They are more interested in putting you in their roster as they have interviewed you then actually working with you. I agree with the review about them being the classic "bait and switch technique". I have landed a job in my field with better temp agencies in the SF area. Definitely would not recommend. read more

BEWARE. I had one interview and that was it. They advertise jobs but where are they? Another incompetent lousy agency.

I've known David Goldman for years - he got me the interview at my last long term place of employment. It was a world renown organization with top notch people and hands down some of the best benefits offered by anyone. After 12 years there, I found myself on the job search again after a couple discouraging efforts with other recruiters I will not mention, I thought to reach out to David again. After a quick Google search, I found Ruby Peak and emailed David, on a weekend no less! Within 30 minutes he replied to me. And that started my second go round with David but my first with Ruby Peak. Their people skills, professionalism and follow through are unparalleled. My job search took a bit longer than I had anticipated (not by any fault of Ruby Peak), but through the process I had great interviews with amazing companies and David was always very supportive, transparent and responsive with me. He knew me well and assured me that we would find just the "right" fit. Always positive and engaging, David always had my back. Lo and behold, here I sit on the first official day of my new engagement after a month long successful temp assignment and I'm literally scratching my head almost in disbelief that I found my "dream job". My employer and I both, are grateful and thrilled over this pairing. David was able to negotiate everything I was hoping for. I honestly would have never dreamt of finding a job like this. And I wouldn't have without Ruby Peak and David Goldman. read more

I interviewed there during the huge layoff period the bay area was experiencing. I had been off of work for almost a year, and was temping to keep up my skill set. I went to Ruby Peak because I wanted to try a new in, and was glad I was able to be seen and sent out to an interview immediately. The company I met with was great, and the interview went really well! I was called back and actually met the entire team that I would be supporting. When it came to the salary, I was hitting about $15K less a year than I was making at my previous employer, so that was the hardest part. They told me to take that job, that each day I wasn't working I was losing money anyway, and at least this would put me in a permanent role. Although I know I am worth more than that, I agreed and accepted the offer. Two days had gone by and I heard that they retracted the offer. What a waste and an annoying blow! I asked the reason and none was given. I feel like the recruiters don't want to make anyone made, so they treat their candidates like garbage. Although I feel like they could have worked harder for me in pushing for more salary wise, or at a better starting rate, they are just doing their job. I still feel like I was pushed to go the lower route, and I guess it was a blessing because I ended up going with another recruiter and getting only $3K less than my previous job, and am now back where I was. read more

i was contacted because i submitted my resume. they arranged an interview very fast. i traveled to the city and expect to get to know more about the position. once he reviewed my resume, he said i do not fit to that position. he will contact me once he has any position good for me. then why bother to ask me for interview, especially you read my resume before? useless agancy. they just want to build lead pipeline. not helpful at all. read more

I had a great experience with Ruby Peak Recruiting. After moving from the Midwest, I started with the Craigslist search, where I found a position that seemed to be a perfect fit. Two days after I applied I was brought in for the initial interview. Ethan was very polite, direct and provided me with eight different opportunities in the Bay Area. He really listened to my expectations and aligned them with the positions he saw fit. I met with David briefly, who was a bit apathetic and impersonal, but got the info from me he needed. Ethan gave me some time to decide on what positions I wanted to apply for after doing my own research. I was offered an interview within a week at a very prestigious company. Ethan coached me through an intensive interview process with a client he seemed to know well. He also made emphatic suggestions to my resume to tailor it to the client for success. We connected after each interview and he provided very beneficial feedback. I was offered the position and am very thankful to Ruby Peak for making the match. They are very professional, responsive and do well by their clients and applicants. read more

