Having moved down to South Carolina six years ago, & given the hyper local establishments nearby my home that offer something I can only say somewhat passes for a gyro sandwich, Gyromania Grill far exceeded my expectations, and passion for an Authentic gyro, the kind I recall from up in New York yonder. From the moment I walked into the restaurant, and was greeted by Sheila, to receiving my Hummus appetizer with pita bread triangles, to receiving my Gyro pita sandwich, I couldn't believe how authentically tasty & delicious the food was. The food is prepared fresh on the spot, nothing laying around in heating hampers, from the french fries that are cut fresh daily, and fried when ordered, to the veggies that garnish the Gyro, to the freshly prepared tzatziki, my taste buds exploded with excitement at how delicious everything tasted. Honestly, I never expected to have that sensation of a well prepared Gyro the likes of what I recalled from NY, down here in S.C. but alas, I found *THE* spot for authentic, Great tasting Greek food. The restaurant itself is bright, open, VERY CLEAN! (I mean, Extreme Clean!) You can tell the employees take pride in presenting the establishment and the food they serve in the spotlight. Watching the staff behind the counter prepare the food, I noted how friendly and happy everyone was, no "fanny frowner /why am I here" faces, and compared to oh so many other food establishments I've been to, that impressed me a lot. I originally was going to order the lemon potatoes with my gyro, but they weren't prepared when I ordered, yet once they were, Sheila and her assistant surprised me by bringing by a little sample for me to taste, so next time I come in, I will absolutely enjoy them with my order, but the greek seasoned fries that came with my Gyro were trey`delicious just the same! The restaurant atmosphere is nice, I got there right before the lunch crowd, so it wasn't too crowded, I'm told sometimes the place can get really packed (no doubt, people enjoy eating delicious & tasty food, & Gyromania Grill delivers that!) The portions are decent, the prices very reasonable, the staff is friendly, and even if you have to drive a little out of the way to get there (as I did) it's well worth the effort. We were wanting to order a side of Saganaki cheese but the owner said he had to stop selling it as nobody ordered it. We were shocked. Apparently most people don't know what it is. Being from the Chicago area that was a key thing at all the Greek restaurants and we've never found anyone in town that made it. The first two times we went here we had it and it was very good. The Gyros we had were huge...really packed with lamb and all the fixings. The only thing we found wrong was the tzatziki sauce was put at the bottom of the pita. With all the fixings and everything that went on top of it you really only tasted the Tzatziki when you took a bite of the bottom. The meat and everything else is really piled on, so if you eat from the top there's no sauce. It would be nice if they would put a schmear of sauce along the whole pita and possibly some halfway in the gyro...or else give you a side of tsatziki to dip it in. They do sell it if you want to order extra. I'll do that next time. Nice place....good food. Their pricing for meals (salmon, etc) is about like the pricing you'd expect at a nice restaurant. Hopefully business will keep going well for them as there's really not much out in the northeast side as far as Greek food.

They do things "old school " where pride and service and caring still matters and why they make flan from scratch. It's why their Margaritas are enormous and Sangrias have fresh fruit because that little extra means something. Our server Gigi said they are remodeling next week so now it will be even better. This is my second run-in with her. Today, I get to the window (after waiting about 30 minutes in line), wanting to make sure my order is correct (because the previous day it was not and I had to pay again), I ask her to check to make sure all items were on the ticket. She acted like she was annoyed, had other things to do and that I didn't matter. I frequent this location regularly and anytime I interact with her she is curt with me displaying no customer service etiquette or the ability to listen. She appears to have no respect for people and act as though she has a right to unload her misery on others. This employee needs to be trained (or re-trained) on appropriate/respectful conduct when interacting with customers/the public or find another line of employment. My patronage pay the salaries of the employees and a little kindness goes a long way.
