Came here Sunday afternoon, wanting a nostalgic moment! We got seated pretty quickly maybe a 5 minute wait. They have the decorations set up really cute and just how I remember going when I was a kid. The food was pretty good and the portions were generous and the prices weren't bad and if you sign up with their app you get $5 off your meal & they offer free stuff for birthdays and earning points. the food i would give a 3.5. maybe a 3. im being generous i think my experience wasn't bad or anything but this is a chain operation that used to be a much bigger operation in california statewide.... many of them closed so it's def a nostalgic relic of the past.. you pretty much just eat here for the diner vibes! i got the classic burger and it was pretty mid. the patty did not taste fresh and it was well-done. nobody asked if i wanted medium but i also don't think it would have tasted much better even if it hadn't been overcooked. the ambiance and the decor are cute! it's like eating at a place inside disneyland. the fries were good - but nothing special! i wish it wasn't salted so much! srsly. too much salt! my husband got the breakfast deal that's available from m-f and that was a really good deal at 8.99 - comes with cinnamon french toast, a little eggs (it looked to be 1.5 eggs lol), slice of bacon. forgot to take pics of food but it's whatever haha read more

The family wanted brunch on our last day of vacation. SIL found Ruby's and we said why not?! Classic diner with all of the mementos, fun atmosphere. You have a choice of how to dine, stay in your car and have your meal delivered by a carhop, inside dining room or outside on the patio. They also have a counter to sit at inside. We chose to dine inside. When we walked in it was quiet with only a few other diners. By the time we left the place was filling up. We were greeted by a very friendly server who took our drink order and returned with them in a flash. SIL ordered the Cinnamon Roll French Toast, daughter the Breakfast Burrito, hubs the Buttermilk Hot Cakes breakfast, and the 2 Egg breakfast for myself. The portions are huge! We chose Ruby's because they had breakfast all day. Learned that some breakfast items aren't available after 11:30am but they still offer a pretty big selection. I ordered the cinnamon roll french toast with scrambled eggs and ham. My son has the super burger with tater tots. Everything was exactly as expected. Yum and Yum!! I haven't eaten there for a while and so glad I went back! I looked over the menu and I couldn't decide since everything sounded good. I settled on the Classic Cheeseburger and fries. Can I tell you the food was everything I was hoping for. The burger was delicious, juicy and done perfectly! The fries were amazing! The seasoning was so good. I wanted more! The service was good. The servers were very nice and helpful. We sat on the patio since my friend had her dog with her. The patio is okay with dogs!! Just check in and let them know you have a dog and will sit on the patio... The restaurant was very nice and clean. Omg. This Ruby's Diner was amazing both mornings I came here to grab breakfast. The French toast was sweet and savory- such a delicious treat for a morning meal to fuel me for a long day in the Disney park- but very well worth it! The restaurant was clean, servers were friendly, and the servings are on the larger side. Sadly the sign on the door said the location (on Lincoln) is closing the 27th of July 2025 . Hadn't been here in a while as it's a little out of the way but stopped here today to get some food to go. I'm sure there's an app where I could have ordered ahead, but I just went in and told the girl behind the register I wanted an order to go. She gave me a menu, waiting until I was ready, and took my order with no problem. She asked if I wanted some water while I waited, but then I decided to throw in a diet coke instead, which she got for me about a minute after I paid. In the days a cell phones, waiting just doesn't seem as long since I was playing a game, after checking in on Yelp of course. I ordered a milkshake with the 2 meals so when my food was brought out, she offered a drink holder for my 2 drinks. I love it when I don't have to ask for things like that. Sadly, traffic issues slowed me trip back home with the food, as the milkshake slowly melted in the 80+ degree hit coming through the front wind shield. Not even A/C is going to prevent that from happening. Getting home, the food was nicely packed and protected for the drive. Unfortunately, the fries also ended up only being lukewarm. Not Ruby's fault, just a matter of fact. The food was as I've expected over the years coming to Ruby's. Everything is getting pricey so expect to spend $20/person with a drink and a meal. Even so, this will always be my favorite Ruby's because of the historical nature of the building. read more

Ruby's hasn't changed! I love the classic diner feel that ruby's has, it's theme and quality has been maintained over the years. While other restaurants change to keep up with the times, I love that Ruby's is just as I remember it growing up. A lot has changed at Ruby's. The fries are now fatter and less crispy. The burgers seem shrunken. The available flavors of shakes has decreased. The service tonight was indifferent. The second my family and I walked in, we were greeted and sat. Immediately. Also, the second we got sat, they asked us what we wanted to drink. Literally perfect service. The vibes were immaculate. The details, down to the lights and the tile in the bathroom is perfect. It's updated 50's and I am so here for it. My little siblings also got toys to play with once they say, and were ecstatic. The host was the sweetest guy ever, and our waitress was so kind! The server outfits are also super cool, resembling the 50's waiter outfits. To my gluten-free foodies: they do have plenty of options, gluten free buns for burgers and gluten free English muffins, and have a FABULOUS Caesar salad with chicken (I should know, I got it lol). Tbh, the chicken Caesar with a Diet Coke was absolute perfection. The kids meals were a pretty darn good portion, and the burgers looked amazing, as my brother and parents got burgers. We were hoping for a short wait time for breakfast on a Sunday. This was the spot. The ambiance is 1950s. Music is oldies from the 50s too. Thankfully. Our host was friendly, seemed a little shy. Our waitress was prompt and she went on her break so Thelma helped us afterward. She was accommodating, as I witnessed another guest complain and she was quick to fix the situation (he wanted a bigger booth). Our food was quick, hot, and presentable...and tasty. Stopped by ruby's diner as we waited for the car to charge. There's a lot of tesla chargers and this diner is conveniently located in the same plaza. When you walk in, you're greeted with the old fashion diner ambiance, along with the staff in old fashioned diner apparel, and it's refreshing to see. They have plenty of seating indoors and it looks like there's seating outdoors as well towards the back. The staff here are friendly. The food was okay. The menu is your typical diner menu - pancakes, breakfast meats, eggs, country fried steak, potatoes, etc. I got the really hungry breakfast plate which comes with eggs, 2 choices of meat, choice of biscuits & gravy or pancakes, and potatoes. I got my eggs over easy, the bacon and breakfast sausage, biscuits and gravy, and hash browns. The eggs were perfectly made, the bacon and breakfast sausage were good - the sausages are not your typical sausage links (they're better here!), I was disappointed in the biscuits and gravy - the gravy was bland and barely had any sausage in it, and the hash browns made me sad ): I feel like hash browns are hard to mess up but unfortunately, mine were a rubbery-like texture and just not it. It's nice to have this diner to go to while waiting for the car to charge, but it's just another average diner spot. read more