Not sure where all the positive reviews are coming from. I sent my resume to this agency thinking they would assist me. I neither received a phone call nor any email correspondence. I decided to give them a call. A person by the name of Trish answered. I introduced myself and she seemed to be friendly. I informed her that I emailed my resume. She said oh, here it is. She asked what type of employment was I looking for and I responded with anything that would be suitable to my resume. She said well the requirements are very stringent and took only 3-5 seconds to give the reply. I understand completely recruiters are bombarded with requests and now have a trained eye to see what "they" want and what "they" don't want. What I do not understand is how an individual as myself who has two college degrees, was brought in for an interview with the Secret Service, a candidate with the S.F.P.D. and a Director/Assistant Director of a program for the San Jose Mayor's Gang Prevention Task Force has absolutely ZERO chance of obtaining employment let alone given a chance by a recruiting agency who just looks for key words that their software may not pick up. Recruiters are there to help and gain compensation once they place an individual but to not telephone a person back, regardless of how many inquiries they receive, is pretty rude and very unprofessional. But, to be told there's nothing and we'll keep your resume on file should not be the norm and not giving any effort is even more unprofessional. I expected a small place such as this to be friendly and go the extra mile but i was proven wrong. Maybe they will read this and make changes because people are more than just words on a piece of paper. Try other agencies before deciding on this place. Wish it could have turned out different. read more

I had a great experience with Ruby Peak. The first time I went in they had multiple positions for me to review and within two days I had an interview. Then within a few more days I landed the job! David was great with coaching me through the interview process and obviously with listening to what I was looking for and finding me a great fit. He made the whole experience painless. Definitely recommended Ruby Peak to anyone who is searching for their next role! read more

David and Ruby Peak immediately developed a good understanding of my company's needs, helped educate us on the types of candidates we could/should expect for the position we were trying to fill, presented a range to us so that we could see for ourselves, added some creative ideas and managed the entire process smoothly and personably from start to finish (hire). Highly recommended! read more

David is an excellent recruiter and was a pleasure to work with. He is one of the few recruiters who actually listened to what I was interested in and looked for opportunities that suited my interests. He is dedicated to finding a good company/employee match and I think that's what makes him so unique. He works with some great companies and does a good job getting interviews set up. I really appreciated how direct he was and found him to be very sincere. I would highly recommend him to any EAs looking for a recruiter. read more

Jim Powell is a "rock star!" He is the BEST recruiter I've ever worked with. That is saying a lot since almost every job I've had was through a recruiting agency. I never once felt like I was just a number (as it did with the other recruiter I was using). He's very thorough in his interview process. He's not just interested in placing someone just to place them. He really wants to make sure it's the right fit for both his client and you. I decided to move out of state so Jim obviously isn't able to help me now. If I ever decide to move back to SF I will hunt him down. ;) All I have to say is my new recruiter has big shoes to fill! read more

When my boss of nearly 11 years decided to retire at the beginning of the year - I too found myself looking for a new position. Two friends highly recommended David Goldman of Ruby Peak to assist me in my search. David personally reviewed my resume and helped me get a clear perspective on what I would want my next 10+ years of working to be like. Drawing from the last 11 years I was able to identify what was important to me. I made the track from Silicon Valley to His office on Sutter to meet with him - my goal was to gain more insight and direction for my job search. David met me reviewed my resume and experience - I was able to convey to him that as an Executive Assistant I wanted to find another Partnership with a new Boss which I was lucky to have found in my last two positions. I had spent a lot of time polishing my resume and working with an outplacement agency to have a polished and perfect resume. David agreed that my resume was perfect there was nothing to change. His only comment was that it said "expensive" - yes the salary I was looking for was high - I wanted a match of my former salary and benefits. But I pointed out to him that I was also a bargain because I sis the work of 2-3 people with ease. His parting advice to me was "do not settle for less than what you want because you deserve it - your salary request is not out of line and there is a job out there for you. Worst case ..... While you are looking for that perfect job you may need to take a contract position". Slow was the progress some weeks there were many requests for interviews others none - yet I never wavered in my search it was my full time job. At the later part of March interviews picked up and I was flooded with requests. I ended up landing my dream job - for my same salary benefits etc. I believe I have also found that partnership relationship in a boss I also was looking for. David's advice was spot on he knows the market he knows a good candidate and client when he sees it. He has an ability to help you decide what's important for your future/work life balance etc. Just days before my offer came through he called me about a contract assignment I was able to tell him I was inches away from an offer and had a lot to do to tie things up. I view his advice to me as key in my keeping up the search for the perfect position - I could have taken other jobs with a significant pay cut. Holding out for the perfect fit and salary was the best thing I did. If you are looking for a job put Ruby Peak on your list of recruiters they are the best in the business! read more

