Everything was delicious! Collards were smoky with chunks of ham from ham hock. Mac and cheese was traditional baked southern style- closest I've ever had to my grandma's mac and cheese. My first time trying chicken livers, but my grandma said they were the best she's ever had. Caribbean coleslaw was delicious with a hint of pineapple juice. Pulled pork was some of the best I've had in SC. Truly smoked and pulled into chunks; not the mushy stringy bbq in most places in the area. Would recommend! ** Updating my review because I finally ate in the restaurant. It is located in a gas station, but it closed off from the store. It's tiny, but really clean. The owner is incredibly friendly and will always offer suggestions if you don't know what you want. I still think this is the best food in Lexington. Wow !! Out of a gas station. Who would have thunk it. We made a special trip over here just to try it out. We were not disappointed. Ordered the BBQ plate with ribs on the side (extra $4.00). My wife and split the whole plate. The prices were a little higher than expected, but the quality of food was higher too. I can tell everything was customized to their liking. The dry rub on the ribs was great and I'm not a huge fan of dry rub, but this made a believer out of me. The yellow BBQ sause had extra seasoning in it which tasted fantastic. It is great to see small restaurants doing great, cooking outstanding food. The people line up for lunch at this gas station. Be careful or you'll pass it by. read more

I really waited too long to try this place. It's hard to park there and hard to find a seat inside but the staff are great and the menu is excellent. I tried the pork nachos this time. Ok so I've been living here since January and I haven't been that impressed with the food locally..until now! I had read good reviews on this place but it's in a gas station so I was hesitant..that was my mistake because the food was fantastic! I got the bbq plate with ribs,potato salad, and a rice dish kinda like dirty rice. They have five different bbq sauces to choose from or you can mix them together like I did. I ordered my coworker a plate to go and some Philly cheesesteak egg rolls to try and they were delicious. It's the best we've had since we moved here from Oklahoma. I know people around here say Carolina is the birthplace of BBQ. Maybe, IDK. I can tell you that Texas, Kansas City, and Oklahoma smoke their meats with flavor... And this is the same! You don't need sauce, although the "sweet & spicy" sauce is the bomb. Their mac & cheese has some of their smoked bacon, and it is awesome! Guys, he MAKES his own bacon. The collards are really good. Not sweet, (personally, I do not like sweet collards), but have a lil tang to them with chunks of pulled pork. The bacon potato salad... Delicious! We had ribs & pulled pork. Both were tender and juicy, and the ribs fell off the bone. Now I want to try everything! Breakfast. And the pulled pork nachos I've been reading about. This is a great little place in Lexington. One of the best things about this place is the owner, Chris! He's really friendly and works hard to make sure you have a great experience. He named the Place after his grandfather. We had the Bacon Jalapeño Pimiento cheese burger and split the bread pudding they both were delicious. It is absolutely delicious and the staff is very friendly. The cook definitely knows what he's doing on that Grill because he doesn't just cook he creates works of art. We've visited more than our share of barbecue restaurants over the years and this one would be right there at the top. My wife and I were driving through town and found this place inside a gas station. As soon as you step out of the car, you're greeted by the aroma of a smoker cooking around the side of the building. That's got to be one of my favorite smells in the world. I ended up ordering the ribs and my wife ordered the pulled pork. The meat on the ribs was absolutely falling off of the bone and the pulled pork had no need for sauce. The smoked flavor was that good. The only sides I tried were the collard greens and fried okra. Both of them were very solid. In fact this is one of the first restaurants I've been where I thought their collards were better than the ones I make. We live an hour away, but we will be coming back up here very soon! read more

Ok, so if you're concerned that this place is in a gas station, don't be! The place is clean and though the seating area is small, it was spotless when we were there. The food was all incredible. From the chicken wings to the mac & cheese to the SMOKED RIBEYE SANDWICH, everything was obviously made with care and know-how.
