What in the Wahoo did I walk in to?! The service was great and the food arrived quick however the place was absolutely empty at 3 in the afternoon. My vegan friend raves about this place. I ordered one fish taco which looks like a crispy chicken tender but surprising had a decent taste although it may have been slightly over cooked in texture. The chopped chicken was terrible and aside from the citrus slaw the chicken had no flavor and taste like it came out of a bag and warmed in a microwave. The tortillas were not warm either. The guac was delish. It had the perfect amount of lime and I like chunky guac. I'm glad I stopped by because I've seen this place a few times. Respectfully, once is enough. read more

My first time at this Wahoo's. Honestly the food wasn't bad. It was the experience. It's not even really the employees fault here but, they couldn't get their card reader to work, and we placed 3 orders, and the first order came out last, and honestly I think they forgot. It was just very short staffed and it just took awhile. I'm not even mad about it, it was just not a very good experience. Also I think they have a sewer leak or something, but it smelled pretty bad in there. The waitress was good but I think it was just her, and the experience was very unfair to her. But overall eh. Not too great. But again first time at this one. So experience might vary depending on day. read more

Came in on a Sunday night around 6:30 to find the bar packed and the restaurant side completely dead. Didn't bother me, but worth noting that the bar seems to be a popular hangout during football games. I've had Wahoo's a ton in California, but this is the first one I've been to in Nevada. Overall, the vibe is the same at every location, stickers everywhere and all. I knew coming in I wanted to try something other than fish for once, so I went for the Carne Asada. It was okay, relatively tender but not really flavorful. The slaw saved the tacos for sure. Rice and beans were typical, nothing wild going on there haha. The only reason this place has 2 stars is because of the service. The staff was incredible. The bartender was friendly and accommodating and the young lady that delivered our food was sweet and lively. However, my wife and I have passed that place 100 times while leaving Las Vegas on our way home and always kicked ourselves for not stopping. And then we stopped. Now I'm struggling to figure out how I didn't stab myself with a butter knife after trying their tacos. Wow! I have had bad tacos before, but always ate them and bitterly discussed it with my wife later. I took one bite out of the Crispy Fish Taco and the Carne Asada taco both of which had their famous citrus slaw. Goddamn hands down most inedible food I have ever put in my mouth. I do not know how the F people give this food more stars. God awful and may God have mercy on the chefs soul. I'd rather bite the head off of a dead fish. Side note...we were starving too so our appetite was as high as it gets. The bartender was kind enough to take them off of our bill, which, we didn't ask her to do. She knew something. read more

I made a pick up order for 2 tacos w rice & beans and fish & chips. They used the same fish in the fish tacos and fish and chips. They looked like fish sticks you'd get from Costco. I got two different types of fish tacos and they both were very bland w no flavor on the cabbage mix. Fish n chips were 3 small fish sticks w a medium sized bunch of fries & they forgot to pack the tartar sauce & malted vinegar. I wouldn't return again. Probably why it was empty when I went during dinner time. The food is meh. I'd rather get my fish tacos from Faustos or Roberto's. read more

I can't believe I'm sitting here about to review a place I wanted to try for months and have it give it a 1 star! Firstly this place is literally down the street from me and mind you I loveeee tacos! But these were the worst I've had. I had ordered the two taco meal. I got the fried fish taco and one chicken street taco and it was a big joke! My favorite, that I usually always get, are the a la carte fish tacos. With just the right seasoning (and spicy being an option) the fish is tender and light alongside of their citrus slaw. I am NOT an onions fan, so I am so happy that Wahoo's doesn't add them into their slaw! We also love the cajun fries as a side to share when we decide to order different entrees. Their beer and drink selection is a nice bonus, with the possibility of seating on the patio when weather permits. The service is always prompt and friendly no matter if we are dining in or getting food to go! If only they were closer to our house in the Southeast side of town, then we could really be regulars! read more