I am appalled at the negative remarks given about Ruby Peak! My experience was exceptional with David. I found him on a whim (but was later referred to him, coincidentally, by a friend who used him recently), submitted my resume and heard back from him instantly. I believe the turn-around was no more than a day. I used three recruiters in my search and David was certainly the most connected to the world of pursuing companies (most of which he has a history with already, which was great because he understood personalities of the interviewers and knew how to prepare me for the meeting). I had five interviews set up after the first week of my initial meeting with David. This is unquestionably a wonderful thing for a candidate and I was thrilled! David was diligent in providing thorough information on each company and would make note to highlight where my experience or personality made him believe it was a good match. In a few cases, it was a bit of stretch, but he was great about admitting that it might be and asked if was interested in going forward with the interview. He was very conscientious about placing me somewhere that suited me well, which I found comforting and less worrisome in the process of the search. Additionally, David was great about checking in with me before and after each interview just to get a gage of what I was feeling. I think he was easy to work with, attentive, responsive, thoughtful, a great coach when needed and someone I always knew was on my side. read more

I have now worked with David Goldman as both a colleague and client, and believe I can adequately speak to his level of professionalism and expertise in a well-rounded way. David works with the highest level of integrity and respect for both his candidates and his clients, and will take the extra time to truly understand the needs of both without sacrificing efficiency. His focus on quality will allow him to continually be able to forge long lasting business relationships. I would recommend his services to anyone. read more

"David Goldman is a recruiter from an age of civility and professionalism. He does not pit candidates against each other - rather, he takes the time to get to know his candidates and only sends them on interviews for positions that would be mutually successful. I cannot recommend David highly enough. If you are lucky enough to be a candidate of David's - you are in the best hands in the industry. If you are lucky enough to have engaged his services - you will be introduced to the best person for you. " read more

If I could give a lower rating, I would. Got an interview immediately. They were not thorough with me or the employer I was placed with, incorrect information regarding the job. They had no idea what the company or job was about and though I did get the position, I was there less than 3 months due mostly to their lack of research and misinformation. Figured they would be very proactive in helping me get placed due to the terrible experience. Still waiting for a call, email or any contact since April 2014. Stay away, totally unprofessional and not in the least bit courteous! That's you, Tony! read more

I had worked with Ruby Peak, specifically David Goldman during my job search. They were the most professional and hard working firm I have worked with hands down. My initial interaction with Ashley in the office was extremely receptive and responsive. After describing where I was at in my career and where I want to go, David gave me the best advice on how to reflect it on my resume. Although the economy is not optimal, David was attentive and contacted me weekly to ensure that if something that was a perfect fit came along, he would consider me. He was creative in his search, and has great business relationships and clients that I would never have access to. Without reservation, I would highly recommend anyone who is searching for the next great job, reach out to Ruby Peak. They will work hard to assist you and help you in your search. I had the pleasure to work with David for several years and know for a fact he would like nothing more than to help everyone he meets find work. The simple fact is as a Recruiter you can't help everyone that you meet. David tries every day to arrange interviews for all his candidates but at the end of the day it is the client who ultimately decides who they will agree to meet for interviews and who they won't. read more

LIES! LIES! LIES! In the beginning, when I applied for a position, "Tony King" the recruiter, would respond to my email within a heartbeat regarding information about our interview. The next day, I had the opportunity to meet up with him, he gave me several job opportunity and told me that with my qualifications, I would essentially get the job. Puhahaha, yeah right! He told me the job that he offered me, that I will start within a week. A week has pass by and no calls from Tony or updates regarding the job, he didn't care. I would literally have to chase after him to try to get some answer, but he was very vague about it and couldn't be honest with me. It's funny how early on he would reply to my email immediately and then afterwards when I email him about the job, he would not reply back to me and when I got a hold of him via phone, he told me he has not forgotten about me and that he is still waiting for the company to respond back to him. Such full of B.S.! Please don't waste your time guys! They will lure you in and waste your time and act like they have never met you! David worked with me every step of my journey giving me guidance, support and advice. His knowledge and passion as a recruiter was inspiring. He supported me with prep calls before each interview and really helped me to understand aspects about my job experiences to help incorporate them into finding a job that was the right fit for me. He has amazing character and integrity and was available anytime for questions/concerns. He really believes in people--and boy does it make a difference! He is an exceptional person who provides amazing results If you are willing and dedicated to finding that perfect job. At the end of 2014 I found myself in the job market in unfamiliar territory. I saw an ad for Ruby Peak Recruiting and called and spoke to David. I got an immediate response and went to meet him in person. He was very thorough with his interview questions and I walked away thinking "he may be the one who helps me to get a job". Well, sure enough, he sent me on a handful of interviews but there was one company in particular that I was really excited about. David supported me the entire way as I went through several interviews with this company and was thrilled when they offered me the job! Even after I started the work and had the "first week jitters", David talked me through it and supported me. I am so happy with my new job and know that if weren't for David and Ruby Peak, I would not have found such an amazing company. I highly recommend David and his agency as he really went to bat for me. I really appreciate all the support along the way, and it's still coming. Thank you David! read more

