Very mediocre food, super boring spice levels, nothing authentic about it, bad cocktails. And on top of that over-priced!

I heard that Berlin has a great international food scene and this restaurant absolutely proves that point! I came in on a Sunday evening after three friends ran the marathon so we were certainly hungry! Two friends started with the gin and tonic and myself and the other split a bottle of white. For starters we all shared the Prince Tunatic Roll, Steamed Royals Bao Dumpling and the Summer Rolls. The sushi menu wasn't too extensive as anticipated, but the tuna roll was so yummy it didn't matter. Two of us had the beef pho which was the perfect cozy meal that evening - order the large as the smaller size is a tiny bowl, the server informed us. Our other friends had the beef noodle bowl and the pork belly bowl - both looked excellent! It's been a couple of weeks and I am still listing this as one of my best dining experiences in Berlin! I had no issue paying our bill with a card so it's incredibly unfortunate to see the payment system ruined the dining experience for many Yelpers! Interieur: Cozy and urban interieur with many details and lights, which creates a warm atmosphere-perfect to have a talk or just to hang out with your beloved ones. Food: Vietnamese/Asian fusion cuisine which is tasty and good but not overwhelming. An interesting variety of starters - worth to try- and fresh drinks. Main dishes are mostly solid curry dishes but not spectacular. Service: A very warm welcome. R&R have one of the best services in Berlin, I have experienced so far. This is a must for me while visiting Berlin, great Asian fusion for a better price. The restuarant is decorated in a contemporary and cool interior. Although the big stonetables, the restaurant invites a feeling of warmth. I highly recommend booking a table in advance if you plan a visit, especially during the weekend. Really nice place to go on a warm evening, they have a very cozy terrace/backyard. The burger was great - especially for coriander lovers - you have thay asian flavour in your burger: yum. They also have great cocktails, i found it not so easy to find a good whiskey sour and they made me a great one! The service was friendly, not too persistent. The prices are a bit higher than average Berlin prices I would say, but it is still fine, because it is worth it. To sum up: I had a great evening there with good food and good drinks. read more

The decoration is cool and suitable for the hip Mitte area. The Team is very friendly and quick . We were passing this place for three years. We heard good stuff, so we finally said let's give it a go. We ordered their award-winning burgers with sweet potatoes, fresh cucumber lemonade and mango lassi. Extremely fast serving (under three minutes), very friendly staff, however the actual food and drinks - wow, what a disappointment. The sweet potato was a generic factory cut - exactly the same as you get in the cheapest burger joints. The burger was in general hard to eat - it was not included in a paper, so everything was falling out of the bun. The meat was not marinated, so it had no special taste whatsoever, and was on top of everything, quite dry. There was only a tiny piece of avocado. Etc. The "fresh" cucumber lemonade was made out of store-bought sirup, while the mango lassi was made out of store-bought powder. There was no freshness about them. The only thing we took from this was a full stomach, but that's not a reason one enters such a place. We wouldn't mind all this if prices were 50% lower, however for a 10+ € burger in Berlin one expects non-generic ingredients and in general superb eating. If you care only about the environment and good service, and if you want to look hip, this is a place for you. But if you care about good food, avoid it by any means. Not bad, but not amazing. The place is really cool, I was there in the afternoon so it was pretty empty and very quiet which I really liked. The music was great and I had a very relaxing time. I ordered the Monday special : duck with spicy curry sauce. The duck in itself was alright even tho there wasn't a lot of actual meat on it, but the sauce wasn't really at my taste. The menu said it was supposed to be spicy, but I would have liked it a bit more spicy, and I'm not a usual super spicy eater so I guess it's just not really spicy. Also, the sauce was quite sweet which I didn't expected (I usually like sweet and salty food but this was just too much) and I ended up finding it a bit disgusting. So I would say it's an average place, with a nice venue and nice staff and I'm sure some other dishes of their menu must be better. read more

It's the basic bitch of Vietnamese food. It's all bells and whistles. But their burgers do pretty well at the burgers and hip-hop event, but everything else felt like it had no flavor, no love, no effort. Don't let the nicely decorated interior distract you from the fact the cuisine is vanilla AF. read more

Friendly service and great with allergies! Lots of Gluten Free options. The menu labels the gluten free, nut free and vegetarian options. The serving sizes were a bit smaller than we had expected but the food was good quality and the last time we came here they had live music in their beer garden (which is set up very well). read more

Finally a place that serves hoisin sauce with their Pho! I've tried a few sushi rolls, appetizers, the duck, and Pho and everything was very tasty! I also really like their courtyard in the summer. On Fridays, there is live music as well! read more

