We always stay at the Sunset station. Always got cheap food from Brass fork graveyard specials and their $5.99 burgers, until...... we heard about Oyster Bar's happy hour, which occurs 1 hour prior to closing time. Always got the 1/2 dozen oysters, either clams or mussels and the clam chowder. All from about $9-12. We started venturing out and this last time we got drinks! A michelada and spicy pineapple margarita which is also on their HH. Then we really ventured out more and got their pan roast! We got the combo with shrimp, crab and lobster. So basically a seafood tomato soup! So good! You have to get the bread basket with butter!! Goes perfectly with every dish that is saucy! Our server made our night! So nice and always came back to check on us!! This location looks like a sea cave, including waterfalls! The counter seating gives you an overview of the steam pots. If I ever go alone, that's where I'm sitting! Next trip... Gumbo!

Come here and get the seafood pan roast. You won't be disappointed. I promise!

This place is 2nd best to the palace station pan roast. I think it's because the pan roast is cooked longer on the steamer so adds more depth and flavor. Whenever I don't want to wait in line, I go here and get my pan roast fix vs the one in palace station, be expected to wait a minimum of 30 mins to 2 hrs + even though they open 24 hrs. They need to get customer seated faster and take their orders in and they only have about 8 steamers to cook at a time and each steamer takes 15-20 mins to cook vs sunset station cooks it between 5-10 mins!! The service is great as they always check on us and fill our water. The jambalaya here isn't as good, so I recommend sticking to pan roast and clam chowder! I'll try their baked oysters next time.. Here's a cleaner, more polished version of your review while keeping your original voice and points: This spot is easily my second favorite for pan roast after Palace Station. I think the difference comes down to how long they cook it here--they leave it on the steamer longer, which really adds depth and richness to the flavor. Whenever I don't feel like dealing with the insane wait times at Palace Station, I come here instead to satisfy my pan roast craving. At Palace Station, even though they're open 24 hours, you should expect to wait anywhere from 30 minutes to 2+ hours. Part of the delay seems to be seating and ordering efficiency, plus they only have around eight steamers, and each batch takes about 15-20 minutes. In comparison, Sunset Station cooks theirs much faster--around 5-10 minutes. Service here is great--they're attentive, check in often, and keep your water filled, which I really appreciate. The jambalaya didn't impress me as much, so I'd recommend sticking with the pan roast and clam chowder. I'm planning to try the baked oysters next time.

I'll keep this short and sweet. During Lent season is tough as a luchador because we want MEAT! Came here on Friday and was looking for a quick exhibition match. My heel wife and I came here to meet up with some friends and needed a non-meat option. When I was taking the Southern California Lucha scene by storm, we used to frequent a Cajun spot called Ritters (RIP). I've heard this Oyster Bar having what you get from the Palace Station without the long queue. Tonight's match was a 3 on 2 handicap match against the pan roast team of Shrimp, Crab and Lobster. This match was very good, very flavorful and PACKED with the 3 different sea bugs. It came with a side of rice (could've used a little more but that's ok) and some bread as well. You can choose your spice level from 1 to 10, the server recommended a 4 but I laughed at such a suggestion and said to give us an 8 PORQUE NO SOY CULERO! DAME EL PINCHE OCHO! CERO MIEDO! This was able to feed both the heel wife and I, so if the $34 price tag seems like a lot, it can be split between 2 people. 1! 2! 3! The team of Shrimp, Crab and Lobster Panroast conquered! I look forward to having a rematch with these opponents. 5 OUT OF 5 LUCHAS!

The Oyster Bar at Sunset Station is always a solid choice and such a treat anytime I'm at a Station casino. The pan roast is seriously so good every time-and is a total comfort food! We went on a Monday and the wait really wasn't bad, though I've heard it can get long. Service is on the slower side, but it feels intentional and not rushed. The vibe is cute and classic, but it is loud since it's right in the casino, so be prepared for some background noise. One thing to note: the pan roast can get pretty spicy, so if you're not a big heat person, stick to the lower spice numbers. Still incredibly flavorful. I will be back :)

Food was awesome. Service was excellent. Shared the etouffe, cup of new England clam chowder, sangria and beer.

Awesome pan roast! Service was excellent. Love that you can see the chef cook our yummiest pan roast. Pan roast was substantial, you can taste the crab meat, lobster and shrimp. They didn't skimp out. The clam chowder was creamy. The clams were perfect. Love the ambiance here.