Moving back to the Bay Area in this job market had me a little stressed. I shouldn't have been! Talissa from Ruby Peak emailed me via LinkedIn on the Fourth of July about a job they were recruiting for - these folks take their work seriously! The job sounded too good to be true, but I called her the next day. I was immediately transferred to David Goldman. He is a direct and to the point kind of person, but also easy to talk to. He was also very accommodating...he wanted to meet me in person before sending me out to his clients, but I hadn't yet moved to the area, so we did our initial interview via Skype. Things moved quickly from there. He kept me very busy interviewing for the initial job they'd contacted me about, as well as for several other opportunities - all of them right up my alley. I think he has a good knack for honing in on what a person's strengths are and the kind of environment for which they are best suited. As a result, all of my first round interviews resulted in call backs for second and sometimes third rounds. Less than three weeks after making contact with Ruby Peak, I received an outstanding offer from the company that I was originally called about! David was there throughout...calling before the interviews to make sure I was prepared and to see if I had questions, checking in after meetings to find out how things went, and through the negotiation process - which was painless because of his expertise, btw. He and his team are very dedicated and even made themselves available evenings and weekends. They also seemed sincerely pleased when I got an offer (yes, I know they make money from the placement...but it still seemed sincere). Lastly, they also contacted me after I started my new job to see how things were going. I would highly recommend working with David and his team! True, dedicated professionals with talent! read more

David Goldman is the man! Having just re-located from the East Coast, I hit the ground running in my search for a new position. After sitting down with multiple agencies, I immediately recognized the difference in David's approach. He asked a lot of questions about what I was looking for in a position (culture, experience, location, etc., etc.), and he was very knowledgeable about his clients. He seemed to have great relationships with the people at the firms for the positions he sent me out for, and he was honest with me every step of the way. In addition to keeping me informed, he always made sure to touch base with me and actually listen to my thoughts, feedback, and concerns - which is SO much more than many recruiters can say. David is genuine, non-sugar-coating, honest, and concerned about his candidates and clients alike. He landed me in the position I have today, and I am very, very thankful for the time and effort he and his team put forth. Very cool in my book - Ruby Peak Rocks! read more

It's been years since I have had to look for a new job opportunity and learned quickly that you need to work with recruiters for access to the lucrative jobs. I scheduled a day full of recruiter meetings and Ruby Peak was one of them. I met with three total. One of them seemed nice enough, a small boutique place. One of them met with me for a total of 10 minutes to tell me what was wrong with my resume, and then there was David at Ruby Peak. He took the time to listen to what type of position and environment I was looking for at my next opportunity. He had very good comments/suggestions to help with my job search. He was very direct and straight forward in how things would proceed and that is something I appreciate. Every job opportunity he submitted me for, he first called to speak with me about the position, why he believed it was a good fit for me, and he gave me all the background information that he knew about the position and the company. There were other recruiters that would just submit your resume to openings without your knowledge, without reasons why they thought it was a good fit for you or without any kind of conversation with you. I was one of the lucky ones where I had a job while searching for a new one so I was not so desperate as to need to be submitted to everything and anything so blind submittals was not in my best interest or something I desired to have done. David always spoke to me before and after all of my interviews. He spoke with me before the interviews so I can practice what I would say and what the best approach was for me to be the most successful in my interviews. After my interview, he followed up with me to learn how I felt the interview went, what I liked and what I did not like about the company, if at all. Working with three or four recruiters during this period, Ruby Peak was the one I felt gave me the most attention, paying close attention to my needs, and provided the most helpful advice and encouragement out of the rest. I would highly recommend David and Trish to any professional looking to work with a recruiter.. I have had the BEST experience working with them! read more
