The person who took my call was friendly and the technician called me back right away and made an appointment and even called to tell me he nearby prior to arrival. The spring had given out on the bracket, he replaced it and took the time to take care of some of the finer details, making sure that the door was operable and in very good condition. Called at 6:49pm on a Wednesday. Answering service picked up and said I would hear back. Got a call back at 6:50pm. We had a broken spring on our garage door. After sharing pics of the spring, we agreed on an appointment between 1-3pm the next day. Clarence and OG arrived around 1:25pm and went about fixing the springs on the garage. They were done in about 45 mins with springs installed, system greased, and opener limits reset. The work came with a 1-year guarantee. The price for the fix was reasonable. This same company installed the garage door for us 10 years ago and we have never had problem with it. Highly recommend them. read more

When I first moved into my home, there was a dent at the bottom of my garage. I made it worse by closing the garage and hitting the license plate ‍of my car.The damage caused water to come into the garage whenever it rained. I didn't mind the dent bc in my opinion it is very minor, but I really wanted to stop the water from coming into the garage. I inquired with Art's Martin Garage, along with other companies but due to the pandemic, I am weary of having too many people visit the house and requested quotes and shared photos of the damage. After discussing with several companies, I decided to go with Art's Martin Garage because they are an Authorized Repair by Martin Garage systems and one of the other companies I inquired with recommended them. When I called the office, I was told someone would be dispatched to my home to assess the damage. Upon arrival, Clarence was very polite and professional. He and his partner both wore masks the entire time. They took some measurements and assessed the damage. We discussed a few things about my garage: 1. The dent and old weather stripping, 2. Finger Guards which kept sliding out of place on my garage 3. replacing the whole panel vs replacing the retainer and weather stripping. I was provided with 3 quotes within 2 business days. I communicated with Clarence via text and email to confirm the repair, shipment of parts, and scheduling. There was a one-week delay in receiving the parts but Clarence notified me right away, and followed up as soon as they arrived. He and his partner installed the replacement parts within 3 days of receiving the parts. I was given the time frame of 3 hours for installation, but finished in 2 hours. During their installation, they verified that we wanted to remove the finger guards and the clips that held them in. I'm happy they took the time to verify bc once the clips were off, there was no turning back. They also disposed of the finger guards for us and gave the door and adjustment to prevent the new weather seal from getting crushed like the old one. I also noticed that the garage is slightly quieter than it used to be. I am one very satisfied customer and would recommend this business to others! read more

Very impressed with their service. My genie was not working, I thought it was the battery and changed it, but it did not make a difference. I called the main office number and was told that I would get a callback which I did within the hour! Jeff was very pleasant and helpful when I explained my problem and he told me that they could come out later in the day as they were in the middle of installing doors at the time. This was the worst experience ever. The door were manufacturered incorrectly. The attempts at repair were not completed and we had to hire outside contractors to complete and repair the leaking doors as well as bent hardware. We had to install additional protection for our floors and call the actual manufacturer who told us the guy choose the wrong doors and did the wrong install. Also u need to be a gorilla to lift them up. Now we are in court suing to recoup our repair cost. read more

I agree with all the poor reviews here. If I could give him zero, I will. 17 years ago, I was happy with their product and service, so I hired them again in 2007. Fast forward to 2020, I discovered that I paid for product A, but instead they delivered and installed a vastly inferior product X. I stumbled into this when I needed a replacement panel for product X, I cannot find any because product X went out of business 10 years ago. When confronted by this, Art keeps denying it. At one point, he denies installing the garage door. I no longer have the receipt, but fortunately I still have the sticker in my garage wall that proves he installed it. Second, city records shows his name as the installer. Rep for product A, on a 3 way call, did acknowledge it is NOT their product. I gave Art many opportunities to rectify this. Instead, Art added insult to injury by insisting to just replace the garage door because the garage door is beyond repair. Fortunately, I was able to find a different company that was able to repair my garage door at less than 86% of Art's estimate for a new garage door. So Art is either (1) incredibly incompetent in what he does because he does not know how to repair a garage door, which coincidentally the process to repair is posted on YouTube or (2) he puts his interests first before his customers. If you still wish to do business with Art, please be very careful in your dealings with him. read more

