Lollipop and Pops is a beautiful shop with great curb appeal, or rather "mall" appeal, since they are located in Washington Square. So cute, like the name, I had to wonder in. Inside is bright, with sherbet colored green walls, lots of shelves and tables stocked with beautifully wrapped candy, gift assortments, boxes of chocolates, novelty candy, gummies, lollipop, and even candy from around the world, including a large variety of Asian candies. For those wanting just an individual piece of chocolate or wanting to create a custom purchase, the counter holds individual pieces of a variety of chocolates. They have all the usual suspects - truffles, salted chocolate caramels, chocolate with nuts, cream filled and more. It was October, so there was a section dedicated to fall colors and Halloween, with candy coming in black cat boxes, candy that resembles an eyeball, witch, ghost, and of course, candy corn. Never understood the appeal of candy corn, you either love it or avoid it, but it's definitely representative of the season. Candy here is priced high, so it's more like a treat or gift, not an everyday purchase. As many have said before, this place is pretty spendy but the stuff they sell all tastes delicious. It's always fun to window shop and ask about their products. The staff seemed extremely friendly and down-to-earth while having a lot of good suggestions on what would best fit our tastes. I stopped by Lolli & Pops in Portland after seeing the Dubai chocolate bars all over TikTok. I went with the pistachio one, and it was honestly so good. The chocolate is super smooth, and the inside has this rich pistachio cream with little crunchy phyllo bits. Sweet, nutty, and just the right amount of texture--really different from anything I've had before. Yeah, it's a little pricey (about $20), but it's a big bar and feels like something special. Definitely more of a splurge or a gift type of thing. They also had hazelnut and cookies & cream versions, which I'm probably going back for. I guess cuteness does really have a price tag ! I stopped by to try them out and honestly didn't feel that the taste or the variety justified of how they are priced. For almost 4 bucks a piece , I thought they were way overpriced. I did like the Tiramisu dessert that I got and it could be a good gift but I know many other candy shops in Portland that can do what Lolli and Pops is doing and at a more reasonable price. I was in the store today, looking for some candy with my little sister. We were walking to the back of the store looking at the candy and my sister heard a worker say I'm following them back there. Then continue to follow us. Was watching what we did and we were just looking at candy. Then out of nowhere she says if you're going to goof off, get out, I was looking at candy. I am a Mexican woman I think this woman was profiling me because of my color. I was about to buy candy and then got disrespected for no reason. I was literally looking at the candy and reading them to my sister. The disrespect that she gave me for no reason is absolutely not OK! This hands down, is the best mall candy store I have ever been to. The size vs quality is amazing. They are clean, well organized, and have a huge gummy selection (and yes that is the cats meow of snack candy I feel). The Asian products here are heavy, they have some cool items for a westerner candy store for sure. Nothing to 'exotic' but all the fun stuff I grew up eating and enjoying. The higher end chocolate bars are also full in effect. There are many many higher end bars scattered around the islands. I know I saw some very good looking stone ground chocolates (my favorite) and other brands that looked quite amazing. Their truffles and small chocolates look good, but nothing amazing or anything that is a game changer, so usually i walk by to the huge, huge bulk section. Some favorites are the various gummies you can't find most places. My favorite overall is the chocolate covered gummies, these in milk and white chocolate are always my 'go to' espech when frozen (pro tip) this place has the king. Even so, Lolli and Pops is the hippest place in the Washington Square mall in Tigard to get your sweet dose of fructose and diabetes. Yummy candy, but over priced. I got the mini pails since that's a good deal. I don't live anywhere near a store, so when I come up to visit, I stock up. My favorite is the pina colada gummy bears. I smash as many as I can into my pail haha. The employees have no idea what they are talking about; one employee told me the small pail was the best deal and another. They have the most extensive "gummy" candies by the pound that I have ever seen. They are on the pricey side for the out of country candies, but you can find some great deals too. I was at Lolli and Pops yesterday, and