You order at the counter then seat yourself. All the staff had British accent! We ordered the haddock fish and chips ($19.95), poutine ($10.95), and bowl of clam chowder ($7.95). We added on a side of curry sauce ($3.50) and gravy ($3.50). The menu was straight forward. The fish and chips were 10/10. One giant piece the length of the plate! The clam chowder was way too salty that I had to add lots of hot sauce and pepper. Be careful as it came out pipping hot. The poutine was not my favorite. I'm not a fan of cheese curds or the thick fries. However, the gravy was superb but wasn't hot enough to melt the cheese. I would recommend to stick with what they are known for: fish and chips! You won't be disappointed. Monday's are AYCE fish and chips for $6.50.

We ordered cod+chips+clam chowder ...fish is good, not seasoned, batter is fried well. When I went home to file the receipt away, I saw that they charged me Lunch combo for $2-3 more than à la carte, but no soft drink+side? My fault...I should have checked the bill right there at the restaurant...not honest from the establishment either!
Codfather was a solid stop, especially for the haddock. It was really good -- almost as good as what I had in Ireland, which is saying a lot. The chips were cooked well, though they were a little bland for my taste. The clam chowder, unfortunately, wasn't very good. Still, the fish was the standout, and that's enough to make me want to come back and try the cod next time.
Looks and feels like a tradtional pub in England or Ireland. Staff is friendly, patience in answering questions and welcoming. The fish is cooked to perfection - cripsy on the outside and moist in the inside. The clam chowder has bits and pieces of bacon - should have more clams. The coleslaw is tasteless - guess I am use to more flavoring. My companions enjoyed the curry sauce tremendously - said it created a much better flavor. We ordered the cod, catfish and haddock to compare - all were equally delicious. The fish and chips alone is five stars.
Decided to finally visit The Codfather to ironically celebrate Independence Day! The place was crazy popular, but we placed our order and the cashier pointed out a booth had opened up! Lucky for us - and we got the Bowie table, which was fun for us old rock and rollers. We're vegetarian and always want to support restaurants that have thoughtful dishes we can eat on their menus - so we each got the vegan fish and chips, my partner got an additional side of cole slaw. The vegan tartar sauce was a nice touch - and our server went out of the way to explain what it was made out of. We'd been wanting to eat here for ages - and I'm so glad we did!
This is probably the best fish n chips I've had in vegas. Good portion and fresh. I ordered the cod and chips. Crispy just how I like it. I suggest coming on the weekdays if you can for lunch or late lunch when it's less busy because this spot gets packed during the weekends and evenings. Also, it can take awhile, but well worth the wait. Ambiance is simple, no frills with a few added touches.
The Codfather is a good place to get Fish & Chips choose from Cod (delicate and a bit sweet) Haddock (mild taste, thicker and meatier) or Catfish (strong and sweet flavor). I like the simple menu they offer. The prices are reasonable. Nice staff and good service. Simple service - order your food and drinks at the counter and wait to be seated. We dined in for the first time and we were very pleased with the service and taste of the Fish and Chips we ordered the Haddock and Catfish. Big pieces of the Fish and portions of the hand-cut chips were perfect. The Clam Chowder was filled with delicious clams and potatoes. The Battered Sausage with Curry sauce on the side was different but good. I liked the curry sauce. I also dipped the hand-cut chips in the curry sauce that was another good one (it was something that I seen people were doing and so I did the same :) I liked that the tables had the set up of napkins and all the necessary condiments needed for such a place as The Codfather. I'm glad we stopped in we will be back.
First time here as we were in the area. I had heard some good things about this place so took advantage and tried it. We ordered the lunch specials of haddock and cod with a side of gravy and curry sauce. The haddock was the way to go, the cod was good but the haddock was crispier and meatier. The fries had a great texture and the tartar sauce was on point, it did not overwhelm the fish. I've never had fish with gravy but that gravy was tasty. The curry had a good flavor but I wasn't a fan of the fish with the curry, I preferred the gravy. Overall, good meal and for the price, you can't go wrong.