We visited the Oyster Bar inside Sunset Station. Understandable being a Friday night, we had to wait in line for a few minutes. We were seated at a high table for two. Our waitress took our drink and food order after a few minutes. Bread and butter were served with our drinks. Soon after receiving our drinks, our dozen of oysters on the half shell arrived. They were fresh and very tasty. A good amount of time later, a male waiter delivered my Shrimp and Lobster Fra Diavolo. This waiter then asked if we needed an extra dish as if we were splitting this dish. It was at this point that I knew something was wrong with our order. My companion ordered a cup of New England Clam Chowder and a Caesar Salad, but they never arrived. Our waitress was nowhere to be found. An extensive amount of time had now passed. I chose not to start eating my dish since my companions food hadn't arrived. We watched another table that had just sat down much later than we did and had already received and started eating their food. Their male waiter came by their table several times while he waited on them, like he should. Frustrated, I finally stood up and looked for a manager near the bar top. A few employees looked my way, but none of them approached me to ask if I needed assistance. Finally, a gentleman came over and asked if I needed help. I explained my issue, and he promised to look for my waitress. She was still nowhere to be found! Then, a chef wearing a baseball hat brought the soup and Caesar salad to our table. I'm sure he scooped up the clam chowder and placed it into a cup and prepared a Caesar Salad. Both were easy to prepare I'm sure. At this point I asked for my food to be placed into a to-go box and asked for my check. Finally, my waitress arrived with the check and she tried to justify the neglectful service. The bill was about $100 and they offered about a $16 discount. I insisted that I didn't want a discount. We just wanted to enjoy our dinner. I left $120 cash for a $98 diner that we later enjoyed at home. The customer service was terrible!.

Charbroiled Oysters THE BEST!!! So Good!!!

We were back again last month and showed our family how amazing the restaurant truly is. We loved everything we have and left talking about how good it was for days! I absolutely love everything, the baked oysters are my favorite, the jambalaya and the little sourdough bread appetizers are everything. I can't remember our Filipino servers name.. but he was super good to us! Thank you guys for an awesome experience yet again, and we will definately be b

In Green Valley Ranch casino after a movie and wanting a quick dinner. It is years since we ate at the Oyster Bar, so we gave it a try. No problem getting a table at 7:30 PM on a Wednesday evening. Our server was at our table right away to get our beverage order and answer questions about the menu. My wife went with the New England clam chowder ($10). A good sized bowl and very tasty. I ordered the house gumbo (($33). The house gumbo includes shrimp, chicken, meat, and veggies. Huge portion - took home half for lunch the next day (it reheats very well!!!) A bit pricey for a very informal restaurant - but it is in a casino so you don't expect a bargain. Tasty food, nice clean ambiance. Several TVs with sports on visible from every table.

    Cheramie T.

I love the Oyster Bar. Now that station has remodeled, it looks much cleaner and brighter. I always get either the seafood boil or the gumbo. This is the seafood boil. You can tailor the spice level to your preference. I like how the boil comes deconstructed. It's cooked to order but it doesn't take long for it to come from the kitchen.

Shrimp & lobster Fra Diavolo spice level 4. Very good although heavy on the pepper

The Oyster bar at Sunset Station Casino is a winner. The staff are all friendly and attentive. This place is very small and is always crowded at prime times. The food is prepared right in front of you at the bar and definitely has a cajun/creole influence. While the wife and I liked everything we ordered we both really enjoyed the chargrilled oysters, they had a bread crumb topping with butter and hints of garlic and onion....100% will order this again. You can pick your spice level on everything we ordered, I got a four and the wife ordered hers at a 7 and we both thought their heat scale was a little weak as I could eat her 7 and at other places I tap out at a five. The place is a little dated and a little dive bar...ish both in ambiance and service. You have to walk through a smokey casino to get to the restaurant but the oyster bar itself isn't smokey. All in all it has a cool little vibe. With all the above this place is worth a try and if you like the cajun, creole flavor of the food I think you'll love it, but if you want less flavor in your oyster house, like what I would consider a more traditional east coast oyster bar then it might not be for you. I wanted to give them four stars (because 4.3 isn't an option) but Rita insisted we give them a five.....we will go back. :-)

My second fav oyster bar in the city. No tourist traffic like Palace Station. No long line, kid friendly, clean and bigger than Palace. Love all the decorations inside. I think Sunset isn't as smoky inside vs Palace. Service is always good but the combo pan roast is delicious!!!!! Thank you Sunset Statuon Oyster Bar

Ask the Community - Oyster Bar

    Are kids allowed?

Yes, absolutely. Kids are welcome at Oyster Bar.

    Can i get gumbo takeout?

Should be no problem, but you may have to wait in line for your turn.

Is this place similar to the oyster bar at Palace Station?

    Yes

Does this oyster bar serve bouillaroast?

No they don't. Only the palace station one does. I just went to the sunset station one and asked. They don't serve it here

Do you guys gave pickup available? If not, you should. Seems like a waste of money to not make that available.

They do have take out if you go there and order in person. However, they don't let you order the charbroiled oysters to go.

    Can you make reservations?

    No reservations

Does this location have happy hour and if so what times?

I have eaten here several times and have never noticed any advertising regarding happy hour.

Do they allow children at this location? Thanks in advance !

    Yes!

