Outstanding customer service! Mila and Taylor are simply wonderful employees at this store; they both provide top-notch service to me and every other customer. They are two of my absolute favorite See's Candies employees. They deserve a raise or generous bonuses--their hard work should be better compensated! They are incredibly hardworking and responsible employees. Mila holds down two jobs: she works both in security and at See's Candies. It is a very demanding job--one that also involves a certain amount of risk. Yet she loves helping people--she is simply a wonderful young woman! She deserves higher pay for the magnificent service she provides to every single customer. I just want everyone to know what a truly remarkable person Mila is. May God bless her and her work! WENDY & TOBI embody old school customer service with their sweet, kind, knowledgeable care. OMGoodness and if the other customers in the shop did not review hear me when I tell you those ladies took exquisite care of all guests!! Me, I'd had quite a day. Not awful but a barrage of stupidity from two colleagues and some other luxury annoyances. When I walked into sees to buy my children a lollipop (lost to one in game of chess) and wanted to get my boss a few chocolates. I was greeted by Wendy and Tobi Soon as I walked in. A new flavor scotchmallow was out and tasty bought some and some brittle along with nougat. Anyway nothing like people who extend a kindness. this is easy to get to, and really feels like a vintage candy shop that might have the owner in the back making the treats... but it is not. it is a chain, but hides it well. you will pay top dollar, but will get high end products. the staple is the See's sampler box, a must for first time visitors. Another great See's Candy location! I'm in Lake Oswego frequently and so a quick pop in here, right off of Lower Boones Ferry, is convenient when you need a chocolate fix or a gift. The store is bright, well lit, clean and always fully stocked with the classics and seasonal offerings. Within a minute of entering, you are offered a sample from the friendly reps that work there. Take it! Today I sampled the dark chocolate coffee scotchmallow, a seasonal twist on their classic scotchmallow adding a deep coffee flavor to compliment the dark chocolate, caramel and marshmallow. One is all you need as it's quite decadent and easily 4 bites. It's my new fave! Only available March-May while they last. Plenty of parking right out front and easy access to I-5. read more

If you've never had a chocolate Bordeaux, stop reading and go get one as a splame. Back? OK! See's are the best organized brick-and-mortar retail stores I've ever seen. You can order in advance and skip the holiday lines for pick-up. You can sample any item in the store for free. The staff is always friendly, and knows their products in depth (what's in them, how long they keep, how do they do in a checked airline bag, ...). They have convenient locations with plenty of parking or foot access. And they staff up with appropriate levels of "help" who actually are both helpful and lack the usual "sigh" attitude you get from part-time retail clerks who'd rather be on their cell phone with friends. read more

For me, the Gold Standard in candy. Can't say much about this location as it's not in my home town, however....from the various other locations I've been to, it rates along the same lines as all other Sees store fronts. Here is the basic rundown: Walking into a Sees store is like stepping back in time. First thing you notice is the smell. Heavenly. Enticing. It's the mecca of chocolate-y goodness. Second thing you'll notice is the white. White boxes. Black and white tiled floor. Gals in white uniforms (much like nursing uniforms of old). White, white, white. Depending on how busy they are (peak times are Christmas, Valentines, Mother's Day, etc.) you'll probably be greeted with a smile and sample. Sometimes, the "busy-ness" lends itself to crowd control poles & velvet ropes if you are stopping in at one of those peak times. Otherwise, the layout is pretty much the same. Pre-boxed candies for quick purchase are always on display but the real pleasure comes in admiring the delicacies behind the glass. Much like one would ooo and ahh over the donuts at a donut shop or ice cream at an ice cream parlor....at Sees Candies, you can pick and choose your selection to go in a 1/2 pound....1 pound...or 2 pound box. "I'll take two of those. One of those. Three of those. One of those. Six of those. How much is that? How many more can I get?" To be honest, we usually just get a half pound box of our favorites: Raspberry Creams. Usually about dozen pieces of mouth watering goodness. Still, to each their own. Sees Candy doesn't even hold a candle to those other brands. Russell Stover....ick. Closest thing ever is Godiva. But when it's all said and done, Sees rocks our world. A true sweet treat for special occasions. It is with some degree of relief that we don't have a local outlet in our town. Otherwise, I'd be topping the scales at 300 lbs. read more

I've been a See's fan since I could eat solid food. Delicious candies! There are a few I miss, such as the mint truffles that are not white chocolate - apparently these are only available in the winter, and the Mallow Mint (??) - can't remember if that's the real name. Those are long discontinued. But they keep making plenty of my favorites. Oh yes, and plenty of samples. This is their bulk shop. You can still get individual pieces of candy, and also all the same boxed candy, but if the company you work for provides See's discounts (such as at the holidays), you can bring in your company ID and get the 10% discount on all boxed candy ANY TIME OF THE YEAR. How awesome is that? Pretty sweet deal if you ask me. read more

Nearly everyone has heard of See's Candies, most people have eaten one--it's an American suburban mall staple. How can you go wrong with chocolate? Portland has many wonderful locally-owned, artisan chocolate shops, but there is something familiar and nostalgic about entering a gleaming white See's shop, being greeted by a clerk in the See's uniform, and offered a sample chocolate EVERY time. They are selling more than just chocolate here, its an experience. Like that infrequent craving for McDonald's french fries, once in a while you need to make the trip to See's. I send Nuts & Chews to my friend who moved to France--in Paris, where there are fine chocolatiers on nearly every block. There is something for everyone here, even for those on restricted diets. My favorites are milk chocolate Peppermints or Scotchmallows. read more
