    Replaced retainer and weather stripping.
    J-nine I.

When I first moved into my home, there was a dent at the bottom of my garage. I made it worse by closing the garage and hitting the license plate ‍of my car.The damage caused water to come into the garage whenever it rained. I didn't mind the dent bc in my opinion it is very minor, but I really wanted to stop the water from coming into the garage. I inquired with Art's Martin Garage, along with other companies but due to the pandemic, I am weary of having too many people visit the house and requested quotes and shared photos of the damage. After discussing with several companies, I decided to go with Art's Martin Garage because they are an Authorized Repair by Martin Garage systems and one of the other companies I inquired with recommended them. When I called the office, I was told someone would be dispatched to my home to assess the damage. Upon arrival, Clarence was very polite and professional. He and his partner both wore masks the entire time. They took some measurements and assessed the damage. We discussed a few things about my garage: 1. The dent and old weather stripping, 2. Finger Guards which kept sliding out of place on my garage 3. replacing the whole panel vs replacing the retainer and weather stripping. I was provided with 3 quotes within 2 business days. I communicated with Clarence via text and email to confirm the repair, shipment of parts, and scheduling. There was a one-week delay in receiving the parts but Clarence notified me right away, and followed up as soon as they arrived. He and his partner installed the replacement parts within 3 days of receiving the parts. I was given the time frame of 3 hours for installation, but finished in 2 hours. During their installation, they verified that we wanted to remove the finger guards and the clips that held them in. I'm happy they took the time to verify bc once the clips were off, there was no turning back. They also disposed of the finger guards for us and gave the door and adjustment to prevent the new weather seal from getting crushed like the old one. I also noticed that the garage is slightly quieter than it used to be. I am one very satisfied customer and would recommend this business to others!

I suggest people who need their garage fixed go somewhere else. Not worth your time any money.

I was informed of a price around $200-300 for single or both springs, plus labor (which many places would not provide unless I had them come out first). It seems like the price could vary depending on the garage door style, size, and weight. Also, another place had quoted me $485 right off the bat therefore this was the best option so far. They let me know that the technician would have all the necessary parts and tools for whatever option I go with (very convenient). Technician Sam called me to notify he was on the way and when he arrived outside. Upon arrival, he inspected our garage and said it would be more than quoted since I had a heavy door (~$400-500). He provided us with two different priced options, differing in expected lifespan and labor (~$100) warranties. The job was estimated to take around 30 mins, depending on if there was complications with the existing parts. Sam was very professional and knowledgeable with all the mechanics and components. He let us know more about what we had installed and what could potentially fail or cause us issues in the future. He also gave us recommendations on how to properly maintain the garage door to prolong it's functionality and life. After we made our choice, he began working right away. During this time, he came to get our attention and let us know that the bearings needed to be replaced soon and we just asked him to do them since it was already disassembled and the labor cost was flat rate. It all ended up taking closer to an hour, and despite the higher than anticipated expense... we felt very assured and satisfied with the outcome we received. We love supporting family owned businesses, especially when they provide great quality and service! Highly recommend.

