The service was great sitting at the bar. Low lights and the decor was great, reminded me of a speakeasy. The steak was great and the lobster rice was delish! The garlic rice was a little sticky so 6/10 but the flavor was great and the calamari 10/10, ask for the chili sauce! The lychee martini was too sweet for my liking but overall would recommend.
We reserved and went on our anniversary and loved everything about this place! It's upscale Chinese food with a few experimental changes that work really well. We had to pay for valet parking. The outside dining area didn't seem open but still looked amazingly cute. The entrance was hard to find but once we got in, the decor looked stunning. Everything tasted really good even with the higher than usual prices. Service was awesome and were super kind on our big celebratory day. Highly recommend the lobster fried rice and the mango sticky rice. I literally started tearing up after my first bite of the mango sticky rice because of how perfect it was in texture, flavor profile, literally everything! Chinese approved!!!
Too dimly-lit IMO, but I really enjoyed the food. I would come back for the five spice tofu and sweet potato fries all day. I love the crunchy, irregular coating and soft, purple center of the fries. The tofu is well-seasoned and a great protein option for those of us that don't eat meat. I also tried the green beans and they're a great side option. Lots of garlic.
I am between 4 and 5 stars for Ruby Chow's but I'm going with 4 stars due to the overall value. The food here is absolutely incredible. We did not have a single bad dish. The bone marrow was outstanding, as was the bang bang shrimp - I'm still thinking about it after leaving - and the crying tiger. We did medium rare for the crying tiger and it was cooked to perfection and melted in your mouth with a phenomenal sauce to go on it. All that being said, the dishes were all very small and pricey. The plates that are called "shareable" are really a normal sized dish for only one person so come here expecting to pay a decent amount if you want to leave full. The overall decor of the place is very cute. There's flowers painted on the walls and it seems like a classy spot. There's indoor and outdoor seating, as well as bar seating and it was not super crowded for a Saturday evening.
Sat at the bar for happy hour at Ruby Chow's and had a wonderful experience. Our drinks were delicious and everything we ordered for food was yummy. We ended with the kimchi fried rice and omg- the flavor! Service was impeccable. Our food and drinks came out so quickly. The restaurant itself is beautiful and cozy. I made a reservation for Ruby Chow's based the reviews for my niece's birthday. Overall, we really enjoyed it. The restaurant is beautiful, red velvet curtains, baroque flowered wallpaper. The service was excellent. They have a very nice wine, cocktail, and mocktail list. I had the purple rain, light and bubbly. My friend enjoyed her gingery King's Ransom. The menu is Chinese and Asian fusion, and a short list of sushi. Chinese is always meant to be shared. We had the miso truffle salmon and each of the steam buns to start. I thought the salmon was very good, I do not normally like capers, but liked the way they prepared them. The katsu was probably the best of the buns, nicely crispy. The tofu was good a well, with a nice kick, the young one in our group found it too spicy. I would not order the short rib again, it was fine, but I've had much better short rib. We then had the chicken satay, roti canai, and the miso cod. The chicken satay had good flavor, and paired well with the peanut sauce and pickles. I did find it a bit too fatty. The miso cod was perfectly cooked, and the flavor was just right. Note that it is a very small portion. The best dish was the roti, a yellow curry with chicken and veggies with two flaky peice of roti. So good. The star of the meal though was the mango sticky rice, with sorbet and small bits of mochi. This is one of the best versions I've ever had. Do not miss this dessert! The issue I had with our visit is we, a group of three, were seated by the door, which was also near the kitchen door. The seating felt cramped, and every few minutes one of the doors was slamming, which made it a less pleasant experience. There were also several other tables open that we could have been seated at instead.
Had a girls night here on a weekday. Parking is street parking or valet parking. When you walk in, it is nice and quaint and there is seating downstairs and then if you walk upstairs, there is more seating. Had a sushi roll, some nigiri, and a soup. The service was good and the waitress made some good suggestions. She was attentive to our needs as well. I would definitely be back.