You order at the front...got the catfish & chips and it was very good - I liked how it was lightly battered....not overpowering batter like other places. Their french fries were real good too. Will definitely come back to try some other items.
I had seen the Codfather multiple times driving around Henderson, and was so glad that I got to go there yesterday. What a treat this is, especially for people that love fish and chips One thing I have to say, is they actually have British people on staff! It's always cool when you're at a fish and chips place and someone comes up and gives you your food and speaks to you with a British accent. I know that's a small thing, but for me it really adds to the experience of dining here. Speaking of the staff, super friendly and helpful, offering. Great suggestions, and just generally are very warm and inviting when you step into the restaurant. The fish and chips were so on point! As someone who has traveled to England and Scotland, I have had some of the best fish and chips in the world. That being said, this place is as close to authentic English fish and chips as I've had yet. I did not have the cod, I decided to upgrade to the haddock, which is what the gentleman at the counter told me. And he was 100% right. Right, it is absolutely delicious flaky and tender with a great crispy batter. The chips were fried perfectly. Had a nice crunch to the outside and soft on the inside. Don't forget the vinegar, to complete the experience! Bottom line? This place is definitely at the top of my list for fish and chips in Las Vegas. I am definitely going to try others but for now the Codfather has made me an offer. I can't refuse!
Great fried fish and tasty sides. Their gluten free batter was pretty amazing too. The fish came out fresh and hot. I suspect the British like their fries with a mix of crispy and more like steak fries. We love them crispy and this helped us not over do it. The only odd note was no beer. I had hoped for a pint to complete the experience, but the fish really fantastic so that had to wait.
Our friend has a tradition of celebrating with fish and chips after finishing a powerlifting competition! I looked on Reddit for recommendations, and Codfather was one of the most recommended places I saw, so we decided to give it a try. I had the haddock and chips, and they were really tasty! The fish had a crispy, golden batter on the outside, while the inside was moist, flaky, and tender. Everything tasted fresh and satisfying. My only wish is that they served alcoholic drinks on site. I think a cold beer would complement the fish and chips perfectly! Highly recommended! read more
I was craving a fish fry and my friend told me about this place in Henderson. I remembered coming here a few years ago, and not being that impressed with it. They have moved to a new location just a couple of doors down from the old place. I guess they've been here a couple of years now. It is much nicer than the old location. They have more tables to eat at and a little bar area. Looks like they even made a nice little sitting area by the window. I ordered the fried cod ahead of time. It was ready when I got there. The fish was good, however The fries were over cooked and burnt. I really do love fish fries, but for some reason, I'm just not having luck at this place. read more

The Codfather has been on my must try list for some time now. I went in on a Friday night. They were quite busy and after dining there, I can see why. You order at the register and are given a number that you take to a table of your choosing. The service is friendly and the food is cooked to order. We ordered clam chowder, a battered sausage, the kids menu mini fish, the cod fish and chips, and the haddock fish and chips. Our soup arrived first and was a great start to our meal. The soup was full of clams and potatoes and was very filling. The fish and chips were so good. They were cooked fresh to order. The kids menu mini fish was a great size for a kids portion. The haddock was huge and the cod was a generous serving. The chips were cut large and were tasty. The tartar sauce was delicious. The restaurant has booths, tables, and a counter for eating at. The servers were all friendly and you can tell they want everyone to have a great experience. read more

