed a complete lack of professionalism and basic human decency. This wasn't just bad service -- it was racism and physical disrespect. Disgusting behavior. Do not waste your time, money, or dignity at Paradise Watersports. No customer should be subjected to this kind of treatment. Companies like this do not deserve to stay in business.