We stopped by this Ruby's location before heading back home to SD. There is plenty of parking, clean restaurant, nice atmosphere, good food & a friendly staff. The Ruby rings was a good starter, it wasn't too greasy like some places. The Sriracha Burger was decent, I couldn't really taste the Sriracha, but it still had a good flavor. Came here last week for a millkshake. I had the chocolate chocolate chip shake and it was too chocolatey for me. I wish it had less fudge in it and less chocolate chips. I should have gone for a different one. Next time I will try the salted caramel shake or the chocolate shake. It was a good portion. read more

I just want to give a huge shout out to Guadalupe "Lupe" at this location. My husband and I stopped in not too long ago and had such amazing service from Guadalupe. He was extremely attentive & such a kind soul. We left satisfied with our food & will go out of our way to come to this particular location because of the perfect service we received here. We had stopped in for lunch and more specifically to get myself a malt. Our food came out quickly and our drinks were constantly refilled even without us asking. I had to ask for a few modifications to our appetizer due to my pregnancy and Guadalupe made sure everything was exactly perfect. read more

Well the boys wanted to go to Ruby's diner after church services today. I ordered three pork sausage patties, scrambled eggs, harsh browns, and wheat toast. My server was a kind young lady, but my food was not cooked properly. The sausages were not raw and then I asked for the patties to be cooked longer because they were still pink. My boys was happy with their food but momma bear was not happy. Come on .... Who wants to eat burnt/hard over cooked eggs with potatoes and sausages not cooked ! What in the world. Sunday will still be perfect regardless if my breakfast was not! I will encourage chefs to prepare food like it was for themselves. Take pride in your work and this will keep the customers coming. My 3 year old toddler had just fallen asleep in the car, I had a ton of groceries in the back, and being 4.5 months pregnant and starving but didn't want to get fast food from a drive thru, I remembered Ruby's was close to our new home. I read that they had drive-in service at this location so I eagerly parked near the entrance and waited for someone to come take my order... crickets... so I called the main line and Pieter answered to let me know they didn't actually have the staff to continue that service. I was sooooo bummed and was about to hang up when he asked where I parked and in what car. He brought out a menu and said he could do it to go for me. I almost wanted to cry tears of joy!!!! I ordered a BLTA w/ fries and a root beer float and let me tell you, BOMB! The bacon was so crispy and the sourdough bread was toasted with I think cheese on the outside?? I didn't take a picture because I was having a not so great evening. But my sister who deserved to get whatever she wanted for dinner happened to want a medium rare burger and even with the fancy downtown breweries and such, only Ruby's' had reviews mentioning customers were happy with specifics like that, and I happen to love their shakes, and it had been probably near a decade since we went there so we decided to give it a try in hopes that it wasn't too busy for dinner time. Luckily it wasn't. There was one couple ahead of us and then we were seated; but the bar was pretty tempting too. Our server was Javi and he was super sweet to laugh at our jokes and he was attentive. He missed the side of green beans we ordered, but that was for the best as we over ordered anyway. I have a Yelp coupon for a free itsy bitsy Sundae with check in so we used that first for a hot fudge sundae and I ordered my favorite chocolate, peanut butter, banana shake. I learned that next time I'd likely order a banana and pb shake with hot fudge as the chocolate. But it was still fun. We ordered the super burger with cheddar rather than the Swiss (preferences) and the burger was perfection. Only gripe was that it was too big to bite, but that's not too bad. I ordered the fish and chips and they were perfect as well! I loved the fries with skin and seasoned well. I don't like tartar sauce, but I loved this tartar sauce. LOVED. I didn't eat the coleslaw but I ordered it packaged to go on the side and it was done. There's a sign in the restroom that kids under 12 eat free after 4pm on Tuesdays and I think that's an amazing deal. Additionally, Monday has a 2 burger and 2 shake for $20 special (I think? Good place for a burger and shakes/Malts. Always have loved Ruby's but since they closed the ones near the beach this is my go to. This one has a cute 50's diner inside, it's a little unique compared to the others around. It's close to Disneyland which makes it nice to go to after a day at the park. Food is always great as well as service. Shakes or malts, definitely order them vs as to go, you'll get twice the amount for the same cost. The only thing I found annoying is the parking. They have added a lot of Tesla parking/charging spots. Which can make it difficult to park when they are busy. Last time we came, there was not one Tesla parked or charging in the spots. There was however a mini van parked in the spots lol. And a Tesla was parked in a normal spot. The only reason I dropped this review to 3 stars. read more