Long, long overdue updated review (previous review was from a tenant that quickly wrote it after…read morebeing requested to when the job was done): Absolutely atrocious installation, and very, very unprofessional. The garage door installed was not the one that was negotiated during our call, which had a few other additions to it. The installer even FORGOT TO BRING one with a MAIL SLOT!! Unbelievable!! After realizing a garage door does indeed need a mail slot, he said "Oh, well, don't worry, this one is on the house, it's on me man!" like it was some kind of favor or nice thing to do, then expressed "I have to go all the way to Home Depot to get it, but since I'm a nice guy I'll do this for you this one time." I couldn't believe what I was hearing, he seriously thought it wasn't his fault. He then proceeded to install the most ghetto mail slot, it wasn't even straight or aligned correctly, not stainless steel, and when inserting your hand through the top part of the metal that he cut snags the top of your hand and can cut you. The metal part he cut even covers at least 1/3 of the insert hole! He also did not install the new chain that came with the garage door opener and kept saying it's not needed and is an "extra job" to do. Anything that was said that wasn't satisfactory he kept saying "it's fine, it's fine, don't worry about it" and "you don't have to care so much about it, why do you care about these things? I think it's fine and nobody can see it anyway," while there were some dents on the "new" garage door after he installed it when it was pointed out. Even when asked "if you installed it like this at your place, would you be fine with it?" He replied, "I don't really think it's a big deal." So unprofessional. He also tried to upsell me on railings and wheels, and other things I didn't need. Furthermore, when he was contacted about everything, he told my tenant "I'm not the main installer guy, the other guys that work at this company are way better and they can install them 100% correctly, but since they weren't available I had to go out and do it." I can't believe this kind logic and all these excuses, and still expected to be paid fully like nothing was wrong or weird. Very dishonest company and will try to use any excuse to half-ass their job or laziness, as well as using ways and saying things in a way to make the customer "feel bad" or "uncomfortable" to not speak up to them or mention something off. Ever since then, the garage does not properly close, having to get out and hold down the button from the inside since the sensors think there is something in the way or wrong with the rail alignment, the door is super loud, even making a really big "bang" sound each time it goes opens and closes. The garage door hasn't been able to close normally for quite a long, long time now, by garage door remote or normal wall button, often times having to manually close it by hand as well! Also reading other reviews, I was also told that there was tax and was charged for it when maintenance and service labor isn't taxable. Stay away from this company, please! The low star ratings are here for a reason!

My Mother is 81, and taking care of him on their fixed income. Their garage door stopped working several months ago. When they received "Local Garage doors" Flier my Mother called me. I told her she can't go wrong with a free estimate, senior and/or military discount. My mother called and confirmed all of the above when making an appointment. I was there when the repairman arrived. I showed him the error code on the garage door was I-5. He immediately pulled out his phone saying "I will need a signature of authorization to proceed." It made since so I scribbled on his phone. He then said; "It's going to cost you $150.00 dollars for me to give you a proper estimate." I called my mother from bed, she brought her Flier asking about the free estimate, senior and Military discount. He told some story about gas prices, labor and his company making him charge for visits. He then pressed the reset button on the Garage door motor, and said he can replace it for $1,400,00 while also trying to sell her upgrades. He then placed the posted business sticker on her garage wall and left. His entire visit was less than 15 minutes. My mother paid these people $150.00 to place a sticker on her house. I was angry, because I gave her the green light to contact them without heeding previous reviews. If I could give them negative stars I would. And the response from the manager is more lies. I gave them a chance and they took advantage of an elderly Veteran household. If you pass on these FRADULENT, IMMORAL crooks you will vindicate my Parents stolen $150.00.. have a nice day.

Jon-Paul arrived earlier than the scheduled 2-hour window. He measured the door, got the parts from his truck, and replaced the springs. Removing the old springs wasn't easy, as the old hardware was in poor condition, but he got it done. He tested the door, reprogrammed the upper and lower limits on the motor, and tested again. The entire service appointment took about 45 minutes. Fast and efficient! I paid $400 for 2 springs, $199 for labor, and about $50 tax. The springs are rated for 15,000 cycles and come with a 5-year warranty. Includes a 30-day labor warranty.

Well, my mom's garage door stopped working so I got several quotes. One guy told me I had to replace the entire motor because it was "old and the parts aren't made anymore." He quoted me $900 for his company and $750 if he did it himself as a side job. What a crook! Thankfully, I found Abe and A-Z Garage Door. He came by, analyzed the situation and said we simply needed to replace the worn-out gear which he had. He charged me $200 which was very reasonable for his time, labor and expertise. My mom's garage door works perfectly now. Because Abe was honest and did such a great job, I hired him a second time for my home. For this project, the motor stopped running and the door was stuck. It didn't look good and I imagined this was going to be a costly motor and garage door replacement. Abe said he couldn't promise anything but would see what he could do. He fixed the motor, replaced the sensors, lubricated the metal parts, and got the garage door running again! He is METICULOUS and cares about his work. He even made additional needed repairs and gifted me a second remote since I only had one. I was so moved. What a kind, thoughtful, and generous gesture! Again, he charged me a very reasonable price and I couldn't be happier. So, if you're looking to repair or replace your garage door, don't hesitate. Call Abe at A-Z Garage Door.