Message to their answering service was returned about 6:30 that evening by the owner who got me to photo various parts of the door, saw the failed spring. Approximately ten years ago, I had Art come down to my Residence in Foster City and give a bid on a NEW Roll-Up Door to Replace the Older Flip Up Doors that the Foster City Kay Homes were outfitted with in the 1960s.... Noisy and Dangerous! Art was very professional and it was obvious this man knew what he was doing plus had a Passion for his business, much like Greg @ ACE Heating in San Mateo who has an incredible 175 5 STAR Yelps. See his yelps also. Greg recently installed a Bryant Heating System in my House, pulling the 1996 RUUD which Crapped Out and we Discovered no less than 3 major cracks in the Heat Exchanger which could have prov-en Deadly as far as Carbon Monoxide and Fire. Anyway Glad to see the Ruud go Bye Bye. Now back to Art Martin's Door. The Door was put in in under a day by Art's Installer. Art personally dropped by and thoroughly checked out the job. Since then, it has been a trouble free door. When it gets HOT which is rare in Foster City, the quiet track has a squeak in it which I plan to take up with Art shortly. Outside of that it has been problem free. I had some Sand Baskets hanging a bit close to the door as I have a Home Based Business: Golden State Metal Detectors, and I mis judged and when the door came up, it damaged some of the panels where I have the 'windows'. Art had originally told me if any of the panels become damaged they can be easily replaced. Over the summer Art sent out a Summer Tune Up offer which I had planned to use but never pulled the trigger due to other priorities. But it is now time to address the panel issues, slow Uverse Internet etc. Oh, let me mention that Art and I got along so well, like Greg @ Ace, Treated me to Dinner with his son no less... who I was impressed with so I gave him a metal detector to go out and find treasure. After a few hours, i proceeded to go out and opened the garage door, only to discover cables hanging from the sides. We called them and they were supposed to come out but missed their appt. They finally came a few days later and he charged us $95 for putting greece on the door. (what??!!) Zero stars, if I could. Use anyone but them...The service workers are unknowledgable at best and lack of attention to detail causes additional problems to my door after they replaced two springs. He didn't even look at the alinement post-installation of the springs. Additionally they are priced higher than other local providers but went with them because the original homeowner that I bought the house from had them install the door. The owner is VERY unprofessional, unpleasant, and accusatory when I ask if it could be possible that the technician may have over tightened the tension on the spring causing the door to be out of alinement. He say there is NO way and anything besides the spring will not be covered under the warranty...then went on to accuse me of not being fair and trying to get repair service for free. All I wanted was someone to come out to look at it and if it indeed was due to an over tightened spring tension then it should be covered under my warranty. He contiunued to yell at me. When I asked when was the earliest he could have someone out, he said the earilest would be after 9am the next day, it was then 6pm...I ask you don't have after hour technicians just to drop by and help me close the door....he said we will have the office manager schedule something after 9am tomorrow and it's not my problem that you have an open garage door. One of the wires broke on our door, and they sent out a guy to fix it. Aside from the steep $95 service call fee, the repair went fine. Just over a week later the gate breaks again. This time something broke because the gate is not running straight. On the phone, they quoted another $95 fee to come out that night when it broke. On the phone I told them it wasn't an emergency since the door was closed, so there was no need to pay the fee for coming immediately - the next open slot was fine. Instead we scheduled an appointment for the following day. When the guy then shows up and starts fixing the door, the story changes, and the fee is now mandatory ... and actually higher since it's a Saturday and weekend rates are higher. Terrible service to not inform about the mandatory fee, and the higher one for the following day. What a coincidence that the gate breaks a week after they repaired and adjusted it. Total bait-and-switch on the fee. Avoid them! read more

It's been problem-free since installation, but it sustained some damage after being painted earlier this week, so I called Art today to have it serviced. I have not one complaint against this company. In Sept 2008 I met with Art Nolasco personally at my residence in Half Moon Bay to replace the garage doors and openers on both of my garages. He offered 3 price levels of doors to choose from with a great selection of styles from each price level. Although my door openers were older screw drive units he suggested that I not replace them with new belt unit technology openers rather I should keep my current units and have them serviced accordingly. This saved me at least $1000.00 dollars. His installers arrived two weeks later completed the installation of the doors - tracks & mounting supports and doors for both garages and servicing of the opener units by 3 pm that same day. I had my springs replaced on the 1st of November. I haven't had an issue with the repair yet and hope it will last another 15 years like the first set. I was reluctant to use Art because of all the unhappy customers. He made a good point though that people will usually let everyone know if they are unsatisfied but satisfied customers don't take the time to write a good review. So I promised him I would write a review if I was happy with the work. Art has been in business for 30 years so I am sure he knows what he is doing. We chatted on the phone for a while and assured me the job will be done right. He matched the competitor's price and said he would send one of his best guys. He also instructed me on how to check if the door was aligned properly. After the job was complete, he called me back to see if everything was alright. I called Martin Doors directly and they were profusely apologetic about Art's behavior. When asked about dates and assurances Art himself gave me over the phone he totally denied them and instead accused me of not remembering correctly. When I challenged him on his comments he dismissively tells me to just call Martin Door's customer service -- and to look up the number myself. read more
