I was referred to RSM by a co-worker of mine a couple weeks back that had used this company to have a new garage door installed. My co-worker praised and praised over the work that Raymond had done. So, I call this company and Raymond (also owner) came out yesterday and fixed a broken spring on my door. He was actually here the night before but didn't have a spring in his truck. So, he came back the following morning to fix me up after visiting his supplier... And that's exactly what he did. Raymond at RSM was FANTASTIC to work with! My garage door broke in the late afternoon, in such a way that I couldn't open or close it. As an older single woman living alone, I was so scared that if some kind of emergency happened I wouldn't be able to get my car out of the garage. I conveyed this to the many companies I contacted through Yelp and Thumbtack. With the exception of RSM, I got messages saying they couldn't come until the next day, giving me their standard message about the $99 cost of the visit, plus the cost if I chose to have them do the repair. ONLY Raymond responded by offering to come at 6pm, charging $89 -- which included the cost of the repair -- and acknowledged that this was probably an easy fix (which was pretty clear to me, as well). Total waste of money and time. Made an appointment to inspect and tune-up the garage door because of a groupon deal - "$35 for a tune-up and inspection for one garage door ($89 value)". He gave an appointment window of two hours. Not having heard from him and close to the end of the appointment window, I called and he said that he had lost his phone and couldn't make the appointment. On the second appointment, he finally showed up 30 minutes near the end of the window, inspected the garage door, and recommended that in order for it to operate properly, the entire door should be taken down and reinstalled for $800. The he sprayed some lubricant on various things and made a minor tension adjustment to the belt and left after about 15 minutes without actually fixing anything. After doing some more research on yelp, I called another company (All Bay Doors) to schedule an appointment. They stated that the appointment would cost $89, and would cover all labor for 1 hour. The tech called ahead to say he was on his way and to give a time estimate as to when he was going to arrive. Arrived slightly early, then promptly got to work actually fixing the issues. About an hour later, the door actually works great. He even replaced a roller for free since the bearings was going bad and didn't charge for it (since he said that he had a ton of them). read more

I don't usually write reviews -- the last one I wrote was 5 years ago! -- but once in a blue moon (okay, once every few blue moons), I'm compelled to write a review for a business that stands out in a good or bad way. RSM stood out in a very good way. I had to get the torsion springs on my garage door replaced (one of them broke). As this is a fairly common repair, I was able to get quotes from a few different vendors over the phone. Based on those, I had Raymond from RSM come out to do the work. He had quoted a very reasonable price over the phone. Once he came over and looked at the door, he said my garage door wasn't the type I had said it was on the phone. At this point, I'm thinking "oh oh" and ready for him to quote a higher price. But to my surprise, he says that, for the type of door I had, the cost would be 15-20% LOWER than what he had previously quoted. I was quite impressed by Raymond's honesty. He was already there to do the work based on the quote he had given on the phone; he didn't need to give me the lower price and I wouldn't even have known about it had he not brought it up himself. Of course, honesty is only part of the picture (I could quote honest prices for garage door repairs all day but I don't know the first thing about doing the work). Fortunately, Raymond's work was excellent as well. He replaced the springs and checked everything with the door. He also gave some pointers about recommended maintenance for the door that I could do myself. Raymond also pointed out another small problem with the door that I hadn't noticed, but this wasn't done in a pushy way to get more business; it was something that was good for me to be aware of. He was also extremely efficient and had the repair done in under 30 min. The only (small) negative was that he arrived a bit later than the time window he had originally given.
