I disliked working with this company the most. The initial interview with them went well and I got submitted to two positions in two different companies. Eventually, I got interviews with both. For my first interview, I had a short interview prep phone call with my recruiter. Then I went to my interview. The feedback during my interview was that I was too qualified and would be bored. It was an Executive Assistant/Office Manager position and during my interview I talked about my past jobs having Executive Assistant/Project Coordination/Office Management duties. My recruiter sounded irritated that I talked about my Project Coordinator experience and told me I should have just focused on Admin. Honestly, that would have been hard since one of my role was titled "Project Coordinator" and it was where I learned the most about multitasking and completing projects from beginning to end. I've only progressed since that role in abilities. Also, the job description he sent me said "heavy project management." I was pissed he sent me to a role that wasn't as challenging as I had asked in my initial interview. If anything, I felt he oversold me on the job. Anyways, he didn't call me for a bit and I didn't call either because I really disliked him. I didn't care I didn't get that job and wasn't a fit for them. His job was to find them someone that fit them. I shouldn't be admonished for representing my full experience and abilities. I don't even know how representing my "project coordinator" experience would make me "overqualify" for a job with "heavy project management" opportunities. Then, out of the blue, the other company he had submitted me for wanted to interview me because a candidate they picked declined and they had to start again. I took the interview because it was LGBT related and that was a dream. I went to two rounds. The recruiter asked to prep me for both rounds and for me to make time before both interviews for coaching. Guess what? He never called. After the first time he didn't call, I didn't expect him to call the second - AND HE DIDN'T. After my second interview, I wanted to withdraw. It took me a day or two to decide that and I thought hard about it. He kept contacting me after the second interview while I was still thinking. I didn't feel I took that long to decide and when I did, I emailed him right away. It was an unpleasant experience. I felt he was easy to give up on me after interviewing "overqualified" and a jerk to schedule prep calls that he didn't care enough to make happen. Plus, I never got a feedback call from my first interview. This was my least stressful job search and had it been stressful, working with him would have made it worst. read more

Never once called to follow up. I've called twice to check in but can't seem to get a returned phone call. Ruby Peak Recruiting, like a lot of employment agencies, used to call my old firm every couple of months to check in to see if we needed any temp or perm help, We never needed any assistance, but appreciated it that they would keep in touch and were so pleasant. Last year one of their recruiters contacted me via her manager's, David Goldman's account on LinkedIn. She (or he) wanted to know if I was interested in a specific position. I replied quickly and told them that I was happy in my current role, and thanked them for thinking of me. I also told them I'd be in touch if my situation changed. Well, my situation has changed, and I contacted them via LinkedIn several weeks ago to let them know I was available and would like to meet with them regarding my job search. You know what? Not a peep was heard from them. Nada. Nothing. Nyet. That's what I call unprofessional. And that's why they will remain a third-rate agency at best, with a roster of unknown clients and fake ads. read more

