It also tasted like pinto bean. I probably should have added more of the green sauce. The burrito and green sauce tasted as one would expect. The red sauce was too spicy for me. I love Someburro's so when I'm in the Chandler area, this location is a common stop for me. I love the interior feel, it almost feels like you're dining on a patio. Service is great and food comes out quick. This is what I love about Someburro's. Your food brought out to your table. A good mix of the fast food mixed with sit down dining experience. My only complaint about this location, which very well might not be the featuring fault, is that the exterior always has a foul odor like gas or sewer. We just went into the restaurant to pick up a $672 order for a birthday party we are hosting. We requested assistance to verify each of the items we ordered and paid for were available. The manager was extremely un helpful with an unappreciated attitude. I walked out of the restaurant very frustrated with the poor service I received. I am not sure why I should have had a low expectation for being service when requesting assistance to verify a large order. SomeBurros has declined in quality of food and customer service the past few years. Tonight, they totally blew it! I called a couple days ago to make sure they were open Christmas Eve and I was told they close at 6pm. I went at 3pm and they told me that they were only doing platters after 2pm. However, the order girl couldn't get the order right and told us to pull up to the window to order. So we did and it turns out she started helping someone else who had come in after us despite us waiting to give her the order. Her attitude was pissed and flip despite us trying to work with her. All I have to say is DO NOT go to this location! *UPDATE AUG 31ST 2025* After last times complaint, the manager contacted me offering $15 voucher if I came back. I have been going here since i was a kid and always love their simple bean and cheese burritos! I crave them often and every time i get it recently they are a tortilla with some beans in it and tons of cheese. Also, crisped to where it cuts your mouth when you eat it. If you are a native of the Valley like me, then you grew up eating at Poncho's Mexican Food. I remember fighting with my siblings over that basket of sopapillas. The Vasquez family (longtime owners of Poncho's) opened the first Someburro's in 1986. We now have several of these family-owned, fast-casual restaurants all over the Valley. They specifically cater to young families on a budget. If you follow my check-ins on Yelp, you know I stop at Someburros' quite often. I constantly have cravings for some chips and that bottle of yummy hot sauce. Their hot sauce is pretty popular and I love getting a pint of it to go whenever I stop in. Someburro's menu consists of traditional Mexican food made from family recipes from Sonora, Mexico. Their signature Pollo Fundido is my personal favorite. Another favorite of mine is their Albondigas Soup that they serve in the Fall. In addition to food, they have horchata, alcohol and churros! They keep a calendar on the wall that highlights food specials and Valley events. Taco Tuesdays, Cinco de Mayo and ASU football games are big celebration days here with special discounts on some of their food. If you are hosting a big party, Someburro's caters large platters of party-sized portions of their popular items. Your cashier, named Noah, tells me to pull up front. I was the only one in the drive-thru, but I did what he asked. What really makes me upset is that I waited for 15 minutes for my order, and no one came out. I'm thinking, okay, maybe they forgot. I got Noah again, and he asked, "Can I help you?" I told him I was in the drive-thru and that he told me to park in space 1. He said they were working on the other burrito. I canceled my order. I get that you're busy with people ordering ahead, but what would be considerate is to let your customers know that you're behind. Ok. I've been enjoying Someburros for years and years. I first walked in and there was a line with only 1 cashier on a Saturday afternoon. I ordered my food and the cashier was having her own separate conversation with the manager about nothing having to do with my order. She forgot my hot sauce and I said excuse don't I get hot sauce oh yeah with an attitude. And then this is the enchiladas that I ordered! Disgusting! I couldn't even chew it. I choked twice because the cheese is so thick and it doesn't melt! So I assume that this is cheap cheese!!!! It was like chewing gum! I would love for the managers/Owners to try this and see if it's too much for them. And then to top it off the chips were stale. Ok. On the surface this started out looking promising. The stats need catagories... since there are none, I have to average my own categories and ratings... I rounded up in this case... In my standard fashion let me get the good out first... Staff.... friendly, helpful, polite and engaged fir the most part. The young gal who took my order appeared new but she was doing a good job all around. The shop appeared clean and well kept. Staff were quick to clean up and return a dirty table to service ready condition. Ok.... now the balance. Here's what I ordered: Carne Asada Burrito with the rice and beans on the side The Mini Chimis with Guacamole. The meal came with a bottle of salsa/hot sauce