Very efficient restaurant. The service is excellent and the workers are very helpful and polite. I visited on 1/10/2026 for dinner. My mom and I always love their fish tacos. There was an upset customer while my mom and I was waiting for our order however the restaurant cashier was very kind, respectful and professional towards the upset customer even though the customer was very rude towards her, all for a missing guacamole. The customer slammed the door and was yelling at the cashier who was trying to help. Instead of politely asking about the missing guacamole, she made a seen. It was very immature and distasteful. I felt bad for the owner and cashier who was trying to fix the problem. In the end she stormed out and told everyone in the restaurant that she reporting this outrageous incident of missing guacamole. My mom and I got our food. Everything was packaged nicely and it was delicious. I recommend this place. They are very professional and try to do their best. Again I feel bad for the lady and owner who was working this shift. I've been to 2 locations in one week and although the shrimp tacos and salad I got were good..I couldn't get past the smell of cleaning supplies on the in and around my takeout. It's so weird and hard to explain. I thought it was a one off the first time I went then I hit the one on Guadalupe and there was the smell again! I smelled it when I walked in and then I got home to eat and I started to taste it. The Taco Tuesday special is really good. However it's only three types on special, Chicken, Steak and Original Fish. You can order a Fish Especial with guacamole and pico sauce for 29 cent more. Food, service, restrooms were clean as always. However, I have to agree with other reviewers: it seems all of the tables are sticky. It's as if there is some type of melting stain or varnish on them. I tried three tables before another patron said, "Yep. They're all like that." Sticking your forearms to the table, or having your plate, cell phone, and keys stick to the table is undesirable. Seems like it would be an easy fix. Either wear long sleeves and bring a placemat with you when you go, eat outside, or take it to go until they address the issue. read more

I was really pleased with the upgrades and the new look of Rubios. Not that it was a problem before but the changes made the place more of a date place. Does that make sense? I was hungry so I wanted something quick. I also was craving salmon. I like burritos. Boom. Rubio's fit the bill for lunch. Their salmon burrito is made with wild Coho (Silver) salmon which was even better since I tend to like wild salmon over the farm raised stuff. It wasn't too busy here around lunchtime on a weekday. Perhaps it was because it's fall break here apparently so there was no lunchtime rush of students. It's been forever since I had something at Rubio's but the menu is pretty much the same, with various seafood options and chicken for your taco, burrito, bowl or quesadilla. I got my order to go. While you wait for your meal there's a nice little salsa bar with various spice levels and a few different salsas in a bottle. I got a little of the mild, hot, and jalapeno citrus salsas. Something I wasn't aware of until I glanced more closely at the menu was that if your meal comes with a side, you have the option of either chips or fresh greens. The cashier neglected to ask me and inputted chips as my side. Hey, I want my greens! It was an easy enough fix though but in the future if the cashiers could ask which side you want instead of automatically assuming you want chips it would clear up any further adjustments in orders. The salmon burrito was as expected. I liked the salmon, and in general I like burritos. Do I like both together? Hm, still not sure about that one, or at least I'm not sure about the version they serve here. The filling consisted mainly of rice, a little bit of cabbage, and a decent amount of guac stuffed to the edge of the burrito. The fresh greens were, well, fresh greens. It was a simple pile of lettuce with a small container of citrusy dressing. Theoretically it's a healthier option than getting the chips and the dressing tasted alright. The cost? Around $10. They never skimp on the portion size. Love the salsa bar inside and I always get some Tomatillo sauce for my bowl. The Mahi Mahi taco I had and shared a picture of was tasty Iwould order this again and recommend it too, but the price seems kinda high for just one taco. The Salmon taco, another pic was loaded, tasted fishy which is NOT ideal. Son had a burrito and since he was opposed to dining here he is not giving it a fair review. He said "it was food". Paying almost $4.00 for a single taco wouldn't you think they would give you chips? Nope, gotta charge for those too. Rubio's is a fantastic lunch option. My favorite thing is the ancho shrimp burrito. The burrito has a good sized portion of shrimp and the flavors mix together very well. I also like the fish tacos and the steak burrito. No matter what you order, the salsa bar is great and has options for everyone.
