This place was great! Living until so I really have had no reason to hear of it because it's about 45 minutes away from me. My husband and I stopped there on the way to Oklahoma City for lunch a while back. It was very good! I definitely will stop there again the way there or back. Ok. We went here for our Mothers Day outing. I am not the biggest chicken and waffle fan. I like them both, but not necessarily together. Ruby's changed that today! I tried my mom's chicken and waffle. ! The chicken is AWESOME! I had the Benedict which was really good. I had a side of the Mac and Cheese. The noodles were cooked perfectly! Not over cooked and not undercooked. The cheese is creamy. The mimosa was basic, but good. As a recommendation they should come up with a "house" memosa. I tried the iced tea...was good too! Looks a little random and lonely when you drive by. We walked up and initially thought it was closed. However this place is probably top the restaurants in Lincoln County on Route 66. The inside is a little random as far as theme but it's clean and the bartender/hostess was both very pleasant and attractive. We ordered the poppin grilled cheese with sweet potato fries and children's Mac n Cheese and grilled cheese. Food arrived maybe 5-10 minutes after we ordered. While traveling through Stroud today,decided to check out Ruby's for lunch! Nice little restaurant on a corner lot. Minimal outdoor seating. Staff was small town friendly as we were welcomed in. Seating arrangement is very awkward and limited. Tables were clean. Ordered a bacon avocado grilled cheese. It came out with regular potato chips and a few pickle slices. The sour dough bread was toasted nicely but the proportions on the sandwich were off horribly ! I would like to see more cheese on my grilled cheese! The cheese was like shredded cheese out of the bag and not much at that. It would of been nice to have a better quality cheese and more of it when paying 10+ dollars. Bacon was crispy and the avocado was fresh but very minimal with serving size. Along with flat onion ring. Ive been here a handful of times, and the service is always friendly. The food is decent but a bit steep in price wise. You'd think for 19 you'd get a good-sized burger and a decent portion of fries. But this time around there was more bread than patty, and this small pile of over salted fries. By the time I'd gotten to my destination they were closed-end so I couldn't go back. Needed a meeting place between OKC and Tulsa. Was extremely pleased with Ruby's! Staff was all wonderful and helpful. When it comes to the food and atmosphere, it was STELLAR! This place is so far above what I typically expect in a small town. This place feels like one of the restaurants you find in places like Dowtown Tulsa or Midtown OKC. The outside was not the nicest but I went ahead and when inside on the inside it looked good in the beginning then we got to the table and we got are drinks and we needed a refill and they were not there for that then we had to get the sweet tea are self and we ordered the food and it took like 1 hours and 45 minutes and my brother went to the bathroom and he got out and said I saw a cockroach and I didn't believe that so when we got are food and it was cold and I was scared about the cockroach so he went to the bathroom again and he grabbed it and showed as and we stopped eating and the syrup tasted like alcohol and my dad got out and started throwing up and my grandpa tip them like 20$ and they left right away to go get groceries and then we left .but the good thing about it is that it had a pool table on the second floor read more

This week is Cajun week. Tonight was gumbo night and it did not disappoint. We've never been to Rubys and we live in Chandler but we saw the post on Facebook and decided to give it a try. They're mixed drinks are a little expensive for a small town but on point for what you see in the city. The gumbo was delicious although I did add some spice. Kids macaroni is on point and very cheesy. Sweet potato fries were delicious. Will likely return for jambalaya night tomorrow :-) read more

Our server was very nice and did a good job. However, the food was, to be nice, not very good. The gravy on the schnitzel was awful. The food under it was good but could not get to it for the gravy. My daughter's salad was not eaten. The lighting is dim and that may be for a reason. We were the only ones there so perhaps they did not want to make a fresh batch and we ate left overs. read more

My wife and I just happen to be meeting a friend in Stroud and decided to find a place after for lunch. We came to Rubys and were a few minutes before 11 am when they open. To our surprise we were greeted by the door opening early and being welcomed right in. The atmosphere and decor of the restaurant was awesome and the food was great! I meet my daughter in Stroud because it's half way between Okc where she lives and Tulsa where I live. Decided to eat while in town and there's not a lot to choose from so I decided that we'd try Ruby's. It is laid out somewhat awkwardly so we didn't really know where to go inside. The lady working the bar greeted us and was VERY friendly and helpful, even told us we could bring my daughter's dog in if we'd like. We ordered and decided to sit outside with the dog as it was a nice day. Food took a little bit but there was a local man sitting outside as well who chatted with us so it helped pass time. I am giving this place 2 stars.. 1 star for the cook and 1 star for the semi decent food in this not okay managed/owned business. I stopped in after working near stroud and reading Yelps other reviews. I'm assuming The owner was bartending, she was nice to me, weird I had to stand at the bar, look at a menu full of overpriced Mac and cheese, and grilled cheeses, order, pay then go sit down.. I get the concept but for those prices what if I want more to drink? Do locals only have that option, or if I'm drinking alcohol or beer? The place could be nice with a remodel, the back seating area is so white it hurts your head. Couple stroud history pictures up in cheap frames. ONE person in the whole hour I was there.. ONE and that person clearly knew the place if the Owner of the place kept Shit talking her employees.. mainly about whoever was in back to this person. I heard some cussing, a lot of bitching and she just seemed really unhappy with her staff... well I wonder why when all you do is talk crap about them, and customers to customers. Just very unprofessional and was alittle uncomfortable with how quiet it was and how I could hear everything. I don't blame her employees nor customers that don't come in during the days she is there. I don't usually leave reviews let alone had a single written Yelp review but this was definitely something I wanted to let people know and hope her employees and friends read this.