and boat of tortilla chips. My review: Carne Adada Burrito had a nice flavorful taste but the actual Carne Asada was dry-ish... the Burrito had been over warmed and was dried and on the verge of cracking as I handled it. Guacamole.... WTH did I put in my mouth?!?! I put a little on my mini chimi and added a touch of salsa... took a bite and immediately had an off taste... broke it all down and realized it was the guac... it had an aged and perhaps on the verge of turning bad taste followed by a way off after taste... ish Mini chimi was the beef variety from house shredded beef... on their own, like the Carne Asada, the taste was ok but the shredded beef was super dry and had been made drier from the deep frying. The tortilla was tasty. Chips and salsa.... damn, I really wanted to like this all.... the chips were like semi stale pieces of cereal box crunchiness... the salsa seriously was pretty good but reminded me more of a hopped up spicy Italian pizza sauce as opposed to a legit salsa... All said... I'll give it an A- for effort (largely due to staff and cleanliness) and a solid D-.... ergo 2 stars and I'm being generous... that's a 1.66666 and rounded up. So here it is on a mid morning on a Friday and we had to take care of some business at the Chandler Fashion Center. So we had some time to spare before we return to pick up my wife's cell phone. I asked my wife if she wanted to have lunch, and she said sure. I remembered there was a Someburros nearby plus it had been a very long time since I had eaten at a Someburros. So we drove over to the area I remembered where this Someburros restaurant was located, and sure enough I found it. We walked in, and over to the order counter. I ordered the red chile burro and my wife ordered the green chile burro. They gave us a number, went and sat down to wait for our food. The drinks you have to fill yourself. Our orders were ready quite quickly as a matter of fact. I finished everything on my plate. My wife almost finished hers as well, and I have to admit I had a hard time finishing mine. My first experience with Someburros was with their restaurant in Tempe. They used to only have two of them. The one in Tempe and one in Gilbert. Needless to say my tummy was happy. Now I have to say this, I have been meaning to visit this restaurant for a while, I was never nearby to eat here or had to come this direction of the Valley. Their food has always been consistent as far as I can remember and I have only been a customer, off and on for many years. Next time we stop by here I will have to try something different just to rejuvenate my taste buds! read more

Ate there tonight 10/4/22 with my granddaughter at about 5:15. They have my receipt. First the good: her carne asada burro was excellent, and my verde tostada was excellent. Now for the bad: a runt-sized bean burrito that was also prepared badly. they use a gummy flour tortilla made to quickly cook (toast) on the grill. My granddaughter's carne asada burro was lightly toasted on the grill, but not this runt bean burro. it was a huge gummy tortilla, with very little beans on it, and the beans themselves were thick, pasty, and tasteless. i had cut just a small section off the end of the bean burro, but that small piece made it look like I'd eaten half the burro. They could have and should have apologized and made good on it right away. i didn't want it replaced with another bean burro because the beans were so awful. So I said to give me a green burro and I'd pay the difference in price. What they brought out was another gummy burro, this time a truly miniature green burro, mini-chimi sized. It was so insulting and then their employee argued with me about it, insinuating I had eaten half of the other burro. I gave them the opportunity to correct the situation or receive a bad review that would make their teeth chatter. They opted for the bad review. They also kept my receipt. I always enjoy visiting when this is our selected lunch outing! It really is a great, family run establishment with an outstanding menu & selection! The inside is always cleanly & welcoming. Easy to navigate & spacious. I just wish the menu board wasn't awkwardly placed on the BACK wall of the register area. If you are towards the window in the line to order, you cannot see but only half of the menu. Which is why it takes a bit longer to order when it's busy- most don't know what they want because they can't see the menu well until you actually get up to the register, if you want to keep a place in line! I would suggest they replace the food photos on the wall there with a smaller menu for those standing in line. My co-worker turned me on to the pollo fundido- it does NOT disappoint! In fact, I rarely order anything else now. Plentiful portions. Cooked to perfection, with a generous side of rice, lettuce, tomato, etc. and the prices are fitting for the dishes offered. With a drink added in, its only about $10 or less for a full lunch! Plus, the complimentary chips & salsa really hits the spot while waiting for your entree! And I have to give them credit for a GREAT salsa! I generally cannot taste "spicy"... but it has a good kick! Not overwhelming but great flavor & a bit of spice/heat. While I call it "mild" for my taste buds- it probably registers as a "medium" for normal folk. Lol. The drink station is also fully loaded with everything you need.
