This year, after the sun had taken its toll on the 13 year old seams of the boat's upholstery, it desperately needed maintenance. I visited J.R. at Bayside Jet Drive Canvas & Upholstery in their new shop in Showell, MD to see what could be done for my upholstery. They considered my photos and a sample seat cushion, and suggested that I bring my boat into their shop so that they could make a more complete estimate. I told them that I had no trailer and that the boat was due to shortly be picked up by a local marina for winter storage. J.R. not only offered to bring the boat to their shop on their trailer for an estimate, but then to deliver it to my marina for storage when they were finished. They gave me a reasonable estimate to reupholster the damaged seats. Then they scheduled and completed the upholstery in a few weeks. It looks great. They also coordinated with the marina and delivered the boat for its winter maintenance and storage. I am impressed. The upholstery material they used is premium quality, sun resistant, and little of the new stitching is where it will not be exposed to direct sunshine. Everyone at Bayside Jet Drive is downright AMAZING! Pre sales and after sales support can't be beat. Eric and his team including Sherri, DJ and John and all the other amazing staff members take the time to answer questions, offer training and guidance and offer the best technical jet boat advice. I've bought two Yamaha Jet boats from them in recent years (19ft and 25ft) and both purchases went without any problems even during the trying COVID times when boats were very hard to come by. Their no pressure sales, honest selling, complete transparency and fair prices will have me coming back. Service and parts departments are both excellent and for me, a newbie at jet boats, with tons of questions (mostly stupid but a few tough ones), they have ALWAYS taken the time and patience to give me expert advice and guidance. There was even a time, the weekend soon after I took delivery of my 2021 252SD in the cold winter months during the NFL playoffs Eric took the time to remotely help me on a SUNDAY when I was struggling to get the shipping cover on my new boat and could not get it to properly fit. Eric took the time, away from watching his team in the playoffs to answer my emails and guide me remotely as best he could. He even had his staff follow up with me the next day to make sure the cover was on and the boat protected from the winter weather. This experience spoke volumes to me. I felt horrible bothering Eric and his staff on a Sunday (their day off and family time) but I was in a jam and Eric and his staff took the time to respond in detail. That is how much he and his staff care about their clients. Minor problems will happen with boats but Eric and his entire team step up, stand behind their products, advocate with Yamaha on behalf of their clients, and help diagnose and fix the problem in a very timely manner. I'm actually a few hours from their dealership location so while I've bought my two boats from them I haven't yet used them for service. I've done some minor service on my own and when I've had questions they have gladly helped me at all times. One last thing.... As a newbie with a family of five we bought a 19ft first to get our feet wet and see if our family loved boating. Several months in and we decided yes we loved boating and that we actually wanted to upgrade from a 19ft to a 25ft. We called Eric and discussed our options. He was honest and told us don't trade the 19 ft boat in, he advised us to sell it privately and given COVID we were very fortunate to recoup what we paid for the 19ft boat. Again Eric who could have taken the boat on trade in and made some profit on it, instead gave us honest advice once again putting the client first. We followed Eric's advice and sold our boat in a few days privately and bought our new 25ft from Bayside Jet Drive. I called Ed at Bayside at your Ocean View location, after the dealer I purchased our SeaDoo from clearly said that they do not make house calls, and that I would need to bring it back to them....but, that was impossible.....well, luckily I found and called Bayside Jet Ski repairs... and within an hour, Ed came to my house, quickly diagnosed the problem,ordered parts, and soon revived my dead Ski. My neighbor had his jetski serviced by Bayside several years ago and was so pleased that this year he went back a bought a new jetski from them. They have since moved into a location down the street from me in Ocean View. When I had problems with the hydraulic trim on my Yamaha motor, I trailed the boat down to them and they fit me in even though they were very busy being that it was the start of boating season when they are prepping everybody's boat to go into the water (I think they took a previous negative review to heart and have responded with really excellent customer service even for those who didn't buy originally from them which include me). I would agree with previous reviews that Eric (the owner) is probably the best mechanic around. He not only figured out the problem which was very elusive but knew how it happened (short cut repair down by previous shoddy mechanic). The short of it is they worked overtime to get things down and now that's where I'm going for service every time. read more

I bought my jetski STX-15F in 2009 from Bayside and have been very happy with all of my experiences with them ever since. I feel like part of the family with this family owned business. For instance, they have thoroughly explained the differences in maintenance involved using my fun toy in salt and fresh water. Also, when they do the winter storage, they let me know what to do and look out for while storing it. In my opinion, Bayside treats your Jetski as if it was their own. Mine still runs great, thanks to them. It also helps the I don't push it that hard anymore either. They are a fair and respectful company that I shall continue to do business with. The wife and I decided back in June 2019 we wanted to transition from jet skis to a boat with our family of 4. They came highly recommended by a lot of people, but my experience was less than ideal. They didn't get around to looking at my boat for a couple weeks even though they said they'd get to it in a couple days. Then they took weeks to make the repairs after telling me they'd have it done in a week. The boat was in their shop for almost half the season, which was a real disappointment. I also had to call them every week to get an update. I was given a number of excuses and a couple times was told the parts were in or the repairs were done. That turned out not to be the case. The last call I had with them they said they would water test it, but when I picked it up they told me they were really busy and couldn't get around to it. I wish they had because the first time I put it in the water I stalled out half a dozen times and ultimately had to get a tow. Needless to say I did not take it back to them. The main mechanic who is also the owner seems to know what he's doing. He's supposedly the areas best when it comes to jet drives. He was always very nice but I feel like I was a very low priority and given the run around on a number of occasions. From what I've learned unless you buy your boat from them (a new one) or spend a lot of money in other ways you're not a VIP and you're not a priority at all. I certainly felt that way. Too bad for them because I've since spent thousands more for repairs, things they missed completely and would have found with a water test, and later bought a new boat elsewhere. They may be highly knowledgeable but they didn't treat me very well or fix my boat. I won't be going back there again. read more

I did not purchase my Waverunner at Bayside as they did not have the Yamaha dealership when I purchased it. I however have been using them for service, winterizing, shrink wrap, storage and spring start-up for the last 7 or 8 years. Eric and his staff have always been great. A few weeks ago, i had a problem with my starter. I called and Eric knew exactly what the problem was. I thought that I would have to leave it there for a few days, and possibly miss a weekend on the water, but Eric told me to bring it around noon the next day. He then said to just drop it off and grab some lunch and it would be done when I got back. After arrival, I decided to just wait for it. I did not feel like unhooking the unit and hooking it back up for a minor repair. I brought my book and was prepared for an hour plus of read time.
