After we ripped up the entire carpeted space and treated it--I wanted info from a professional to see if there was anything else that we needed to do before getting the affected slab ground down and polished. I spoke with several companies who were unhelpful over the phone or charging ridiculous fees just to come out and provide an estimate. Mathew, the owner of Puget Sound Water Rescue was timely in his responsiveness over the Yelp App (on a Sunday afternoon) and ultimately provided us the perspective and information that we needed to determine whether or not professional remediation services were warranted at this point. Ultimately we determined with his help that they were not. Despite the fact that we did not end up hiring (anyone), his knowledge, honesty, and helpfulness were 5 stars worthy. Highly recommend talking to and/or Mathew for your remediation needs!

He did not try to upsell and seemed very transparent in his assessment. A few other water companies had pressured us to start an insurance claim there and then, saying the work would be more than our $5k deductible. Matthew told us that the water was very small and could be dried out with some DIY strategies. He then also looked at another issue we had and provided honest unbiased information about plumbers and contractors. He also provided a lot of small tips to prevent moisture and leaks in the future. I recommend Matthew as your first call and will definitely seek him out for future water damage needs.

I called Green Planet from seeing their excellent review history and local family ownership, and they aligned their inspection to suit my availability the next day, and the owner David sent their very capable and friendly project manager JJ. He surveyed the areas and two things became clear: he knows his craft and summarizes his findings very well, and he came to our home prepared for any eventuality with his drywall and remediation team resources to inspect as well as perform the work if we chose to (which we did). After pulling the baseboards and carpet lips back, analyzing water/humidity levels within the walls and materials and checking the inner wall beams and studs, he determined it was not black mold and could be normally cleaned as some form of soot/dirt accumulation. This put us at ease for that part. Then on to the shower area, where he not only examined the MDF baseboard area but also checked telltale signs above on the upper wall sand ceiling inside the shower and even in the towel closet. He correctly removed the shower ceiling itself and a few inches of the upper walls, ad well as some of the lower wall adjacent to the baseboard damage to get the complete picture of where mold had been hiding. His team remediated the shower itself along with the attic roof plywood sheeting and trusses which also had some mold growth. And THEN he even realized the mold went a little further beyond so they also removed a small area in the adjacent second bedroom and uncovered the other portion of that same mold stretch on the attic sheets and trusses of our roofing underside. After finding and treating it all, the verdict was that the outer roof (replaced new 5 years prior) was a likely source at one time of a leak, in addition to the contributions made by the shower area and steam buildup due to a 18-inch soffit dropdown lip from the ceiling forming a typical "shower cup" that traps steam and does not vent it properly. JJ also suggested (which we are now doing) to remove the soffit entirely and make it a smooth ceiling since we have a contractor already there and it is not load bearing, and to add a newer fan with humidity sensing if possible, to prevent a repeat of this happening. So they recommended smart things to do beyond just remediation and restoration. All of this operation was done under strict quarantine of the areas affected, sealing off the work areas with tape-sealed zippered access liner walls and appropriate ventilation and drying units, since you do not want anything to spread of be inhaled just in case. JJ was clear about the first estimate and then the second estimate in the adjacent bedroom once they realized they had to extend it. So pricing was both reasonable and accurately estimated. I was present for various stages seeing the progress and getting an explanation for anything I was curious about. Again, I would heartily recommend Green Planet for any services they offer, if this job is an indication of the quality and care they put into doing their work.

We called several emergency water restoration companies, but Green Planet Restoration was the only one able send someone out to access our situation that day. David, our field supervisor, thoroughly inspected the damage and gave us an honest and careful outlook about the restoration process. Optimistically planning on insurance coverage, but realistically expecting denial, he made sure that all work and costs were approved by us before and throughout the insurance process. Thankfully we ended up being covered, and David helped negotiate on our behalf. Olman, our project manager, was attentive and communicative. He kept us up to date with all the work and progress, and helped us coordinate with the workers we had coming and going for several weeks. The crew working on the house was excellent, too! Giovanni walked us through the work, and helped us when we wanted to make adjustments. We made some pretty drastic changes to our spaces, installing LVP in both rooms and painting the wall and ceiling a dark color in one of them. These big upgrades were easily handled. At no point did we ever feel like we were left hanging or out of the loop. Even throughout the payment process, with several hiccups with our insurance checks, they were kind, patient, and understanding. Green Planet Restoration and their team help make a nightmare of a situation much easier to manage. Thank you to the whole team!