The brussel sprouts were good. Everything else was average to me. The portions are small for the price. Even the family-sized spicy pork noodles were a small cup size worth of food. Make sure you order rice with your dishes. Some of the family plates come with rice, but most don't. The service was amazing, our server was so patient and kind. She was great! I was pleasantly surprised and really enjoyed this place for dinner! We made a dinner reservation for two seats at the bar. I actually got a text about 30 mins before our reservation that our table is ready, which worked out perfectly because we were just waiting around anyway. We were seated right away upon checking in. Our server/bartender greeted us right away and informed us of they still have happy hour until 7 pm. We grabbed a few items from their happy hour menu - bang bang shrimp (only 3 pieces for $8 but they were nice big pieces) and purple sweet potato fries (my favorite of the night. Battered with tempura, covered with salty and was so good)! We ordered additional items - calamari (it was nicely cooked and soft), katsu bun (my hubby's favorite as the bun was soft and the pork was thinly pounded and crispy from the breading, pork kimchi fried rice (I opted for no egg. Had tons of pork pieces but really no kimchi flavor and was definitely on the sweeter side) and green beans (nicely cooked with bits of char with a sweet sauce). Their must-get drink though is the Thai tea martini! And for dessert we ordered additional items mango sticky rice. The rice could have been cooked a little longer but loved the mango sorbet and coconut cream it came with. We really enjoyed everything and looking forward to the next time we come back.
Ruby Chow's is always 10's across the board! Tried a number of dishes and not a single one disappointed. The ambiance is always beautiful. Seating is comfortable. Bar options are also great. Our waiter was also so kind and gave us great service!
I loved this place. Such a vibe in the heart of OFW. Really great service. Welcoming feel. The food was incredible. It's like an Asian fusion tapas bar. Cocktails were great. Everything we had was wonderful. I didn't get any photos of the food tho because I was too busy scarfing it down. The green beans, the bao buns, the curry.. 10 out of mf 10. Definitely a good date night, night with friends, or if you're trying to show off the ATL food scene.
Ok this was amazing! I've been needing to get here for so long, and I'm so happy we finally did. The cocktails were amazing, and all the food was perfect. Ruby Chow's is asian-fusion tapas style, so you should come prepared to share and try lots of different dishes! Highlights for me were the Pork Belly & Grits and Brussels Sprouts! Parking is valet for $5, but the lot was full on a Friday, so we just found street parking around the corner! You also could pay to park at ponce if you wanted! Uber would be ideal. The bar is gorgeous, but definitely get a reservation!! It's great for a drink and tapas, but you can't just walk up to get a spot at the bar!! It's highly popular!!
Returned for another try. Sat at the bar as we had no reservations and it was packed. Service was fast and attentive. Food came out incredibly quickly. Katsu bao (4/5): good seasoning, fluffy bun, could use a bit more slaw/crunch Maitake mushroom (5/5): crispy and fried but not greasy, good serving size and well seasoned Scallops (3/5): three scallops that are over salted and nondescript sauce/mushrooms Squash soup: (4/5) corn soup was out. Super creamy and savory with some nice crunch from nuts and a tinge of acid. Shaking beef (3.5/5): it's literally just a deconstructed burger. The meat is nice but the rest of it is just straight up unseasoned raw lettuce, onion, and tomato. Mango sticky rice (5/5): probably the best thing I've had here so far. Rice is PROPERLY sticky, mango sorbet has a good balance of sweetness, the mochi bits are fun, and there's still actual mango. Massive serving size compared to all the other tapa sized plates here.
Love love LOVED the ambience of this place. We had such a good experience! They set up huge dividers between each table. I really liked this concept because it felt like you were sitting in a restaurant pre-covid. The staff was also very pleasant. I ordered the shayo tomago and fell in LOVE. The egg was nice and soft, the rice was well cooked and crispy. All the flavors and textures really complemented one another and I would definitely recommend this to everyone! The vegetarian General Tso's chicken was soft and juicy and was bursting with flavor. The cacio e pepe was definitely interesting, it was really cheesy and peppery which was a different take from the rest of the Asian inspired dishes. The crispy vegetable rolls were just as one would expect and they came with a nice dipping sauce. Pretty solid choice! read more
I was a fan of Ruby Chow's and I thought the overall food, service, and concept was awesome. I'm a big fan of Asian small plates eaten family style and I thought that the value was fair. Duck buns: Delicious, enjoyed the duck very much. Wish the skin was crispy myself but oh well. Katsu bun: Ate well, wasn't dry like I was afraid it might be. Enjoyed the slaw. Short rib wrap: Was a bit tough to eat but overall, loved the flavors. Kimchi was nice. Shrimp: I thought was well done but wish there was a few more shrimp. Not great value. Chicken Chunk: I thought this dish was great, basically small fried chicken pieces with mayo. I kind of wish that this was served more as a Taiwanese popcorn chicken instead (I think that's a little better) but this was still flavorful. Chopped Yellowtail Collar: I enjoyed but ate a little dry; was a little hard to dip with the sauce. Still tasty though and cooked well. Char siu: Wasn't a huge fan of this, the char siu was sort of mediocre relatively speaking. Would have preferred it to be a little sweeter, smaller cut slices, and more char on it. Overall, a good experience at Ruby Chow's and I would go back. Expect to pay about $30-40 pp when sharing family style. The overall service and setup for covid was also nice (small walled off spaces in between each table). read more