Much like about 90% of current Vegas locals, I'm from California (maybe only slightly exaggerated that percentage). I remember being a dorky teenager in the early 1990's, borrowing my Dad's silver Ford Taurus Wagon, and picking up my equally dorky BFF at the time and hitting up Wahoo's Fish Tacos in Costa Mesa (near South Coast Plaza). I remember the delicious, fresh, jumbo shrimp burritos, delicious marinated chicken tacos, and Cajun Fries that put Five Guys to shame. Well, as Martin Blank so eloquently said in 1996's Grosse Pointe Blank, "You can never go home again. But at least you can shop there." That's what popped into my head when I bit into that room temperature bland and mushy burrito followed by Cajun fries that were literally partially still frozen. Talk about a fall from grace. I am gifting this location a 2/5 because the cashier was extremely friendly, engaging, and wonderful. No complaints when it comes to the service or staff (other than maybe the chef). Their app is not efficient or complete and the prices are much lower if you call and place a pickup order instead of ordering pickup through the app, which by itself is redonkulous. I digress, Wahoo's Fish Tacos Black Mountain may have an outstanding bar, staff, and atmosphere, but when it comes to the cuisine, I'm sorry to say, it simply sucks. read more

Wahoo's is number one for a reason! With flight cancellations causing multi-day delays, we decided to spend Boxing Day outdoors. We were blessed to have great weather for a 10-miler, followed up with the fortuitous idea to dine at Wahoo's. With most of the tables open, we walked in and were immediately greeted by a super friendly woman. She introduced us to the menu, and her favorites, and I was sure to ask about margaritas. After a few minutes, our orders were submitted and we then found a table and placed our order numbers in full display. When our appetizers and main courses arrived, we were so thrilled with the quality of the meats, veggies, and sauces. The salsas were particularly stunning, and my Protein bowl with two fish was lovely. I highly recommend taking as many salsa varieties as you can to enjoy all the flavors as you make your way through the order. The booths are the most comfortable. read more

I wanted so much to like this place since I've heard good things, but that wasn't the case. This review is regarding an online order through a second party delivery. A bunch of us were at work and a bunch of us wanted fish and chips so as we were looking through their choices, under the fish and chips selection it stated it came with tartar sauce and their slaw. We ordered a total of 8 items. 6 fish and chips, 1 burrito, an order of wings, and add ons. When the order was delivered, ALL fries (chips) were in one and ALL fish was in another one, so we had to separate everything for each order. In addition, there was no slaw AND no tartar sauce. For the burrito, we asked for guacamole and sour cream (which is an extra charge) and that was no where to be found. We were all pretty disappointed with the entire order and probably won't be ordering from that location again. For the food - it was average. Fish was pretty small and thin, considering the price for it and not getting what we paid for. The burrito had minimal flavor and the ingredients didn't seem fresh at all. read more

Any wonder I'm hesitant to spend money on eating out these days. The value for money is almost non-existent and I'm continually disappointed by each place I go to. Case in point, Wahoos on Horizon Ridge Parkway. They had a 2 for 1 deal on the Uber eats app so I decided to do 2 of the Kalua Pig Bowls and a appetizer of fries. 1 of the Kalua bowls seemed like a half serving and was basically no more than some bland pulled pork (together with some grisly, unedible parts), with rice and beans. The kicker was the fries ... Close to $5 and I could almost count on my fingers the amount I got in a large box. I thought it was a joke when I opened it but having already arrived home, there's nothing I could do about it. Safe to say this was the 1st and last time visiting this location. read more

10/14/20 - Not sure how I slept on this place!! First off, I was so overwhelmed with the variety of choices on the menu, I asked the worker at the register to give me suggestions. I settled for the Fish citrus slaw tacos and I was not disappointed. The fish was perfectly cooked and melted in my mouth and the aioli and slaw were delicious. Yelp check in scored a free basket of chips and salsa and I ordered the spicy mango margarita which was to my liking. Only thing I did not like was the bar was super smoky but that was fixed by just sitting on the restaurant side. Only gave one star, because of convenience. Food came out cold, beans tasted almost rancid, and there was more fat on the pork than actual edible meat. Husbands fish tacos were cold as well, nothing to the tacos at all, and the tortillas just fell apart. Guess our first sign was at entering... when NO ONE was here. Lessons learned. read more

If you want wahoos, go to the Eastern location. So disappointed. Went to get us 2 chicken bowls 2/23/24. Asked for double protein. Ordered to go. The rice was under cooked and there was DEFINITELY NOT Double protein. It was almost like they chopped up the pieces extra small and threw it on the rice like we wouldn't know.