The person who wrote that "Erin Graffius is the best recruiter ever" - is so obviously Erin Graffius b/c one star is too much for her. Erin Graffius is the WORST recruiter out there. I don't want you to think I don't like her b/c she didn't get me a job (she didn't) but it has nothing to do w that. I am relocating to SF and when I showed up for my meeting w Erin she had not only "forgotten" to write down our appointment but also forgot to submit me for the job that I was applying for and was completely perfect for me based on my experience. After apologizing profusely, she tried to submit me late and was told they were already too far in the process to accept more possibilities. Gee, thanks. From that point, I realized that she posts fake ads for non-existent positions and misrepresents the qualifications needed in order to attract more candidates to sign up with her. My beef really is.....why become a recruiter if you aren't doing everything you can to get your candidates jobs?? Nobody is going to match the clients needs EXACTLY - Erin needs to learn to push for her candidates, especially the good ones, like myself. She won't even bother submitting me for jobs that don't match my background exactly and that is a huge mistake and doing her clients and candidates a huge disservice. DO NOT work w Erin. I haven't reviewed many things on Yelp because, well, I just never got into it. However, my interaction with Ethan at Ruby Peak has been so out of this world, that I have to offer my recommendation. During my first meeting with Ethan, he challenged me by asking tough, out-of-the-box questions that my extensive job search had not prepared me for. He pushed me to be the best candidate I could be, which no other recruiter I'd worked with really seemed to do. He was quick on his feet, thorough, and respectful... It has been over a week and repeated attempts at contact have been unsuccessful. I have no idea why they do not even respond to someone looking at using their services. If I am not someone they can work with or if they do not get positions that will be a fit for me then simply send a short email stating so. I just realized that the negative reviews are filtered, had I known that I would likely have went elsewhere anyway. They seem to have as many negative reviews as positive. Worst recruiting agency EVER!! Met with recruiter less than a half hour. They claim they specialize in making the perfect fit - couldn't be farther from the truth. Recruiter must have told me three times in the 20 minutes I was there that I should not call him, it would do me no good, he will call me, when and if, something comes up that is a match. The recruiter was the worst interviewer. For someone that claims to be an experienced recruiter he was unable to articulate his questions. Complete idiot. I'm upset I even had to give them one star. I met with them 2 years ago when I was in the process of moving up from LA. I had no idea what rate to ask for other than more than I made in LA. I asked for $5 more per hour than the best paying job I had in LA. He acted like that was a lot, I held my ground at what I e since discovered was a pathetically low rate. Luckiky, I was contacted by another recruiter found me a job paying $5 an hour more than what I asked Ruby Peak for. I was converted to permanent at $10 per hour more than the rate I quoted him. I would like to start out by saying that I have never posted a review online about anything in my life but this is necessary for everyone out there who is struggling with their job search. Lori is hands down the best recruiter I've ever worked with. To be completely honest, I've really hated working with recruiters in the past. After meeting with 4 recruiters that day, I was so disappointed and exhausted I was ready to flake on my last meeting which was Ruby Peak. I texted my boyfriend and he convinced me to follow through with this last meeting and then I was going to be done with recruiters for good. I am so beyond grateful that I didn't flake that day. When I met with Lori, she really took the time to get to know me and hear about my experience and genuinely wanted to know what I wanted in my next job and what company culture I was looking for. I really felt like I could trust her and that she had my best interest at heart. She told me about a couple positions that might work but saved the best for last. She didn't know if they already filled the position but she said she was going to call them and see if she could get me a last minute interview. The very next day she let me know that the hiring manager had already found someone for the job and that she was going to tell the other candidate they got it. Lori somehow convinced her to hold off on making a decision for just one more day and told her she needed to meet me before she made the final call. She agreed. I had my interview early the next morning. The second I walked through the door I just knew in my gut that this is where I needed to be. Everything that Lori told me about the Company and the people was true. I knew that I needed to do whatever it takes to get this job and work my ass off to make this a full time position. I met Erin in person not expecting too much since I didn't have much success with other temps. I filled out paper work and spoke with Erin briefly about what I was looking for. It's the old Temp Agency bait and switch trick. They have a Position for you.....until you get there to sign up and then....the job description has changed or the job given to someone else. I answered an ad on Craigslist for a position. It had the entire job description and the rate of pay. When I was contacted by an Agency, instead of an Actual company, I was skeptical because I have dealt with Agencies in the past and they are little or no help. I decided to take a chance with yet another San Francisco Agency based on these Yelp reviews. I arrived and then finished the paperwork before my actual appointment. The Receptionist took my resume and references and said that the Representative would be right with me. He came to the lobby and sat down. When they didn't know what position I was applying for, I knew this was a red flag, but continued on with the process. When I asked about the position that I applied for, he was unclear of the status of the job but upon checking found out that the job requirements had changed and I wasn't eligible for the position anymore. I told him I was disappointed about this but he said there was nothing he could do. This could have been told me over the phone before taking Bart over to find out there job was no longer available. I was there less than 15 minutes and sent on my way which leads me to believe they had no interest in really helping a job candidate but meeting only to get their quota met. I was given a piece of paper with a couple of companies he said I could check out on the net and see if they sounded like some place I might want to work (Isn't that his job???) Typical recruiting firm that does the bait-and-switch by bringing you in for an interview, but not for the job you applied for. It's shady. They then try to "sell" other opportunities. I also think they bring in candidates as an exercise. The recruiter I met seemed like an amateur and had no personality. Total waste of time. read more

This recruiting agency is a joke. They call or email me every few years because of my resume on CL with jobs that don't exist, thinking I'm stupid enough to come in for yet another cattle-call "interview". I had no issue telling them to get lost and permanently remove my contact information from their files, as most recruiters in SF are a flat-out joke, anyway. Stay away! read more

I met with Trish almost 2 months ago. I had recently left my full time position of 3 years to look for something new that had upward mobility opportunities. I scheduled an appointment with Trish. We had a meeting and I gave her all my resume information, previous work experience and educational background (which is great-bachelor's degree, professional for over 4 years) and she assured me that she had something in mind. She said if that position didn't work out we'd discuss something else. I left the office confident, and even sent a thank you, follow up email after the meeting. This was 2 1/2 months ago and I have heard nothing else from this place. She completely wasted my time and was completely useless. I was led on into thinking that I would be receiving a service and I was never even contacted back. Not even an email. Since the meeting I got another job thanks to me own personal searches and sources. I cannot say if these people help others find jobs but they completely ignored me. read more

I remember this guy, David, who used to be my recruiter from the Alan J. Blair days. What should that tell you, first off? One of the worst recruiting agencies in SF ever. David never was able to place me in years I'd been registered there. (He said he'd have difficulty placing someone with a lot of "temp" on their resume--I didn't have much then.) I found out he'd founded his own firm and decided to try him again here. (This was years ago.) Big mistake. When you see someone's colors don't ever think he'll change. He met me once in his office and said he'd call with opportunities. That was also a load of bull just like at AJB. Another year or two rolls around and I decided to contact him yet again because he has jobs posted on the web. So, he chats all nice and friendly on the phone, I send him my resume, and he writes, "Maybe I'll have better luck this time placing you!" What the hell does this mean from some so-called "recruiting veteran"? You think you "might" have better luck placing me this time? Why would that be? I know lip service when I hear it. He is the worst, egotistical, shallow, non-caring recruiter I've ever met and I'll be sure to not recommend him anywhere whether it be for a business or to friends looking for work. He will never call you and just let you drop off the radar. Ruby Peak is synonymous with = No results, ever. Yes, Ruby Peak is surley the shiznit.