Jesus and Brandon were respectful of the space -- for example, when they had to take down some heavy closet doors and lean them against a wall, they put a cloth between the doors and the wall so as not to scratch the wall. They suggested fixes that in my mind went above and beyond, such as putting a layer of primer on the sheathing to help it resist moisture, should my roof leak again in the future. Hopefully I'll never need them again in the future, but if I do, they'll be the ones I call first.

After that experience, I question both the company's substantive knowledge and their ethics. First, they used some pressuring tactics to try to get me to sign on for their services right away. They urged me to make a homeowners insurance claim right away, saying that the work would surely be more than my $5k deductible. I asked what if we just took some remediation efforts without a claim, and they said just having a dehumidifier and fan in here for several days would already run $3k so I might as well file the claim. They otherwise would not offer an actual estimate for anything. The next day when they reached out to follow up, I said I didn't think it was worth it to file a claim and be out $5k. They then miraculously said they could do remediation for $2-$3k without a claim. I also had them look at another area of the house where we had some mystery water but was now visibly dry. I thought it came from outside rain. The technician said we had a leak and needed a plumber. I got a plumber in later who removed dry wall to look for the leak. There wasn't one. The plumber seemed really trustworthy and replaced a part just in case and was not $$$. But seemed to badly reflect on Robinson.

He gave us an honest assessment to compare with the insurance adjustor, provided a ton of helpful additional info to two panicked first time homebuyers, and even brought out a dehumidifier for us until we could rent more. He was too booked out to take our mitigation job at the time- and was honest about that which is rare- but checked in with us to see after the fact to see how we were doing. He really does care about people making the best choice in a crappy situation. My whole family works in the building trades and you can just tell when someone is passionate about their work and treats the homes of their customers like it's their own. Having been through insurance-related water damage before, I knew I needed a construction company I could truly trust. Boulder Peak was the sixth company I interviewed--and the last. The moment Moses explained that they work directly with insurance companies, I was sold. He came prepared with an incredibly detailed estimate using the same software insurance adjusters use and fought hard on our behalf, from securing two coats of paint when insurance wanted to cover only one, to submitting change orders to bring our electrical up to code. Moses and Helaina were also fantastic design partners. They guided us through every decision, created multiple 3D renderings, and were endlessly patient when we changed our minds (more than once!). They even designed custom shower glass to accommodate our upgraded bench. The crew's workmanship was pristine--and that's saying a lot because I'm very particular. Today, we couldn't be happier with our new bathroom. I would 100% recommend Boulder Peak to anyone needing construction work, insurance-related or otherwise.

They took the time to investigate the problem thoroughly. Moses, the owner, brought in a certified structural engineer and identified that the garage hadn't been built to code, which contributed to the damage. They explained the scope of work clearly, including the need to rebuild the front of the garage and the deck above it to resolve both the structural and waterproofing issues. While their estimate wasn't the lowest, they were transparent about pricing and focused on doing the job properly rather than just a quick patch. Mauro, who led the on-site work, was methodical and took real pride in his craftsmanship. The crew stayed focused on our project instead of jumping between jobs, and they communicated well, always checking in about schedules and making sure things worked on our end. The repaired garage looks brand new. More importantly, it's solid and dry even after several rains. When some old wall stains resurfaced, they promptly returned to confirm there were no leaks, and repainted the area just to keep things perfect. We've already recommended this company to a friend and plan to work with them again next year. The re-build of wall, installation of window, new floor, trim, crawl space work and new siding are all well crafted. My husband tends to be a perfectionist, so while at times I felt he was being picky, the Revko team listened, discussed, and followed through as needed on everything.