I stopped by The Codfather for lunch earlier today while my car was in the shop for an oil change. The entire experience was top notch and a great start to my holiday break. SERVICE: Friendly & well-paced. AMBIANCE: The restaurant is homey with diner vibes (in the best way possible), and there's a variety of booths, tables, and high tops to accommodate groups of different sizes. The restaurant seems to have broad crossover appeal and attracted a wide range of customers during my visit. FOOD: This was easily one of my Top 5 fish and chip experiences! The chips and curry sauce combo was divine. I also curated four or five unique flavor profiles with different combinations of the fish, mushy peas, curry sauce, tartar sauce, and malt vinegar. read more
TLDR: Great local fish and chips spot in Henderson. A large piece of fish comes out freshly fried with a large side of chips. Staff here is incredibly friendly and helpful. I would budget some time to eat here since it gets quite busy and the fish comes freshly fried. Food: I had the lunch combo which included haddock and chips, a side (I chose mushy peas), and either a water or soda. The fish was fried to order and came out incredibly hot and crispy. There was a nice bed of chips, tartar sauce, and a lemon. The table was stocked with ketchup and malt vinegar. I would absolutely come here just for the fish and chips. The mushy peas were not my favorite, but I am far from an expert on mushy peas. Compared to other restaurants, these ones were soupier and did not have added freshness of mint/herbs. Price: I believe the lunch combo was $20 before tax and tip which was fair considering how large the portions were and everything that comes with the combo Ambiance/Service: The service here was incredible. It seemed like only a few staff members were running the restaurant with over 30+ customers at the lunch rush. Wonderful service and delicious fish and chips! I loved the haddock and chips and my husband loved the catfish. Love the tartar sauce. The poutine was tasty, too (I'm Canadian so I will always order poutine if I see it on a menu). I also tried the mushy peas based on other reviews and I was pleasantly surprised. read more

I have had this place bookmarked for a while and finally got the chance to try it! When we walked in you order at the counter and then find a seat. I love fish and chips! I decided to go with the cod and chips. I absolutely loved it! The fish was delicious and crispy on the outside. They also offer haddock which I think I will try next time. I regret not getting the curry sauce so I will definitely be back to try that. The service was amazing and the person at the front taking our order was super helpful. They brought the food to our table as well after we ordered. Definitely will be back to eat here again. read more

The catfish and chips were super good! The catfish was crispy on the outside, tender and flavorful on the inside, and the fries were cooked perfectly. The portion size was generous, plenty of food for the price. Great flavor, great value, and I definitely left full. I would happily order it again! read more
What can I say?!?! This place is a hole in the wall and what a great place it is. From the decor to the staff, this place is amazing! The fish is so fresh and tasty. The malt vinegar they have is the chefs kiss. The staff were so sweet and great as well!! This is definitely going to be a great place for our work lunches! If you haven't tried this place, you really need to. I have lived here for over 2 decades and never heard of it. But I tell you, you will not be disappointed by the codfather food or staff!!! read more

This place has been on my list for a really long time. So happy that I was finally able to go! The service was fantastic. Very friendly and helpful. I felt like I was visiting someone's home. Food was excellent. My boyfriend got the clam chowder and cod and chips. I'm vegan and yes they have vegan options! I had the vegan "fish and chips" and the mushy peas. The vegan fish is actually made of banana blossom and wrapped in nori (dried seaweed). They even gave me a vegan tartar sauce which I was very surprised they had available. The mushy peas were also very good. I really enjoyed my visit and would like to go back soon! :) read more

