    Rib tip nachos

Food was okay. Atmosphere was pretty good. We went during a playoff wild card game. The rib tips were great . My chopped cheese not so much. But it's not the end of the world . Would go back maybe one more time to try a couple other things on the menu.

Roy's Tavern is a fairly new "sports bar" that sits in the old home of Henry James on Gallatin in Inglewood. While we are still mourning Henry James being no more, we decided to give Roy's Tavern a try, and we are glad we did. The essence of what we loved about Henry James is still there, but now with more TV's . We went during the off season for most major sports, so it was random racing, tennis and a few other things being shown around and behind the bar. We ordered a cocktail/beer and a few things to munch on. One of us got the Lemon Pepper wings and the other the short rib totchos. The wings were solid, but the totchos were impressive and tasty! Pricing was pretty decent with the totchos costing $14 and the wings $12, while the drinks were around $10. Only real gripe is it is all counter service, no table service. The bar gets packed and the line gets to be a bit much, which dissuaded us from ordering a second round of cocktails. I'm sure there is a good reason, but not a fan. Parking can be tricky here as the lot in back can get full quick, and when that happens, be careful. If that lot is full, then head across Gallatin and grab a spot along the roads. Overall, Roy's Tavern is a good spot. While we miss HJ, we welcome Roy's to the neighborhood.

It was my 1st time here and what a hidden gem in East Nashville. It was a great night to get out of the snow covered roads to play darts, eat chicken wings and a round of pool. The Bartenders are very attentive and the music although a little loud had a great selection of songs. Cute spot

A cool, classic sports bar. Full wrap around bar, pool table, darts, lots of different seating, patio. This is a cool place to come with friends. The drinks are good and the servers are great. I got the short rib totchos and those were really tasty. Fresh and hot. It's a lot so definitely share. My main complaint is there was way more toppings than short ribs. But I always have a good time at Roy's!

INGLEWOOD, NASHVILLE - When we talk about America used to be a proper country, that's another way of saying 'there used to be more places like Roy's Tavern.' It's not some generic brewpub. It's a bar. It's got a pool table and old, slightly beat up tile floor and it's kind of dark and there are a few TVs. This is what we need more of. Great vibe. Went on a Monday after work. Tons of avaible seating. Clean. Staff was attentive and prompt. No annoying classic rock you've heard a billion times on the jukebox - think Early James and Broncho. Beer selection: Decent, but not massive. A few local beers on draft or packaged. Food: Damn if that's not one of the best thin-crust pizzas I've ever enjoyed. A nice crunch but not Saltine cracker thin. Any pizza - $18-$26 - is easily a meal for 2-3. I had the Tavern Style, not knowing half of one would be more than enough, and was wowed. A nice spicy zest from the peppers went well with the saltiness of the sausage. Took a bunch of pizza with me to go. My Uber driver taking me from the Opryland Gaylord was telling me he never takes out-of-towners to Roy's, they all want to go to Broadway downtown to the tourist area, that Roy's is a quintessential fave of locals. So I got that thrill one gets of going into an ethnic restaurant and being the only white person there. In short, if I lived in Nashville, Roy's'd be my jam. As a brief visitor, best I can do is recommend this wholeheartedly.

Not a fan. First off they have beer signs in the restaurant and only had 1 IPA. The ipa was good…read moreI'll give them that. The menu is limited it's very sport bar kind of food. I ordered the wrap, all the ingredients tasted fresh but the wrap tasted very much like a gas station wrap. The turkey in it was not good and tasted cheap and old. The fries on the other hand were pretty good. The Mac and cheese was also very creamy and good. Service was absolutely terrible. When I ordered an IPA I just asked her to get me whatever she recommended. Her response was "I don't know I hate IPAs" okay, can't you ask a bartender for dealers choice. Ridiculous. We didn't great our drink order until sitting for 30 mins. We didn't get our food order for almost an hour after sitting and instead of asking us what we wanted to order they just came by to take the menus. I had to say "can't we order food" which made them stop and take our order. Terrible, terrible service. I've had better food, I'd go elsewhere.

Good food in an ideal location for pregame festivities…read more Stopped here to have an early dinner before Titans game. My friends and I sat outside and although it took awhile for our waitress to find us & get our food & drink orders I wouldn't fault them as it was packed prior to the game. I had the cheese curds as an app (large portions & very good) & the honey barbecue chicken tenders with fries. I wasn't a huge fan of the fries as they are thick and square cut which isn't my favorite style, but the chicken tenders were some of the best I have had. No stringy bits you often get at restaurants, just good fresh tasting chicken. Sauce was good as well. Would come back, the buffalo chicken chimichanga sounded really enticing

Not sure what all these high falutin corn pones are crying about. Its a dive sportsbar. In madison…read more With CHEAP ass drinks. C'mon people. This is actually one of my main joints. They have outdoor volleyball, huge outdoor seating/patio area, with cornhole. It sometimes looks like the aftermath of a rush week frat party, but that just means people were raging the night before and you missed out. Amirite? They've got 2 pool tables, snack candy food dispenser, video poker, jukebox, AND several old school arcade machines. They had them before all the hipster barcades started too popping up too, talk about OG bar fun I tell you. They have a deadbeat DJ playing top 40s and decent hiphop on weekends, with a solid sound system and great acoustics for the venue because of its lodge-esq feel and open air wooded infastructure. The fact that it turns into a dance club atmosphere with bass booms, lasers lights, and low lighting is a nice breath of fresh air compared to the honkey skonk suet downtown. Nothing special, just a nice dance club dive at night. This atmosphere also attracts hoodwinks, so be warned. Theyre all honestly harmless as long as youre not acting like a complete doucet - or wearing a certain gang color (sarcasm?). For demographics, this bar is par for the course in its neck of the woods. I hate that they dont serve drinks in real glasses though, only plastic. Theyve got a wide variety of TVs, not the biggest, but they do the job. They also have poker on Wednesday nights. The food is pretty decent, they actually use a grill. The grilled chicken sandwich is actually curiously fantastic.

What a total shithole. I went here once and that was all I needed. I'll never set foot in there…read moreagain. The food is awful, the customers and pure trash, and the bartenders are really good at putting their bodies on display to earn a few extra bucks. If you have any self respect, stay away.
