Since I bought my house I've wanted to do something about my backyard. There was a concrete pad…read morebehind my house but it was very unlevel, the concrete was busted up and the drainage situation was bad. I'd heard several good things about Custom Stoneworks and Design from my neighbors so I got in touch with Tony, the company's owner, and he came over to my place to come up with a plan and work up a cost estimate. After seeing my situation and discussing what I was looking for Tony got back to me fairly quickly with a price for the job. The cost was reasonable, but construction work had to wait a few weeks because he had a backlog of projects. Once the job was done I was extremely happy with the results. My backyard looks great and as far as I can tell no corners were cut and there was no sloppy work. There were a few minor unexpected issues with a drainage pipe but those were easily dealt with. The work did take longer than originally estimated (what was supposed to be a one day job turned into 2 & 1/2) but all I had to do was unlock my back gate before I left for work in the morning so the delay didn't really impact me. Another thing I was happy about was that Tony seemed to be familiar with the challenges of working on small city rowhouses. There's no convenient place to park a truck near my house and the only access to my backyard is through a narrow walkway. None of those were a problem although I'm sure it made life harder for the guys doing the work.

This year I had damage to an external drain pipe located under the back deck. Over the winter the underground pipe break caused sand to be washed over the stone stairway. Proactively Paul volunteered to fix the gutter pipe and the surrounding damage. It was a great added service and looks brand new.

His crew came out promptly, and was so courteous and hardworking. They helped wave me out of my driveway when I left for work, making sure no equipment was in the way. When we had to take out our new puppy, they were accommodating. They also worked through some rain and cleaned off our front porch/driveway! The worst experience I have ever had with any cleaning company. I hired them for a deep move-in…read morecleaning and paid them $400 for an empty unfurnished one bedroom apartment two weeks ago. They didn't finish half the items on the list to clean (such as kitchen cabinets and vents) even though these items were stated in the service agreement. They left dust balls everywhere. It it absolutely filthy (pictures of how they left my vents and cabinets attached). When I raised the issue with them, they said these were stains that couldn't be removed, but I wet one paper towel with water and was able to remove all the dust and stains. It's clear they didn't even try. They sent their team TWO times and their team rushed through and didn't clean most items, and when I flagged more spots that were left dirty, they asked to send their team a third time... absolutely ridiculous. I have no idea how they have 4.5 stars here. Do yourself a favor and go with another company. Merry Maids's customer service and quality of work is very poor and not worth the money whatsoever.

After having the deck replaced at my home, my mother wanted to have her old deck replaced. Since…read moreher deck was not elevated, I recommended looking into concrete or stone. I had followed Montana Concrete Pro on Facebook and loved their work. When I suggested looking into them, she insisted it would be too expensive, but we called to get a quote just to see. Ahmad came out and we explained that we were in the beginning stages and weren't really sure what we were looking for (concrete, decorative concrete or pavers). We saw other project that had sitting walls and firepits, but weren't really sure what we wanted. Ahmad was very understanding and transparent. He worked up a quote for each style and gave us pricing guidelines on added features (sitting wall, firepits, etc). He spent a few minutes explaining the benefits of each style. We let him know we'd have to talk things over and we'd get back to him. We did call two other companies to get prices Montana Concrete was similarly priced to one and more affordable to another. We chose Montana and Ahmad because they were more responsive, professional and transparent during the estimate process. We worked with Ahmad to create a final design, price quote and schedule the job. Because it was busy season (mid-June) we would have to wait until the first week in August. Two weeks later we got a call from Ahmad explaining they had another job in the area next week and he'd like to do our job at the same time since his crew would be in the area. We agreed and the job started the following week. The job was originally planned to take 5-7 working days, but there were a few minor delays due to rain and extreme heat. Even with the delays the job was completed in 8 working days. Ahmad was responsive and transparent about the delays. The finished product is amazing. Montana Concrete came back numerous times after the patio was complete to reseed grass, clean spots from the pavers and remove excess materials. They made sure we were satisfied in every way possible. My mother has received so many compliments from friends, family and neighbors. One neighbor commented that it looked like "something out of a magazine." I would recommend Montana Concrete to anyone.
