Interesting food selection. I ordered the fish taco combo with cheese and guacamole. I was with a part of Five so we ordered different items. The taco had a delicious tangy flavor very unusual and mouthwatering. The steak fries were good but nothing special. But it made a nice compliment to the taco plate. Overall a good dining experience. Run! Do not walk if you've never tried Rubios. I haven't been able to look at Chipotle the same since first going to this place. I went for the lobster bowl since my sister raves about it and it seems to be limited time offering. OMG!! I got so sad when my bowl was empty. This bowl is absolutely delicious. I had to leave off the chipotle white sauce since I can't have milk, but the main attraction is the garlic butter they give you to go on top. Absolutely mouthwatering, so I don't think I missed out on much by not adding the sauce, though I'm sure it makes it that much better. I'm actually on my way there again now. We were out shopping and my guy was getting a little hangry, so I hustled down Sunset in search of something we would all enjoy. I saw Rubio's and whipped my truck in. Boy, I'm so glad I stopped here. The cashier welcomed us and waited as we made up our minds on the menu. We were first timers and had several menu questions, the cashier was very patient and assured us that she was ready when we were. After paying for our meal, we took a number and found a table. They have a salsa bar, so we got our salsa and sat down. Our food was on the table in about 10 minutes. I had the Burrito Especial with Impossible meat... yummy, yum, yum was it good. I had to do a double-take at my Burrito to make sure it wasn't real meat, that's just how delicious it was. My son had the kids quesadilla, and my spouse had the Burrito Especial with chicken. My burrito came with a side salad; the salad dressing was so delicious I'm going back just to see if they will let me buy dressing for my homemade salads. Overall, our food was tasty and everyone was very satisfied. Reasonable prices, clean restaurant, and friendly staff. We will definitely return. Recommend! read more

A little over a week ago, I placed an order for three items. One of the items was a dish I have ordered a few times before with salmon, so I thought I would try the Mexican Street Corn Bowl with USDA Choice Steak this time. The photos I've posted are exactly what it looked like when it arrived. What a mess. And can anyone see any steak in the photos? Does this look like it's worth $16.86? I called immediately and spoke with the manager. She agreed to let me re-order another time BUT I only had two days to do this before the restaurant transitioned to a franchise. Whatever that means. I didn't have an opportunity to place that order within two days so I lost my re-order option, although GrubHub is supposed to be returning my money for that dish in full. I have not seen that in my bank account yet There's a huge problem with the particular Cook/chef who prepared this $60 order. And a problem with quality control in general. I'm disappointed because my other orders have always been successful and yummy, but this has soured me on placing orders with this particular restaurant. Move over chipotle, Rubio's is serving high quality Mexican food with fair portion sizing. You truly can't go wrong with anything on the menu in my opinion, all entrees are made with super fresh ingredients and seasoned well. I particularly like their fried fish tacos and shrimp burritos. Visited the store today. Second time in the last several months. This visit the food wasn't as good as it had been. "The California bowl" with wild caught Maui has always been kind of a throw together bowl. They did something to it besides making the portions small. The food was just not good. The cabbage that they shred in the bowl it's just not good. Ordered two bowls, one without protein, a chip and a bean and it cost $46 and we did not finish our bowls. Very long wait to order. Restaurant didn't seem that busy. After finally ordering person who ordered after me was given a free drink for the long wait but I was not given a free drink. Then a very long wait to receive my food while others who ordered after me received their food before me. I only ordered three fish tacos and a drink that I didn't get for free while others did. I don't usually review fast food or quick service, but I had a great experience at this location :) I called at 8:30pm to place an order over the phone because I didn't want to come in right before they closed and be "that guest". The girl on the phone sounded so unbothered and sweet. At the end I said I hadn't been in since Covid so I'm not sure the salsa policy but I want the green salsa and the brown colored one. When I got there I paid in cash with change, she didn't mind. Told me my food would be up shortly and I said absolutely no rush. It was out within a few minutes with my salsas on the side. I feel like usually at the end of the restaurant day you usually get poor quality or end of day leftovers, but look how green my avocado is, that is fresh! I was so excited. I received a birthday coupon for a buy one get one free entree this month. I had not been here in a while due to the ever rising prices, and was glad to place a pick-up order today. I was greeted upon arrival and the food was ready. I got a lobster burrito for the hubby he will have tonight. I had an impossible quesadilla with all the fixin's on the side. It was just as good as I remembered. The black beans were a bit lacking in flavor, and the guac and sour cream containers that came with the quesadilla were super tiny and ot enough for the whole quesadailla.
