My husband and I have only received Royce chocolates as a gift, and it's one of the best gifts we've gotten. It is perfect for a special occasion or just as an indulgent treat. I was happy to see Royce at Washington Square. We've only previously tried the Nama Chocolate Au Lait (Milk Chocolate) so that is what we got during our first visit here. The Nama Chocolate has to stay refrigerated so it's packed with an ice pack. The texture and consistency is unlike chocolate that may change when it's refrigerated. Its smooth texture is soft and creamy. It melts in your mouth. It tastes like a good quality delicate truffle. During our second visit, we wanted to tried other Nama Chocolate flavors. I bought the Nama Bitter (Dark Chocolate) after sampling it in store. I also got the Nama White Chocolate. The other flavors had the same delicate and memorable texture with classic flavor profiles that you expect from a dark or white chocolate. I look forward to trying other things from Royce, which is why I signed up for their rewards program. The service has been excellent as they were eager to answer questions if it's your first time or if you are frequent customer. Royce is 5 stars for their chocolates and service.

Several different flavors of raw (refrigerated) chocolate.

It's a little expensive to have all the time but it does taste good. We tried a couple of chocolate discs types and we bought a box of the raw chocolate. I really enjoyed it.

Sarah helped us with our samples & tours - super friendly & informative. They have a variety of delicious & decadent chocolate with a rich history of craft & flavor.

Having enjoyed the champagne Pierre Mignon nama chocolate before, I felt it was time to go back because I needed a Mother's day gift in the absence of going out to celebrate. I forgot to take photos of the actual boxes I bought, so I attached my receipt and stock photos. My mom's favorite was the Rum. Unlike the other alcohol flavors, you could actually taste the rum. I approve this flavor! But too bad it was a seasonal only flavor! There is only other flavor in which you can taste the alcohol, and that is the whiskey flavor. This one tasted super odd to me, it was the only one I didn't like. I thought something was off with it, but apparently that's how it's supposed to taste. I was told if you like the Port Charlotte Scottish barley drink, perhaps you will like this one too. The Bitters wasn't much bitter, which is good. It actually reminds me of the Ecuador Sweet flavor. The latter has no alcohol, but the alcohol is so very faint anyway in all of them except for the 2. They raised the prices since my purchase. They also only give you points in certain increments, so 2 boxes gets you points for 2 boxes. 3 boxes gets you points only for 2 boxes again. You have to buy 4 to get the points for 4. No other rewards program does that, it's always been based on actual dollar value spent. It seems unfair. I also think they should offer more samples so people know what they're buying in advance. They only sample one pre determined flavor. The people that work here are always super friendly. Song, the district or regional manager is incredibly nice and customer service oriented!

Employees are always kind and the chocolate is amazing! Perfect stop for a gift. Chill atmosphere, and they always have samples!

Love buying my Christmas gifts each year @ Royce!!! The Nama chocolate is perfect for all my family and friends!

I want to try them all! These chocolates are so amazing. Their ingredients are impeccable, sourced in Japan. A dear friend's wife is from Japan and I was treated to Japanese chocolate from him. Explaining to people that the best chocolates I have had are from Japan gets strange looks but it is true. This time I got their macadamia nuts covered in mill chocolate. They are packed in four separate packs which is perfect! Each one is soooo amazing. I love how many options you have for gifts or yourself. Self care is important - chocolate qualifies and I definitely plan to drop the $8.99 here and there for one of their chocolate bars. Watching the very sweet associate bag up the macadamia nuts was crazy amazing. I almost did not want to open it later to get to the chocolates....almost.....

I have had Royce' chocolate for years since discovering it in Japan and Las Vegas. Previously, the only way I got my hands on some was in Las Vegas and to travel home with these goodies was an operation. I had to plan my trip around so that I can grab them right before my flight since it needs to be kept cold. Now it's so easy! I got to taste 3 products that I haven't tried (because I keep sticking with what I love) and have found some new favorites. Additionally, I learned about the history of Royce' and had no idea it's been around since 1983! I ended up purchasing a couple chocolates including my newly discovered favorites too. Staff were so gracious and even beautifully gift wrapped my treats.

We got the Hokkaido chocolate tasting box and the chocolate with yuzu toffee flavor. Is beautifully wrapped up and almost to pretty to open! Because the chocolate is so fresh, it has a shorter shelf life than Hershey. Excellent service.

Order: Nama Chocolate "Bitter" & Nama Chocolate "Mild Milk" Pros: Omg this chocolate is so decadent. It's like velvet on your tongue. I thoroughly enjoy eating these pieces of chocolate as I love dark chocolate. The presentation and the packaging is top tier. The location is nice and bright and the service folk are so nice. Cons: n/a

Such a treat to experience Royce' chocolate. Yummy chocolate- a little on the spendy side, but the value seems well worth it. They use the finest ingredients and made in Northern Japan. There are only 23 locations in all of the US. The gal working was super nice and helpful; very relaxed and chill vibes. She guided me to the darkest chocolate for my mom - 80-90% dark (mild & extra bitter) chocolate! I also got a box of creamy milk and white chocolate, and a white chocolate bar! They had an assortment of many different kind of flavored chocolates. Definitely stop in for those chocolate lovers and great for a last minute gift!

The beverages were however very nice, and I recently had the cobbler dessert and it looked amazing and tasted better. We had the coffee (Extracto, love.), I had a really good hef and my mother a very well balanced Bellini that I was very pleasantly surprised with trying. From what I saw, the lunch sounds very good and I'd be more apt to recommend folks give that a shot if they happened to be going there too. I'm not sure if I'd recommend as a must go stop. Vibe wise, the ambience is overall really nice. I think having rolled flatware, even with just upgraded napkins, would better complete the aesthetic you initially see and feel. This would also connect with the price point of the food and quality of the beverages. As a fellow server, on that note I would expect more consistent stronger visual appearance standards with servers. (Sorry guys! But some of you looked great!) Overall, I'd definitely join a friend for coffee and lunch over there in the future. Just wouldn't be my top pick for a celebratory brunch or intimate dinner with a date or friends and fam.