The cutest Asian inspired restaurant. Tucked into old fourth ward across from Ponce market you'd barely notice they're there but once you're inside you're captivated by the decor and smells! We did not have a reservation which we lucked and were able to be seated in 20 min. The service was stellar, drinks were good, food was fresh and full of flavor. The pork cutlet and Cacio Pepe is a MUST Try. I still dream about it! You won't regret making this spot your next date night stop! read more
This place is amazing. Everything from the attentive service to the Covid precautions taken was outstanding. I would come back here every weekend. We booked a table at 5:30 pm in an outdoor bubble. It felt very safe. Every item we ordered was great and cooked to perfection. My husbands favorite was the bone marrow and shoya tamago. I loved the roti canai and the green tea and earl grey panna cota. The least memorable item we ordered were the green beans. They could have used a bit more flavor and weren't spicy (like the description states). Overall, this restaurant is great and would highly recommend reserving a table here. read more

We were visiting Atlanta and were pretty much winging it. One of our Uber drivers recommended the area and we picked Ruby Chow's because they were opened the latest on a Saturday. A lot of restaurants seemed to close early even on Friday or Saturday, but this place is open until 11pm. Ruby Chow's did not disappoint! Great ambience, amazing food, fantastic service!! We sat at the bar and Ashley was just top notch. She had great recommendations for food, made the best drinks (get the GBS, it's amazing, especially if you like ginger)! The food was fantastic. All very flavorful and just the right portions to try a variety of things. We enjoyed the lion's head meatballs, shaking beef, General Tso's chicken, and the spicy pork noodles. The roti canal also looked amazing, but we were saving room for dessert, which was mango sticky rice and pot au crème with salted caramel ice cream. I'd definitely recommend Ruby Chow's and would come here again the next time we're in Atlanta. read more
Love love this place! I went with some friends for the first time on a Monday night after intending to go since they've been opened. We arrived and pulled around the back for valet, but there's also street parking as available. We walked through the courtyard to the restaurant and was seated immediately. We all ordered drinks and various tapas. For drinks, I tried the empress, which I loved. And for tapas, I got the shaking beef, market greens (broccolini), and General Tso's chicken. In later visits, I've also tried the cacio e pepe and pow pow shrimp. Literally everything I've had here has been amazing! And the service is stellar! One time we even got to try free drinks. I absolutely love Ruby Chow's and will continue to be a patron here. read more

This place is very cute and constantly busy. Definitely make sure to book a reservation. The service is great! Everyone was very attentive and sweet. The food was ok, there were some dishes that were good and some others that were lacking in flavor. Definitely get the buns! Best item on the menu! The drinks were great but SUPER small. You get about three sips and it's GONE! Make sure to tell them light ice. Overall cute place with good atmosphere and vibes. read more

Somehow I've been to Ruby Chow's for dinner twice now before getting the chance to write a review! First and foremost. You need to come to Ruby Chow's for their modern Chinese/Asian food! ARRIVAL: Valet parking in the parking garage, at the end of the driveway behind the restaurant and validate before you leave. Both times we came here without a reservation, the first time we waited about 20 mins for a table and the second there was room at the bar, so we chose eat there which is still great. MENU: Most items are smaller plates for sharing. Baos should be ordered 1/person unless you're REALLY good at sharing. FOOD: We ordered the pork belly with grits, scallops, pow pow shrimp, roti, chicken chunk, shoyu tomago, katsu and duck baos. Favorites were definitely the pork belly and grits, shoyu tomago with crispy rice, and the baos. The scallops came out over-seared and near burnt so we didn't get them the second time. We also ordered double katsu bao on our return trip. The shoyu tomago is simple, but delicious with the crispy rice, you want more but i think sharing 1 between two people is enough because it's rich. the pork belly could be just a tick more tender both times, but the grits are creamy, rich and delicious. I will probably order this every single time. DRINKS: Soapberry; super tasty!!! Light and fresh. DESSERT: Mango sticky rice and pot de creme. Mango sticky rice is a big portion. The mochi was fresh and everything together wasn't overly sweet. It was a very tasty way to end the meal and I haven't had a mango sticky rice in a long time. The pot de creme was very rich and chocolatey, but dark. Sweeter than the mango sticky rice but not overly sweet. Would get the sticky rice again. SERVICE: Colton's service at the bar has always been fantastic. He's balancing drinks with food orders, chatting with the people at the bar, checking in on you if you're eating at the bar, and at times even running food. The man really cares about his craft and it shows. He has food and drink suggestions for everyone based on what you like! The servers have always been great and food comes out very quickly. EXPERIENCE: I have a great meal every time. The food is consistently good and it's super cozy inside though it can get loud at times. OVERALL: Excited to bring friends here to eat when visiting Atlanta! The food and drinks are great for a super reasonable price. It's holding a top spot on the list of last minute dinner options and i'm not mad about it. read more