So I found out about this place from reading a blog called stilinberlin, I totally recommended it if your are looking for nice food spots to check out whilst in Berlin. Rice & Royals (such a cool name) is a Vietnamese restaurant which reminded me of busaba in London, although busaba is Thai not vietnamese. The decor looked like a cross between a London pub and a South East Asian restaurant, and I mean this is in a good way. The owners clearly went out of their way to ensure the restaurant mixed the elements of Asian inspired cuisine with a modern edge, quite classy. I was immediately impressed. I was seated by a super cute Vietnamese girl who quickly suggested I try the house special cocktail. I can't remember the name of it now, but it tasted exceedingly good. After glancing at the menu I zoomed into the crispy fried duck with orange sauce, served with coconut milk rice and a side of salad. I also opted for some meat spring rolls to compliment as a starter. When the dish arrived I was thoroughly impressed with the presentation and was eager to sample it. Using the chop sticks enhance the experience by eating them South East Asian way I began slowly picking at the selec prices of food. Everything on the plate had flavour and a good level of freshness, nothing tasted 'A few days old', as I have encountered in many independent cuisine establishments back in London. The duck was amazing, encrusted with a fried batter to the edges and succulent right through. The Orange sauce was a mixed blend of flavours with an orange sweet taste, but not overbearingly sweet., just right. And the fluffy white coconut milk rice had just the right amount of stickiness to it, with it still being able to separate nicely. Yum!!! I quickly derived that this was I one of the best south East Asian dishes I have ever tried. It was a real delight. The cute waitress came back and asked how everything was and I gave her my seal of approval. I was quite chuffed from the experience. Overall a great experience and good food, attentive and friendly staff. The bill came to 20euro there abouts which is only maybe a few quid less than London. But I thought it was reasonable given the quality of the food. Definite recommend if ever in Berlin, Tip They take card! Phew Parking outside although you need to pay from 4pm to 10pm, not much though, ew euros. Atmosphere and design was good, the price-to-quality ratio was low. Went there and tried the lunch menu. 3.40 Euros for a very small mango lassi with ice in it, 6.50 for a conservatively-portioned bowl of bun. It was tasty, but the kind of meal that won't stick to your ribs. Menu promised cucumber kim chi in the bun, but none was in evidence. Asked the waiter for it, and he did provide it immediately. Service overall was fast and helpful, just wish the portions had been larger for lunch! read more

Food was good and location is also nice but I have expected a bit more. The burger received some good comments on the web and I have to say it was good, but certainly not the best I had in Berlin so far. We also had the papaya salad as a side dish which was also good but way overpriced. Overall I have to say that given the prices the portions are small. If you want to go there try the lunch option, the prices for lunch are much more reasonable for the quality of the food. read more

All in all we had a great time here and would always come back. The service was very friendly and the food surprisingly deliscious. The burger here is an exotic experience (the good way). Prices are a little higher but probably reasonable for the area. This is about their delivery service, but if it is any reflection of their restaurant service I would stay away. I ordered delivery service from them tonight, waited over 45 minutes for my order after which I got a phone call from them saying that the kitchen was too busy to complete my order and I had the option of waiting another 60 minutes to get my food or to cancel the order. I can understand a kitchen being busy, but in this case, DON'T ACCEPT ANY DELIVERY ORDERS or have the decency to call your customers sooner to give them the option to find food elsewhere. It's now 10pm, most of the restaurants in my vicinity are closed and if I try to do a last minute order from Foodora/Deliveroo/Lieferando, I still have to wait another 30-40 minutes for food and I was already pretty hungry to begin with and decided to wait the 45 minutes for delivery since they claimed their Bao Burger was a 4 time winner and something worth waiting for. I suggested that perhaps he could have just refused my order once they realized how backed up the kitchen was, since this is not something that takes 45 minutes to develop, and my order was just a friggin burger which doesn't take a ton of prep or cooking time and I had placed my order at 8:45pm which is already peak restaurant hours in Berlin. That kitchen was already backed up before they even took my order if they couldn't execute a burger in 45 minutes so just refuse the order to begin with. I also suggested that the polite thing to do would be at the very least offer to send me the food for free or give me some type of discount, since it would take 2 hours to get my food from the time at which I ordered to the time in which I could finally eat, to which he laughed and declined. I'm not surprised, considering Berlin has the worst customer service ever, but I'm so hangry that I am going to have to go to a späti and buy a frozen pizza for dinner. :P Considering all the positive feedback this restaurant has gotten I was hopeful that they may be one of the places in Berlin that actually upped their game with quality service but I guess it's not. If it takes them over 2 hours to make a Bao Burger and fry up some frozen sweet potato fries, I don't even want to know how poorly that kitchen is being managed. I'd give this transaction -5 stars if I could. I'm also just so damn hungry right now and I still took the time to write a scathing review because that's how pissed off I am about waiting an hour for no food. my friends and i loved this place so much. we came here three days in a row and i always tip 20% even though you don't have to here. the workers know us and our orders because we are here so often. today their credit/debit card machines broke and we didn't have euros and they made us walk .5 miles to an ATM in the pouring rain. i work in restaurant and business back in the states and they would never make us walk in the rain to get money for their broken machines. very upset and will not be returning. €17 plus a €10 ATM charge and soaking wet. read more

On the bright side, this restaurant has a cool interior. Walking in there, I really wanted to like the place as it just had a good vibe. The place had five stars until we had the food. The food is on the expensive side for comparable food in Berlin, especially considering cheap ingredients. The food is OK, not more than that, and the portions are small. There are many other places in Berlin where you can get similar food of much better quality, and more generous portions. I had their "famous" burger. It was overcooked and very small for the amount of money they charge. Service was decent, but this is one of those places in Berlin trying to rip off tourists by printing on the receipt that the tip is not included and then suggesting you leave 19%. Haha. this was my favorite place. I went here three days in a row. The food was so good that I cried eating it. BUT. I WILL NEVER GO BACK. This restaurant advertises that they accept cards, and we have used cards here 100% of the times we have eaten here.Tonight their card machine was broken. We tried three different cards. The woman insisted we had no money. We showed her our account balances. She continued to blame us and acted unprofessionally rude, insinuating that we were trying to steal our food. We were told to get cash from a nearby atm (which charged me a large transaction fee) by walking in the rain as they held one member of our party hostage, giving her looks of contempt and instilling terror in her. We have been here so many times that they know our orders. Clearly we would not step out on our bill. The behavior of the staff was honestly so terrible that for a moment I thought I was hallucinating. But no. This was really the way this establishment felt fit to treat its repeat customers. This experience ruined not only my dinner but also my day. I wanted to throw up my food just to not have their product in my body. I am generally a level headed person and certainly understand machine error but the behavior coupled with the inconvenience is unacceptable.