I love the store itself. I ended up getting a few things and some truffles. When the guy at the register was ringing me up I was so focused on the truffle case I didn't completely hear the price he quoted me, but handed over my card anyway. Today I went to look at the receipt, and realized that the truffles were properly priced but the other items I had gotten were doubled! I know this is partially my fault for not paying close enough attention, but you would think that if you were in charge of people's money, you would be paying pretty close attention as well. Anyway, I would love to think that it was an accident and I am at fault for not paying close enough attention. But my price was $20 more than it should've been, and I can't help but wonder if it was on purpose. read more

Yes folks the old timey candy shoppe is back and better than ever in the form of Lolli and Pops! While I had absolutely no business being in here after detoxing from the stuff since mid-August, it was cool checking out nostalgia in it's finest form. My friend knew good and well that this was not the place to bring me after losing 141lbs but I thank him for it because I would've never known this kind of place was making a comeback. I also was able to manage to undress those wrappers with my eyes, not my hands which in and of itself is a sheer miracle! This place has it all and even the staff look like old timey candy store clerks! I was extremely dissapointed in the peanutbutter truffles i bought. Dont get me wrong the shop was very nice. Well laid out very friendly and inviting atmosphere. For one truffle its nearly 4 bucks so im thinking these must be amazing. Got 2 truffles. One dark and one milk chocalate. The peanutbutter tastes very funny. Incredibly welcoming and friendly atmosphere, employees have great sense of humor and really lure you in. Sadly, was absolutely disappointed. One, for the price (which I was hoping to be worth it, after all, everything looks to be "gourmet") and 2, I popped one of the Birthday Cake Cookie Dough chocolates and was immediately met with a foul soap-like flavor, which turned into a barf/rotten piece of poop. I tried chewing for 5 seconds to see if it was me, but regretted every second. I brushed my teeth and had my husband try, and he spat it out and described the sake barf flavor. Tried my luck with a white chocolate covered oreo, tasted like blood or high amounts of iron. BUT! The jelly beans tasted normal, and the dark chocolate espresso beans tasted delicious, but never trying my luck here again. Better luck with your local grocery store. read more

There is another location in Los Gatos, CA that I went to last year and I so enjoyed the atmosphere and collection. So, when I saw the sign for Lolli and Pops while at Washington Square, I was super excited. This candy store is not in Hawaii, my old home, and so I'm stoked to find this Disney like store here in my new home, Oregon! The selection of worldly sweets is a dream come true. While the prices are a smidgen higher than 7/11s and Safeways, the quality is much higher. You get what you pay for here. I also love that the shop employees dress up and embrace the environment. They are happy to share samples and give you recommendations based on candies you already enjoy. Moreover, the store is sparkly and shiny clean. I used to love this store but today I took my daughter to get her jar refilled and they raised their refill price to $8!! When we purchased the jar not too long ago we were promised $5 refills. I have been into this store many times due to the fact I work at the same mall and love to get a quick sweet treat. I have been 5 or more times due to buying the mason jar which gives me a good deal, other than that I would say it is very expensive for what it is. Sadly, I am never greeted and never offered samples like my other co workers are. Each time I've gone in I have the same problem with my rewards points as well. They tell me that my phone number has two accounts. We go back and fourth and eventually they always get my points in there. I have been in over 5 times and spent for sure 35 or more. I have not yet received any reward which the first reward is 25 points and 35 points. I then went online and tried to look at my points. It said I had 0 and never made one purchase. A few days later I emailed them to ask what happened to all my points. I have not received a email back in the past week. Very disappointing because I love the candy so much. This candy shop is very awesome. The decor alone leaves you in awe. It's just beautiful, and they play such nice old 20,s-40's music. It is spotless clean, the candy is organized perfectly, and the employees are all dressed adorably in outfits that match a vintage candy shop feel. They are so knowledgable and friendly too!