Eat it while it's hot!!! Woman wanted to come here for a catfish sandwich (which they do not have). We did do the catfish & chips and I was curious about the pea fritters. Victoria was super kind and helpful (not to mention the BEST accent- the majority of what I watch is international, so this experience was RIGHT up my alley!) she gave us a cup of the peas to try. We liked them and wanted to try the fritters. We got it to go as we went close to closing. Food was out in under 10. There's a cool little area that looks like it's paying homage to someone's living room but there's flags and pride about the place. Very clean, lots of employees and the one I interacted with besides Victoria was super kind and accommodating. I love that they wrap the food in paper. No foil or plastic in sight! We've never experienced catfish breaded like fish and chips. Epic!!! I tried a fry then and it lacked flavor. Victoria brought us curry sauce to try w the fritters, gratis. Like she did w the mashed peas she told us it was ok if we didn't like it. It was shrink wrapped so I didn't bother it at the time. We shared a fritter w malt vinegar (my fave!) and it was fabulous! As was the fish. It was a big, fluffy piece that was sweet and tasty! We talked about getting another fish to go but they were already cleaning the kitchen. I wouldn't expect spice with British food, but I usually steer clear of curry bc of the spice favor. This was perfect! All the curry flavor with zero of the burn! I wish I'd had it when the fritter and sauce were hot! It was over an hour before we got settled to eat properly. The food wasn't the same as it was when we tried it at the restaurant. The fries were just flat not good. The oil made it evident that we went at the end of the night. The fish went from crispy and delicious to heavy and oily. The fritter didn't pop the same. So did I enjoy it? Yes! But hot and fresh! Once it sits it loses its charm. But that's no reason to not go. I'd just eat there or within a few minutes of picking up. Tried this place on a recommendation and I can tell you it lived up to the hype. Service was a tad on the slow side, but I didn't mind it as they warned us upfront that since we were there on a Friday during lent it was going to be a little slower. The people could not have been nicer, great service. The wife and I loved all the neat little plays on words on pieces of memorabilia and tshirts throughout the place that tied in British culture with fish. The food was the best part. Fish and chips were amazing, battered sausage was the best I've ever had and the mush pea fritters were excellent. And everything paired perfectly with the absolutely delicious curry sauce. Can't wait to come back and try out more of this menu. read more
Wish this place would expand and open up more convenient locations because their food is really good but quite a hike for us! They have both normal and gluten free options for fish and their portions are huge! Probably the single best place to get fish & chips in town! Highly recommended and we would come here more often if we could! They also have a lunch special where you can get fish & chips, a side, and a drink for $20. read more

Rating: 3.8/5 [take out] We ordered takeout from Codfather, and the food was ready in about 15 minutes. They included malt vinegar packets (which we didn't end up using) and two containers of tartar sauce. The tartar sauce was actually really good and added most of the flavor so I was constantly dipping everything in it. Pickled Onion ($1.75): My husband said they were hard and not edible. Hard pass. All the fried food had a nice, crispy batter, but the coating tended to fall off the protein easily and everything was super oily. Spam Fritters ($5.95): Came with two slices of fried Spam. They were good and had enough flavor on their own. Haddock ($12.50): Seemed pricey at first, but the piece of fish was absolutely huge. Cod & Chips ($14.95): The chips were just thick-cut fries--too starchy for me and not seasoned. Both the cod and haddock were fresh with no fishy smell or taste, but honestly, we couldn't really tell them apart. read more
The Codfather ... that's a great name for a fish and chips restaurant! Las Vegas has only a few or less even dedicated fish and chips restaurants. Plenty of fish and chips at sports bars and other casino restaurants, but not any dedicated place. Back in Sacramento Valley, we have lots of fish and chips places, maybe jus ta local thing in Sacramento. I'll say the fish here I think is better than the fish pieces we have back home. My local places use pollock fish I think which is still better than those frozen battered fish fingers most sports bars fry up. Here at the Codfather, it's one huge big piece of cod, pretty thick too. The chips (fries) are sort of normal. Gotta use the malt vinegar and salt to be authentic British! I saw this place on Youtube, and the host was using catsup on the fish! YUCK! This fish was probably the best fish and chips I ever had. Prices were average these days about $16 for an order. Gone are the days of under $10 fish and chips! read more
Batter on the fish & chips were perfectly flaky and not too thick. Portion was huge and a great value. However, cod itself was a bit dry, although not sure if this was just an off-day. Clam chowder and battered sausage were both great. Sausage in particular was a pleasant surprise; wasn't sure what to expect but it was really good, and no where as salty or greasy as I expected it to be. The place itself had some great decor, and service was quick and friendly. All the British accents made me feel right back in London! read more