Running around playing slots like a wild chicken man had left me exhausted and I was becoming uncomfortably lucid. I caught a wave outside the Skyline and rode it down the Boulder Highway. There's a strange swirling energy that ebbs and flows along this highway. It pools in vortices in casinos on either side of the road. It swept me right inside this place. Sunset Station is home of The Gaudi Bar, named after famed Catalan architect Antoni Gaudi (1852-1926). This is one of my favorite places to visit and a great place to work on getting your buzz back. I grabbed a seat and urgently got to work. Sixteen ounces later things were starting to look up. And there's a lot to see here. Now, you don't need to be high to enjoy Gaudi, but his work is all the more delightful if you are. Same with the Gaudi Bar here. The higher, the better. The bar reminds me of an indoor version of Park Guell, the little park designed in the Catalan Modernist style by Gaudi up in the low hills overlooking Barcelona. Straight lines were like an anathema to Gaudi. In his work, everything you expect to be straight is curvy, and he favors brightly colored mosaics pieced together from broken ceramics. The Gaudi Bar at Sunset Station has the same type of architectural columns which support Park Guell. They look like tree trunks, which branch out to support a fancifully scalloped domed ceiling ringing the bar area, with the top of the dome removed to expose a fake blue sky. The ceiling features a number of cutouts for lighting covered with fantastic mosaics, functioning like stained glass windows. Ringing the ceiling are wicked cool red lanterns which look like volcanic stalactites growing through a tangled web of wires and threatening to drip hot lava on the patrons below. The table behind me was filled with what looked to be mayonnaise salesmen celebrating something. I noticed they were sitting directly under a lantern. It occurred to me to warn them about the dripping lava but just then a cocktail waitress came by and I got distracted. When I looked back they were gone. Poor bastards. I finished my beer and hit the penny slots. Mikey C says: Hot Lava!

My brother started doing his usual poo pooing the place, saying, I don't know why we have to go here and that he wouldn't like it and I knew it was going to be good because he was doing this and in the past every place we end up, he ends up loving and this was the case this time as well. The place is dark and foreboding when you first walk in (This is a good thing) It feels very gothic... Strange Macabre pictures, potions and taxidermy scatter the place, you walk pass one room with Tables and chairs and a fireplace and into a larger room with booths, tables (The booth tables move which is good) and this is where the main bar is and where we met Jessie, the bartender, a true delight to deal with. Amazingly fun personality and told her it was our first time and felt very comfortable and welcomed by her. I ordered 50 shades of Grey Witch and my brother got a mocktail, Bubble Bubble Toil & Trouble, he liked his drink and I LOVED MY DRINK. It does come with a Burnt Marshmallow for my Vegan friends, while I did not eat it, I am glad I didn't know because the smell of the burnt Marshmallow filled the glass and every sip had that burnt taste. AMAZING. I WILL ORDER THAT NEXT TIME. Of course my Brother says, what am I eating for dinner, implying it would not be good and that he would need something else along the way to his house.... He ordered pepperoni pizza w/red sauce, I got Vegan cheese & Vegan sausage w/a delicious vegan white sauce and WE BOTH LOVED THEM--SO GOOD, AS THE MENU SAYS "THE BEST PIZZA YOU WILL EVER EAT and this was not a lie, we loved them so much that we each ordered one to go. There was also a casket that I was fascinated with... If you know me, you would know that I felt right at home, in fact, It reminded me quite of bit of the house I grew up in with my Witchy Aunt Helen but that is a story for another time I guess. Jessie gave us a tour and the place is bigger than you realize, they even have a couple of secrets to share if you are lucky enough. I felt like I was in a cross between Dark Shadows and Scooby Doo and I loved it, this is literally my dream place. I may ask if I can rent a room--Just build me a secret one please and Kristen can cook for me, she is amazing too. and I am allergic to mushrooms and she double checked the ingredients before making my dinner so thank you very much! One of the coolest touches is that if you arrive early enough, you can join in on bingo, which adds a fun and unique vibe when you're there with friends and family. This feels like one of those hidden local gems that you don't tell tourists about--because it's such a great vibe. Huge thanks again to Ella and Mia for making sure we had such a great time. We'll definitely be back!

There's an open bar with tables when you walk in, and you can either hang out there or rent a private area for your group to sing their hearts out. I was honestly a little worried about it being crowded, dirty, and hard to get around when I checked Yelp before coming, but everything was perfect when we arrived. From the moment we called to book up to the checking out our bill, everything went smoothly. Our guests absolutely loved it! It's about 10 miles from the Strip, but the drive was totally worth it! I just wish they had more food options and extra microphones, but overall, we had a blast! I think we'll definitely add this to our Vegas itinerary whenever we visit! We were charged $700+ for the whole thing (you don't have to go that far--it's just me who ordered too much). I must have ordered way too much food and drinks for a group of 20.

The place looks amazing, and I think it is more of a place to book an appointment in advance for a big event. There were not menus available, and the tablets were in the room to pick songs. You also had to put a credit card for drinks and whatnot at the counter. Me and a friend ended up spending two hours, and I was assuming that they would tell you when your time is up. They did not, which seemed kind of odd because why would the customer need to keep track that. Spent 50$ dollars than I expected because I was confused. The owner was there, but please have some people who know the policies. The girl at the bar seemed accommodating, but the males at the counter did not seem to communicate as much to find information. Overall, would go to another venue to chill out.
