David Goldman is the best! I first met him 3 years ago when I was just out of college. With very little experience he was able to immediately secure some great interviews for me. I ended up taking a job that I had found on my own, but David still kept in touch over the next couple of years and was a great resource for any career advice that I needed. A couple months ago I told him I was ready to make a change. Once again, he immediately lined up interviews for me at awesome companies. I ended up getting a substantial offer after my first interview and accepted within the week! David is very honest and easy to get along with. He has a great read on employers and candidates and will not send you anywhere that he does not truly believe will be successful for both parties. I remember this guy, David, who used to be my recruiter from the Alan J. Blair days. What should that tell you, first off? One of the worst recruiting agencies in SF ever. David never was able to place me in years I'd been registered there. (He said he'd have difficulty placing someone with a lot of "temp" on their resume--I didn't have much then.) I found out he'd founded his own firm and decided to try him again here. (This was years ago.) Big mistake. When you see someone's colors don't ever think he'll change. He met me once in his office and said he'd call with opportunities. That was also a load of bull just like at AJB. Another year or two rolls around and I decided to contact him yet again because he has jobs posted on the web. So, he chats all nice and friendly on the phone, I send him my resume, and he writes, "Maybe I'll have better luck this time placing you!" What the hell does this mean from some so-called "recruiting veteran"? You think you "might" have better luck placing me this time? Why would that be? I know lip service when I hear it. He is the worst, egotistical, shallow, non-caring recruiter I've ever met and I'll be sure to not recommend him anywhere whether it be for a business or to friends looking for work. He will never call you and just let you drop off the radar. Ruby Peak is synonymous with = No results, ever. Yes, Ruby Peak is surley the shiznit. Funny how the 5 star positive reviews ALL practically begin with the same sentence. Gee I wonder if they are all written by the same person ? Hmmm. That's what I love about Yelp - it's so reliable. Just write a positive review about yourself, then go to your competitor's reviews and write a negative review. Accountability? You decide. I've emailed them my resume and never heard back. I called in (got sick of waiting) and was told that they will call me in for an interview only if a suitable role become available for me. Given that their focus of job placement is administrative ( I have around 2.5 yr-admin experience in the finance industry), I don't really understand how they have nothing available whatsoever for someone with my experience and background. Having said that, I've come to accept that I probably wasn't their ideal candidate. However, I do consider it hugely unprofessional and rude that they couldn't be bothered to return my emails. A simple two line email reply to the effect "We do not think Ruby Peak is the right agency for your needs" would have prevented the waste of my time. read more

I received a call from a female at Ruby Peak Recruiting for a position I had applied for online. I wasted $10 dollars getting there and getting back, just to be told by David that I should be patient. I personally believe I have an awesome resume with outstanding experience, and unfortunately, I never received a call back regarding anything. Note 10/24/14 Erin is no longer with Ruby Peak. I found this agency to be very professional. My recruiter was Erin Graffius. She was very precise and to the point, basically no extra fluff and no special promises. When I first signed up I did not get submitted for many leads but later on I received many leads for job opportunities from Erin. I think what people have to keep in mind is that every company has different job opportunities that arise at different times. Not all job leads would match their background and skill set. I personally would rather be matched up with a company that I know I could succeed at AND it would be a culture fit. Too many agencies in the past that I dealt with would submit me to just any job. I would go out to the company and it would be a waste of time as it was just not a fit. Erin is an expert with matching candidates to her client companies. She was always responsive and I felt she looked out for the best interest of the candidates as well as her clients. Just because you did not get a job or even get submitted does not mean that the recruiter is not good. There are many qualified job seekers out there these days. Perhaps one needs to revamp their resume to cater to the recruiting agencies clients' needs in order to spark an interest and land an interview (just my two cents). I ultimately accepted a full time offer direct with a company but my experience with Ruby Peak was GREAT. I also appreciated the temporary job opportunities I had with Ruby Peak while in search of the perfect job. Which I now have =) read more

I have used Ruby Peak's placement services twice now in the past 8 months, and want to give them a raving review. When I moved here from the East Coast 8 months ago, I found them through Craigslist and when in for an in-person meeting with David Goldman. He got me a month long temp job at a great company in the city. It was the perfect fit for that point in time. After trying out a few other opportunities (not through David) after that initial temp job with him, I ended up back with David again, seeking his help - and regretting leaving that first job where he placed me. As a newbie to the Bay Area, I found all of David's advice, job counsel, and even feedback about this area to be honest and accurate (unfortunately, it came after bad experience following other recruiter situations). During my most recent search with him, he gave me interviews at a few different companies that were highly respectable and for solid jobs. He always has fought for me. I can tell he did his absolute best to get me into interviews for great jobs, then would fight on my behalf to help place me there. Since moving here I have worked with a large number of recruiters in the area (15+), more than I can even count, but David Goldman and his team stand out as the cream of the crop. Yesterday was my first day interviewing in a San Fran recruitment office. I have recently moved here from the East Coast and have a more legal background. The market being what it is, I thought it was time to market myself via a recruitment agency. I interviewed with premier staffing that same day. Comparatively speaking, I think Ruby Peak is more personable, devotes more time to the client instead of a more conveyor belt approach of their competitors, but I am waiting to see which one comes through in terms of their follow up.
