We found and joined the wait-list online because it was raining and the parking lot was full. When we were about 8th on the list (about 10min after joining at #17) and the rain let up we walked in to check in. We were seated immediately at a high top. Our server was attentive and excellent. I had a bacon bloody Mary and my partner ordered an Irish coffee. Both were good! We split the Benny trifecta and sweet heat French toast bites entrees. I enjoyed the chicken st Charles Benny the most with that pork taso cream sauce. The eggs cochon was like a pulled pork Benny and was also excellent. My partner are the shrimp Benny by himself and liked it. He agrees the chicken st Charles was the best thing we ate. The sweet heat chicken was perfectly fried and the French toast was yummy. If rather the chicken on a sandwich next time though. I liked both elements individually but not as much together. He thought Parish Biscuits has a better Benny overall, but I think it's comparable. We were seated by the kitchen which was fine although it was a bit loud and chaotic. To be honest, seeing how well the kitchen was run made me want to return. They really stayed on top of things and treated each other respectfully. Will definitely return! My husband and I had a wonderful experience at the new Ruby Slippers in Lafayette. We were seated immediately with smiling friendly faces. Our server, Elijah was TOP NOTCH! He was well versed on the menu and expressed a love for his job that definitely showed through his communication. He was proud! The service was quick and the FOOD was AMAZING! We ordered the pig candied bacon, the Biscuits & Gravy, Sweet heat chicken and French toast. I don't usually leave reviews, but I feel like people deserve a heads-up. We went to Ruby Slipper in Lafayette excited for brunch, but we didn't even get the chance to eat. The service was shockingly bad from the moment we walked in. We were barely acknowledged, and after being seated, we waited far too long without even a greeting or water. The staff seemed disorganized, inattentive, and uninterested. No one checked on us, and it felt like we were invisible. After sitting for quite a while with no service at all, we decided to leave. We had high hopes because of the reputation, but unfortunately, this was one of the worst customer service experiences we've ever had. We were told that the wait would be 15-20 minutes and we waited for over an HOUR. We were still #4 on the waitlist, but one of us went in to complain about the wait time, and they finally sat us. We ordered an appetizer and the server kept saying it would be 5-10 more minutes each time she came back. They even sent the chef to tell us the appetizer would only be 5-6 more minutes. He lied. It was another 20 after that. It took 45 minutes, only for it to come out in a bowl smaller than my head. It came out at the same time as the entrees. When the food came out, it was cold. The hot chocolate was very watery, the pancakes were tough, the grits were watery, the fried fish was over-fried and tasted burnt, and the beignets had no flavor and hard.