My regular order is the lobster fried rice. It NEVER disappoints. Seriously, if you want some sushi with flavor-- treat your tastebuds to this. Honorable mentions: Lobster roll, orange roll, celebrity roll. All the sushi is really good. Dumplings and beef salad are tasty too. The team is dope too! We were visiting from out of town for a friend's birthday and she insisted that we all try Ruby Chow's. We were only able to get a 9 pm reservation but I'm sure glad that we were able to try it!! The dishes here were so innovative and delicious in every bite. We started off with cocktails and I had the Zona Rosa. The inclusion of the Serrano peppers accented the mezcal in this drink wonderfully. It was delicious! Everyone in our group loved their drinks. We ordered a mix of different plates to share. Some highlights were: roti prata and the Cacio e Pepe. The roti prata dipping sauce was sooo creamy and rich and the prata itself was flavorful and pillowy soft. The Cacio e Pepe was what I was most excited to try. I loved the idea of using ramen noodles as the base of this dish, the cheese and pepper cling to the noodles perfectly, making this a fantastic, must-try dish. This was a phenomenal dining experience. They do accept reservations but they fill up fast and be mindful that there is a 90 minute cap for reservation tables. The servings are perfect for a family or tapas style meal. I really enjoyed the Brussels sprouts, scallops, and clams. I really appreciated the Asian flavors with these dishes that are typically served with just butter and pepper. My favorite drink was the soi cowboy - a subtle and sweet cocktail. read more
This was a meal experience I won't forget. We tried at least 10 different small plates, and I eventually stopped asking what everything was and just eating it because it was all 10/10 amazing. The coconut corn soup was the BEST soup I've ever had. The bang shrimp was a hit as well, along with the General Tso's chicken. There was nothing I tried that I did not like. The cacio e Pepe was an unexpected menu item that we LOVED. The interior of the restaurant is luxurious and beautiful, with lots of photo opportunities if you're into that. Loved our dinner here last week! We came in on Wednesday around 6pm. They have validated valet parking which is $3 if you get it validated. We didn't make a reservation and were seated right away. The menu is kinda tapas style, but we actually each just ordered our own noodle dishes. I wanted the bao as well, but they said they were not serving it sadly. The drinks all looked amazing as well, but we just stuck with our entrees. I got the cacio e pepe with the pork cutlet. My friend got the pork kimchi noodles. Our food came out quickly! The cacio e pepe was too too good! So cheesy! And a large portion! I brought half home. My friend also loved her noodles! A super cool place! read more

I met up with a couple of my girl friends who I haven't seen in a while here at Ruby Chow's. It was recommended by one of them and I'm so happy we met here! The food was delicious and not your typical Chinese food. They were more like tapas to share which was perfect cause I was able to try a bunch of other things. The inside was a little cramped but the ambience was still nice. We did sit outside for a more open space which ended up being good cause it was a nice day. Came here for dinner on Saturday. Sat at the bar, and the service was excellent. Staff seemed to really care that we enjoyed our food and were well taken care of. Rundown of what we ordered: 1. Pow pow shrimp: Really yummy, but wouldn't recommend on the basis that it's quite overpriced. $12 for 4 pieces of shrimp (3/5) 2. Cacio e pepe: Fun twist to use ramen noodles but sauce itself was a little heavy. Difficult to finish the whole thing. (3/5) 3. Crab BLT: We ordered without bacon. Sooo good. (4.5/5) 4. TLDR: cool food creations and A+++ service Ruby chow's is a cool spot for Asian fusion food and they do creative twists on good ole classics. For drinks, we got the Okinawa sunrise (vodka, sake, elderflower, lemon, and lemon) and it was pretty solid! It's not every day you have vodka and sake together and Ruby Chow's did it right. In terms of food, we also tried the shoyu tamago (soft boiled egg on top of crispy rice) which was also good! The crispy rice provides a nice textural contrast to the egg. Other favorites from the night were the katsu steamed bun and the green beans (would recommend). The bone marrow was honestly a bit disappointing (not that much bone marrow in there) and the kimchi rice was good but the rice texture was just a biiiiiiit off (still tasty tho). The wontons were also good but I wouldn't go out of my way to get those here! There are some other, more unique items I would opt for! Also, our server was awesome sauce - she was so fun and attentive throughout the night!! read more

What's the vibe? Casual? Dressy? I could easier this place as having some sort of themed dress code?
I think the vibe is cool, casual, cute, but not sloppy. Like jeans are cool but I probably wouldn't show up in yoga pants.
How's the parking situation? Is a deck, a lot, or street? Do i have to pay?
